Hello everyone,

Hello everyone,

I just want to offer some advice about this shady Collection company that Services the student loans for the department of education.

Rule #1: Never, Never, Ever give out your personal banking information to these call agents. They will try to convince you that they will just automatically withdraw your payments from your account. Never give them your banking info over the phone. You can make your payments online at Myeddebt.ed.gov

Rule #2: Don't make your payments UNTIL you receive your contract via email that explicitly states what your payments will be in order to get you out of "Default" status. The reason I say this is because if you read the fine print on FH Cann & Associates website it says that payments made PRIOR to you receiving your contract will NOT COUNT towards the amount of payments you need to make in order to get your loan out of "Default" status (usually 7 - 9 payments). Thus, you end up paying more than you have to in order to get your loan in good standing.

Rule #3: When you make your payments online always save the receipts for your online payments. Follow this method and you will avoid being scammed like other people who educated me on what to do. Update: I'm finally out of "Default " status and didn't experience any mess following these rules. My 1 star rating is because I hate seeing the less fortunate being taken advantage of....
