Pros: Parking is gated and plentiful. Staff is courteous. Rooms are business class. Smallish, but fully stocked with Keurig, microwave and fridge. AC is good. Freeway access is a breeze. Cons: Beds are a little firm, and City view rooms are a bit loud due to I-80 being so close.
I had an amazing time at this hotel. The staff was kind and very welcoming. We were checked in early and accommodated, which really made me happy. The only issues I had were that the card readers took 5 minutes to read our room keys. Small thing, but nonetheless an easy fix. The windows in our room had a spectacular view, but could have used some cleaning. Lastly, we were on the 11th floor and there was a party the persisted all night long. Made it hard to sleep, but around 2-3am the noise stopped. All in all, my experience was good. Would definitely come back if they made these minor fixes.
The place was very clean, rooms and bed were comfortable. We had breakfast there in the restaurant and the food is really good. The bar is nice at night. Stuff is friendly..
Good location, close to the major freeway interchange between East Bay and San Francisco near the Bay Bridge entry. Also close to EmeryBay Public Market a fabulous (mall) shopping experience and eatery. The secure guest entry parking only lot is a sense of comfort.
It was the best we felt like we were in home I don't know about you guys but my family and I were HAPPY we went there we liked the Jacuzzi spa and the workout we made it was AWSOME.
I almost NEVER write a review. But this one is definitely worth writing. If you're looking for a place to stay this place is newly renovated and very clean. But if you're thinking about hosting your event or even possibly your wedding, keep looking!!!
My family and I hosted a birthday recently here and the experience was very frustrating. After reserving the date and ballroom, the events manager/banquet manager shortly left. No big deal, but we were not notified of this personnel change. So when the next person took over, we had to go over all the details once again. As the months went by, the same thing happened again. Several unanswered emails and phone messages were not returned, and by the time our event was nearing, I'm suddenly introduced to yet the 4th (FOURTH) person that will now be handling our event.
Although after everything was said and done, our event still turned out successful. BUT the planning process was very disorganized, frustrating, and simply put, not worth the amount of money that we paid to host our event here. Planning my own wedding was a piece of cake compared to this. Especially if you are a bride, organization is key when planning your wedding. Why add more stress to your day? My suggestion THINK TWICE before booking your event here. Or if you do decide to book, hire an event planner that will deal with them for you.
The entrance was not clear, makeshift front desk due to ongoing construction. Rooms are small, very noisy from the highway and windows that did not seal, tried my best to close the small window aperture but was afraid the window might fall and expose myself to 10 floors fall. The staff was quite helpful.
Glad we could get a room in the area, as most other hotels were fully booked. Last minute trip for a family emergency, so we weren't going to be picky. There were a few issues (power outage for an hour the night we arrived and a parking card that didn't work), but Romika made it right and knocked one night off of our 2 night stay and made sure we got refunded for the parking charge.
The bed are uncomfortable, coffee in the lobby just in the morning, not even very basic free breakfast, awful pillows, very dirty Windows crossing out a great view
The Good: Great location close to the mall and the toll bridge. Just down the street from Trader Vic's. Short walk to the mall and movie theater. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Despite the right squeeze of the location, they had a good amount of parking available. The Bad: Parking is $17 a night, but honestly, that's cheap for the Bay Area, and given that you can walk everywhere from the hotel that saves you additional parking fees. The Ugly: This is just a nitpick of mine, and it was easily dealt with, but his need to be mindful-too much light in the room. Especially under the door. Threw the bath mat there. Fire alarm was incredibly bright, hung a wash cloth over it. The drapes didn't close all the way, used the pants hanger to clip them closed.
Hilton Garden Inn S/Oakland recently renovated their rooms (King Room Pictured). The newly renovated rooms are modern and decorated well. The staff is friendly, offering access to the gym and luggage holding while I waited for my room to be ready. The hotel is close to several markets that offer various options, from vegan to typical American, Asian, Italian and Mexican eateries.
Rooms facing away from the bay have quite a bit of car noise from the freeway, consider earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, great place to stay, I would stay here again
There is remodeling, this didnt interfere with service. Staff is courteous and kind. Beds comfy. Great room service. A tiny bit rundown, makes sense for the remodel. I would stay again. We took uber to Oakland..so good location.
This hotel is GARBAGE!!! I was traveling for work from the east coast and arrived at the Eville Hilton around midnight PST (3 a.m. my time). Extremely tired and delirious, all I wanted to do was get into bed. To my surprise, I was bumped from the hotel and put in a Holiday Inn Express 15 miles from the hotel (Oakland Airport). I was given a map, an apology, and was told there was nothing else they could do. I have traveled for work quite extensively and this was the first time that I have ever been bumped from the room. I booked my travel through AMEX a week prior to my arrival and was NEVER notified that they overbooked. I cannot understand how they can't make a simple phone call to say that they have overbooked. Pretty sure if I would have put my loyalty information in, this wouldn't have been the case. At least they picked up the tab for my room for the night. Never staying here again.
Horrible experience! 1. don't book on their website. The system will glitch and book a wrong date for you. 2. don't even bother calling the customer service, because they'll just transfer you to "advanced purchase" group, which leads to an automated message either saying "there is a long queue (or something similar), please try again later, *click" or tell you their business hours, make you wait for 2 hours, and then another automated message "please try again during our normal business hours" 3. just call your credit card company and just dispute the charges that the Hilton just stole from you!
Room is comfortable and clean, however position next to the elevator is less than ideal. There is significant noise from people walking and the elevator sliding.
Breakfast buffet only choice $17. No complimentary breakfast. Can hear people in the other room too easily. Room clean, hotel lobby is very nice and the staff are friendly.
The first night we stayed we needed four towels the next day we only got three, trash was left on the floor and the beds weren't made. The wifi was terrible nothing on TV and the beds were uncomfortable. not to mention it is in a terrible neighborhood. Very many homeless people and some of them doing drugs such as heroine. For tourists I would suggest a hotel on fisherman's wharf to make you trip even more spectacular and unforgettable.
Rooms are small for the price. Restaurant is good for breakfast (very attentive staff) but pricy for the same thing as other Hilton hotels include. Most annoying was the bracket on the TV made it impossible to use the HDMI connections.
This place would be a 5 star if it wasn't surrounded by amazing restaurants and drinkeries (I stop just short of the word bar). The walk around the peninsula is gorgeous and the ambiance is great.
Service great. Food was good. Location is right off the highway, which was nice. If you get the "mountain view", you'll get the traffic noise. Maybe the bay view doesn't get the same, but buildings are in the way of the bay view. The Loop is out front and is a great stop for a quick snack.
Don't be misled by the old dated exterior of this Hilton Garden Inn. It's a nice Hilton Garden Inn from the inside excellent views of the Bay from the back of the building warm and inviting interior.
