I own a 2017 Elantra, have been visiting this place for maintainence since it's close to home. Though it's a small place, I find the service excellent. The service manager Sean has helped me a few times above and beyond my expectations. He went extra mile to help me and gave me piece of mind. I would say he is the best for service advise for my over 25 years as a car owner.
Also, the drivers for courtesy rides are excellent. They are very polite, friendly and professional. I will go back again and again.

On November 2017, I visited the Don Valley North Hyundai dealership, and was assisted by Lillian Chen. She was not only friendly, but caring and kind. There was no hint of rush or impatience the entire time she helped me she took plenty of quality time to explain and make suggestions. That's why I bought my first SUV (Santa Fe Sport) within half an hour. She always keeps in touch with me by phone and wechat, asks how is going of my SUV and my driving feeling. Disclaimer, this is not my 1st Hyundai purchase, however this was my 1st experience with Don Valley North Hyundai.
I bought a used 2016 Elantra from this dealership in March of 2016, to which I soon found and was sold a lemon. After a couple of weeks of driving, the tire pressure was low, the heat shield vibrated loudly, and worst of all -> the breaks felt very soft (sponge-like) weak.
I took the car into the dealership, and found that they didn t believe me. They said they looked of the car before the sale, and again when I took it in to be looked at. They said everything was ok. After insisting that they look at the car again, they took it for a test drive and confirmed my fears. The brakes were shot, the heat shield vibrated a lot, and the tires were indeed low. Geez, you would think they would have checked all of this before selling me a car. To which I was told during the bill of sale period, that the car was solid, with new brakes. Straight Lie.
I again had an issue with the trunk releasing by itself. I didn t know what was going on. I took it and found out that they didn t believe me - again. They said there was no issue and sent me packing.
I took the car to another dealership and they found the issue with the trunk release and they corrected the problem. Guess what, no more issues with the trunk releasing itself! You can imagine how scary this is, whether it be on the road, or in my driveway.
Today - it is currently the middle of winter, and on a cold start I hear a vibration coming from the location of where the heat shield is located. I said not again, so I called the service department and took it in. (I also had an issue with the tire pressure, and asked if they could take a look at that too while I was there.) After 90 mins of my pre-booked appointment, they told me there was nothing wrong with the heat shield, and they noticed a minor issue with the tire pressure and was about to send me packing again. I said no, and looked at my tire and it looked like they didn t do anything with the tire itself. I said look again, and the service rep realized I had caught him in an obvious lie.
Still waiting on my call, however I ll tell you this now. I will never use their service department again, nor buy a car from this dealership again.

Fast forward to 2021 during the pandemic.
I started bringing my mom grocery shopping a lot and realized I needed more passenger and trunk space. The 2021 Sante Fe caught my eye. The front is similar to the KONA which I love so much. It looks like a big brother version of the car. I have a Husky so I was definitely looking at the mid trim with leather seat option from the get go.
I wasn t sure what shopping for a car would look like during the pandemic or if the dealership was even open so I shot Spencer an email to check in and let him know what I was looking at and the price point I could work with. As I mentioned in my previous review - I really hate nonsensical drawn out bargaining - so I m always happy that I can be honest with my needs and what I have to work with prior to stepping foot into the dealership. I ve spoken to other dealers before as we often get promotions in the mail, but they always try to get me into the dealership before speaking to me. This is quite narrow minded especially when there are COVID 19 restrictions in place.
We set an appointment and I provided all the info needed and when I arrived Spencer had the two proposals I required ready - and of course a test drive. The dealership was clean and I could visibly see social distancing requirements and mask orders in place. It s a comfort that they take the situation seriously. A short and sweet experience.
For financing I worked with Steven Shin and Lillian. Maybe I m lucky, but I find myself always having great conversations with the reps as they have very positive and welcoming attitudes. The paperwork was very straight forward once I decided on add ons. Follow up questions via email are answered promptly.
I m so glad that the dealer doesn t just drop off the face of the earth after a sale is made. Continuous service makes all the world of difference and that s why I ve always gone back to DVN :) They don t push unnecessary packages onto you for the sake of their bottom line. They care - and to me that s what matters. I should also probably mention that the trade in pricing is fair. You wouldn t need to worry about being ripped off in the process of upgrading your car. Take it from the person who loves shiny new toys and has gone through four cars in the last decade!

This review is directed at the sales team. I bought a used 2014 hyundai elantra from them. There were a few miscommunications around insurance which had me waiting there for a few hours to get my insurance confirmation, which is understandable. When I went to drive away in the car it would not start. The sales team gave me a boost and told me to keep the car running for a few minutes and it shouls be fine. The next day when I went to go to work the car still would not start. I had to call CAA and waited over an hour which made me late to work. Carson and the service team were awesome and got this fixed but that doesn't change the fact that the sales team didn't do their job to ensure the car was working properly to begin with. No compensation whatsoever for my wasted time. I'd think twice before purchasing a vehicle here.

BAD DEALERSHIP!
I purchased a 2012 Sonata ltd with 22,000km on her back in March 2014 from Don Valley North Hyundai.
My wife drove this vehicle for the past 2 years. I took over in Dec, 2015.
This past Thursday my car died in the middle of the 401 express lane near Pickering with 75,000km.
It gave me NO warning and the dash lights came on and the car just shut down. I had no gas and could barely get out of the way of traffic. I was lucky enough to get over to the shoulder before narrowly being missed by a tractor trailer and almost losing my life.
I emailed Don Valley North, talked to the person on their chat and called them and have had ZERO reply back from anyone there. These people have ZERO accountability.
After getting this to another Hyundai dealership closer to me on Friday it turns out my engine seized due to a recall issue. The most ironic part is that I received the recall notice for machined pieces of metal getting stuck in the engine just this past Monday. 4 days after the engine seized on the Highway.
There are massive recalls in the USA plus lawsuits going on against Hyundai for the same 2011-12 and even up to 2015 models for the engine just dying on people.
Don't let this happen to you or your family.
They want to replace the short block and give this car back to me howeverI narrowly escaped death in this vehicle and am scared to ever drive it again and on top of it all the people at Don Valley North Hyundai haven't even called to offer an apology, replacement or anything.
Stay away from these people and maybe even Hyundai all together.
Hyundai in the USA issued recalls on nearly 500,000 Sonata's in my model and earlier this past September, 2015 for the exact same engine issues.
Hyundai in Canada has only begun to issue these notices as of a few days ago.
Are the laws in Canada different? Are Canadian drivers lives less valuable then other places? Why wasn't my car recalled sooner to avoid this happening in the middle of the 401 express?
By the way finally after places this google review about the dealership they called me. Their reply on here is nothing short of terrible.

They had a vehicle for sale online..i called and a customer service rep called me back to ask me for my offer and ensured someone would call me back by the end of the day. I waited 5 days and no one called so i called and spoke to a rep. He said he'd speak to his sales manager and call me within an hour..fast forward a week and a half later..still no call...you guys expect to make sure when your customer service SUCKS?? Take care of your customers. I took my business elsewhere.

But recently got a call about they have some customers want to buy pre-owned cars like my model, asking me if I am OK to walk out of the lease early.
Sure, why not. But when I got there and talk them. They said they do not want the car if I am not buying/leasing a new one. This is just a waste of my time, which they could have ask me on the phone earlier. What about the customers who want to buy pre-owned cars like my model? The sales explained the math of buying/selling is not working which they should have calculated before calling me.
I mean, I think Don Valley North Hyundai is just trying to sell some new cars to their existing customer (Maybe making a little money from the pre-owned meanwhile), but with no proper explanation and misleading their existing customer.
Well, by doing that, you lose a customer and everyone he could have talk about cars, forever.

Had a warranty issue with starter. Part had to be ordered from Korea. They wanted me to cross my fingers and hope that my car starts in the dead of winter with minus 20 temps. Poor service and poor resolution. Crazy that my car has been there since the 6th of April and it is now May 12th and I still have a loaner vehicle.
Service used to be better years ago but nowadays location has got quite busy and follow ups, shuttle service and so on are not as good as before.

A lot of time and patience need to be invested to train good people. Hopefully, Cato finds good advisors share his workload. I went to Don Valley North Hyundai, on Tue Oct 30, 2018 to put on winter tires and was very impressed by the service. It being my first time there and being someone who works in a customer service environment, it was the best service I have seen and received. What struck me was all the staff that I observed while waiting in the lounge were friendly, polite, corteuos and seemed to like what they do. They talked nicely to all customers even when I noticed one lady who was upset about something. The guys at the information area were calm and talked to her nicely. By the time she left, she was smiling. I must say this was one dealership I'm certain to work with going forward. Dont buy Hyundai. You will regret every single day. Trust me. It has so many issues. As owner of Sonata, its my biggest mistake of my life.
Came in to do an outright cash purchase on a 2018 Tucson on condition that I get 3500 trade in for my 2008 Tucson. Brand loyalty and a "blue sale" is what brought me in. They agreed to the offer.
I made the mistake of believing they would charge the price that is specified online with the accessories I choose less my trade in. I signed and am now waiting on my car which is taking 6 days for delivery despite being told it was in their other lot nearby.
I did the simple math, turns out they actually charged me a little over $500 than what the online price is less the $3500 trade in.
I emailed the sales person and was told that the $500+ is a "dealer prep fee" to clean and detail the car and is charged to all customers. A Google search will show multiple hits stating that this is a well known scam and should be avoided.
I feel ripped off. I don't like my experience and regret going to this dealership all the while I have yet to even get my car. I'm sure the car will be fine once I get it with years of reliable use but I lack confidence or trust in this place and find no joy in picking up a new car from this place and once again to pick up/install the back ordered rims/tires that I also purchased.
If I can give no star I would have. Scheduled to go in for oil change, swap winter tires at 11:30am. We were told the service should be done around 1ish. At 2:45pm we called to find out but no one picks up either the advisor Martin or receptionist at service department. I tried live chat and the agent said someone will be in touch shortly. We called again at 3:38pm, 4:15pm, 4:30pm. Someone or the advisor will give you a call shortly and that s all we got. It might be busy but the customer deserves at least an update. At 5pm we got a call finally saying that the car was ready at 2:45pm, and the advisor said he called. No missed call no voicemail. If he tried to call or someone from the department tried to contact us during the day, we wouldn t be stuck in traffic after 5pm trying to pick up the car. When we arrived, the advisor was with another unhappy customer and so someone else was helping us to check out. Great! Martin is a nice guy but this is not customer service.
Excellent service from Harold in Sales and Lillian in Finance. They helped us through the process and we are very happy with the purchase and their service. Maybe we'll visit again in a few years to upgrade to an EV.

I purchased a G70 with the dealer working with Trisha. She was very helpful and patient with my decision making. It was a very enjoyable experience and the entire Genesis experience is a lot smoother than I thought since there is no need for haggling for price between offers as it was a fixed price purchase. I didn t feel any pressure to buy right away. The staff were also constantly sanitizing and minimizing contact which I appreciate during this pandemic. Would definitely return again!

I would say that I didn t expect too much going here since the service department didn t left me too much to come back for a couple of years back, but the sales team. Specially Eric was patient and caring and very clear on all the things we were actually getting for our new car. We brought a trade in and came out really happy. Not pushy on getting extra perks that we weren t interested in so that was very nice. Also he went the extra mile and explain every detail on the car itself on the delivery date. Would definitely look for him in the future.

I was greeted cheerfully by a demure salesperson - Lillian Chen - on Apr 21 when I visited your Dealership the 1st time. Within 10-15 Minutes I realised the she was a Most Competent Staff who knew ALL the Nuances & Technical Benefits of the Vehicle& its Engineering Functions too. In the next 30 Minutes we walked through 6 Cars - she had displayed the Salient Features on Each of these 6 Cars & arrived at the most Suitable Vehicle for me conducive to my Needs.
So within about an hour or slightly more - after Test Drive - I was Sold by the Professionalism of Lillian Chen.
She took a very Mature Stand when Prices were being discussed in the 2nd meeting & the Intensity of the Negotiations could have made it a Deal Breaker. Instead Lillian Chen rose to the occasion expected of her - clinced the Deal making her a DEAL Maker.
Even during the handing over of Vehicle - Lillian conformed to all of her Commitments & delivered a Fully Saticfactory Product Vehicle to me.

From the time I reached out through online inquiry, Run took good care of me, from start to finish. Toulla and Susan in Finance were great too. The people in charge of delivery were not great, obviously very rushed, left all kinds of plastic and elastics everywhere Run and I had to peel off.. still found more yesterday, front Windshield on the interior not clean(hard for me to reach windshield), Run gave me a cloth to ensure I could clean everything we didn't see upon delivery.
