Disclaimer, this is not my 1st Hyundai purchase, however this was my 1st experience with Don Valley North Hyundai.
I bought a used 2016 Elantra from this dealership in March of 2016, to which I soon found and was sold a lemon. After a couple of weeks of driving, the tire pressure was low, the heat shield vibrated loudly, and worst of all -> the breaks felt very soft (sponge-like) weak.
I took the car into the dealership, and found that they didn t believe me. They said they looked of the car before the sale, and again when I took it in to be looked at. They said everything was ok. After insisting that they look at the car again, they took it for a test drive and confirmed my fears. The brakes were shot, the heat shield vibrated a lot, and the tires were indeed low. Geez, you would think they would have checked all of this before selling me a car. To which I was told during the bill of sale period, that the car was solid, with new brakes. Straight Lie.
I again had an issue with the trunk releasing by itself. I didn t know what was going on. I took it and found out that they didn t believe me - again. They said there was no issue and sent me packing.
I took the car to another dealership and they found the issue with the trunk release and they corrected the problem. Guess what, no more issues with the trunk releasing itself! You can imagine how scary this is, whether it be on the road, or in my driveway.
Today - it is currently the middle of winter, and on a cold start I hear a vibration coming from the location of where the heat shield is located. I said not again, so I called the service department and took it in. (I also had an issue with the tire pressure, and asked if they could take a look at that too while I was there.) After 90 mins of my pre-booked appointment, they told me there was nothing wrong with the heat shield, and they noticed a minor issue with the tire pressure and was about to send me packing again. I said no, and looked at my tire and it looked like they didn t do anything with the tire itself. I said look again, and the service rep realized I had caught him in an obvious lie.
Still waiting on my call, however I ll tell you this now. I will never use their service department again, nor buy a car from this dealership again.
