Must see when in Paris. So much history, gives a good feel for how extraordinary the design and completion of this Louis 16th project was at the time. Something to lose your head about (sorry).
Must see when in Paris. So much history, gives a good feel for how extraordinary the design and completion of this Louis 16th project was at the time. Something to lose your head about (sorry).
the line is toooo loooong, took us about 3 hours to got into the entry. In fact they earned a lot for visitor, they should heir more staffs for security check. If you come to visit, I highly recommend you come before it open, so no need to waste your time under the sun for few hours.
Very Beautiful and worth to visit... just one thing... plan two days... the gardens will take a lot of times, but most of them are free to enter and visit.
One of the best place .. Garden is better than actual palace
Must visit place in Paris... But this place is too crowded on Sunday
Huge lines!! H-U-G-E lines! Be prepared to stay at least 1, 2 hours in line! Bring water, snacks, and others things! You'll be staying on the sun, rain... That's quite desrespectfull for everyone. Afterwall, it's not a free site to visit.
Beautiful layout! Well maintained, interactive exhibits. Logistics good be better in the inside. Droves of people funneling into small spaces and lingering to take selfies. That aspect can be annoying. But you can address that by planning to visit during off times. Trust me it is worth the visit. The gardens were my favorite part, and they are nothing short of amazing! It's a must visit
Loved it, but way too crowded! Of course we went on a Sunday, oops. But a must see, and the market square in town is remarkable.
The exterior is nice. However I felt that it's not as great as it is made out to be. I've seen more beautiful palaces in France and Italy, which have lots of beautiful frescos and sculptures.
Stuning, stunning. Be ready for a looong line, so bring water, hats, wet cooling towel types. Enjoy!
Definitely recommend going with a guide, if only to help you shove through the crowds. It's beautiful, but crowded.
Simply Majestic . A reminder of days gone . A sneak peak into the Lives of French Royalty and Emperors . A must see attraction . Set aside a full day and it is worth it . The hall of mirrors is especially mesmerizing. Five stars all the way .
As stunning as I had hoped it would be. Simply AMAZING
Loved the gardens and the estate. Even although I paid for a ticket I didn't go in the Palace. Never seen such a bad queue system for so many people. Not the palaces fault, just such a popular place.
Beautiful! We enjoyed the exquisite rooms, but we all loved the gardens the best. I appreciated the restaurants on the premises.
Amazing place to see more about the history. Excelent!!
The palace is immense. We loved seeing it in all it's splendor. I could imagine Louis the 14th wandering around. I would highly recommend a visit, although give yourself plenty of time as it is so big.
Don't waste tour money. Watch the series and you get a better view without the Parisian attitude and lack of knowledge.
It's pretty impressive. But too crowded. You need an entire day. Make sure to wear good shoes, you will walk a lot. The palace was so crowded you could barely move. Not cheap. Parts of the garden can be accessed for free, but the nice parts require you to buy overpriced tickets.
This castle with his parc is the most beautiful things done by Louis XIV
Lives up to expectation but is wickedly busy during the last weeks of July and all of August. Book ahead if you can and absolutely tag along on a guided tour to get the most out of your visit.
Impressive. Allow 4 hours and try to see the gardens as well as the palace
Versalles again is one whole day trip. Please plan ahead for this beautiful palace and garden
Magnificent. Loved the headsets with information in your own language. A stunning piece of history! The Gardens are amazing too!
Palace is amazing but not amazing enough to queue for 4 hours!
Don't get me wrong, the place is really beautiful, the gardens are great and the rooms within the building are Unbelievably beautiful.
BUT the staff there is, beside a few exceptions, extremely unfriendly and not supportive. The exceptions were the guy on the yard, marking the end of the row and a girl close to the ticket machines who were answering the questions of the people.
We were told to go first to the garden and be back at 17.00 at the queue for the entrance because then would be less people there. So far everything worked out. We were back at 16.45 and were in at 17.15 unfortunately the ground floor was closed at 17.30 not at 18.00. As we complaint the guy locking the doors were shouting at us that he is closing now and we should get lost.
In the second floor the staff at least didn't shout at us but stand in front of pictures were I just wanted to take a foto of....
So, in conclusion the place is beautiful like no second one I saw till now but the staff is complicated.
Definitely not worth the wait. Once you get in, it feels like you are being herded like cattle. Everyone is walking shoulder to shoulder in hot stuffy hallways.
You want to get out of there so fast because of the heat, you dont have time to appreciate the art at all.
I would say the best part was the water hose they brought out during our wait in line. At least there was a slight mist it created in the blistering hot sun.
A must see sighting for when you're planning to visit beautiful architecture
Amazing and very easy to travel to from Paris City center.
What's there to say? It's the nicest house in the world. Except for the volume of visitors it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend seeing this once before you visit the next world.
I love Versailles, but there's a few things you should be aware of: 1) There obviously is no air conditioning, but sometimes the windows will be open. If you get hot easily, stand next to them. Bring a little fan with you too. Sometimes lines will stop out of nowhere, and you won't be near a window. 2) There's so many people! I would not recommend if you're claustrophobic. 3) The gardens are actually quite lovely, but please keep your eyes on the ground as you walk! I was in the Bosquet du Dauphin, and I stepped in a random hole in the ground. My foot rolled over, and I managed to break it. The pain and swelling were so bad, I had to go to the hospital. It completely ruined my trip, as I had a few days left and couldn't leave the hotel room and walk around Paris. 4) The two places I really wanted to see in the gardens were the Baths of Apollo and the Hameau de la Reine, but the Baths were closed and apparently has been closed for some time for renovations. Obviously, with a broken foot, I couldn't walk that far, and the Hameau is very far in the back.
Very busy, I highyly recommend booking an entry slot in advance. The guided tour is also excellent, you got to see parts of the house that were not open to the public by a very informative guide.
Make sure you book timed-entry ticket to visit, saving you hours of queuing under the sun. Also, do bring your drivers license to try the buggie// electrical car // saving you miles of walking to visit other small palaces.
These improvements make visiting Versailles more enjoyable and doable for those who can t stand/ walk long.
Beautiful place, be prepared to walk a full day unless you rent a car. My advise? Don't rent and walk, recommended.
Marvelous and simply awesome. Lot of unseen decoration and completely royal fashion. Monday is holiday here. We went on Tuesday morning by 10.30 and took almost 2 hrs to get inside because of crowd, even in a rainy day. So be careful in planning the trip. You can easily get tickets from the office.
Is a must!!! The palace is amazing! You need 2 hours aprox. for visiting all the rooms... The best room for me is The mirror room !
This was my second time there. It is amazing the nicest palace i have ever seen. My first time i did a tour thru the palace itself and now thru the gardens it is worth the price and the little trip from central paris is such a beautiful place
So much to see here. The gardens are so massive and the fountains are cool. All the backstories...
Visited on a Saturday. It was so busy and packed, it detracted from the experience.
A Must to see which demonstrate Historical French Architecture style.
I enjoyed the palace, but the gardens were amazing!

Few things...
1. Plan on spending 3+ hours if you want to also see the garden. We didn t realize how large this place is when we arrived. My 3 teens and I wanted to visit it since they read about it in French class. They had a good time seeing all the paintings and sculptures.
2. For the newbies, spend 20-30 mins researching the history and cultural significance of the place. You ll appreciate the works of art so much more. Even the details of the exterior were amazing.
3. Save the hassle and take the train if you are staying near Paris center. So much more convenient than the traffic and cost of an Uber.
Hope this was helpful
Quite incredible architecture, shows the opulence of the era. We couldn't go inside because of the queue but was able to walk around the garden which is as incredible as the surrounding buildings
This is a really nice place.
I think the gardens were my favorite spot.
You can pay to go either inside the castle or just to the gardens.
We went on raining time and it was pouring. Still we got a great time. I love the rain!
Hard not to love it. It's very busy though, you definitely want to buy the "skip the line" passport and show up before 9am. Be careful if you purchase through the chateau of Versailles site, tickets are not refundable!
Be prepared for the large crowds!! I would have gotten those tickets with pre booked timing.
Definitely book tickets online first, que's are extremely long at peak times of year aka summer
A great attraction not to be missed if your are visiting Paris. Time ticket highly recommended, the queue is very long to get in both for security check and to get into the Palace.
Really nice experience! You can get the audio guide for free and it explains everything about the palace!! The garden is huge and incredible, I wasn't even able to visit the whole garden!
Wry unique and beautiful palace, with big rooms to walk in with a lot of paintings and historical things.
The garden is very big and beautiful with very gorgeous fountains and green grass.
I am very recommending to visit here
The palace itself is a wonderful relic of a time gone by. However, during a time of health concerns with regards to COVID-19, the Palace of Versailles may not be the best site to visit as there is no crowd control, only hand sanitizing stations at the entrance and staff throughout yelling to keep moving, which was impossible due to the huge number of people present.
I did email the Palace after my visit with my concerns and photos, only to being told that I was wrong and everything they do is in line with French government instructions... Furthermore, I posted these photos on the Palace's facebook page, they were removed shortly after.
If you take the pandemic seriously, this is really not the best time to visit the Palace. There are tickets available for the incredibly beautiful gardens, which is worth a visit and is so spacious, you are in a position to socially distance.
A marvel of architecture and history. Go rested and enjoy. Beautiful scenery, wonderful place.
The palace and gardens themselves are very nice, but it's way too busy and you get almost no information from the audio guide. The flow of people should be managed in another way.
Very interesting Museum.
It's easy go to Metro or by train.
Car isn't necessary in Paris.
If your are traveling to Paris only to see the Eiffel tower than your are missing one of the greatest attraction of Paris. The Versailles palace is one of the must visit place in Paris. But try to keep whole day for it, because it's very big and there are 3 places to visit inside. One is the King's palace second the garden and third the Queen's palace. And you can't miss any one room because every room have different attraction. People who love art and craft should not miss it. Hope to see it again in my life.
Always incredible Recommend also the park and the restaurant Ore.
Fantastic place , absolutely huge ,loads to see ,the room of mirrors and chandeliers is amazing , the grounds are so big you can't see all of it in one day ,even taking the wee train round !!loved it well worth a visit .
Need to figure out way to move crowds quicker, especially on rainy days you are out in elements. Grounds are awesome.
Amazing castle in Versailles, France. This is one of the most beautiful bad important places in the world. The beauty is evident and it is well maintained. The importance is due to the historical events that happened there. There palace is huge and most of it is in its original State as planned by Louis XIV. This is a must in Paris.
Very beautiful green zone, recommended for Paris visitors, very crowded on the entrance to the Palace, but no queues to park. Hint, you can find toilettes in Palace's -1 floor before main exposition, accessible by elevator, this one is clean
Really impressive garden but should be expecting quite a handsome crowd.
Such and cultivating experience. The palace was absolutely breathtaking with its gardens and it s different rooms
I had a great time visiting Versailles. The garden is huge. Be sure to visit on a warm sunny day to get the best experience. I visited in May and many of the fountains were turned off still. The museum is pretty fun. The audio guide was worth it, it had a lot of information.
We could have spent 6 hours here just enjoying the venue.
The line was long. Be sure to get tickets. If you get priority tickets you can skip the ticket holder line. We didn't know there were two sides of the persons with tickets line which is separate from the line on the right for persons without tickets AFTER you get through the security line at the front gate.
The restaurant here had great food. A real time saver from leaving for a cheaper lunch and coming back in. Prices were a little high.
VERSAILLES. ARRIVE EARLY, START WITH THE COURTYARD, CHECKOUT THE REAR GARDEN VIEWS. GET IN THE LINE BEFORE HUGE QUEUES AND GO INSIDE. A TREASURE TROVE AWAITS. WHEN YOUR DONE INSIDE PROCEED TO MARIE ANTOINETTES HAMLET AS THIS IS SUCH A RELAXING AND MAGICAL PLACE AND NOT TO BE MISSED.
Opulent rooms and beautiful gardens. I thought it would be overrated but it's truly something to see.
There is nothing that compares to the palace. It is the epitome of ego and grandeur. There are many sights to see here, but my recommendation is to book your ticket in advance for when the museum opens and show up at least 30 minutes early. There will be a line no matter what, but this will allow you to stay ahead of the worst of it.
After the museum, you must visit the gardens. These can be seen on foot, or if any are available, from rentable electric carts. Either way, they are a splendid experience with plenty of natural beauty, sculptures, and fountains to please anybody.
Absolutely outstanding. Could spend days here. Walking audio tour available in various languages, included in cost. Worth spending the day here and can eat lunch out on the grounds.
Unbelievable opulence. The gardens are incredible. Once you experience Versailles it is easy to understand why the French revolution occurred.
Made the mistake of not purchasing my ticket beforehand. Waiting in the ticket line added an extra 15 minutes to the fast growing entrance line. Make sure you get your ticket in advance!
Otherwise, it's worth the visit. It's a beautiful palace and the audio guide provided me with info I wouldn't have otherwise known. The only downside is how busy and cramped it is inside. Everyone is trying to take photos and it can get really frustrating.
The gardens really made the trip, though. I spent at least two or three hours exploring the grounds.
However, I took a star away because of how expensive it is. For a place that prides itself on showing the immense disparity in wealth between the ruling class and French citizens of that time, there's a little bit of irony in charging 4 euro for the smallest cup of coffee I've ever held.
If you are in Paris, make sure to see this. It's incredible and astounding
Palace is beautiful and the gardens are amazing as well. But the queues are awefully long. Took me 2 hours to get in althought i had bought my tickets beforehand.. and the serpentine queues are out in the open and if its a sweltering hot day you will be exhausted by the time you get in.. but the palace is beautiful and so are the gardens. Another strange rule was to get into the gardens they chargede 8 .. mind you i had paid 20 for the entry.. the garden entry was charged for the musical fountain. Althought i wasnt interested i had to pay to enter the gardens. Bit of a stinker that one. But the gardens are massive...
To visit this palace is an incredible experience and is very important to understand how this great country was built !
Sprawling large space. There is so much to see such things interest you.
Magnificent place, spectacular views! Definitely worths visiting
The palace oversold their tickets for the day resulting in a wait time of more than 2.5 hours. Once we got in, the palace was so crowded that we were shoulder to shoulder in the middle of a swarm moving through the rooms. Not only could we not observe the palace in a crowd of this type but we could not locate the numbers to enter into the audio guide. We we pushed through the entire palace in this manner unable to enjoy any part of the experience. Unless you know your day is a low ticket sale day, I would not recommend this to anyone. You too might waste a day of your once in a life time trip.
Great place to visit. Go to the gardens (free) and rent a golf cart (34 eur)
Amazing. Stayed in gardens all day. Skipped the lines for the Chateau. Should have all buses with especially the pushy Chinese in a separate line so the rest of us don't have to stand in line waiting along side them. It is torture.
Major must see attraction... can easily spend half a day just walking in the gardens.
Lots to see amazing Gardens and Nice cup of tea in there coffee shop restaurant!!
Something to do if you're near it, nothing wow although you can enjoy a nice walk around if you're accompanied, didn't enter the palace but heard that isn't it that great either..
Great place to experience French culture in the past. The lake behind is spectacular!
Booked in advance to avoid queing. Still had to question for an hour to get in. Place is great, but run ineffectively, IE you can't buy any drinks., Except the one restaurant.
