Rented their top model from 2011 until today along...

Rented their top model from 2011 until today along with the Big Blue filter. Had water tested repeatedly during that time and told there was nothing wrong with their product. The softener broke and after having them out once and it not being fixed, they said it would be another two weeks before they could come out again. Decided I didn't want to wait that long, and since the children were gone and I no longer needed the large softener, so I told them to come get it. I installed a new softener. I looked into replacing the Big Blue filter and that was when I realized the filters were supposed to be replaced every 6 months. Now renting from them, they are very clear you have to get your materials from them in order to insure the qualify of their equipment. I never paid for or recieved a new filter the entire time nor was it suggested I change the filter when I had people out to check the water. So since I didn't have the filters supplied, I assumed I must have purchased it a and just forgotten. I purchased a new filter to put in it and left it at that. My husband suggested I not install the new filter in case they took the case. I couldn't understand why they would since they provided no service for the equipment so it couldn't be rented.
In the end, they wanted med to continue to rent it or they wanted to take it. Since the filters are only recommended foir 6 months tops, I paid $400 in rental charges for something that did me no good, I need to purchase a new filter casing because I realize now it is the chlorine in the water that has been bothering me all this time. I asked them to not replumb the pipes to cut out where the filter used to be so I didn't have to redo it again later today or tomorrow. The serviceman said ok and then proceeded to replumb or anyway.
If you need to rent, save yourself the stress and do not rent with these people.
