If I was able to give zero stars I would there glad to take your money right over the phone but to get you paper work you need to take care of it is another hassel. I have called three times already trying to get my pay off amount faxed to me so I can send it to my bank to pay this off in full and every time I call I am told it will be 24 hours. This place is a joke and if I could I would say screw them and wait for it to transfer somewhere else to someone who actually wants to help

This group was one of the easiest agencies to work with. They helped structure a payment plan we could manage and they helped us reorganize when we needed to. I don't like needing a collection agency, but I am happy we were able to deal with this one.
As an office manager, the last thing I want to do is to make collection calls. The best thing I could have done for my company was to hire F.H. Cann & Associates to take over that nasty job. The weight that is lifted from my shoulder is enormous. They provide a great service.
It was hard to let go of work I was used to doing, but FH Cann and Associates made that much easier. They took over debt collection for my company. It made a huge difference for us.
I just want to offer some advice about this shady Collection company that Services the student loans for the department of education.
Rule #1: Never, Never, Ever give out your personal banking information to these call agents. They will try to convince you that they will just automatically withdraw your payments from your account. Never give them your banking info over the phone. You can make your payments online at Myeddebt.ed.gov
Rule #2: Don't make your payments UNTIL you receive your contract via email that explicitly states what your payments will be in order to get you out of "Default" status. The reason I say this is because if you read the fine print on FH Cann & Associates website it says that payments made PRIOR to you receiving your contract will NOT COUNT towards the amount of payments you need to make in order to get your loan out of "Default" status (usually 7 - 9 payments). Thus, you end up paying more than you have to in order to get your loan in good standing.
Rule #3: When you make your payments online always save the receipts for your online payments. Follow this method and you will avoid being scammed like other people who educated me on what to do. Update: I'm finally out of "Default " status and didn't experience any mess following these rules. My 1 star rating is because I hate seeing the less fortunate being taken advantage of....
Spoke with an associate trying to settle my debt. He lied to me trying to get me to pay a higher settlement cost(and he was not the first person to give me a higher cost). Then he continued to interrupt me on the phone and speak condescendingly and mock what I was saying on the phone. I later, after repeatedly calling, asking to speak with a manager, was told there is no manager on duty , I finally got a call from a manager, or so I told. I was told that he, the rep, walked over to the supervisor and asked her to call me. This was the second time that I caught the rep lying to me. Why would he say there is no manager on duty yet when the manager called me she said that the rep walked over and asked me to call you . Either the rep is a liar or the manager wasn t a manager, only a rep pretending to be a manager. Either way this sounds like a company full of liars and thieves.
I could give the name of the rep that acted in such poor taste and professionalism, but I am not going to not going to stoop to the level at which I was treated on the phone. The company knows who I am speaking of, and if they want to reach out to me with an apology, it could only help their case(not hard to move up on the totem pole of professionalism after being on the very bottom....no where to go but up as they say). Yet I doubt I will ever get as much.
Worst company I ve ever had to deal with. I talked to about 6 different people in 4 weeks and they all told me something completely different. They don t care about anything except lying to you
Our in house collection department was folded into our accounts recievable after we started working with F.H. Cann and Associates. The results they were able to get went above and beyond what we had been able to obtain. This has permitted streamlining several functions within the company.
A solid business will always have bad debt that needs to be collected. I had devoted so many hours to the process that when I found F.H. Cann & Associates it was lthe light at the end of the tunnel. They have done so much for my company by taking over the management of that aspect of business.
Wow , no one their know how to do there job. I been trying to get all this damn paperwork fill out . Sandy one of their work , walk me through each paper work that need to be fill out. After paying $24 , once again still missing paperwork. I would love if the CEO actually read these reviews.. Cause now I'm turning you guys in to department of education. You are here to help not to give use the running around .
Bad debt is like an albatross hanging around my neck. FHC's team takes the pressure off me and my accounting staff by handling the collections for us. I'm very happy we changed from our prior agency.
I was over my head in debt because I was trying to be impressive and all that did was get me in a financial hole I couldn t dig out of. That s why I am thankful for a place like FH Cann. The people I spoke to understood me and didn t judge me. I told them what I was able to pay and they worked with me to do that.
This place has begun to garnish my checks for a loan I am not aware of and when I asked for verification that the loan belongs to me they have blocked me I've called them multiple times over the past week and my calls are never accepted. Very unprofessional company
How many debtors can actually praise a dept collecting company. I had an awesome person from F.H. Cann & Associates call me. She was sympathetic and practical. We were able to work-out an arrangement to get rid of the dept in no time.
I have literally been sending this paperwork into this company since last August that they require in order to get out of default, remind u they been taken my payments faithfully every month. I spoke to this so called manager names Curt Meyer and he was so rude, ignorant, and unprofessional and then during the recorded call kept putting words in my mouth and cutting me off. While talking about the payments he burst out with, well ill just note the account that you will like to stop making payments in which i NEVER SAID. Then i asked to speak to his manager because he just could not have an intelligent conversation with me what so ever!! So I spoke with his supervisor, Joe Behimer, which wasn t any help. He never sent me the document in which he promised he would but it s Friday so he didn t care and was just in a rush to get off at 5. This company is the worst company i ever had to deal with. The department of education should definitely pick a new 3rd party company. It should never take a WHOLE YEAR to receive paperwork. I emailed, scanned and faxed it all in and each time they came back with we cant take this paperwork because blah blah blah since august of 2018. It is now June 7th 2019. Im definitely going to file a complaint with the BBB and post all these screenshots on social media that i took from sending these documents in. This is Ridiculous!!!! Even one star for this review is WAYYYYYY to much!!!!!!!
Waste of time calling this place. Try to get honest answers, and they have no interest in that. Their ONLY goal is to try and weasel you out of your money. VERY dishonest, these people should be ASHAMED of themselves!
While I couldn't account for the incredible amount due after an unexpected situation, I'm grateful to be able to work with the representative here. She was effecient, kind, and helped me find a way to manage the cost.
FH Cann & Associates had contacted me about a medical debt that I didn t know was in collections. I actually thought at first it was one of those robocall scams but the person I spoke with was very patient and understanding. After doing some research, I discovered that it was in fact a valid debt and paid it off.
My representatives at FH Cann & Associates always get back to me promptly and courteously. They have been extremely helpful in processing our delinquent accounts. I got a deposit this morning for a collection they have been working on for well over a year now and it made me smile.
The representatives at F. H. Cann & Associates have high class, very professional customer service skills. I had called to inquire about a collection that appeared on my credit report that I didn't even know was in collections. The rep was very understanding and explained to me the nature of the situation.
The company is good at being respectful, however, when in garnishment from the United States Department of Education, they can not help you unless you are rich and able to afford to clear off a $30,000+ loan and you only make $25,000 a year. I'm almost homeless due to this garnishment and they have no programs to bail you out. Therefore, I cant totally blame them, however, they are just a mouth piece with no power.
I am elated with F.H. Cann & Associates. We hired them to address debt collections. They have done an incredible job increasing our bottom line with money we would have lost. They have taken away the headache of trying to collect an old debt.
Why can't all collection agencies be like this?! These guys use the latest technology and actually treat people like people. Collections can be a nasty business, but FHC brings class and high performance. I'm glad my HR dept recommended we use them.
Having a great team makes the difference when a company needs to collect on debts. Hiring FH Cann made all the difference for my company. One less thing on my plate opens the way for me to build.
Apparently hunting my ex down, and decided it would be a good idea to blow up my work phone. Associate was rude and wouldn't answer simple questions about why she was even calling.
My office has used a number of collection agencies throughout the years and I have never been satisfied with their work. That changed when we sought out the services of F. H. Cann & Associates. They promised to take care of our outstanding receivables and they delivered. They even managed to collect balances we had actually given up on. Thank you very much!
I had a long-forgotten student loan. It was less than twenty-five hundred dollars as the original amount. It had grown to over twelve thousand. I couldn't believe it. With the help of F. H. Cann & Associates, we were able to negotiate a fair pay-off.
In my office, I used to be the one to call clients that apparently forgot to pay their bills and it really stressed me out to do that. My boss saw what it was doing to me and then decided to hire FH Cann. These people are the EXPERTS with debt collection and are professionally trained to do this type of work!
They contacted me about a loan I had already finished paying off through the state months ago, what a joke/scam of a company. Good attempt though. Also, highly unprofessional spokeswoman. Don't get involved with these Jokers. Call whoever you normally pay through or who you owe before doing business with these clowns.
Hiring FH Cann and Associates to handle our debt collection was the best choice our company could have made. They have taken a huge weight out of our company and managed it very well. This has allowed us to grow.
I have been working with F. H. Cann & Associates for many years now. Their customer service is impeccable and they have gone above and beyond to fulfill my needs. I constantly get solicitors that claim to offer the same level of work but I am very comfortable and secure dealing with this great agency.
So I was pretty afraid of calling these debt collectors back, I defaulted on my student loan, I felt like I had no options. I think the girl I talked to was Alexis. She was really nice. I didn't give them my banking info. I did everything on my own through studentaid.ed.gov ... So far it's been a pleasant experience and I am way less stressed now that I talked to them.
This has been a positive experience, despite what brought me in contact with the nice representative from this company. Very easy to work with. Displayed empathy, which I don't get every time I've spoken to people from collection agencies. When there is no empathy, I typically skip the bill. I know the questionable ethics in that, but I can't draw blood from a stone. This woman worked with me and helped me find a way to make this happen.
Update 10.31.17 Also Beware, they can not verbally confirm or deny that their collection fees and costs will be removed once you successfully rehab your defaulted school loans, even though on the DOE terms and conditions of the rehab program, says it will. One of their employees said they would remove it but his supervisor apologized in a later conversation stating on a recorded line he was wrong.
Communication every time I call is still unnerving, being my accounts are split they still initially claim I've made no payments, even though they auto withdraw from my bank account monthly for the last 9 months.
Also Beware, I think they are using number spoofing tech when calling borrowers and debtors, as well as telephonic communication tools to block or re-route numbers from VoIP or blocked number phones. Making it hard for the borrower to hold the government funded debt collector accountable by recording all conversations. I will update this if this changes but my MagicJack line, Line2, and Vonage all no longer work to contact this company. ........ I've removed my original review that laid out this companies incompetence in collection of payment, (which they rectified) and their lack of information on why there will be additional charges added to my account to rehabilitate this loan.
I began my path to open a case to find answers with the help of my local government officials, I shared with them everything I had and my concerns. My concerns were as follows:
1. Collection fees seem like a way for this company to get paid for collecting on this account, similar to fees assessed by collection agencies who represent creditors. My questions were, what is this fee for and why is it assessed on my Government provided student loans?
2. The implication by this law firms csr that if I sign the financial disclosure, I might wave my rights to a borrowers defense against my Devry student loans.
3. No solid answers were provided for the above questions and I'm continuely being referred back to the Dept of Edu, and once I call and try to get a live person the auto line sends me back to FH Cann & Associates law firm.
After about a month I get a letter from FH Cann and Associates, from their legal council in response to the government inquiry. The letter in response to the govt inquiry stated that their was no issue between me and them and they did not have any control or answers to why there was a $10,000 collection fee added to my student loans, the implication being that this was a Dept of Edu thing that FH Cann Associates have no control over. With this letter they also sent another request to fill out and sign the financial disclosure, as is, with no changes. (See attached screenshot to this review)
Worked for this company and let me tell you that this company is extremely Unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone they fire people with no warning and make up any excuse as to why they should be fired.. I have never worked at a place that s so unprofessional fire them all and hire new management.. don t apply this job is not a good fit for anyone it s all about favorites in this job..
This place will string you along meanwhile garnishing your pay checks having the same issues over and over They say they don't have a coffee or something and they have to melt let 7 to 10 business days I get it fax it they never received it I'm sorry
I enjoy being an accountant. The part that I couldn't stand was trying to collect delinquent debt. I was so grateful to have that horrible task taken from me when we hired F. H. Cann & Associates. They are doing a great job collecting back debts on our behalf.
Collecting unpaid debt was not something I went to college for for and I was always frustrated when our former manager had me do the task. Now that we have a more reasonable person in charge, she decided that such things are best handled by professionals, which is why we make use of the services offered by FH Cann & Associates! Thank you very much!
We are so impressed with the services we have received from F.H. Cann and Associates. Their call center is staffed with well-qualified and knowledgable employees. Everyone works together for the same goal. We have had such a great relationship with them and our accounts receivable situation has never looked better.
My loan has been in default for a long time and I have been in wage garnishment for about a year. I stayed in garnishment even though I couldn t afford it because I did not want to talk to anyone there.
In the past, I have worked with incredibly rude people who would not listen to me at all. It was so frustrating.
Today, I got up the nerve to call and was connected to Carlos A. He listened to me and helped me to come up with a solution. Words cannot explain how horrible this has been so to have someone truly help me was a relief. I just wanted to let you know he is amazing and so professional, it was a joy to work with him. I feel so relieved and it is all because of him.
People always say when they have bad customer service, but I wanted to take this opportunity to share my wonderful experience.
If this company calla hang up immediately I worked here and they are a scam they are predatory and the lady who dies the training she is in her fifties I forgot her name but she is rude and fires people on the spot for no reason
Have been trying to call in to talk to someone about a wage garnishment for a week now. Your system is broken I get a voicemail Everytime. This is not the time to block communications. Please contact me.
I have called numerous times, always during business hours and have never been able to speak with a representative. The messages repeat themselves at least 3 times each.
Having an understanding person to help you manage debt feels like a rare thing. I am happy I did. The partnership working with this representative was positive. The bill is paid. Things are getting back on track now.
They never answer the phone or return voicemails. They stress how crucial it is to get required documentation to them yet never follow up with you. This company sucks!
I just want to say I talked to Calvin today and he was so patient with me and extremely helpful. I was attending to my teething toddler, trying to follow along and do everything that was needed and my phone kept cutting out! He was so nice and helpful. He deserves a raise!
Also I'm so thankful for this service. I don't know what I would do without it!
These are the most DISGUSTING group of boys I ve ever had to deal with. Not only did they HUMILIATE me for reaching out and calling THEM, but they laughed at me over the phone about my financial issues with student loans. When I reached out... to them. Not vice versa. I called willingly. Not being hunted down. So have some respect. I feel for ALL of you who have no choice but to deal with them as your loan provider. If anybody has any idea of how to have my loans transferred to a different provider please let me know. FH DO NOT RESPOND TO ME.
It amazes me how often people dog the collections calls. I caught this one and the guy on the other end was really cool. He heard me out. We came up with a way to get this paid. It was really good to work with someone who had some sense and understanding together.
F. H. Cann & Associates are absolutely the best agency we have worked with. We are a food distributor and it is a very difficult industry to maintain your head above water. The team we had did a great job in recovering our outstanding invoices. I highly recommend this agency.
I tried collecting on invoices that were months way past due and all I got for my efforts were threats and being called vulgar names. A colleague referred me to the services of FH Cann & Associates. She told me that s who she uses for debt collections and she got great results. Now, I am getting great results as well! Thank you!
for some reason the phone number i have has been disconnected i was calling bc they havent taken my payment out yet and cant seem to intouch with ppl as of today i have called 1800 number and the local number and they both have been disconnected can someone tell let me know whats going on?
The change in our overall effeciently was compounded by the great communication with F. H. Cann and Associates. After letting go of the debt collection process, we were able to better cater to our clients. The growth for us has been rapid. All of this is becuase we hired this company.
I couldn't be more impressed with the work F.H. Cann and Associates has done for us. Our company needed a reliable source for managing our accounts receivables, a company with integrity and successful outcomes. F.H. Cann and Associates created a plan that worked for us and we couldn't be happier.
I am so happy to have worked with this team! The impact of their work on our success is not only measurable but empowering. For a small company to manage everything can be taxing, but their help has made it possible to refocus on growth and how we have!
Serving my team is the most enjoyable thing in the world. Collecting old debts was hard. Hiring this company made all the difference for us. They made it possible for me to care for more people and serve my team more effectively.
I completed the loan rehabilitation program and they still tried to take my tax refund stating that they still needed signed documents from me. I asked them to e-mail me the letter. They said they would but never did. Now I can't seem to get them on the phone unless I call from an unrecognized number (thanks Google Voice!) One time they hung up on me after placing me on hold for over 30 minutes. I am filing a complaint with BBB and the US Department of Education. I encourage others who have had issues to do the same. Do NOT trust this company!!!!
Okay, so, ending up in collections isn't really a good thing at all. I still had a great experience with the gentleman I worked with. He was really good about listening to my situation and helping me come up with a way to resolve it.
Keep in mind, I have been out of college for some time. But just a couple weeks ago, this place calls me from an Illinois number. Normally I don't answer unknown numbers; I don't know anyone in Illinois; but I answered it this time. I spoke with a woman who was polite, but when I told her that I needed to look into this "program" a bit further (I had a feeling it was a scam), She immediately gave me to her supervisor, who then rather politely but aggressively told me that if I didn't agree to these terms & pay the $5/month for the rest of this year, into next year, that my paychecks could be garnished for up to 15% of my gross income. So I gave them the banking information for a card that I was using for my paychecks, and they got their $5. But since then, I have stopped using that card and switched to another bank. They have not and will not receive that banking information.
They continue to call me, daily, sometimes several times a day, and send me a document to which I am unable to access via email. I never answer their calls & have most of the #'s they call from blocked. I have notified them several times that I am unable to open that document, as it requires an access code that I was never given. Do they respond & give me the access code or find another way for me to access that document? NO. They just send another email, with the document that I cannot access. No code, no explanation, no apologies for the trouble. Nothing. Just more emails from them that I end up deleting.
It's starting to feel like harassment at this point & I'm getting fed up with it.
What a nice place to work! I've learned a lot about business and the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. If you're looking to start a career in the industry, this is a good place to do it.
I would give them no stars if at all possible. They lie, don't do their jobs, get financial information WRONG (seems important, right?), and aren't even friendly.
Worst loan holder ever. Get away from these bumbling idiots as fast as you can! So happy my loan transferred. They put in wrong info (overestimated my yearly income by over $20,000!!!!) for my income, said "I never sent them" paperwork when I absolutely did via both email and post office. They NEVER call me when something happens or changes. 99% of people I spoke to on the phone were irritable morons.
FYI: My new loan is only $20 a month, whereas they tried to get me to pay over $500 initially but I forced them to go down to "only" $150 a month. I did not have one good experience.
OH! I also just learned today they actually LIED to me because they said my payments will remain the same with my new loan holder. In lucky and they actually went down, but found out they CAN NOT promise that. This is after they completely ignored my email (that they had asked me to send) updating my income info.
Stay away or just make absolute minimum payments until your loan transfers. Don't even get me started on trying to make payments...
I have been trying to pay on my bill for a week. Everytime I call. I call and get several numbers to the wrong office. Finally get the right office, and all I get is an IVR voicemail. Can't talk to a person. Next thing you know I will receive a letter saying I didnt pay. I never had so much trouble trying to pay a bill. It's like they are setting me up for failure. Wow.
It was difficult to manage regular collection processes and debt collection as well. We found F.H. Cann through a reommendation. Their services have streamlined the company accounts.
Managing the accounts receivable portion of our company has never been a duty any of us enjoyed. We decided to let someone who has the expertise in the field to it for us. F.H. Cann & Associates is that someone for us and they certainly do it with expertise.
After years of fear, avoidance and personal mismanagement, my student loans ended up here. It was scary and upsetting to be in default, but the polite and patient staff helped to explain everything carefully and shepherded me back onto the right track. It was not an ideal experience--contacting the person in charge of my account was almost impossible, some processes were very non-transparent, and certain fine-print items were not revealed so that I ended up with some unpleasant surprises (such as getting my tax refund garnished!). However, I think the government was more to blame than the staff of FH Cann. My loan servicer was very helpful and clear, and I ended up a lot wiser in the end. Now out of default and back in standard repayment with a better track record and credit score!
This company is a complete dumpster fire. They apparently don t communicate with each other within the company so every person you talk to will tell you something different. They will harass you and you will never talk to the same person more than once. Paying my loan off through them has been a nightmare because of their disorganization and lack of communication. I feel for anyone else who has a defaulted loan get sent to them.
This was one of the best places I've worked in my career. The biggest reason is the management team. They were encouraging, supportive, and informative every step of the way. When I put in my notice they wished me well. It's too bad my college isn't in the same area as the office.
They can make you believe they are happening but can screw you over after a 3 weeks saying oh you have to pay more. Then when you ask for a sup they say they are going to tell you the same thing
I am a dedicated business owner who really wants to grow effectively. I hired this team to handle one part of the business is time consuming. Once I knew it was in safe hands I was able to grow my customer base and serve more people.
I actually was really nervous when they offered the super los $5 month payments, I completed the the program and my loans actually came out of default!!! This program works they were all super nice to work with today, I received my letter I successfully completed the program and my loans are out of default... I have a new payment plan yes it s more money but definitely manageable... totally glad I did it!!!!
Handling debt collection was taking up too much time for my small business. We hired F.H. Cann and Associates and saw an instant turn around in the results. I'm so glad we made this decision.
The customer service is rude, apparently their professional practice is to make their clients seem as criminals, I explained that the U.S.Dept of Education would not accept what I was able to pay and after the fact I found out that what you offer must be accepted. I get different information from each person I speak we other at this company as well. As with most companies.
They attached a garnishment for my wages . They said if I signed a rehabilitation along with the payments that they would take the garnishment off of my wages. I've made two payments. I need a total of six. Why is mysteriously this paper I need to sign taking more than two weeks to come to me via e-mail? And every time I call oh sorry the system is down. Sounds like a bunch of scam artist to me.
This is the most HORRIBLE experience I've had with any company. I can NOT get anyone to call me back for two months. I've been trying to contact them leaving voicemails and emailing. Even left the Department manager a voicemail with no response.
I have nothing but good, wonderful things to say about the amazing folks at FH Cann & Associates. I had needed ambulance transportation and didn t have any insurance so the cost went to them for collections and they were very understanding of my financial situation. It s hard to find people like that in ANY industry!
I don t understand why people avoid collection calls. In my experience, I called F.H. Cann & Associates as soon as I got the notice. This group is eager to work with you to come up with a manageable solution to clear the debt.
If there was a way to post negative stars, it would be more fitting then the one I am required to give. I received a letter from this company last year.Because I would like to get out of default and repair my credit, I gave them a call.Spoke with rep who got my info and told me that my payment would be $211. Since that was cheaper than the $400+ payments I had been quoted before, I agreed and supplied my banking info.Once they received my check stubs, my payment went up to over $400.I called back, gave info again, and was given a payment amount of $257.I set up bi-weekly payments for that amount.I started getting alerts from Credit Karma and letters from US Dept of Ed about missed payments. This is every month! I call FH Cann back again. This time I m told that since I m only paying $257 they are basically taking almost 2 months of payments to make one $400 payment. I submit financial disclosure form and proof of income for my spouse and me. I still don t understand why my payment is so high based on our take home pay so I call them again. This is when I learn that take home pay is not just what I bring home but any voluntary deductions, like 401k, as well which almost doubled our monthly income! I was sent Financial Disclosure form to adjust expenses and resubmit. I did this and sent it back since rep told me that if I got it back quickly the pay stubs (within 90 days) would still be good. When I called to check on status of recalculations, I was told that my payment amount was still $400+ which didn t make any sense since my expenses had increased by $2000. I kept a copy of the disclosure form that I sent and went over it with the rep. Someone miskeyed one of my expenses as $100 instead of $1000! Rep apologized and corrected it. Told me that my new payment would be $136. Because I read some other reviews on here, I asked to have my banking info removed. Rep told me that it was and my payments would be postponed until he could send my paperwork up the chain for review. No payment came out of my account but I also still had not received the letter with new payment amount that would actually qualify my payments for rehab program. I checked my account yesterday, and a payment of $2,441.50 had been drafted from my account. Attempted anyway because I didn t have it which resulted in a $30 NSF from my credit union.I called again and spoke with a lady who genuinely seemed concerned and just as confused as I was as to why that happened. While looking over my account, she noticed that my calculations still had not been done because when I made corrections on the Financial Disclosure form I failed to initial the total...not the corrected expenses just the total!!She entered my new expenses and emailed the form for me to sign. I faxed it back today, and called to verify receipt of the fax. I was then informed that now I have to submit a new pay stub for my husband because I have gone past the 90 days which will result in a new income calculation that I will have to call and follow up on just like I have with everything I ve done with this company so far. There is no hesitation drafting money from my account, but all manner of slowness with everything else. I am beyond frustrated and the condescending manner in which I was spoken to didn t help.I know I m in default by no fault, but I am trying to take care of this. It would really help if the company that I dealt with showed some professionalism and respect for me as a customer.
F. H. Cann & Associates provides my office with very personalized service. The results that they achieve for us are well over what they initially promise and for a company of this type to do that tells me they are doing something not only right but something their competitors are not doing.
Same thing happened to me as a few others on the reviews. My college loans went to this place. Neither one of my parents went to college so I really wasn't aware of how loans worked. Long story short they ended up in collections. Which is fine, however... I agreed to pay this place the 5$ a month for a full year. After that they told me I would be placed on the list to be able to go back to school. When I made my last payment they told me that they needed all of these documents from me. When I sent the the documents, they told me that I was no longer able to back to school and that I needed to start paying 75$ per month instead of the 5$ per month. The told me that the year would now start over... This place lied to me and others. They seem to have good customer service but I don't understand how they can get away with lying to so many people.
Quite possibly the worst company that exists. DO NOT talk to their agents. Call the US Department of Education first. Get the real deal on your loans before doing any business whatsoever with this company.
Bills add up when you are busy living life.I was contacted by someone about something I had forgotten. I'm grateful that they did because I hate leaving bills unpaid. We sorted a solid plan that I could afford. Having someone who heard my concerns really helped me.
My office uses the great experts at FH Cann & Associates. They are very prompt at responding to my emails and assisting with resolving things in a positive manner. They are very polite and honest with me about these type of situations.
We tried to negotiate a payment plan with a company for months. It was not until we spoke to a person at F. H. Cann & Associates that we could come up with an agreement that we could both live with.
Not like I have much of a choice but to deal with them since I let my student loans go into default, however, nobody that works at this establishment seem to be on the same page. I have been making payments to get my Title IV loan reinstated so I can finish my last 2 semesters. My last "qualifying" payment should have been 15 days ago. But these people dropped the ball, and admitted to screwing my billing date up somewhere within the last 6 months. Not only did they do that, but they also "noted on the account" that one of my payments doesn't count. WHAT? So here I am, with no reinstated Title IV loan, not able to register for classes and I made one additional payment for the month of July only for them to tell me that I have to wait 2 weeks for this reinstatement letter to be sent to my school. Needless to say, I'm praying that someone with a semblance of competency can pull off a miracle and get this handled so that I can start classes in 2 weeks.
So glad I've wasted a year of my time and MONEY to these people thinking this was helping with my loan when in reality they were just taking my money. I talked to a very professional man from FAFSA and he said he has never heard of these people or this company. In the year I was paying these people, the interest racked up on my loan, now I owe even more. GREAT.
Finding a collection agency that is really reasonable to work with and reasonable about rates has been rough. It wasn't until we partnered with F.H. Cann that things finally came together.
I ve been in contact w them about a default. Every time I ve called the calls are in and out and you can t understand what they re saying. I ve had this problem for a couple of months now when I ve tried calling. It s ridiculous and they expect you to agree w what they re saying when you can t understand them.
I lost my job and we ran out of savings and we long since cut up our credit cards. We had debt collectors calling trying to collect as we were trying to recover. The only collectors willing to negotiate understanding we were recovering was F. H. Cann & Associates.
They told me if I made five payments I d be on my way out of default. I made five payments. Then they changed their story and said I had to make two more payments to get the letter stating I was eligible for financial aid. I made two more payments. Still no letter. They have no problem taking my money yet they can t keep their word.
F.H. Cann and Associates has been such a great resource for our accounts receivable management. They have several decades of experience and a team that is knowledgeable on best practices. Their success is our success.
