The palace itself is a wonderful relic of a time gone by. However, during a time of health concerns with regards to COVID-19, the Palace of Versailles may not be the best site to visit as there is no crowd control, only hand sanitizing stations at the entrance and staff throughout yelling to keep moving, which was impossible due to the huge number of people present.

I did email the Palace after my visit with my concerns and photos, only to being told that I was wrong and everything they do is in line with French government instructions... Furthermore, I posted these photos on the Palace's facebook page, they were removed shortly after.

If you take the pandemic seriously, this is really not the best time to visit the Palace. There are tickets available for the incredibly beautiful gardens, which is worth a visit and is so spacious, you are in a position to socially distance.
