Worth the visit if there is no line to get inside....
Worth the visit if there is no line to get inside. Hot tip should be to keep looking up at the ceiling.

Beautiful, but why only 10% of the fountains are turned on!!
We only went for the gardens as I read negative rewiews online about the inside. We went in january and 99% of the statues were covered... There is nothing special about these gardens in the winter and wouldnt recommend going. Waste of time. Maybe its better in the summer..
Fantastic place and grounds, go early to try and miss the crowds
A palace full of history. The night show in the fountain garden was fantastic.
This is an amazing place. You'll be glad you made the effort to get there. My suggestion used to try to go with a tour. If you get there and there is a big crowd, go to the Gardens first and come back to the castle around 2pm.
Great history place. Be prepared for big walking tour
Lovely history and it's just beautiful. Make sure you pre book it online with the time slot booking else be ready for a wait time anywhere from 2 hours and above.
You must see it to believe it. It's opulence at it's best. Buy a ticket in advance to skip the very long lines.
Game plan: eat breakfast at Ore with passport to cut the line when done and don't need to wait to buy tickets or enter the palace!
(100 years late sorry), Treaty of Versailles kinda lead to WW2 so not very cool
Beautiful palace. It does take all day to see everything. Amazing garden.
I loved this museum. It was great to see the famous hall of mirrors. The garden s we're actually my favorite. They span acres and acres.
Wonderful, historic place to visit. We had a local guide due to the fact that we were traveling with a Viking river cruise group, and she was extremely delightful and informative. I think it would be a difficult place to visit without a tour guide, as there isn't much description about what you're seeing.
Like most historic landmarks, this is not an easy place for someone to visit with mobility issues. As a major tourist attraction, it's also crowded. However, it's truly a must-see if you're traveling to Paris! If you're not familiar with the history of the place, I'd suggest doing a quick internet search on the history of the Palace before you go so you understand better what you are seeing.
It was a magical place. Beware, lots of walking!!! Lots of history in the castle. Audiobooks made it great to learn even more about the castle. It was snowy when I came and very slippery both indoors and outdoors. It was hard to find the estate of Trianon, but did eventually find it. The gardens were beautiful but very muddy and slippery.
The numbers for the audioguide were wrong on the walls on the first floor. This was frustrating.
My only major complaint was they didnt have an area roped off when they first opened, so that is where I entered. Later, trying to go back to that area, which had an abundance of maps that I needed, I was stopped by a security guard. He didn't understand that that was where I came from and that I just wanted a map. He kept saying no, I didnt come from there, but it definitely was. All I wanted was a map. This guy also was very insistent on going in a certain way. I ended up walking the same part of the castle 3 times. He tried to upsell me to an expensive restaurant rather than a cafe. In the future, have the areas roped off before doors open to avoid situations like this. Also, have enough maps and maintain the areas with maps to ensure it is stocked.
Wow. Just wow. The main buildings take at least two hours, but dont forget the rest of the grounds. Many things to do and see. Row a boat in the cross shaped lake of Luis XIV. The grounds are really well kept. Entire grounds will take a day
Definitely worth the visit but not totally blown away. It was very busy, and kinda repetitive in places.
The paintings were the best part and be sure to look up so you see all the ones on the ceiling too.
You can't really imagine such enormous wealth until you visit and see how the French royals lived.
Just an absolutely amazing experience! Be sure to arrive early to avoid very long lines into the main castle during the tourist season, although we got a tip that lines were much smaller after 3 pm. Be sure to enjoy the stunning gardens that span the vast property of the sun king. We learned the tough way to bring good shoes, and to remember cash so you can hop onto the trains that shuttle people around the property. The pictures online do not do this place justice.
Amazing. The little restaurant inside the palace is cheap and good.
This palace is beautiful and you can easily spend an entire day here. After a trip across Europe with Paris being our last stop, we decided to take the trip to Versailles to view the palace and it was magical. Well maintained and very organized. I would suggest arriving early as the line to visit becomes very lengthy .. VERY quickly! Also the gardens are magical, be sure to enjoy the moment and not hide behind your cameras!
Beautiful palace. Grand gardens. Both on massive scale. Early times ticket for 9am meant that we skipped the queue and were the first in.. it got very busy later with massive queue when we left by early afternoon.
One of the most amazing places I have been. A MUST SEE when in Paris.
Its stunning and breath taking the sheer size of it and the opulence. You would expect the cafe to be expensive but it was very reasonable and the baguettes were lovely as was the wine. The gardens are stunning and immaculately kept. Would highly recommend
Huge and magnificent! Incredible to think people lived in it...
It's meh.
It's worth seeing some of it, but it gets a bit repetitive after a while. None of the fountains were on/working and things didnt seem that well maintained, especially considering what a MASSIVE tourist attraction it is.
You should check it out if you have half a day but just go through it as fast as you can. You'll get the idea.
Would be a lot nice if the beautiful fountains weren't filled with stagnant water. Lord knows enough people come there so that they could pay to run them.
The place where world war 1 came to an end and peace s was restored upon the earth. Amazing architecture. Flamboyant French kings displayed their wealth to the fullest. Must see!!
Amazing piece if history. Beautiful castle and excellent, informative tour guide.
The lines to enter the palace are enormous and the visit to the museum becomes tiring because of the crowds that clusters in the halls. Despite this, the visit is highly recommended! The gardens are incredible and gigantic. Worth, also, a visit to the palaces Trianon, the property of the Queen. Get ready to walk a lot!
The system of the cue is absolutely atrocious and unclear. You need to stay in two cues which is not clear beforehand. It is also not clear that you can pass the first cue to get a ticket with credit card. The explanation and the signposting is very unclear and chaotic and the waiting times are much longer than they would be if the operation would be managed more efficiently. Some simple and clear explanations would help a lot.
Really neat museum. We had a guided tour which is the only way to see it.
Great mix of historical opulence and everyday accessibility and a fun day out in the sun!
I can't stress this point enough, get there early! There is imense tourist presure here and if you are not one of the first in line the wait to get through security is huge. Last year I never got in because the line was 3hrs+ long. This More
Beautiful palace with astounding Baroque-style architecture. You could spend hours here. It costs more to check out the gardens, but also a worthwhile activity.
The history of the palace is amazing and palace is incredible
Great gardens worth spending time here. Palace is ok but one should just quickly go through it.
The size and grandeur of Versailles Palace is hard to convey.
Fantastic place, but get the VIP skip the line tour or you will be stuck with hordes of people working your way through Versailles like it's the Tokyo Yamamote line at rush hour. When you get out into the gardens rent the gold.cart so much fun, at some of the site they sell wine in the half bottles for 4.20. Please note you are only allowed to drink while inside and driving the golf cart. You are not allowed to walk and drink, ya I know, but that's the rule only while in the golf cart no walking and drinking.
Great historical monument but no crowd control and therefore completely saturated with visitors
Mesmerizing, breathtaking and definitely a walk back in history.
A very big palace. It will take almost a day for seeing the palace completely. 18 for the palace and 20 for the whole estate.
The lawns are so huge, there are mini bus service which takes your around the lawns for 8 .
You can also rent battery operated cars for 32 per hour.
Impressive architecture, with some excellent art and wonderful grounds. I must admit, however, that there are only so many lavish rooms I can take.
this place is very beautiful, but you need to get there early, because it's crowded. the gardens are huge, so it's worth to rent the car. it's about 30 euros an hour, but you can see almost everything without getting tired.
Loved the artistry garden and the beauty of the Palace
It's a huge, spectacular and worth visiting monument. Very well landscaped and mainted gardens. Vast parking space.
Queuing is a major problem, the timed tickets are useless and give your self 2 hours queueing time for entry to the grounds. The gardens are really pretty but they aren't as maintained as I would expect.
An unbelievable place. There is nowhere like this in the world for the sheer scale of the chateau and the opulence of the surroundings. Astounding but at the same time obscene in its expression of wealth and power. You can see why the French Revolution happened!
Lots of history and beauty here. Got to experience the opulence of the 1600s, timeless luxury
Palace you should not miss.. while Booking add entry for the gardens too.. and plan evening light show..
Long queues and underwhelming interior design. Lots of golden stuff. I prefer la Galerie des Guerres to better-known Galerie des Glaces.
Incredible! Don't miss the gardens. Allow at lest 6 hours. I'd recommend spending the entire day. The garden cafes are great and not too overly priced. Download an app before you go for the best experience, it's worth a couple dollars.
Nice place to walk around and gaze the french royal palace
Tour of the main palace at a leisurely pace will take 4 to 5 hours so if you join a tour its recommended to book for a day trip (instead of half) and take the chance to explore the town with any spare time
Massive palace with even bigger outside area. To see all and not stress you can easily spend a whole day here. Booking tickets in advance to skip the massive queues is essential! There are lots of overpriced snack bars and restaurants, so best to bring some own supplies, also when getting lost in the huge long winded gardens.
Rent bikes!!! You won't regret it. The price is very affordable. The garden is huge, and we were able to appreciate it all. The fall colors were amazing.
The furnitures are currently missing, but still it is beautiful. Plan about 4-5 hours to spend there.
Incredibly opulent. So much art and so vast. Each room, and there are many, is unique its own way. You wind your way through wondering, "If these walls could talk." Take the self guided tour and make sure to use the recorded guide with headphones.
Very nice. Long lines to get in, but it was amazing.
The best way IMO to experience the greatness and richness of French history!
Beautiful gardens, you could spend a whole day in the gardens seeing all the hidden treasures
Fine place, awful organisation. Thousands of visitors and ONE entrance with TWO security checkpoints. Waiting for a TWO-hour tour for THREE hours is more than crazy. But your e-tickets are not refundable ...
Place itself is ok, not great. Certainly not worth the 2 hours of 3 different queues to get in. Much better things to do with a day in paris than waste it here.
Not that special and there are way too many people in order to enjoy it properly (around 2-3 hours wait to get in). Absolutely not worth the 28 Euros
Underwhelming, I guess I had a high expectation of this place. If you're a first timer in Paris, come here if you have more than 3 or 4 days to spend, otherwise you can skip it and see other stuff Paris has to offer :)
A place of dreams. Do provide the whole day and explore everything inside the palace. I promise you that you have not seen anything like it
A truly spectacular experience. You should arrive first thing in the morning and plan to stay til late afternoon if you truly want to explore the palace it's grounds and the smaller palaces on the property. You MUST get a reservation ticket with a time on it other wise you will wait hours in the sun in the summer waiting to get in. It took me about an hour to explore the palace. I was overwhelmed by the number of people in each room. They need to manage flow better. It became claustrophobic at times and I didn't stay as long as I would have liked to because the number of people pushing me to get a better photo caused a unenjoyable experience inside the main Palace. However the gardens are beautiful as are the smaller palaces which I enjoyed much more as there are far fewer people and I could actively enjoy being there.
If you don t have a timed ticket don t go. The line was over two hours in the sun... palace was nice.
Super beautiful and totally worth the trip outside of central Paris. This place is loaded with artifacts and history, could easily spend over 5 hours here.
Beautiful palace. Long waiting lines of 2 hours. Confusing directions to access the palace.
A beautiful museum. It requires a few hour to visit.
The Palace of Versailles is the best Palace I've been to hands down.
Wow!!! Beautiful place! However, I went in winter time and the garden were dry and ugly. But the palace is amazing! My favorite was the room of mirrors!!
Wonderful experience, When you visit Paris you must visit this amazing palace, Beautiful historical architecture and nice gardens, And the good thing there is a train goes there directly from Paris to Versailles,
Wish it was kept up better, Louis the XIV is rolling over in his grave about how dirty it is....the restaurant is amazing & worth every penny
A super palace and gardens to visit. Spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Nice restaurants and seating rooms. Many many chambers and paintings depicting historic battles. Gift shop and boutique.
Toilets could be cleaned more and seats changed as some are worn and tatty and not too hygrnic considering the rest of the palace is kept in good order. Car park expensive and gardens mini trains you have to pay for which could be free considering you pay to see the gardens if you wish to see them. Otherwise a good whole day out.
France
.. Oh what a beautiful museum.
Amazing but expect long lines, we waited for two hours just to get in. Then we got squished into small rooms with 1000of other tourists. Beautiful rooms but you need to be very careful for pickpocketing
Palace itself is wonderful, but the size of the crowd really detracts from the experience. It also simply just does not seem safe. Pro tip, look for a bicycle riding tour of the grounds. That will provide a view that you really can t get by foot. They can also get you to special entry points if you feel adventurous. Check out the Hamlet in the broader grounds.
You must see this place, but you will have to put up with big crowds. The palace gets jam-packed, but the gardens are so immense that that those people seem to thin out into nothing.
