Bad experience I paid $50 for an OPIgel mini manicure, and guess what? Less than 4 hours, it started to chipped, so I had to go back to the store to get it fixed on the same day,and the staff responded its like my mistake and did not apologize at all , when I expressed my complaint, she just answered
' don't worry about it, I will fix it for free, you don't have to pay!' Well, its not about money, its the time wasted that I had to go there for the second time on the same day, I went there paid a bit more , expected more quality work done but its not worth it at all, manicure wasn't done correctly either. The staff is not friendly at all, will not recommend friends to go there for sure . Don't bother make your complaint to them, they dont care at all.

Overpriced, limited selection, missing key brands listed as having on their website. I've spent too many hours trying to find sizes that fit me, and I'm very average, than should ever be necessary. They seem to think that everyone is either tiny or extremely overweight.

Bought furniture. Arrived 1 piece at a time over half a year. The back support snapped off one day and almost broke my pregnant wife's neck. Slow and unresponsive customer care. Took another half year to replace it. I don't recommend the furniture department here.

Great 'window shopping's and sometimes great sale purchases of actual needs you require. Some products absurd prices but I'm a sensible budget girl! Somewhat confusing at this time as they are renovating big time. Follow directions ... Carefully. Be patient.

Probably one of the worst retail experiences I have had in Sydney. The place is a maze for starters, which wouldn't be an issue if the staff were willing to help, however unfortunately they were not. After finding the particular product I wanted myself using my phone and showing the first staff member I dealt with she eventually resigned and advised she was with a customer and pointed me in the direction of someone else, who similarly barely attempted to assist me under the similar guise that she was with a customer. So after spending 15 minutes + making my own enquiries and witnessing the staff members who had sledged they were with customers mingle and laugh with each other I eventually was forced to give up.

Horrible experience at David Jones. I called up and had them put aside a jacket that I was informed was on sale for $99 dollars. I wanted it for my friends hens party tomorrow. I had it put aside for two hours. I rushed from Parramatta to the city to buy the jacket. The store in the city is an absolute mess right now. No escalaters, only lifts which are not convienant. Had to wait for 20 minutes for the jacket to be found. I was then told it was 340 dollars and not 99, eventhough it was clearly placed under a sign that said 99 dollars. If I wanted it I had to pay 3.5 times the price. Considering I had travelled all that way and the hens party was tomorrow I bought it. On the way out of the maze that is DJs in the city the alarm went off because a security tag had been left on. I then had to go down two levels and through the maze once more to get the security tag taken off. Will never purchase from David Jones again, bad service and misleading advertising. You have enough people working there to put the stock on the right racks. Despite the managers claims that a customer must have put it there, which I do not believe because there were two jackets there. If I could have given you less than one star I would have.

An upmarket department store, with an annoying free WiFi. The WiFi signal is patchy, even within the store; think of it as a way for the management just to tick the box. In reality, their free WiFi is almost unusable for the customers. The quality of their plush toys are very good, with very good design too; their price reflects that too, though. They also have this posh ambiance. Though they have a free piano concerto for the visitors or those who accompany the shopper, they only have 2 chairs for the waiting people to sit on - again, so their management can tick off the box, but in reality it's impractical if not useless.

Positives: clean place, did a good job, love that they use OPI
Negatives: it cost me $145 for a pedicure/manicure with shellac... I expected it to cost more than normal but I honestly don't know how that's justified. Also I asked for a mini pedicure and they gave me a full one anyway, the lady I had was pretty rude, even when I apologised for misunderstanding which pedicure I was getting (after they made the mistake)

I decided to treat myself by getting my brows done at DJs, rationalising that as they're a bit more expensive they must be a safe bet. I have ended up with too-dark, wonky eyebrows that I'm having to fix myself. Never again.

Guys, you should NOT be selling designer bags if y...

Guys, you should NOT be selling designer bags if you accept scratched up and marked up bags back into stock. Today I bought a Chloe Tess bag in Large, Motty Grey. I stupidly didn't check it before leaving the store... I got home and it has a big scratch across the front of the bag and a crease mark, as though it's been used for a while. This is a $2600 handbag, David Jones!

I brought it back immediately, and the only other one in stock in your Elizabeth street store is in EVEN WORSE CONDITION. It had grubby little marks and what looked like coffee stains. Why on earth are you, firstly, accepting bags back that are in such terrible condition in the first place? And then secondly, placing them back into your inventory to try to sell to other customers?!

Now I have to wait for the most disinterested looking store manager in the world to check with Barangaroo to see if the only two other bags in stock in New South Wales are brand new. Let's hope they treat their stock and customers better than your Elizabeth Street store does.

After this experience, I will never buy another item from David Jones. These are luxury items that you're selling. You need to have higher standards in regards to the condition of the bag you're willing to accept back into stock.

NEVER AGAIN.

UPDATE: The Barangaroo store had 3 bags, all were in terrible condition. Only 5 bags in stock, in New South Wales, and all of them were damaged/stained/marked in some way.

They ended up checking with Bourke Street Mall, who had a new bag in stock. They shipped it to me. When it arrived, it wasn't in a box. They had shoved the bag in an express post bag, with only the dust bag and a flimsy bit of bubble wrap. Again, just appalling treatment of a designer bag. I should go straight to the vendor and let them know what kind of reputation DJs is giving their brand name.

Also, I've now had this bag in my possession for 2 months, and it's still in great condition, and I'm not exactly gentle with my bags. So I have NO IDEA how 5 bags in their inventory were so badly messed up.

It was just ridiculous. But if you're looking to spend $1k+ plus on a bag, do yourself a favour and skip David Jones. Sure, they sometimes have good sales and discounts, but the hassle to get good service and the quality you're paying for, just isn't there.

I have enjoyed shopping in store at DJ's for years, but my experience with their online store was horrendous. I placed an order that included a bonus card, for click and collect. They notified me my order was ready for pickup, but had cancelled half of the items (and the bonus card) without notifying me. Management response to the complaint has been underwhelming.

A huge waste of time that resulted in me eventually getting my money back after wasting a heap of time. Go in store or go elsewhere.

Celine bag section. If you care about after sales service then I would advise to steer clear, simple question regarding cleaning recommendations was met with a hurried, almost hostile response.

Refused to recommend anything apart from third party service, claiming that if recommendation was given then they would be liable for damages.
Seemed very keen to get us away from the display and move on to the next customer. Got exasperated very quickly and slightly hostile in manner and speech.

Very disappointed.

To save everyone the trouble of dealing with anyone there I've attached the recommended third party cleaning service, I had to take a photo because they only had one card.

Great after sales service from supposed expert purveyor of luxury brands.

Great store with plenty of branded varieties to choose from. Premium quality clothing is available here for a reasonable price. The store is so big it can be mistaken for a shopping mall. There are two buildings one for him and one for her. Staff are courteous and friendly. I liked my visit here.

This was one of the biggest department stores in Sydney. It has 2 separate buildings with each building going 7? floors. They are connected by a breezeway, so if the weather is bad you do not have to leave! In the middle of the two stories is a super high end section.

They had some decent sales, but we didn't buy anything because after the exchange rate it was just about the same price as in the states and our luggage was already at capacity.

Overall it's a good department store, chose it over Myer in this case as they have most of the same products often with a better range and better presented (for the same price). I find it easier to get a storeperson to help me as on average I see more staff on the floor. But still, it's just a department store and if you aren't bothered by such things then it's hard to distinguish. Oh the DJs women's bathrooms are also much cleaner and generally less busy.

I would give 0 star if I can. The design of the carrying bag is extremely stupid. If you buy an item with a middle size box (a kettle). You will get an oversized bag and you almost dragging the item because the handle is ridiculously long and make everything clumsy.

In terms of product range at a David Jones, this is as good as it gets. The staff are mainly friendly, but not a fan of the split design separating men's and women's clothes in different buildings connected via bridge. In saying all of that, the highlight is the kids toy section on the top floor of women's building. It's outstanding and even has a Build a Bear!

When I went it was not very busy, and the store is very spacious - except for the Food Hall. Saying that, the staff seemed not interested in helping, and I think management had decided to save money by turned the aircon off. It was stuffy and sweltering in the store, when I mentioned it they said it was just 'an old building'

Barely any staff around and the ones who are there are so rude, especially 'Cara' from the women's shoe department on Level 7. You don't like your job? Get another one because you don't belong in a retail and customer service role. Your unhelpful and passive attitude is not good for business. This is why customers like myself are purchasing stock online direct with the designer/brand, and not supporting department stores like DJs anymore.

Visited the women's shoes department a few days ago. A salesperson called Alvin, made sure I had a terrible experience. He was very reluctant to help, disappeared from time to time and insisted that I purchase the wrong shoe size since it was on sale. Finally, when I was about to leave, he came up with the correct shoe size and I went ahead with the purchase, ignoring his arrogant behaviour. Right before making the payment I asked him to double-check if the shoe size was 39.5, which he confirmed by pretending to look at the shoes and misinforming us the size, as he was probably in a rush; although there was 4 customers and a staff of 20+ on the floor. I was obviously disappointed and very upset when I decided to exchange the shoes for the correct size. This time around I met Lillian, who was very sweet and cooperative. She even apologised for her colleague's behaviour after I told her that you can also check the cameras. The staff in the women's clothing section was no different. If this message gets through, I request the authorities to take some action against such rude and unwelcoming behaviour to retain customers.

Shockingly poor customer service over the phone. I've been trying to get in contact with the store for over 2 hours now. Every time I call the listed number, I wait on hold for half an hour, the person at the switch board attempts to transfer me through and then the call drops. This has happened 10 times this morning, despite the fact that I explain to the switchboard operator each time that the line keeps dropping. No phone issues on our end otherwise, so I'm assuming it can only be a poorly managed phone line on their part.

Just been to visit Santa. Just such a wonderful experience. Very friendly and patient staff from start to finish and Santa himself was just amazing. A great setting with plenty of detail and well organised. Special mention goes out to the Elf once you come out of visiting Santa. Extremely friendly and very much in character.

The new kids section is fantastic, would highly reccomemd taking the kids for a look its an experence in its self. Nothing too special about the range of products but its a great experence for the kids. Cant comment too much on the rest of the building as it was a building site when i went, but if the place is anything like the new kids area i would recommemd taking a look.

Great kids Toy section up the top which made me wish I had my kids with me.
When we visited, they were doing renovations on lots of the floors which made it a bit of a trek to get to the floors which were open, but as long as you could make it through the mazes and escalators (or wait for lifts) it was okay
