This hospital is the worst one to have your child in I had two children born both of them was bad experiences the first one was when my son was born he was 6pounds they said he had a hard time breathing... But he was drinking from his mother breast mlik. So they put him in the icu when couldn't take our child home every time I asked when will he go home they told me a date when that date came they had another problem.. But all his tested came back good every last one even other doctors said they don't know why my child isn't Goin home so my child was in the hospital for a month that time I will never get back... If u have government insurance plz don't come to this hospital they Goin to milk that insurance till they get what they want.... I would never go here for anything again

My 80 year old mother was recently admitted into the Emergency room at ARMC by way of an Emergency unit responder/ambulance. Because my elderly father was unable to go with her, it took a few hours before someone was able to come up and be with/get her. The director of the emergency room was so horribly rude to my mother and pretty much terrorized her as if she had no business being there. My mom was burned from the top of her scalp to her chin and they never even looked at it nor treated her for it. They just carted her out of her room as soon as possible and told her she would have to sit in the emergency room until someone arrived to get her. My mother has been unable to sleep or even rest because of the trauma of her experience there. She is now terrified to be taken to the hospital. This is totally unacceptable for anyone to be treated like this. Please go elsewhere if you have an emergency and not to ARMC.

I find this hospital to be best in all but one aspect and that is the underground parking. It is very difficult to find your car especially if your an older person
Like me. I am not the only one with this problem - I helped an older man find his truck. The spots need to be numbered or color coded. It is easy to get yourself turned around down there. Hospital is GREAT.

I tried to get a refural to go see a neurologist from AR but they threw me around the hospital to talk to EVERYONE except the people I need to talk to and when I finally got somewhere SOMEONE PICKED UP THE PHONE AND SLAMED IT BACK DOWN AND HUNG UP ON ME!! I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR AN HOUR AND GOT HUNG UP ON!! FORGET THAT!

Been in the ER room for @3 hrs now waiting on the doctor to see my loved one he is severely hurting in his head and back and he can't get anything for pain or find out what is going on with him

Not at all impressed with this emergency room. I don t recommend taking your loved ones here if there s a medical emergency. First the hospital is not responsible if you or your loved one doesn t receive proper care since some or all of the medical staff are independent contractors. The staff pays little attention to your concerns. An example is drug interactions, and overdose they insisted this was in no way harmful when they should have been explaining the side effects and how long they would last. One staff member decided he would take it upon himself to grill us for not having insurance, and tell us that was why our loved one would be transferred to a place that was being investigated for patient abuses. This hospital has multiple suicidal patients on a weekly basis but fail to follow important protocol recommendations by the US Dept of Health and Human Services such as patients having unsupervised access to bathrooms with locking doors. There should be no suicide attempts inside an emergency room bathroom! How many Attempted suicides have occurred at this hospital s emergency room?

Positively the worst care Ever. I am only giving 2stars Because (apparently) the ER was Good & I had one Very Nice Nurse in ICU That didn t just throw a bed pan at me & helped me to the potty . Went in For TBI & Slow Brain Bleed. Had Nuerosurgen that, once he figured he wasn t going to drill into my head... Lost total interest in me! Dr Patil.. or something. The hospital never refered a Neurologist to me & Patient Advocates... didn t seem to exist. After a year of recovering.. I m having emotional issues & was led to believe that after a year, I d be Myself.. I m Not! Never even heard from neurosurgeon after 6 week follow up. He was Such a pompous Dr. & his Associate Dr Walhper... was as bad. It s as if I got the worst care Ever. Form the constant CT scans , where techs literally would Drop, my Already damaged head on cold platform (was Grateful when one nurse put a pillow down first) this is the first time I ve realized how lost & ignored I was.. Still feel that way! It s a stressful Struggle & I ve Never been sick. Amazing! I got the worst Dr & just slacker care. Honestly, they should be Ashamed.
Lost 15lbs in one week, no support & Horrible Drs.

I ve advocated for my Mother & have never seen such appalling care.

The ER is an absolutely awful place. I came here several times trying to find out what was wrong with me and not at any time did anyone actually try to help me. The doctors were very rude to the point of one of the doctors actually asked me what I wanted him to do for me! Uhh maybe help me?? All they do is prescribe pain pills. I got 3 different prescriptions for pain pills in 2 weeks. I never filled them because that's not what I wanted..I wanted to know what the hell was wrong with me. Honestly I don't think the ER will even help you unless you have insurance and I don't think they care unless you are having a life threatening illness and even then I'm not so sure.. All they do is see you, throw some pills at you, and send you on your way. It's unlike any hospital I have ever seen. Don't bring anyone here unless you have no other choice. The TV is always talking about the Opiod epidemic and ARMC is contributing to that big time!!

Beware, people with Medicare. They mine insurance. There's an a-hole doctor who snapped at me when I brought someone in off the streets who had dehydration. Accused me of saying things I never said. I never got an apology. I went another time for something else, years later and the nurse straight-up verbally abused me. She was an old, nasty, smokey piece of leather. No surprise, working with that same jerk doctor. On another occasion, someone at regional stole a relative's jewelry, religious artifacts and cash from her purse. I was livid. I confronted the workers who checked her in. Nobody owned up to it. Three strikes and I started going to St. Mary's, instead. They make regional look like a state-run prison.

Back in '07, Regional actually had their stuff together. After 2010, everything went to hell.

My Mother fell and broke her arm on 12/27/19
The ambulance took her to Athens Regional.
They put my Moms arm in a sling ,did nothing for her UTI infection, did not take care of her at all. This is the worst Hospital that I've ever seen.
They then transferred her to The Oaks ReHab in Athens. Again a horrible place for anyone.
The nurses are lazy and rude.
After 3 weeks we took her home. She passed away on 2/19

This review is for the Business Office. The staff for medical care, whether doctors, technicians, people who check you in, etc are great. My one star review is for the office that calls repeatedly for payment BEFORE it is due. I tried to pay my bill online but had a question about an additional charge so I had to wait until I was off again during the week to call. I had plenty of time before the due date.
Before I could call I had 2 messages Friday to call the , 'Business Office'. I called this morning to find out why they called and was told that it was a courtesy reminder about the bill. The rep I spoke with agreed that it was 2 WEEKS before the due date. Later the same day a get a call on my cell but did not get it in time. As soon as the cell stopped ringing, my land line started ringing. Both calls were from someone from the hospital about the bill. I explained that I spoke to someone earlier and they said that a note was made but she needed to know if I had paid the bill and if so, how much. I explained that I did not think it was right that some should be calling so much about a bill that was not due yet and if she were really part of the hospital she should have access to that information, especially if she was trying to collect. She also agreed that the bill was not due yet and insisted that I tell her how much I paid so that I would not get anymore calls. I told her that I should not be getting any calls because I do not have any overdue bills. SHE LAUGHED. Not just then but a couple times during the conversation. This office must be outsourced because it is nothing like the other people at Piedmont.

Hospital owes me refund I had to call and ask for the refund. I was told it was process that would take a couple weeks for me to get a refund. I'm sure if I owed the hospital the paperwork would not take as long. Hoping I actually get a refund.

I went on a weeknight to the ER, it was calm and pleasant. I was seen almost right away, we did blood tests and I saw the doctor for about 5 mins. I wasn t diagnosed with anything, or even treated for symptoms. I paid what I thought was a co-pay, and then was sent a bill later on for 600$ more. When looking at my breakdown, I was charge 1080.00 dollars for laboratory. Am I paying for the entire machine? They told me my white blood cells were normal. So that s all they checked, and yet I m paying 1000 dollars for it? And then on top of that, 1000 extra dollars just to be seen in the ER and sent away with a prescription for meds I didn t need, and wouldn t treat the symptoms I described in any case? Wow. Our health care system is flawed if this is the normal. I will try never to go to an ER again. Thanks for nothing Piedmont.

This hospital has been a huge blessing to me and my family. The nurses and drs and other staff always go above and beyond to help you. Dr's listen to you. Give you time to ask questions. I have stomach issues (pancreatitis) flare ups and other problems. I know when I come that I will be cared for. Thank you to all the nurses and dr's and other stuff for all you do. I pray God blesses you.

The service is great but they will get the every penny you have. My insurance paid the correct amount but they want me to pay even the write-off amount since my deductible was already met. Think twice before you go there.

I was nervous and scared going in for my 3+ hour surgery, but that all changed as soon as I arrived. The staff was impeccable from start to finish. The ladies greeted me at the front desk ( Talmadge 1 entrance) and checked me in seamlessly( More

Well i went in for care in 2015, got some stiches in January. Paid the bill off a hundred dollars a month. 5 years later I get a hit on my credit for not paying a bill from a physicians group. I understand Dr bills are separate but this is a huge error. I get a hit on my credit 5 years later when some other ER physicians group mis billed my address. My dad also died there within 24 hrs of admittance with breathing problems and had a huge heart attack after o visits to a doctor in 50 years. St marys is much better, it may take better care of the poor, but that usually means better care for all. My dad had full benefits , way to go Athens regional! They even gave him a good prognosis and he died within a day or so, whatever you want to call dead, intubate someone with know lung capacity after a heart attack. This whole place is a disaster that wont go away.

Why do they make patients drive to the hospital for a 3-hr pre-op process, when they repeatedly asked the very same 50 questions the morning of surgery and in CICU? Why are your computer systems not all connected? Do your nurses have nothing better to do than grunt work? Of course they do!
And why weren't we told of the patient co-pay fees on the pre-op day? You spring that on your patients just before surgery? Just not a very professionally run hospital!

I would give no stars if i could. But the staff was nice. Food was ok but the facility was nasty. House keeping left the shower filthy. Boogers on the draws. Drains filmed over with gray slime. The staff is the only saving grace. Doctors didnt want to listen. Had an attitude. Talked down to you. Only come if you have to. But try not to stay.

I took my daughter to the emergency Room she was DE hydrated and very lethargic and they took everyone that come in after me back 1st and put my child on the back burner for people who was just in there for pills I would never recommend any one going here

Came to see a friend who had surgery today and is staying overnight at the hospital. A kind lady helped me check in near the emergency room and gave me a visitor badge. When I got off the elevator on the second floor, another lady yelled can I help you? as I headed toward the surgery floor. I told her I was their to visit a friend and she rudely stated that visiting hours were over at 7 and I needed to leave the building immediately. She said it so hatefully. People with such attitudes need not work in a medical setting.

Just came home from having my baby at this hospital and I had such a great experience from the moment we registered till when we walked out the door. Almost every single nurse (other than 2 very rude women) were amazing! They cared to my and my newborn daughter's every need. I would definitely recommend having your baby delivered at this hospital.

I will never return to this hospital. Both of my children, my husband, my sister, and I were all born here and it has really gone down hill. If you need care, so to St. Mary's!! I could go on for days about my experiences but I already did that with the patient relations coordinator and that did nothing. Just don't do it!

My elderly Parents were left outside by themselves (my mom, and dad in a wheelchair and vomiting out in the emergency room parking lot while me and my sister were getting the car to pick them up). This was 4:00 am, my Mom is 83 and Dad is 85. This happened on 9/6/15.

I delivered at Athens Regional by c-section and just wanted to share my experience. The hospital staff from check in to check out was wonderful! I wanted a natural cesarean and they got as close as possible to all my requests. I was able to see my son at the time of his arrival and hold him maybe 3 minutes after birth. (I do wish they would have preformed the Apgar test & him off while he was with me) The operating room staff was incredible from the anesthesiologist to the nurses. My baby stayed with me from then on out, while my fabulous doctor Dr. Shelnutt, finished the c-section he was with me, into recovery then to our room.I or my husband went with him everywhere. They respected all my wishes regarding hep b and vit k. Our ped. is not in Athens,so Dr. Lindsey works w/the hospital and was absolutely wonderful! He was awesome, understanding all our concerns and respected all of our wishes regarding our son.The nurses who helped us the cafeteria staff and even the sweet lady who came and cleaned our room was very polite & helpful. A c-section is not a natural process but the staff at Athens Regional did the best they could to make that happen for us, & we thank them!

My mom was in PCU, while there she was left for hours uncomfortable unable to get out the bed and the nurses treating her like the plague. They take their time not caring if patient is comfortable, giving her an over the counter tylenol for a 13 mm kidney stone that had to surgical remove.

Thanks to everyone who went above and beyond treating me tonight. I was first seen by Regional First Care in Jefferson who sent me straight to Athens Regional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Keep it up guys and girls. Your compassion and caring was greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how it's like walking into the emergency ward at this hospital, but to be brought in by an ambulance & straight to a room was fast. I've been brought in by other hospitals & left in a hallway for hours before, so it was a pleasant transition. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly & quick to assist me. I had a great experience which says alot from someone who has to be dragged to a hospital in the first place.

Had hernia repair 2010 at piedmont. After surgery. I felt like I had been shoved into the car and sent home. Haven't been the same man since. Pain still there after all these years. No advantages. Not better in my case. No help. Do research on hernia surgery first and think about it before you have it done. Also a huge mesh recall is in process at this time. Bad mesh recall. Investigate.

Worst hospital experience EVER. This is by far the most unorganized facility I have come upon. I do not understand how this hospital is still open, now maybe the other sectors are better but I most definitely do not recommend coming here for labor and delivery. Northside was by far a more pleasant experience.

Staff used 25 yr old record, did no updating of any information, including my name, asked no questions regarding medications or other issues. I was released with prescriptions with the wrong name on them and one I could not use due to possible interaction with another medication I took regularly. Seems no one really cared. On the positive I was in and out in about 3 hrs. I'll definitely not return here.

I have been sitting here for over 2 hours with my condition literally deteriorating in front of their eyes. I told the lady at registration that anytime I do anything other than lay on my left side with my ice pack on/off, the swelling increases dramatically. She said I was on "fast track." So 2 hours in the waiting room only to be stuck in a "room" with 2 chairs and 2 curtains and NOT one single nurse/doctor has even assessed my pain level or checked the swelling that is making it difficult to swallow/breathe and I literally feel like I'm on some kind of "fast track to death" in the hands of ARMC staff. This may seriously be my last words while under the care of the worst hospital staff I have ever encountered.

We wasted 2-3 Hours for nothing, All we needed is list of Dr. If they have it. Instead of Dr's list they waste our 2-3 hours. This was my daughter's(16&Smart) experience in her words . I went to the front desk at the registration and asked for a list of orthopedists who can accept my insurance. I had stated the situation which was that I sprained my ankle one month before. I went to the place that they referred me to which was Athens Orthopedic Center today but they didn't accept my insurance so I stopped by to get a list of orthopedists. They said they could take care of me here and see me here. I know I was clear because I speak proper English and I am a medical student so I do know what I am talking about. When they said they could see me and take care of me, it means they can see what is wrong and fix it. I waited 1 hour and got called in. I finally got called in and I had to wait 15 minutes over there! A person came to register me and after that I had to wait another 15 minutes. The nurse practitioner came in and said couldn't do anything about my ankle and she would give me a list of orthopedists who accept my insurance. This was exactly what I asked for in the first place!! We asked to see the patient affairs coordinator. We waited for another 15 minutes. A nurse came in and said she heard the situation and said that I could talk to her about what was going on and then the patient affairs coordinator came in. As soon as she came in, the nurse fled. We complained to the patient affairs coordinator and she said that she would check to see what was going on. She went and talked to the person who did registration. We waited another 20 minutes before she came back. She said that it was a misunderstanding. I had to explain to her the situation again and the fact that I was clear with what I wanted. She went back to talk to them and we waited again for 15 minutes. She came back and said it was a misunderstanding and apologized. we had to wait another hour for discharge. It seemed as if we were getting punished for expressing our concerns! When the person finally came to discharge me, it was the person who had registered me. He said he was sorry and that it was a misunderstanding and he thought I wanted to be checked in. I had to tell him once again that I had asked for a list of orthopedists who accepted my insurance and that was all. So it was a very bad experience which wasted my 2-3 hours. This caused me my college class homework and I have to worry about a test tomorrow. We will choose St. Marty's if we have medical problem.

I'm truly grateful for several of the nurses that provided me with genuine care and concern when I thought I was literally ready to die.. I'm extremely offended by the doctor that basically tried to say I wasn't in the pain I was saying I was in.. I was basically treated as though I was pain med seeking. Once they got my pain at a level I wasn't passing out they realize it was my gallbladder. I wasn't at the time but thankfull now they didn't take my insurance and wouldn't remove it I had to wait. The doctor was awful but the nurses made up for it. I would still go to Athens Regional over St Mary's every time

Piedmont is charging copays for 0.00 annual exams. Despite DOZENS of attempts to get them to remedy their error and providing documentation from the insurance company stating a 0.00 copay they still will not honor their contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield. This has happened to numerous family members. CHECK your bills and get a detailed bill. Do not trust gopatientco.com bills to be complete. Piedmont has deliberately assigned payment to services which had 0.00 copays diverting payment from service actually due. Write a check for each service and designate what the payment is for. Once they start adding on copays you are NOT contractually obliged to pay, they can not understand their own billing system which lumps payments together based on paying the oldest first rather than paying each date of service/ provider of service charge. The phone lines are incredibly long. Emails go either unanswered or are answered by people who don't understand the bills.

I was having severe chest pains and went by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Hospital. I ended up having a cardiac catheter and had two stents due to two of my arteries being almost completely blocked.

Everyone that I dealt with at the hospital were professional and pleasant to deal with. My experience was excellent. I would recommend this hospital as one that I trust and feel comfortable with.

The integrity of this hospital has decreased tremendously. My dad has COPD and is at his final stage but he still has life in him. My family & I felt like we were harassed by Dr. Samina Aftab Choudhry from palliative care & Resident Dr. Krystal Alexander with the constant need for a decision to place him in hospice. Day one Monday he was alert and Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday he declined drastically, I asked several times for them to give him fluids because he hadn't eaten or drunk anything in almost 3 days, Thursday night I DEMANDED he recieve fluids, the next day Friday he was back talking, more alert and in way better condition. I am not in denial, I am aware he is in his final stage however it is very upsetting to be in a vulnerable situation and have people suggest multiple times a day to send him to hospice. Please note in no way am I saying that they should be spreading false hope, however empathy, patience, & understanding would be appreciated. I know of 2 other families with this same complaint from Piedmont Athens Regional.

Terrible experience as my 80yr old great grandmother had hip surgery here & obviously requires post acute rehab... finally got grandmother on board to go to nursing home as that'd be the safest/quickest way to get her back up to before fall then a new therapist comes in & says your doing so well you could probably just go home... then we tell them the surgeon/dr said rehab is best then she goes looks at chart comes back apologizing while my grandmother thinks we're trying throw her somewhere where she don't need to be all bc communication is lacking to say the least.... very stressful... oh & she had a male nurse which is fine but when he got her on the bedpan... he threw her gown over head & left the door wide open... after we told the charge nurse & promised he wouldn't be back in her room ... the next day she tells us that he confronted her in her room saying she was lying but he was sorry??? It's just been a freaking disaster

I'm with my daughter in labor and delivery. It's 10:10 pm and one reclining chair and one hard regular chair with wooden arms. I like Piedmont and always have with great caring staff and updated equipment. With people having to stay the night can you look into couches that folds out into a bed and recliner like St. Mary's in there labor and delivery room. Other than that I think everything is good.

I called the business office looking for a self pay price estimate for labor and delivery at Athens Regional. I was told "they don't have that". After further explaining that there *is* some basic price breakdown (because this is normal for every hospital), she rattled off the list of pricing.

I asked if she had something in writing she could email me - I have to have something from the hospital with pricing to submit to Christian Healthcare Ministries. She said "no, it's on the website."

I told her I hadn't been able to find it and she said "it's on there. I don't have anything" ?! Honestly not sure why there is a business office if they aren't going to actually assist with the business related questions??

If the forms are on the website, I can't find them and she gave me no guidance as to where they could be. I'm emailing a random email address in hopes I can get the information.

PS - My experience on the phone with the actual labor & delivery department was GREAT. They were super upbeat and helpful, so I'm hopeful my experience actually in the hospital goes better than this phone call.

I thought the care was exceptional. I arrived at the er with a back injury and was escorted inside for a quick triage assessment and was taken to a room rather quickly.
The er doctor relieved my pain and I was admitted for further evaluation. I would definitely recommend Athens Regional Hospital.

This hospital reminded me of hospital care in the 1970's! Is this what medical care has progressed to? Terrible hospital, no care, no caring and total indifference to the patient. Found only 3 really good people staffed there. NEVER AGAIN!

I'm very torn about this hospital as I had both a good and bad experience on the same day. I had to take my mother to Radiology for a 9:30am appointment. The lady at the desk doing our paperwork was extremely helpful with navigating mom's Medicare and explaining everything to us. Her barium swallow took less than 15 minutes and we left very happy. We had another appointment later that afternoon at an orthopedic place which led them to referring us back to the ER at Athens Regional.
My mother is disabled and mentally ill. She had a complete meltdown episode in the ER...literally screaming, crying hysterically, hitting the walls and ER doors with her cane! I was trying to calm her down and I noticed THREE employees who looked our way and did not offer to help in any way. I was honestly quite surprised that a person could show such an emotional and somewhat violent outburst in the ER waiting room and not ONE employee offered to help or call security or anything. I think they should have gotten her a psych eval immediately but I couldn't get anyone to even come over to us as I was trying to get the automatic doors open so she didn't break her cane or the glass! If it were not for the wonderful Radiology Dept this would have been a 1-star rating.

Piedmont has a very bad reputation when it comes to billing. Either it is incorrect or they send one bill and if not paid send it straight to collections. Not only has this happened to me but two co-workers. You are going through enough to be in the hospital and the last thing you need is for your credit to be destroyed. Go to St Mary s and don t look back.

The billing department was far less than helpful when the mountains of bills started to roll in after my wife's miscarriage!! Due to a change in sub-contracted billing departments, which I certainly would have never known about, I missed on the opportunity to pay in full up front for a discount. St. Mary's, at least for me, has been far more helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly in the past with regard to billing issues!! I most definitely would not recommend ARMC!!

My husband waited over 1 hour at Northridge hospital in commerce for treatment after he fell on a tree branch that went into his leg.He was denied medication for his high blood pressure that was 160/120 and pain meds for the hole in his leg that was not cleaned out by Northridge hospital. The staff at this hospital showed us what the meaning of PROFESSIONAL,KIND,CARING and COMPASSION DOCTORS and NURSES means.THANK YOU for all you do.

Today my daughter Allie called us from UGA with excruciating back pain. We were 1 1/2 hours away so her roommate drove her to the ER. By the time we arrived they had diagnosed Allie with a kidney stone.
We were at the hospital for 5 hours and encountered 1 Doctor, 1 third year med student, 5 nurses and 3 admin staff. Let me tell you, I have never met a more friendly, kind, caring and patient staff as I did today.
Every person we came in contact with were amazing, even on a day that was so busy they didn t have enough rooms for patients.
Thank you to everyone that treated Allie today. It is so great to know that there is such a great facility for her to go to while she is at UGA!!!

Took my daughter -n-law there yesterday she was in a lot of pain not sure what was going on. They took her blood pressure, weight , temp & pulse . Told us to take a seat. We set for and hour & half never was called. She was so uncomfortable. People that was there was called and left people that came in after us was called and we still sat there. We finally ended up leaving. I took her there Cause I trust this hospital. But after that I don t know if I will use you all again. Worst experience ever!!!!!

I went to the ER with severe facial and sinus pain, to the point where I was screaming and could barely see out of my left eye. I waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come poke my face a few times, ask if it hurt, then proceed to write me a prescription that would later reveal to be the wrong kind of medicine. Then I see a bill for $500+. $500 for a doctor to poke me in the face and give me the wrong medicine....specifically the ER section.

My daughter is 10. She s having chest pains and heart palpitations. With a father who also has heart issues. We made sure they know this. We are still sitting here in the waiting room 2 hours later and not even a baseline EKG has been done. I work in healthcare. I understand the more severe illness is seen first. But also working in healthcare, I know that chest pain is one of the most severe complaints, not something that should be ignored for 2 hours without at least a baseline EKG. This is unbelievable. Will NEVER come back to this ED again!!

This rating is for inpatient care. I had surgery at Piedmont Regional at my doctor's request. We were very impressed with the nurses, techs, OR staff, etc. The only negative thing I would share about my inpatient experience would be the taste of the food - definitely not tasty! Now, on to my ED experience!!!! When a patient shows up on the same day she left the hospital after surgery at the request of one of the dotors in the group her surgeon belongs to, you would assume that the doctor was at least a little concerned about his patient's condition. Got put in a room relatively quickly. The nurse, Joe, and the tech, can't remember his name, were both very good - caring, calming knowledgeable, etc. They, like my family, were concerned about my left foot being swollen and hot. Apparently, the ED doc didn't want to be bothered because he filled out an orders sheet for me to come back the next moring and get a scan before he even saw me. When he did come into the room, he pulled the sheet off my foot, got a call and even though he had started talking to us, he promptly walked out of the room in mid-sentence with the phone to his ear and never returned. We got the necessary paperwork from the nurse and left. Trust me when I say that if I ever need ED care again, I'll be at St. Mary's!!!!

Brenda is the most caring individual I have met in a long time in the deli. We we're here for an outpatient procedure for my daughter that took much longer than expected and when my credit card declined to pay for lunch she offered to pay for it. I haven't ever had anyone do that for me. It feels good as a single mother to know someone else cares. Great staff all around I have never had a bad experience here.

My wife's was room was in Pediatrics (3rd floor). The care she received before and after her surgery was outstanding. A level of care I've never seen in a hospital. These women are a treasure.

I watched as a young lady in the waiting room waiting to be seen with her baby! Her baby starts having a seizure and she yells this nobody came to her aid, after seeing this another lady and her child walked out! I m here for a toothache and watching the two front receptionist talk and scroll! I love all the doctors and nurses that are in this field because it s their PASSION not the CHECK!

My wife and I went here for the birth of my son. They sold us a couple weeks prior on being "family friendly" over St. Mary's. Then came the birth.

My wife is on my insurance and I paid the bills. Ironically, supporting husbands were not recognized. I had to pay for my own meals or eat on my own in the absence of my wife and my new family across the street, in the cafeteria, or have something delivered. Family friendly in words, but NOT in practice.

Useless hospital. Had my son here a few months ago and was told to call if I had questions. I got transfered several times before being told they couldn't help me. Don't waste your time with this hospital.

I was treated very poorly, after coming out of a coma!!!
The nurse named Gaye was very rude!!! Stating they were short of help, that isn't my problem!!! Every nurse on night shift claimed they were short!!! That's not the patients fault!!! Every time my husband went to the desk to see about my call to the desk they were sitting there in the chairs behind the desk!!!! I had one patient care tech, that was angry because she had been called to work on a Friday night jerk my arm to take my vital signs!!!! I hope she lost her job!!!! They would let you lay in a diaper & use the bathroom in the diaper rather than get a bedside toilet!!! I begged to get up, and they were to lazy to help me!!!!
I was a C.n.a. in nursing homes for 10 years & I never treated anyone so poorly!!!! Shame on you!!!!

I go past a hospital and drive 20 extra minutes to go to Athens Regional when I can. They have saved my life twice and their patient services have always been good for me. Hospitals seem to all be under staffed but this is the least under staffed place within 75 miles. PARMC is my preferred medical facility.

If you have the opportunity to chose a different facility for treatment then please do so, especially coronary bypass surgery. This hospital is way over priced for the quality of service you receive. You can count on your kidneys and your liver to fail if they preform coronary bypass surgery on you, causing you an additonal 3 weeks in the hosptial and going home having to do diaylisis. Please go elsewhere for your health care if possible !! On a good note the nurses in CICU done a good job !!

Tried to call to see if I needed an appointment for a chest X-Ray because of this pandemic. First time they hung up on me without bothering to speak. The second time they put me on hold for a few moments, only to hang up on me again. Real professional. Thanks for the assistance.

I took my wife into the emergency room with a high fever. They admitted her that night. They gave her IVs and some how the fluid went to her lungs. The doctor that they had caring for her would come in the room and cough over her. I went to patient services and had him removed. Anyway my wife ended up in ICU for over a week. Athens Regional/Piedmont almost killed her. Now I'm having to pay for there terrible service. We saw the maintenance lady clean the sink with the same rag she cleaned the toilet. She cleaned the toilet first. We will never go back to that hospital unless that is the last resort. The hospital has gotten worst since Piedmont took over. Some of the employees will tell you the same thing. Today we got a nasty call from the collection agency where the hospital turned it over to them. That's even after we set up monthly payments to pay the 4000.00 we got stuck with after my wifes ordeal. I'm very disappointed in the way the hospital has treated us. They should have wrote off some of the charges that were made due to malpractice. So far they have had no remorse.
