They were sent out by our Homeowner's to inspect roof damage and interior water damage. The inspector showed up and immediately informed me that he had hurt his ankle and "wouldn't be doing much". He was certainly right in that regard. Not only did he not properly inspect the roof, he never came inside to look at the interior damage. Their estimate was only 3% of what the insurance company came up with based solely on the pictures and videos i took myself. They also took 19 days to file their estimate from the time the inspector came out. Their negligence not only delayed our claim severely but caused over 40 additional gallons of water to come into our home.

As a roofer I have run into representatives of this company for years. Every single representative is unprofessional. Hancock is hired by your insurance to deny the claim. I have never seen them approve anything, ever.

These people are vultures. They started calling me over and over and over after I filed a claim with my homeowners insurance for hail damage to my roof. Come to find out, my insurance company never contacted them. They continued harassing me even after both myself and my fiancee told them never to call again. I have at least ten calls from these people over the duration of two days. Do yourself a favor and stay far from these people.

Consulting firm was rude and very unprofessional while discussing the homeowners roof damage. At one point he even mumbled under his breath he wished I would shut up, though I had been cordial and in no way spoken to him in a way that warranted his behavior. Also very unknowledgeable in his field of expertise.

the most IRRESPONSIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and FRUSTRATING company I have EVER dealt with in my life. DO NOT use them for ANYTHING because you will be left disappointed. Long story short, I made an appointment for them to come 2 weeks in advanced only to find out they never showed up. Please only use them if you want your time wasted and frustrated.

FRAUD ALERT! These guys do all the dirty work for insurance companies. The somehow always find a way to not approve a claim for insurance companies. I wouldn't let them on my property next time I have a claim.

HORRIBLE!!!!! I wish I could give them zero stars. Our homeowner's insurance company (Allstate) arranged for Hancock Claims to come out and inspect our roof today due to a suspected ice dam causing leaks in our master bathroom and home office. Last night, I received an email from Roy Scheunemann with Hancock Claims, who stated that he would be here at noon today to look at our roof. I wrote back and said that would be fine. He then emailed me back a short while later stating that he could not locate our address in his GPS. He had the COMPLETELY wrong address, wrong state, and even wrong zip code. I immediately replied and informed him that his info was totally wrong and I provided him with our correct address. We never heard from him again after that. My husband and I rearranged our plans for today so that we could be home for the inspection, only to be completely blown off and have them be a no call/no show. We sat around waiting and waiting. I emailed him at approximately 12:30 this afternoon asking where he was and if he was still coming. No response. We are FURIOUS. There is absolutely NO excuse for this whatsoever. It was beyond unprofessional and unacceptable to not show up or even make any effort to contact us to let us know they were not coming. I have since reported them to Allstate and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau next. These people should be ashamed of they way they run their business and blow off customers. Based on the other reviews I have read on here, it appears that they make a habit of not showing up for scheduled appointments and, when they do show up, they are totally useless and deny claims. After reading these reviews, I am horrified. I don't even want these idiots coming anywhere near our property now. I will be calling Allstate on Monday to demand somebody else. Absolutely terrible, terrible company. Avoid them if you can!

**UPDATE** Tonight, I received an email from someone named Brett Ferarra, who informed me that he was the one who was supposed to come and inspect our roof today (I have no idea what happened to Roy Scheunemann) and said that he was unable to make it because he had a lot of claims today that were scattered all over the state and that he did not have cell service to be able to call us to inform us that he could not make it. I told him that was not a valid excuse whatsoever and that we have traveled all over our state enough to know that he could have very easily found a spot with enough cell service to give us a call so that we would know he wasn't coming. He asked if he could come tomorrow and I told him to not even bother, that we would be contacting Allstate to request somebody else. What a complete joke.

I used this company to tarped my roof after huracan Irma, and it was a completely disaster, unprofessional ,bad attitude, people who doesn't know how to do the job right. Save your money and find someone else.

The bad reviews are correct. These guys did a wind-damaged inspection for insurance, were here for 20 mins, took 11 days to get scheduled by Allstate, and were tampering with the roof outside of the area that was damaged. Apparently, their inspection showed that it was 'manipulated damage' which was 1000% untrue. They also mumbled unprofessional things under their breath to the adjuster when I was walking away. Awful business as the other reviews state. I will be filing a claim with BBB as well. They think it's their job to keep insurance claim payouts low instead of reporting what is actually seen. It looks like they also didn't secure the patch that was put in place by my contractor which will result in even more problems.

Worst company out there for ladder assists or roof inspections. I wouldn't use them for ladder assists unless you want to get billed multiple times for 1 assist. Shady, Shady company. Plus, the roofers they used are not even trained. Waste of time and money. Border line incompetent and useless roofers. Pick a name out the yellow pages, you will have better luck!! I promise........

Adjuster showed up 2 hours late with an attitude. He told me it passed the brittle test before performing the brittle test. If Allstate sends these guys to your house, you might as well just switch insurance companies.

Completely unreliable service. Their scheduling dept. doesn't answer their phones during normal working hours, and their inspectors don't return calls or give estimates of their arrival. Their expertise also leaves much to be desired.

By far the worst company that I have every had experience with. Ok I was refered to them by my claims adjuster. I schedule an appointment to have my roof tarped after Hurricane Irma. I took off from work because I want to be home if any issues arised. So the technician was schedule btwn 12-5pm he never called or showed up. So I called the customer service two times regarding the matter. Then I was rescheduled for the next day for 8-12pm deja vu all over again. This time the customer service rep. tells me the technician says he should be there btwn 1-3pm which I doubt it. To anyone reading this if your claims adjuster suggestion this company I would highly decline. This company is highly unprofessional and unreliable. If I could give them a ZERO for rating I would.

Very unprofessional company do not use unless there are no other options. I have had to go back for many re-inspections due to their tec's lack of experience and inability to identify hail damage.

Most recently: My assigned tec showed up without required equipment to climb roof and I received a $100 charge. Their expectation is that I tell them if they need extra equipment, but that requirement is not stated on their website and when I brought this to their attention they refused to do anything about it.

Not a good company to work for. Overtime is always last min. They don t care about your time. Favoritism is always shown. It s a group of workers that just sit in the office doing nothing while you re doing all of the work. Very unorganized.

This company was hired by Tower Hill insurance to inspect the roof for hurricane damage. The inspector has no idea about tile roofs and how they are damaged by high winds and denied the claim. Meanwhile the tiles have been discontinued by the manufacturer and there are leaks, broken tile, loose tile. This company is responsible for the claim denial. This is not over!!!

Hancock Claims as a whole, company wise, I wasn t impressed. Reschedule me 3 times, have time windows that were not kept. Not impressed but insurance required we use them.
However, our technician, Alex(based from Texas) was absolutely fantastic! He was professional, on time, and honestly just a pleasure to chat with. I trusted him completely the task needed to get our roof repaired.

We have used this company many many times and have been very please with their technicians that show up. They are polite, usually make up the roof diagram right then and there. We have had to wait a few days for the invoice but the men always get on the roof with me and know their business.

This company is absolutely trash. They tried to say a year and half old roof was blistering and not hail damage when 13 other houses around it got roofed, they got upset and walked off my roof and didn't even finish their inspection. Complete waste of my time. I will be billing them for my time.

Atrocious company, unethical and dishonest , every roof is overturned by an engineer or adjuster for having damage when Hancock says no, always rush thru the claim and full of spite with an axe to grind

I live in the north east and sustained roof damage during a severe storm. Hancock was utilized by Allstate in processing my claim. The day of my appointment the Hancock inspector was a no-show. I gave him 25 minutes before I called to see what his ETA was. I was un-apologetically advised that I had to reschedule because he couldn't make it because of car trouble. When I asked at what point he was going to call me and let me know he couldn't make it, I was told he lost my phone number. This was a waste of my day and also money, since I had my roofing contractor standing by also. When a second Hancock inspector later contacted me, he told me he would be at my home 3 hours later. I told him not to bother.

Terrible!! Unprofessional. They couldn t make it to my house to an adjustment until a week after a massive water leak. Scheduled an appt between 1-5, got a call at 12:30 by the guy saying he couldn t come that day. First he argued about what he was going to come assess. He kept telling me he only assessed roofs, when I informed him it had nothing to do with my roof, he argued with me?! He rescheduled himself for the following day-Saturday at 10 am, even though I kept telling him no, that won t work. Called me at 9:30 on Saturday morning and said he would be there at 11. At 11:15 he called to say his truck broke down ....right...he also promised to have someone else come on Sunday, but otherwise we would see us for sure on Monday. Never heard back from them again. Absolute joke.

These negative reviews are ridiculous. All Hancock technicians are certified to inspect for roof damage. Your local contractor telling you that you have damage to try and make a sale obviously are not. Hancock technicians do not email to confirm appointments. Hancock is the most used, most professional, and most organized company in this industry. Do not blame the certified inspectors for not agreeing with your un-certified roofer about damages.

Said he would be out between 2 and 5. Day of he really narrowed it down... 2 - 4pm. 4:30 he finally answers his phone and said he had 1 quick stop 1st, be here in 1/2 hour. Here I sit 2 hours later 6:30 he s not here and He won t communicate.
I m a roofer, I work with tons of 3rd party inspectors. Hancock is hands down, not even close, the absolute worst.

My house recently had been hit with wind damage from a storm. When I called my insurance company they told me this company would be coming out to check out the roof. Let me tell you the thought of climbing my roof would probably scare my worst nightmare but this guy calls me and I tell him about the damage and he set a time with me. The day of he called to let me know he could come earlier which worked out better for me. The guy comes to the house introduces himself and explained the process. I was impressed at how this guy set himself up rope and harness and was even able to get a tarp set in place where the wind had blown off the shingles. I am not sure how it goes everywhere else but I had a great experience with these guys and so did my insurance company from what it seems as my claims process has went smoothly and we currently have the contractor out to repair all the damages.

My husband has dealt with these consultants on a r...

My husband has dealt with these consultants on a regular basis for the past 5 years or more. They always make his blood pressure rise and he gets super frustrated as they are just un-fair to the insured. They are basically a middle man between the insurance co. and the insured. They are there to take liability and responsibility away from your Ins. Co. Sounds like a good thing, but in fact they basically deny claims that would otherwise be approved but keep you from your Insurance Co. and since it's already been looked at by a "trained professional" they stick with their report. Theses consultants don't typically have any state licensing, adjuster or contractor wise and essentially are a biased third party that has no business being there. Just ask yourself who pays for theses consultants to come out and why? A denied claim cost $0, just a small fee to the consultant co. of "trained" but unlicensed professionals. The cycle continues. You can win in court or with a licensed engineer, but you shouldn't have to bother with all the frustration. You pay your premiums.

They say you will have the report 48 hours after the inspection. I had 2 inspections one took a week, after the inspection, the other a week and a half. The said they would complete a third inspection then after I called them several time to get a status, they said nope, sorry, we will not be inspecting this roof which we previously said that we would. The report has a lot of unnecessary fluff. The invoice is not included with the report, so now I have to wait another day or two before I can close my file. I have dealt with a lot of flakey roofers in my time as an insurance adjuster, these guys were no different.

I had a poor experience with this company and was ...

I had a poor experience with this company and was shocked at what I witnessed during a "Ladder Assist". What is a ladder assist when the Adjuster showed up in slippers and never got on a single roof facet during the appointment. This wasn't anything like the "Roof Access Assistance" I am familiar with. I have provided countless as a Highly Credentialed Roofer with UL Rated ladders up to 60' long, not fold up ladders

As a Roofer assisting Insurance Adjusters is not new to me; however I have never had one of them ask me to do their job for them, or provide data that would have bearing on the issues that resulted in them becoming involved. I have had Insurance Adjusters ask me my opinion and declined to provide one based on ethical conflict of interest, just as I have never solicited any owner or their representative if encountered while providing "Roof Access", and explained that "Ethically it creates a conflict of interest, plain and simple.

There are Industry Recognized Institutions with very strict credentialing protocol, and a "Code of Ethics" That do not focus on servicing only Insurance Companies, unless as Umpires between the Insurance Company and the Businesses that serve those who feel that they did not get treated fairly when the "Insurance Appraisal Process" is evoked. Sadly they exist to help level the playing field of a system that should not require outside help.

I'm not here to bash the guys who work for this Company, they have mouths to feed, and are doing what they are "Trained to Do"; however when only one type of client is served it commonly is with altruistic motives. It is very much the expert that chooses to only work for the prosecutor or the defense, when the fairest serve both sides.

As an advocate of fairness I am merely attempting to point out that "The Ladder Assist" is not the same as providing "Roof Access", witnessing this was an experience that I will never forget.

Training by an Engineering Company that specializes in assisting Insurance Companies, is of no comparison to Credentialing by the Number 1 Institution that credentials Registered Roofing Observers, and Registered Roofing Consultants, which has a strict code of Ethics and is very selective of who they credential, as well as whom those Credentialed members may serve.

For clarification just Google "Roofing Consultants", or "Forensic Roofing Consultants", "Building Envelope Consultants", and let Google's Search results illustrate what it takes to be a qualified expert. If these experts provided a "Ladder Assist" it could add immense value in promoting Fairness. I trust Search Engine Ranking Positions, and believe they yield the truest results for who is the real deal, and can filter out altruistic business models. That's fair isn't it?

Absolutely great company and great people! Donald was our field technician, he arrived on time was very knowledgeable and took the time looking at all areas of concern. My family and I are impressed with him and his company. I will recommend him and Hancock to everyone I know!

This company is not to be trusted. Had a client with an active roof leak, policy with AllState, Hancock rep claims no damage on the roof, water is coming in through window. I show him pictures and video taken in the attic week prior when it was raining, yet he still claims window is issue without any evidence to support his theory. The roof has a discontinued shingle. Terrible company. Not to be trusted.

This company is so frustrating to work with. The first consultant that came was not too bad and was overall polite. The second consultant was completely unprofessional. In hindsight, I should have rescheduled as he did have a hand in damaging our roof more during the inspection. Regardless, I m now with an insurance company that doesn t have a relationship with this company. Personally, I prefer not to deal with a company like this where the employees do not know how to deal with homeowners in a professional manner.

These so called inspectors are a JOKE. Sent a 20 year old to my home to do a roof inspiration for State Farm. I won't go in to details but if your insurance provider wants them to inspect your roof REFUSE it. Their job is to not find any damage at all. A kid inspection our roofs is so wrong. They make their money by not finding damage or at least saying there is no damage. This is why they have such bad reviews. Only way they will say you have a bad roof is if there iswater damage. This kid that came out was in NO WAY at all a professional inspector. Driving in my neighborhood fast with radio blairing and whipping into the parking space was unacceptable too. I knew from moment he arrived it was gonna be bad for us.

I wouldn t even give one start they no showed nor called on a set appointment time when I called our insurance company they were told it was because of bad weather and that was a LIE!!! And Hancock still hasn t even called!!!! Very unprofessional.

Most unprofessional and frustrating company I have...

Most unprofessional and frustrating company I have dealt with in a long time. They try to pull the wool over not only the insureds eyes but that if the insurer as well. Inspectors are not trained for roofing damage and are possibly trained to report minimal damage to save the Insurer money. After having my own independent inspection done by an Arkansas (local) company after their inspector came out, considerably more damage than was noted by their inspector was found WITIN THE SAME TEST SQUARE. I was promised by my claims handler for AARP The Hartford that a field manager would come out to reinspect, this was confirmed by Hancock and the field manager s name provided as the person that would be arriving. Then, on the date of the i spection received a call from someone else that claimed to be a manager, but when I asked if he had a business card to that affect, he hesitated and said probably . He then said he would call the originally scheduled person who IS probably HIS manager to ask him about this ( he is most likely a tech).

My father started his insurance career as an agent with THe Hartford and later be ame a Sales manager for Fireman s Fund Companies who sold to them. This policy has been in effect and paid regularly for over 40 years. Needless to say I am disappointed that they would use a company, like Hancock, with such a poor reputation because it is destroying confidence in their company as a result.

I ve worked hand and hand with this company for a while and have figured out they do not treat their employees well. Especially the managers, the managers are run into the ground to the point they treat their techs like garbage and not real employees.

Teach your managers how to treat people and you ll keep good employees! Until then, this company has no chance of survival with the amount of disrespect the upper level puts out.

These guys have been a great company to work with. We have only been working with them for a few months but they have been able to get all of our information back to us in a timely manner which is such a plus compared to the others out there. As in for our customers they have been pleased with how quick we are able to get an inspector out there. They even have a CAT team sent in when we have disasters so we are able to get to all of our insured even when our adjusters are stretched thin. One thing that I have really loved about this company is their ability to see damage inflected by contractors (once you've been in the business as long as I have you will notice this happens time to time). I doubt contractors love this company but as an insurance adjuster going on 15 years they are great!!!

I ve worked with Hancock for years and they are by far the most inconsistent ladder assist out there. They have no clue what hail is despite other cat adjusters being easily able to detect what a hail strike is. If it s wind, they will claim it was manufactured despite shutters and window screens being blown off. They are paid by insurance companies to deny claims, nothing more, nothing less.

Hired by insurance companies to deny claims period. Read the reviews its all true. If your insurance company has hired this 2 star company its to deny your claim before they even come out.

Apparently they all need to go to driving school. Just had someone pull out to do a u-turn in front of me. Luckily I was able to slam my brakes quick enough to not hit him. Then he entered onto the highway and nearly ran another car off the road. Fortunately, he swerved back into his lane in time not to hit that car. Reddish/burgundy Ford truck with Tampa Bay Bucs license plate.

I was surprised with the reviews about this company. I had a good run with them to say the least so I thought my contribution should be voiced. Very friendly guys. They were a little late but still great representation of the company and very informative.

Unlicensed and unprofessional. They render decisions on claims without any knowledge of the policyholder's actual coverage, and then pretend that their not making any claim decisions. Hello folks, if you're telling the adjuster "no functional damage", without any mention of cosmetic damages, because you didn't even look for any, then guess what?! You're by default applying an exclusion. You excluded telling the adjuster the whole story! Hancock's Ladder Assists regularly tells us that they're looking for "functional damage" only. Based on what?! YOU ARE NOT A LICENSED ADJUSTER. Just report the roof's condition with photos without applying strict guidelines that you do not understand. Further, they claim to be HAAG Engineering Certified. That may be true, but HAAG's definition of hail damage is not the same as what the policy covers. So it really doesn't matter if you have a HAAG certification or not. These two entities are not in alignment. It's time state regulators take a look at this practice.

No experience with this business other than observing one of their trucks driving like they lost their mind. Flying past cars that were doing the speed limit, cutting them off and nearly rear ending another vehicle just to make it though a traffic light.

Don't listen or believe the reviews alleging that Hancock is paid to deny or not find storm damage. It is completely false. They truly are a neutral 3rd party inspecting for storm damages. The quality of their inspections have gone downhill recently. They are told to lie to adjusters and homeowners due to "management" giving them impossible schedules. They are told to "make it work" when you have 30 minutes to make a 3 hour drive. They are reprimanded for speaking up and asking questions about logistical inabilities. There is a "thin blue line" mentality at the upper levels and unless you are a veteran or cop or fireman or some other kind of "first responder" then you are quickly dismissed as placeholder for the next first responder or family member. They treat the office staff like servants and are not bending or accommodating in any way.

Absolutely the worst. While there is visible and noticeable and documented damage to my roof, they said there was none. I have 3 other reports the say there is damage, but the insurance company will not believe the reports I have, just this incompetent company.

This company does not have a professional bone in its body. I would highly recommend training in hail and wind recognition. But above all else customer service skills. You can deny deny deny all you want and still be a decent person until you run into hancock. Then its deny deny deny while also being an A hole. Congratulations once insurance companies see the truth im sure they will be out of business shortly after

SCAM ALERT!!!! This company is as unethical as they are professional. They can out to my home for a hail storm inspection for the insurance company. The inspector was super rude and in a rush. After being on my roof for 5 minutes, he comes down and says I don't have any hail damage and all the marks my roofer pointed out were from blistering. I called my insurance adjuster back and told them I wasn't happy with the result and asked them to send out someone else. A week later an actual insurance adjuster came out from the company and looked at my roof. After about 30 mins on my roof he came down and said I definitely had hail damage to the roof and that he would pay to have it replaced. When I asked him why the first guy from Handcock didn't say I had hail damage, he said he wasn't sure, but the damage to my roof was "textbook" hail damage. In the end I'm glad I finally got an honest inspector to look at my roof. The people over at Handcock should not be allowed to do this to people!

I can't speak to the business's dealings, as I am not a customer. However...I can tell you that I'll never be a customer due to a run in with one of their employees on the interstate. The employee rode my bumper and was extremely unsafe in his swerving behind me. I had my children in the vehicle with me as well (I also had a baby on board sign on the vehicle, which he ignored). Fortunately for me, he had his Hancock Consulting sticker on the side of his car so I could write this lovely review.
