I love Versailles, but there's a few things you should be aware of: 1) There obviously is no air conditioning, but sometimes the windows will be open. If you get hot easily, stand next to them. Bring a little fan with you too. Sometimes lines will stop out of nowhere, and you won't be near a window. 2) There's so many people! I would not recommend if you're claustrophobic. 3) The gardens are actually quite lovely, but please keep your eyes on the ground as you walk! I was in the Bosquet du Dauphin, and I stepped in a random hole in the ground. My foot rolled over, and I managed to break it. The pain and swelling were so bad, I had to go to the hospital. It completely ruined my trip, as I had a few days left and couldn't leave the hotel room and walk around Paris. 4) The two places I really wanted to see in the gardens were the Baths of Apollo and the Hameau de la Reine, but the Baths were closed and apparently has been closed for some time for renovations. Obviously, with a broken foot, I couldn't walk that far, and the Hameau is very far in the back.
