Clean rooms, great views, and a location that cannot be beaten.
THIS WAS the worst place I have ever stayed.... There was mice in our room then they gave us another room on 3rd floor with mice as well.. I was told I would get refunded for one night ..smh I contacted my booking company an they never put in a claim for my refund...never Got my hotel Deposite as well.. still waiting to be refunded ....... Stayed for 5 days no towls, wash clothes
Beautiful hotel, even though the pool wasn't open when I went. Reasonable priced for the a week day. Also in the central location with a nice walk.
Our stay at the Crowne was all around pleasant. Check-in was easy. Our rooms were comfortable. Valet parking was prompt. You can t beat the location if you re a tourist visiting the Crescent City. And the hotel is attached to the Bourbon House restaurant. This is a wonderful place to stay for fun in the Quarter.
Average hotel for the high cost. Spacious and clean rooms, but with few amenities. (No fridge, no free Wi-Fi, etc.) Parking is valet only and $40 per day, or you have to park further from the hotel in a public lot. Lots of hidden fees. There are hotels nearby with more character, history, and charm.
Wonderful place in the heart of new Orleans. A good hang out during Mardi grass and otherwise.
MAGNIFICENT! The Front Desk, The Sercurity Staff, The Bellman Staff & Housekeeper Staff was AWESOME! From the time I/We checked-in til the time we checked-out, EVERYONE DID A FANTASTIC JOB! I will stay there again. Thasnk You! Keep up the good works.
Service was very nice and the hotel is clean. I would stay there again.
Not a good experience at all. Tons of hidden fees (almost $100 to park for 2 days?!) and they dont let you go to your car if you forget something. They told me they had to do it for me and they took an hour. The exact same thing happened when we were checking out -you arent allowed to get your own car out of the lot but we had to wait almost an hour for them to bring it out so we could go home. The room itself was ok but definitely not worth the money. Front desk was unhelpful and rude. Stay anywhere else.
So how do I start. I attended an anesthesia conference at this hotel and decided to stay at the hotel. The accommodations were nice. The rooms were clean and it is a beautiful hotel. But that is where it ends. The customer service was some of the worst I have seen for a hotel of this type. Let s start with no help when we arrived. No one to even offer to help with the bags. The front desk was nice enough but the ancillary staff was either non existent or unhelpful . Two incidents come to mind. First when we went on a conference break to use the bathrooms there was a lady cleaning the restrooms that was completely angry we were all coming in to use the one and only bathroom available to conference participants and she made it known. Very strange behavior for someone in the customer service business. The next incident comes when we were checking out we had the hotel hold our bags . The guy who was managing this was completely annoyed at our request and hardly said 2 words to us.... the overall customer service atmosphere was probably the worst I have seen for a hotel at this level... I usually stay in Marriott hotels because of their high customer service. However with the conference rate for this hotel I thought it would be best to stay here. Needles to say we checked out on a Sunday and went down the street to the Saint where we had a completely different experience . Excellent customer service and people who actually acted like they cared about our stay. We stayed at this hotel Nov 1-3 2019.
The staff and the facilities are great... Awesome place for the full Mardi Gras experience... The balcony is right on Bourbon st...
The Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter hotel is in the perfect spot to walk or bike to a ton of attractions and things to do in the big easy. The room are clean and have tons of space
We were at this hotel as part of a convention that was in New Orleans. I had a confirmed count of 14 rooms on our group's reservation, all with 2 queen beds in each room. So imagine my surprise when I get to the front desk and they want to give me 5 suites and 9 king rooms with a rollaway. They were saying the same thing to many other people checking in as well. (Do they ever have that many rollaways?) Anyhow, long story short, the front desk manager/director (His name was Kasime?) was really rude and acted like this was my problem and not his. At one point he said that king beds are made for 3 people to justify being able to squeeze more people in the rooms they gave us.
The rooms were small and many were in bad condition. Outside of the hotel has the stench of urine on the streets. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place isn't worth it.
The only reason why they get a 2nd star is because they gave me some money back at the end of my stay for my trouble.
Excellent place to stay. Staff is super friendly and rooms were clean. Easy access to bourbon street. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Courthouse is walking distance. My daughter is an attorney and was sworn in that Monday morning. Everything was nearby. Never moved the car until it was time to leave. It will not be my last stay. Hope to visit again. Great time in NOLA!!!
Everything has gone really well the rooms are really nice they have a restaurant downstairs. We had a little bit of trouble but the managers there are amazing and got it fixed with an hour we stayed in 1331 and had great service. The only thing I didn't like was no refrigerator in the rooms.
Good place for some ice cream. Be careful at night though!
The rooms were really nice and service was friendly but it took the valet 30 minutes to bring my car, and there wasn't even a call ahead. Having valet-only parking on a busy street was a pretty big hassle
My wife and I stayed here for our 3rd anniversary. Wonderful experience. The staff was great. The rooms and bathrooms are normal sized for a historic hotel (not too small like some reviews say). The location is perfect. Beginning of Bourbon St so you dont get the noise but out the front and around the corner there are bars and bands to fit all tastes. Also a top notch oyster and bourbon bar in the lobby. Great experience.
Location, Location, Location! Other than that it was a fair value for the price. A few weird things were that there were no comforters on the bed and the sheets and blankets were scratchy. There was no body lotion or shower caps even when we asked for them. And no mini fridge in the Suite. The water pressure was low and so was the hot water. The staff was nice but not overly accommodating. Maybe its a Big Easy thing?
In January of this year, I was given a room key to a room that was already occupied. I walked in on guests in their room. When I returned to the front desk and reported this, the manager and staff member said they were sorry and that I would have a $50 credit at Bourbon Restaurant. I used the credit and it was delicious! When it was time to check out, a bill was slipped under my door. I called down and asked if the $50 credit would be applied to my bill and was told it would. In February, I received my credit card statement and the charge was still there. I called the hotel and left a message. No one called back. I called and spoke with accounting. The person said she would get back to me. She never did. I called again and she said there was no record of the credit and the manager whom I had interacted with was no longer with them and that she would try to talk with the customer service person. I asked her to call me back. She did not. I called again and she said she still needed to talk to the person with whom I had dealt. I asked if she would call me back. She never did. I am tired of trying to work with the hotel and decided to write a review instead.
Terrible Customer Service. Rude Staff at Front Desk. They Failed to mention they're Housing the Displaced from Lake Charles. No Blankets, Microwaves, Coffee Maker, Fridge, nor Pool - as advertised during Reservations. Then you get told "you can leave and stay somewhere else" if you request any of these things or jokingly ask for "a discount" since NOTHING is as advertised. DO NOT expect ANY accommodations nor amenities right now, during COVID. You don't even have a place/balcony to sit outside and smoke, either due to COVID or Lake Charles Residents; not sure which. I do NOT recommend staying here, ever. Only Positive; Beautiful Lobby.
Location is really good. Just self park in the garage behind the hotel on royal.
Good location, but after all was said and done, the bill was double what was advertised. Probably won't be staying again.
Very nice. It is very expensive though. 10/10 recommend
Great location but parking was pricey. Clean. Helpful front desk personnel. You can exit out of the side door onto Bourbon Street. It also had a balcony on the 2nd floor over looking Bourbon St., which was a great place to watch the parades. Good cental location to lots of things to do.
Stayed for business... Central location... Rooms newly renovated... Been a good experience
The room was dirty. The sheets and mattress cover were full of stains.
Bed was harder than I liked and the room was smaller than expected.
Very nice staff, just had a tub leak in the room which annoyed me.
Hotel did a great job during the Mardi Gras season 2018. Friendly staff and efficient. Housekeeping was fabulous during this hectic season
The room had chipped paint on ceiling and window view was a semi-dilapidated property, hallway had odor. The location is convenient yet very noisy during the day and night. My property was stolen, claim filed and denied, management insolent, disinterested, slow to return call, hung up on, put on hold for 25 minutes.
I really love it here. The rooms are quiet and it's really upscale without being super expensive. The back door opens up to burbon street. The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning is so strong in the room too! Will be coming back.
Some rooms have recently been renovated and are nice, but others still need work. Lots of noise from outside in the rooms that face Canal Street.
I booked the room because it was close to Burbon St but not in the heart of it because my trip was with my daughter. I booked it before reading the review and some of the things people have written on here are really harsh. I can say our experience was great. Everytime we called for our car, they told us 20 minutes so we waited then went down. Our car was pulling up each time. The staff was helpful and courteous. There was a line at check in but French Quarter is chaos and that's to be expected. The staff handled things well. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. There were reviews on here about looking at a wall so that was a concern for me. The Astor is actually one of the oldest buildings in the city, built in 1850's, but it's completely remodeled. Each room has a window looking into what may have been an open courtyard, probably intended to give natural light. Trust me we didn't spend anytime staring out the window so it wasn't an issue. Burbon street is loud so I definitely wouldn't want a room overlooking it! Also, our room was quiet even though when you walked out of the hotel music filled the air. Great place to stay. Easy walk to EVERYWHERE. I highly recommend.
We were in room 912, downtown New Orleans. I called about 8 hours before we arrived to request a cot and mini fridge. They said that was fine and it would be sent to the room. When we arrived, there was no cot or fridge and we called the front desk to inquire the status of our request. The clerk said that they haven't had cots or fridges available for over a week. Which is fine, but they should have told us about that when I made the initial request so that I could have prepared accordingly. Instead, they were either blissfully unaware, or just didn't care. As far as the other services, it was a major pain to get extra blankets(to sleep in the floor, because of no cot). The staff was not friendly in the least except one of the housekeeping ladies that was very kind and professional. In other news, everything was very clean and in good working order.
So far has been good. However when i did walk in the toilet didnt work at first and after calling the front desk and 5 minutes later they had someone up there to fix it.
It is a nice hotel. Beware of parking Valet 47/day. No Garage!
Great service
The Best location
Great location right at the corner of bourbon st. Close to every thing
The facilities were fine, some doors in the bathroom were broken, and chairs in the landings were uncomfortable, but the rooms the presentations were in were spacious and effective for speaking. The workers mostly let us do our own thing
Worse case scenario I'm not the one to waste food at all.
Nice accommodations. Very friendly staff. Very clean. And very close to Bourbon Street activity. Close to many nice restaurants. And close to the trolley stop. Recommend highly.
Location is right in the French Quarter, and decor reflects that. Free WiFi. That's the good news. No fridge, tiny closet, three small drawers for clothes, no complimentary breakfast, but expensive restaurant and $6 water in the rooms. Good hotel if you'll spend all your time playing tourist and only sleeping in the room. Otherwise, hard pass.
A pretty dumpy hotel for a Crowne Plaza. Fairly unkept and it would rank toward the bottom of the list as compared to other name brand hotels in the area.
2 stars because of location. You get what you pay for. This is not a four star hotel. 2 days no house keeping even after repeated calls and request.
Great experience! Loved that it is right on Bourbon Street and close to everything we wanted to do. Very clean Hotel and the staff is extremely Pleasant@ everyone to the front desk clerks to the baggage carriers
Great location. Great balcony for looking at Bourbon.
I stayed here 1 night for work, after checking out the next day I notice items missing from my vehicle. I had valet my truck the previous night with the hotel. I informed the hotel and they tell me they have nothing to do with valet. I then file a police report and a report with the valet service. They inform me an investigation will be completed and I will hear back within 2-3 business days.
Come 2 weeks I still do not get any contact. I call them multiple times only to get an answering machine leaving at least 5 messages (one everyday). I finally call the hotel again and ask to speak to the valet manager. He informs me it is out of his hands and someone from their claims department will contact me. It's been one month now and still nothing. On top of that I had paid $42 for valet.
Also I've needed a valet receipt in order to expense it for work. I've called the hotel a total of 4 times, they tell me they will email me the receipts and it has been 2 weeks still no receipt of my valet.
I frequent to New Orleans often for work and always stay at IHG brand hotels. This is my first and last time staying at this hotel.
Staff couldn't have been more helpfull they made our stay a more memorable experience.
Very nice hotel $170 for one night I didn't pay I was treated. But they have no toiletries that you can take home if you want. One teeny tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. The shampoo cream rinse and body soap are in containers screwed to the wall.you use what is there and you can't take nothing with you unless you bought yourself some bottles to pump all that stuff out of them into a travel bottle to take with you.no refrigerator in our room for that much money you would think they would have a refrigerator so you can keep your food from a restaurant cold and safe. I would also like to keep your drinks cold not just be able to go down the hall and get ice which will melt. You want a cold there you don't want ice in it. No blankets on the bed it was chilly that night one bedspread one sheet not one blanket anywhere in the whole room that you can put on the bed if you wanted to. I guess you're just supposed to jack up the heat.the problem was as the other person gets too sweaty with too much heat so the room had to stay cold and chilly I was freezing to death have to bring my own blanket next time I go there that is stupid.
Great hotel, fabulous location, friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean. John at check in was lovely and very helpful! Food was very nice at the restaurant. Only complaint was being evacuated at 3am, turned out to be a false alarm. We were on the top floor and had to trek down 14 floors. Waited out the front whilst 2 fire trucks attended, then cleared us to go back to our rooms. This happened only on one night, but 3 times. Would love to know the cause of the evacuation, we guessed it was someone smoking (which was prohibited). Overall we had a wonderful stay here and would stay here again!
Had a great experience at the Astor Crowne Plaza. Friendly and helpful staff, great location, highly recommended
Disappointing, during our 8 day stay we only had hot water mid week, during the busy weekends it was lukewarm at best. Called room service twice with no success- once they said they were too busy, second time they closed by 10 when their advertising said 11. Pretty sure we also had/have a mouse in the room. Not the quality it was 3 years ago or what I expect from and IHG hotel
Location is great, located on the corner of Canal street and Bourbon, friendly staff and great accommodations.
I'm going the hotel a three to be nice, honestly. The service is very good, valet parking seems to need some more organization, and the rooms leave more to be desired. We booked through expedia and got a two double bed room. Room had no mini fridge which I thought was odd. The shower had low water pressure, was stained in the tub, the shower head was not in good shape at all, and the faucet dripped constantly. Large TV in room was nice if that matters to you. Room was clean and the AC worked good.
The pool closes at 9 and when I mean closes I mean it. They won't even let you out there, whether your in the water or not. After 9 the only place you can go outside is on Canal Street. This was irritating because after a long day walking amongst hundreds of people your basically grounded to your room unless you wanna go stand back on the main street with no where to sit down and just relax. Personally I think they need to extend the pool area hours. 9 is ridiculous!
Note to staying at this hotel, yiu will hear sirens all night long. They are constant, especially on Friday nights.
The restaurant in the hotel, Bourbon House, is delicious which is why I think they are able to call this a 4 star hotel. It's not. The lobby is 4 star, the hotel is a 3.
I had booked a city view and this was the view of the city. They don't have parking nor a parking garage so you are forced to valet park for $47. The hotel is beautiful and the room looked nice. The shower in our room only had hot water. If I wanted cold water, it would barley come out. I was highly disappointed.
No microwave
No free bfast.
I think they charge for u to pee.
Mostly appearance and unreasonably expensive. The hotel is indeed located at Bourbon street, which is a continuative source of noise.
The rooms were very clean. Bed and pillows were kind of stiff but comfortable. The staff was polite. They did have an issue finding my reservation at first. We had booked 3 rooms and they were initially only seeing that I booked 1 room. The manager was able to easily resolve the issue. We were also able to switch one of the rooms from a double queen to a single king for no extra charge. Overall it was a good experience.
This is a below average crown plaza. Rooms need maintaining and cleanliness needs to improve. Rooms are small and noisy. Front desk is less than friend. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. Wifi did work well.
The worse service, no manager to reach, beds are from the 80 s and zero customer service training for staff!
I ve stayed at many Crowne Plazas and this one is low on my list. Bed is beyond uncomfortable, towels are old and feel like sand paper on you. Room was just okay. It is a great location and staff is excellent as well.
Clean room with all amenities located ok the corner of Bourbon Street. Very helpful front desk staff.
Waited 4 hours to get our toilet plunged. 2 stars only for the restaurant.
Nice hotel but small pool, no fridge in rooms, and not always responsive with housekeeping requests. For the price I'll pick Royal Sonesta or one of the Hyatt or Marriott hotels next time.
I really wanted to give 3.5 stars. I did not see any bed bugs. Thank God. However, the beds were not comfortable. Like sleeping on a board. The squeaking noise when you move is ridiculous. The SMELL is horrible. The housekeepers slam the doors to where the walls/bed tremble in your room. The BEST thing about my stay was my check in front desk host. Courtney. She was awesome. The location was great as well. Very disappointed with Crowne Plaza not putting more into fixing these issues at this location. Especially for the cost of staying there. I will return to the city, but will stay at another hotel.
The worst, most disorganized, nasty service one could imagine.
Stay away.
I wouldn t stay here if they paid me - honestly. I have never been treated worse.
UPDATE: shortly after I posted this review we received a call to our room saying they will be giving us a $75 credit at the restaurant onsite.
Annoyed that our key stopped working not once, not twice, but 3 times. Manager on duty, Rosie, was rude and rolled her eyes when we complained about the inconvenience. Told us to use the phone by the elevator to call downstairs, which we tried but the phone doesn't work. No apologies from her just a snarky attitude.
The security guard Miguel came up too check the lock on our room. He was nice and apologized for the troubles, which is something the manager should be doing. Rosie should be taking a pointer or two from her staff.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel is in a fantastic location. For being right on Bourbon street, the noise wasn't terrible. However, I woke up to ants in my bed and all over the desk. The room was right next to the elevator so you could hear the elevator going up and down all night. I made my reservation through an outside site and have heard rumors that they give people who book through discount sites the noisy rooms by the elevators. The concierge offered me free drinks at the bar because of the ants. I would consider staying there again
After paying almost $670 for a 2 night stay, I presumed I was staying in a 'luxury hotel'. When I got there it was not exactly what I expected. I assumed they had a garage that was included in the rate but it is a $30 a night charge, which would be fine if it was actually decent valet service. They took almost 30 minutes retrieving my car. If you were hoping internet was included too bad, because thats $10 a day. No continental breakfast and I got a random $100 charge to my account that I get to chase down. Also no refrigerators in the rooms. With the high price tag I was expecting a full service hotel that wouldn't nickle and dime you to death, I was wrong.
Best Hotel I've ever stayed in.Our Suite was huge and had a Great view of Canal street and Bourbon street was right around the corner!!
Had a great stay, the room was surprisingly clean for being so close to Bourbon Street. The service was top-notch and their security seemed very adequate. Very close to great restaurants and the trolley. So once you park your car no need for a car lots and lots of things to do very close
This was a horrible experience. I was supposed to stay for 3 weeks on business I only lasted 3 days. The walls were thin (I could hear the lady in the room next to me snoring). There was nothing special about the rooms other than a great location and view. The deal breaker was the valets. I and several other guests waited an hour for our cars. I would only recommend this hotel if your only reason for visiting is to party on bourbon street and don't care about sleeping or only need to walk everywhere.
Wonderful rooms. Comfy beds. Within walking distance of many great eateries and the full french quarter experience.
The hotel stay was excellent. Everyone was polite and very helpful.
Great place. Just know that you're staying in the French Quarter.
The rooms are super clean and you are right on bourbon street. The hotel is super nice and is a very central place to be in new Orleans.
Business review: older hotel - no toilet paper - loud ac - plastic shower curtains - terrible view on 6th floor.... gave me the mechanical view..... not worth it.
Room was clean, minimal noise, hotel looks fancy, and close (and walkable) to everything! Loved this stay!
