I've been a culligan customer for at least 18 years. I have a whole house water softener and a reverse osmosis system which they installed. They have always treated me right and have stood by thier products which I find to be of high quality. I recommend them.

I am currently on Culligan's maintenance program f...

I am currently on Culligan's maintenance program for water filter system and they cancelled my appointment without any explanation. I haven't been having drinking water for a several weeks now and they told me they can re-schedule it for 8 days later. They kept repeating that they need their service manager's authorization to set up an earlier appointment for me however, I have not heard anything from them yet.

I also had another horrible experience with Culligan one year ago that they installed the water softer incorrectly and it caused the crystals to backflow to all plumbings. Culligan had to come out multiple times to wash the crystals out from all of the pipes and toilets. Moreover, Culligan charged for these clean out, even though the problem was caused by their incorrect initial installation. I had to call and email them multiple times to solve this issue. I still have this crystal backflow issue and cleaned them again last week.

If you want to contact Culligan for any issue, you must be very patient because they make all kinds of mistake for technical service, billing, customer service, as well as take forever to respond to you!

If I move to a new home, I will never install Culligan's systems any more and I wouldn't recommend their service to anyone!

Horrible experience. Promised us a delivery window and then delivered outside that window multiple times when our office was closed. Then refuse to change when they deliver the water. Never using them again.

If I could give this rating a zero stars I surely would. I have had nothing but trouble with Culligan since we contracted with them. When trying to resolve issues I have been given the run around. In one instance I asked for the manager of the branch and they refused to get me to him/her saying that they were busy. TOO BUSY TO DEAL WITH AN IRRATE PAYING CUSTOMER? So I cancelled. I couldn't find another business that delivers water in my area so I was forced to go back to them because my clients depend on my business having water. After going back, the problems continued further. I stopped getting paper or electronic invoices so they charged me late fees that I later refused to pay as I was not being alerted of charges. When I called to ask I was sent to voicemail, left a voicemail and never got a call back. Today another incident occurred where the manager of my business was there to receive the water deliver (mind you my business has a strange schedule and we have alerted Culligan to many times to even count) and they were late and we were closed but my manager stayed late to get the water. She said that they showed up and drove away. So I called to get them to come back to deliver the water later today when we are open again because we need the water for an event we are having tomorrow and we were completely out. The lady on the phone told me that they only had to come back right then which my studio manager had another job to get to and I had a meeting that I then had to cancel to make it back there since they couldn't come back later... I am incredibly disappointed with literally their entire team. The delivery person, the customer service team, their management team... all of it. TERRIBLE SERVIE and the worst part is I am forced to use them because no other company delivers to my area. I will be reaching out to the BBB to escalate this issue. I never thought that I would ever do this to any type of business being a business owner myself but I have been pushed to my breaking point. I hope this review is enough to keep what I have experienced from happening to anyone else.

Horrible customer service, asked me to take over payments at full price for a used product. Asked them to remove the product. After removed the lines they installed now leak because they were cut and not capped "but aren't going to take responsibility or liability for that" because months have passed and the leak had to be narrowed down.

I am leaving the original review below just as fyi for the original review but I am going to put this update first. I just received a phone call from Jim and Chris at Culligan of Indianapolis it help sort out what was going on. They were amazing to talk to and gave me the answer that I was looking for. They told me best and worst case scenario with an RO system after a boil advisory and told me to get back in touch after the update is released from the water company and they would be able to narrow it down more. I greatly appreciate this response guys.

We have had Culligan installed in our home for about 6 years now. They only seem to be helpful on the phone when trying to sell you something. We are currently on a boil water advisory and I called to ask if our RO system was ok to use and/or what maintenance is needed once the advisory was lifted. They had exactly zero answers for either question and just played the cover your butt game. If you are going to provide a service such as this, make sure that your people actually know what they are talking about. With a 1 month old at home, I could care less about your CYA and just need straight answers. Once pressed, all they said is to have the system serviced but wouldn't give recommended service items. Very frustrating and not hard questions.

This review is solely related to the billing of se...

This review is solely related to the billing of services rendered, and not the technician, nor the unit itself. The customer service rep was a little snippy, but I imagine it's because she deals with people with my same questions on a regular basis. Essentially I paid 4 times the cost of every part used during the installation of the unit. For example a Copper Pex Ring costs $0.24 at Home Depot. Culligan charges $1.04 for this part. What's a few cents here or there you say? Well it adds up quickly when you need multiples, 12 in my case. Another example, a 90 degree elbow which costs around $10.00 at Home Depot, Culligan charges $39.69 (I needed 2). And so on for the other parts required for the install. I understand companies are in business to make money, but this seems like overkill considering I've already paid a trip charge and a labor fee for the technician to come out. In addition paying 4 times the price for parts when compared to a local hardware store seems excessive! Especially since Culligan gets them for much, much less than the quoted Home Depot prices. I imagine overall they are probably charging 9-10x what they purchase these parts for. The dagger for me was when they provided me with a $4.50 water alarm (which I did not request), and charged me the, what seems to be standard at this point, 4x the cost of the actual part at your local hardware store. I was told that this was "part of the installation" after the fact. When I had my unit installed the first time, I did not receive a water alarm, so why now? So I just want this to be clear to other customers. My $99 installation charge ballooned to $500 very quickly due to these added costs. Just doesn't seem fair, and honestly the hardware costs seem to be more of a rip-off than anything else. Lesson learned.

We have had Culligans filtering system in our home for 2 years and are very pleased with the product and excellent service. I would never give a compliment if not deserved. Culligan deserves this compliment!!!!

I grew up with Culligan so it was a no brainer when it was time to purchase a new water softener ?!
I regret that decision... an overpriced piece of junk... it lasted 2 years. My saga with Culligan apparently is not over ... there is a derogatory acct. on my credit report via Culligan for non payment ???!!!! Luckily I keep very good records which show my account was paid in full !!!!

Terrible customer service. Have worked with the company for years and had a good experience. They lost me over unwillingness to take responsibility for a small $90 water bill increase caused by their two year old and under warranty product's defective operation. I spoke with a manager who gave me the "I'll call you tomorrow" multiple times and did not call back. Wasn't asking for much, just a simple I'm sorry this was our product's fault and we'll take responsibility. My family formerly used Culligan products for our rental and personal properties, with salt delivery, etc... the whole meal-deal. Their sincerely terrible customer service killed it for us. I'd suggest Hinkley.

I stopped into the store to ask some questions about water softeners, where the girl at the desk was very nice and scheduled someone to come out to personally check my water and go over my options. When he showed us he was very professional and knowledgeable and suggested what type of softener i should consider, and gave me options. I was very pleased with how everything went, and am very happy with my purchase and soft water!

Don t visit this place. You can buy waters from other businesses and if you elect to not get them delivered it s at least a 30 minute process even to just pickup 2 5-gallon waters. It s crazy that this place has such name recognition that it s awful efficiency as a business is still open.

When I moved into my home last March I called Culligan right away to have them install a water softener and water filter under my sink as well as connect my fridge to the filter.

Not only do I get to cook with fresh and clean water, I feel great knowing that the water I drink and use in my home is top notch. Installation didn't last more than an hour and they could not be more friendly. Save yourself the trouble and do it right the first time, have Culligan come out and install these new home essentials. You will be happy you did.

I had Culligan Indianapolis repair my water softener. I paid by credit card. Several weeks later, Culligan sent me a statement showing the amount unpaid with an additional $2 "Statement Processing Fee". I thought a call to their billing department would remedy to problem. However, they refuse to resolve the issue unless I make a personal visit to my bank and have the bank provide confirmation that my credit card was charged. They are unwilling to accept my credit card statement as verification! They screwed up and now I have to take time off work to resolve the issue. They didn't offer and apology or even act concerned.

Dont really know how this place can have such high...

Dont really know how this place can have such high reviews, maybe i just got an unusually bad experience. That was the reason i went with them in the beginning, the high reviews. I did an email submission and a guy called me and set up an appointment for consult. I have a fairly unique condo set-up which i warned him about. Woman shows up to do the assessment and everything seems fine. She gets tons of pictures and I got a quote which i agreed with. I asked the next step and was told she was going to talk to the installer/engineer and she would get back with me. I told her i wanted to get this done as soon as possible, she assured me it would only take a week or two. Two weeks later i have heard nothing so i message the woman who came out. I am told by her she hasn't forgotten me but says the installer needs some additional pictures of some of the pipes. Fine, she should have let me know, but fine. I send them that same day. She says that is good and she will talk to installer again. 16 days later i have heard nothing back. I message her again saying this has now dragged on almost a month and i need something concrete within the next week from her or i am looking elsewhere. I get an auto-reply that she is driving and will get back to me later. 1 week later i still have not heard back. Talk about being strung along... i shouldn't have to beg a company as big as Culligan to take my money and do the job.

Their customer service is a joke. We had a tech smoke cigarettes by our water softer (which is located right next to our furnace). Our house smelt like cigarette smoke for weeks until we had a cleaning done (at our own cost). This smoke also caused a severe allergic reaction in my fiance who just had gotten out of the hospital for a lung related issue. No one addressed this concern or made it right for us. We were brushed off and treated like a joke. If you're looking for good people who truly care about your families health, look elsewhere.

I've been a customer for over 10yrs now and the monthly tank replacement program is the best program any company has ever offered. I am not able to install a permanent water softener so the tank replacement program is ideal.
I have never had a bad experience with any of the Culligan employee's, starting with the Customer Service Staff and especially the technicians that deliver the tanks. I too travel the city daily and am not sure where I will be at any given time. The courtesy reminder call the day before delivery and the call I get before arrival is great but even more so is the willingness of the technicians to wait a few minutes for me to get home. To the Management at Culligan: You have a team of professionals that are good at what they do, you have a product and service that is fantastic, do NOT change it. Its NOT broke so don't try and fix it!!!!!! Regards,

Called Culligan out to fix our water softener that...

Called Culligan out to fix our water softener that was stuck in purge mode. Tech came out, was very professional, got the unit working and then left but did not leave a copy of what he did. I got the bill. The tech spent 40 minutes on site. The bill was $161.00, $99 trip charge and 90/hr labor! If that wasn't high enough they also charged me $2.00 to mail me the invoice!

Update: I had a new issue with my softener, the error code indicated that the issue was with the parts that had just been replaced. I called and asked for a tech to come out that week because I was going out of town for 3 weeks. I was told that my request would be forwarded to the service manager for them to call me. A week went by and no call.

Culligan came highly recommended for water softeners so I sent an email through their website to set up an appointment. I was contacted the next day by a sales representative named Tim and we set an appointment. I waited for Tim to arrive on the day of my appointment and 15 minutes past our appointment time he was a no show. I called his cell phone and was given a story that his last appointment ran late and he tried to call me but my phone was disconnected. Then he said what service were you wanting again? I was pretty mad and told him to forget about it. My phone wasn t disconnected... obviously.

I wanted to give Culligan a chance, stuff happens and I understand that. I called their local line and spoke with a nice customer service representative who patched me through to a manager named Steve. She told me that the manager may not pick up and to leave a message. I was fine with that. When I got patched through I did get Steve s VM along with a message that his mailbox was full and I couldn t leave a message?!?!? I m done trying. I can t waste half my day on giving a company a second chance. Anybody know any good water softener companies in Indy?

Called on 3-22 for an appointment for service was told first available date was 4-4. If you are nearly 2 weeks out to fix a broken softner it sounds like you might need to hire some more service technicians. I like our softner when it works but waiting nearly two weeks for service seems a bit ridiculous. Our softner is not functioning.

Rented their top model from 2011 until today along...

Rented their top model from 2011 until today along with the Big Blue filter. Had water tested repeatedly during that time and told there was nothing wrong with their product. The softener broke and after having them out once and it not being fixed, they said it would be another two weeks before they could come out again. Decided I didn't want to wait that long, and since the children were gone and I no longer needed the large softener, so I told them to come get it. I installed a new softener. I looked into replacing the Big Blue filter and that was when I realized the filters were supposed to be replaced every 6 months. Now renting from them, they are very clear you have to get your materials from them in order to insure the qualify of their equipment. I never paid for or recieved a new filter the entire time nor was it suggested I change the filter when I had people out to check the water. So since I didn't have the filters supplied, I assumed I must have purchased it a and just forgotten. I purchased a new filter to put in it and left it at that. My husband suggested I not install the new filter in case they took the case. I couldn't understand why they would since they provided no service for the equipment so it couldn't be rented.
In the end, they wanted med to continue to rent it or they wanted to take it. Since the filters are only recommended foir 6 months tops, I paid $400 in rental charges for something that did me no good, I need to purchase a new filter casing because I realize now it is the chlorine in the water that has been bothering me all this time. I asked them to not replumb the pipes to cut out where the filter used to be so I didn't have to redo it again later today or tomorrow. The serviceman said ok and then proceeded to replumb or anyway.
If you need to rent, save yourself the stress and do not rent with these people.

Rock solid water softener. Got 15 years out of mine without any service whatsoever and after a mineral replacement it s still going strong. Very good service for the unit as well. Free salt delivery a bonus.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Several months of missed deliveries, dysfunctional operations and poor online billing system. So far, I am happy to have switched away from them.

P.S. Sorry Mr. Reem, I've changed suppliers in the month it took Culligan to reply.
