My to JFK was just fine, as per usual with Carmel, but the driver wasn't especially helpful this time (didn't help put my bag in the car, etc.). But this was atypical for Carmel drivers, from what I've seen.

I have used Carmel for years when traveling to Manhattan. Cars are clean and the drivers are courteous, on time and know their way around. Always a good experience!

Upon confirming that I was ready for pick up within five minutes the car was waiting for me the driver delivered me to my destination safely

Much better than Uber! Less expensive; the car was roomy, comfortable, and spotless; and the driver was professional, courteous and accommodating of my needs as a partially disabled rider. Uber is hit and miss in terms of the car and driver.
Driver picked us up at JFK right away and he found us easily. Very good directions. There was some traffic going into the city, but he dodged some of it and got us to Manhattan as quickly as possible. He even provided us with some nice cool bottled water! Would definitely recommend and use them again!

Excellent service by Carmel Car, our family of four had a long flight from Australia. Heading into Manhattan from Newark International, it didn't take long at all to spot the driver at the airport and we were on our way.
Worst customer service ever. I book my ride a week in advance and paid for it. Today I am boarding my plane and I get a text message they made s mistake and need an additional 30 dollars on top of the $55 I already paid. They stated the website was wrong. They proceeded to cancel my reservation and decided to let the website handle my ride. Now I have no idea if I have a ride or not. This is unacceptable. What happen to customer service and taking care of your customers. I have never paid $80 plus dollars for the same trip from the airport. This company is horrible to leave me basically stranded.
For my trip to Sleepy Hollow, NY in a very bad rain storm, the driver arrived on time with a very clean car. Bill was an excellent driver, knew the route, and was very personable. I have used Carmel now 3x and 2x with the app. Each time the service has provided incredible quality in efficiency, safety, clean vehicles and lovely drivers. I am a UK traveller to the USA. After some research on transfer from JFK TO Manhattan: Carmel Limo car service came back with some pretty favourable reviews and after using them yesterday I would encourage tourists or visitors to use their service. Booking was easy (and not a hassle despite booking in the U.K. prior to the trip) competitively priced (cheaper than the set NYC Manhattan taxi fare) and arranging collection on arrival from the terminal was straightforward (a quick phone call with our trip ID and we received a helpful text about ETA of our driver and description of car provided - as it was busy outside the terminal with cars).
The journey into Manhattan was at a busy rush hour but our driver was calm and courteous and we arrived at our hotel within the expected timeframe (due to heavy traffic). I would recommend and I am hopeful to arrange transfer from Manhattan back to JFK for the end of our trip.

Customer phone service was friendly and helpful. Car service was excellent from JFK to NY hotel. It was quick and easy to find the car at the JFK pick up point. The driver was friendly. Our driver was even honest with us, he said that using this service within the city would cost more than a Uber/Lyft so don t use us within NYC.
This service is great as you can prebook everything in advance.

Driver was on time driving was great best way to go
Last night I called to book drive from upper Manhattan to LGA for 7 am this morning. Car arrived on time. Driver courteous and helpful. I use this service for all trips to airports and sometimes other destinations. Only slight negative is that they have the wrong name in my profile! That was some one I previously booked a trip for. Not a problem as they had my phone, address and email correct.
Highly recommend this car service.
Car ride was on time and smooth. Did not like that driver lied about cost of toll. It is easy to look this up online so just be honest.

We took Carmel from JFK into the city. Not only was the car spotless, but the driver wore a mask and face shield,. He drove safely and avoided the tolls Furthermore, the driver s side had a plastic barrier between him & passengers. Excellent service. We will use Carmel again in a couple of days for a longer trip.

I d review without the cash. We ve used Carmel for years in NYcand had excellent experiences each time. Today we were picked up with 7 min of calling to let them know we were ready. The driver was polite and professional and a safe driver. And I really compared prices too. Carmel was slightly cheaper than any of the car services and fast. 40 min from JFK
Our ride from the airport to our hotel was an awful experience. When we landed we did as we were told and called the operator for pickup. She instructed us to wait in the passenger pick up area and that our ride would be there in 5-7 minutes with our name on the passenger window. 30 minutes later we called again and was told that our car had already been there and is now gone. She continued to tell me that it was our fault that we missed our ride because we were not in the right spot. I stated to this 2nd operator that we were waiting where the original person told us to. She said well we have a designated pickup area which is in the middle island between terminals C and D. There is NO middle island between C and D. The spot where we should have been is at the END of terminal D AND THE ONLY REASON we found that out is because we asked someone in the airport. The operator stated that we were never told the wrong info. How does she know if she wasn't who we originally spoke to. We finally connected with our driver who was rude and blamed us for being in the wrong spot. This is our 1st time in this airport mind you because we are traveling for a vacation. The car DID NOT have our name on the window. The driver continued to be rude as he threw our luggage in his car. He told us he called numerous times but we NEVER received a single phone call. Getting into his vehicle it was dirty. There was food on the seats and empty pop cans on the floor. He showed us the number he had been calling and it was the wrong number. The driver continued to be rude and when he got us to our hotel he counted his tip in front of us. So unacceptable. Our ride from the hotel back to the airport was a totally different story. The driver was early, extremely friendly and very helpful. He definitely deserved the tip he was given. I would use this car service again if we could request the 2nd driver. And I wish I would have kept my money from the 1st driver and will be in contact with the company to get a refund on the pickup.

My wife and I have used Carmel for most of our trips between our home in NYC and JFK airport over the last several years. The cars are always on time (usually early) for our trips from home to JFK, and are always waiting for us at JFK for our trips home (even the time when the flight to JFK was delayed several hours because of weather). The cars are always roomy, comfortable and clean. The drivers are always friendly, and are all good, safe drivers. The fares are reasonable, discounts are often available, and the app (and the website) are easy to use. I recommend Carmel without reservation.

My wife and I arrived 45 minutes early inbound JFK. We called and asked if driver could come early. He was there within 5 minutes of our call. Friendly and helpful.Similarly for our return trip. We had a 5am pick up time. The driver arrived exactly on time and again was friendly which at 5am is a feat. The cars were both clean and well kept. We do not understand the negative reviews as we did not experience any hassles whatsoever. Our calls to the service were handled politely and professionally. We offer this recommendation without accepting any premium.

Got into car with driver. Tried to speak to driver and he said he didnt understand english. Proceeded to attempt to direct driver for turns and he did not understand even "make left"
Called Carmel the first rep wouldnt give a supervisor 2nd rep finally did. When I explained the situation and my frustration she said "well the driver chooses the route" I told her this has nothing to do with the route and everything to do with sending me a driver I cannot communicate with and she just repeated her previous statement. Rude and doesnt care about losing a 10 year customer.
I'm sure the driver was a nice person but they shouldnt have who is unable to communicate with a customer.
Driver was nice, But he told us that there was a $9.50 toll (for what I'm not exactly sure) but that the toll, trip and tip would be best to pay in cash. When we told him we would have to pay credit card he told us that the credit card processer was acting up. And if we could at least do that tip and toll in cash that would be best.
I'm in the service industry and would never ask for a tip especially a tip in cash. When we got to our destination he once again asked about cash for the whole trip. We told him no again so he ran out card and we gave him a $20 for the toll and tip but I'm not happy about it. This was not a good experience and we will not use this car service again.
UPDATE: After my review either here or the one I filled out they sent through email, the company refunded me $20.
I arrived at 4:30 a.m. and Carmel was there as promised and got me back home in Manhattan in comfort and fast. I couldn't have asked for more.

Customer support does not exist. I tried to make a reservation using a company credit card I have used successfully many times before. The reservation never went through successfully online, but I was charged 4 times. Now I have 4 pending charges for 1 unsuccessful reservation. I called up and got someone from the Philippines and she could not help me. Why am I not speaking with someone in the USA? They told me my credit card info was not correct. Really? The charge went through as "pending" 4 times. It showed up on my transactions immediately. How does THAT no qualify as going through? Their online and phone support stink. I travel frequently to NYC. I will not try to use this service again. If their website and customer support is iffy, how on Earth can I expect them to pick me up on time.

I took Carmel from JFK to Long Island during peak time (Friday, 4pm). Trip that normally takes 45 minutes took almost 2 hours. The driver was licensed, and very professional and calmly navigated the traffic. Also, the car as promised, arrived in 6 minutes, and the driver called to coordinate the pickup. The car was clean, a full size sedan. The app worked well. One complaint I have is that is not explained if I can schedule pick up ahead of time based on a flight arrival. Also, the car number the app gives is not the plate number and it shows only at the rear of the car so it's difficult to identify the car. My name was displayed on the passenger side of the vehicle -- nice touch. The price of the trip was very fair.

All good, driver/car was signed with our name and it was easy to find him at JFK airport. Instructions by email was easy and clear... Comfy way to get to Midtown from the airport.
This is my go-to car service everytime I make a trip here. Booking is super easy and convenient. Most of the drivers are quiet so it allows me to answer emails and work during the transport. Sometime quiet is good. Very reliable !
Used Carmel before via a friend and was perfect then as it was now. This time we booked direct to pick up from the hotel. The driver was a little early, came into the lobby with a sign made with our name on and got us to the airport in good time. I think I am awarded $10 cash but I would say this anyway. They came to pick me up 3 hours away in Livingston Manor, NY, for a trip back to Brooklyn. I'd never be able to find an Uber to do that. Car was clean, had a "COVID barrier" and the trip was super comfortable. 10/10 would do again.
I am a native NYer who has been using cars and cabs as long as I can remember. My experience with Carmel has consistently been superb. This last trip, recovering from surgery, proved how exceptional they are. The driver, after stowing my rollator, drove so expertly, that I felt no discomfort. While I am being compensated for a good review, that has no bearing on my praise. I have been a long term client of Carmel because of their quality of service.
Driver was polite and helpful. One gripe was that trunk of car only held two suitcases and one had to go in front seat. Car was supposed to hold 3 passengers and three suitcases but fortunately one was small so it worked. 3 people in backseat and one suitcase in front and two in trunk wasnt what I expected. My driver was on time and very courteous. Got me to my destination in a timely fashion. I loved the fact that i could pay in advance along with tip.
Good alternative to Uber or Lyft, just make sure you confirm the price with the driver as they may change it. Also if you use the app don't finish the payment until the ride is over.

I've been using Carmel Service to transport my husband and me to NYC Airports for many years. They are very punctual with their pick-up. Every driver has been professional, courteous and extremely great drivers!!! Some of my colleagues stated that I was wasting money by using Carmel; and I should open up a Lyft account. I did; and much to my dismay, the Lyft service was considerably higher priced than Carmel. So, whenever you see Carmel's TV commercial proudly saying that they are the cheapest ride in town to the airport, they are absolutely correct! I'm a witness to that. Excellent driver. Picked us up quickly and dropped us off. This was post surgery so it was really appreciated.
Lots of negative reviews out there against Carmel Car but that was not our experience. Our driver Xu Kang Wang picked us up at JFK on time and delivered us to our hotel in midtown Manhattan, in rush hour, in about 50 minutes. Xu was very personable and conducted himself in a most professional manner. The price for the trip was as per Carmel's quote. There were no hidden costs. We used Carmel again three days later to get to the cruise terminal and received the same quality service.
They've been on time or early for every single trip I've asked them to. I would definitely recommend a million times over any other service. The only thing is, with LaGuardia changing so often due to construction, they should keep their drivers in the know as to drop off at the correct terminals.

I was very pleased with CarMel. Me and my family flew into NJ from NC. I made a goof with the flight number which made it look like my flight was coming in around 1130pm but we landed around 630pm. I called and realized the mistake and they fixed it and had my car there literally in 10 minutes. The driver called when he was pulling up and immediately hopped out to help with bags. He was kind and got us to our hotel safely.
I highly recommend them! They reward you to share their company, write a review and offered a discount for 1st time users like myself.
Use them! You wont be disappointed.
