Awful customer service !!! Went to the counter wit...

Awful customer service !!! Went to the counter with $298 worth of clothes and told if I spent more than $300 I would get $75 off. Found a hat. She rings through $40 hat at the same time as telling me I only get $30 off because the hat is by the ring brand. By this time she s put the total amount through on my card. I look at the receipt and there is zero discount applied. I ask what s happened and she s says oh dear. Let me refund that and put it through again. Fail and it s a debit card and now I can t spend any money until the refund has gone through in a few days time. Short story is that I leave with nothing waiting for refunds to clear on my card and lots of people called managers in black jackets telling me it s happened to them before and there s nothing they can do. Absolutely terrible experience and no effort to have me leave satisfied. Online retail is the future without useless shop assistants!!!!

One of the best shopping place in Sydney CBD . You will find most of Australia popular clothing and technology brands here. Very reasonably priced and have great selection of products. I have mostly opted for David jones over Myer if I am shopping in CBD coz of their great collection and service.

David Jones level one Christian Dior shop, I don't know her name I am assuming she was an Asian lady who know almost ZERO English, I walked out because of her lack of English and service. I asked her to show me the accessories tray behind the glass but she refused and told me to look at it from above the table. what kind of service is this?

Just wasted 2 hours looking for some shoes. I was told at parramatta I could get them on-line, on-line said I could get them at the Elizabeth street store, they told me I could get them in Queensland! As a suggestion David Jones buy a better inventory programme the one you have now is disgraceful ! And no I couldn't get the shoes!

Look, in this day and age, the reason anybody would set foot in a physical store like David Jones despite knowing full well that they are a little pricier than online shops is because of an upmarket, expedient, and enjoyable shopping experience. Unfortunately, the staff I encountered on my last visit in the electrical goods section were unhelpful and made me feel unwelcome, pointing me at a general vicinity without offering to help locate the product. There were about 5 staff on the floor and 2 other customers, yet at no point was I approached with a simple "hello sir, I hope you're having a wonderful day. Is there anything I can assist you with?"

Me and my partner were in here about 5 to 6 weeks ago. We were sold the David Jones Amyx credit card. We were told the first year there was no annual fees. A complete lie. David Jones staff members had lied to us to try and get us to get the card. There was no such offer available. Beware of David Jones staff Who will try anything to get you to get this credit card.

Place where you can find nearly anything you want, there is currently many items up for sales, having plenty of sales throughout the year. There is 3/4 of the year full of sales, but there are things that can go wrong, with some issues with customers and lacking of attention from staff. A place that you can go for a good variety but not the greatest customer base

Amazing experience with the sales staff proactively came up to advise of special promotions and discounts as well as a craft experience for our children. This is what department stores used to be like and it s great to see that it is still alive today.

Sad , no, infuriating , what has become of this on...

Sad , no, infuriating , what has become of this once lovely, gracious store. The ground floor is probably the worst part of the experience. All the charming, original shopfittings have been replaced with generic glass and steel. No flowers to be seen. Each counter is staffed by snooty Asian girls who seem unpleasantly surprised to be approached by a middle-aged Anglo. The place is cold and unwelcoming.
A trip to the Womens Shoe department is equally alienating. Absolutely no-one assisted me until I insisted. And then she acted like I was wasting her time. I
It's just like Westfield, which was once ,also, a shopping centre for locals (Centrepoint)...stay away unless you are a tourist.

Had a horrible experience today at the DJ men s shoes area. Firstly it is a very tiny area set aside for men s shoes, which isn t the big problem. When I was looking around for some help with shoe sizes I found the lady and the guy working at that area just standing behind the counter without helping anyone out.

I could understand if they are quite busy but nope just stood behind the counter and offered no help to people. I went to the counter to ask for the shoe of my size and the lady gave me the most annoyed face, scanned the shoe and just said sorry we are sold out and just handed the shoe back. If she d been more helpful I would of bought another shoe there which was over 500 dollars. I instead went to Myers and bought a nicer pair with the helpful assistance of the seller. Avoid at all cost. I was over there around 2:30pm on the 17th of August, if DJ wants to speak to the lady...

Awful click and collect. Had stock for 3 days since I placed the order. They couldn't be bothered to go get the item already paid for. This is a terrible service. Don't use it! Used twice and disappointed twice!!

We were there 40 minutes before closing. No one offered any help even though there were three staff around. We eventually went to the counter to ask for assistance at the shoes department. Then 5 minutes before closing, three different staff came up to offer assistance. I get the feeling they just wanted to get us out, which is fine. Because suddenly it was very efficient.

Overall, the place was clean, tidy and well presented. If the staff were more alert or proactive, it would be better. And if the music wasn t so loud, we would come in more often.

The kids section of this David Jones is incredibly well done. With lego play stations, a Winnie the Pooh dressing room, and the Millennium Falcon spaceship nestled among the clothes, this is a place kids want to visit.

Had a very uncomfortable experience shopping near closing time. If only the girls were as keen on being polite and courteous as they are on making sure that they usher all the customers out the door on the dot! I was browsing (wanting to buy) in the upper women s level 15 minutes prior to close, only to be ignored completely by all but one of the sales staff. I had a bunch of garments ready to quickly try on, and they were clearly becoming a handful, but no one offered to help even though there were only a couple of customers on the floor and plenty of staff around. The staff were walking past me repeatedly, obviously eye balling me to just leave so they could pack up early. Only one girl greeted me with a hello, let me know if I can help you , (and I made sure I thanked her later for her good service). A sales manager passed me, simply repeating: closing time in 15 minutes customers , then again closing time in 10 minutes customers , even though I was the only one within ear shot??! She never once addressed me personally. When I was in the fitting room (the only one there clearly), she again made a point to come in and shout that they were closing in 5 minutes, and again not offering any help/greeting at all. With this level of abrupt rudeness, it s no wonder that David Jones is struggling to compete with online retailers! Who would want to go out of their way to have this treatment when shopping for somewhat expensive clothing? Just to say hello, I m sorry we are closing soon let me know if I can help you quickly before we do would have been enough to be acceptable service, and obviously no one expects to shop after the store is closed, so I m not sure why the staff all seem determined to clear everyone out with their silence, glares and rudeness 15 minutes before closing time. It s a shame that bad attitudes like this can be ruinous for a beautiful big store such as this with a great history.

There is NO other store like David Jones! The store is always clean, organised and staff ready to help. I love the Food Hall and all the different cuisines. The Butcher, seafood, wine, fruit and veg and oh the cheese and deli section to die for. I can not praise DJs enough...I just wish (after no longer living in Sydney) there was another on the mid north coast.

The staff at this store are very helpful and frien...

The staff at this store are very helpful and friendly. I did not see a single staff member that was not smiling. They went above and beyond to help in hailing a taxi. The only thing is that the store is a bit old and in need of a face lift. (This is currently in progress.)

This place is close to public transport and is easy to navigate. We found everything that we needed in record time.

Terrible experience. Service quality was poor. We were browsing for a handbag for my birthday. The nearest staff was texting on her phone since we arrived and never offered to help. Her facial expression and attitude was the coldest. When we asked her questions she sounded uninterested and annoyed, I guess she wasn t happy because we interrupted her important business on her phone. She knew nothing about the brand and product, ended up leaving to seek help, but she never returns before we ran out of patience. We saw the girl again after 1 hour, still texting... Other staffs were a bit more helpful and we were shocked when the friendly guy told us that the rude girl, Catherine, is the sales manager. In my opinion she doesn t deserve a job in retail and David Jones needs to reconsider having her in the store. We ended up spending over $10k in the store that day but it was such a bad experience.

Purchased from Edward Meller in Ladies Shoes. Excellent service...sales assistant took the time to go to the (stand alone) Edward Meller store to pick up a new pair of sandals for me as the only pair available in DJ in my size were display ones
