This rating is for inpatient care. I had surgery at Piedmont Regional at my doctor's request. We were very impressed with the nurses, techs, OR staff, etc. The only negative thing I would share about my inpatient experience would be the taste of the food - definitely not tasty! Now, on to my ED experience!!!! When a patient shows up on the same day she left the hospital after surgery at the request of one of the dotors in the group her surgeon belongs to, you would assume that the doctor was at least a little concerned about his patient's condition. Got put in a room relatively quickly. The nurse, Joe, and the tech, can't remember his name, were both very good - caring, calming knowledgeable, etc. They, like my family, were concerned about my left foot being swollen and hot. Apparently, the ED doc didn't want to be bothered because he filled out an orders sheet for me to come back the next moring and get a scan before he even saw me. When he did come into the room, he pulled the sheet off my foot, got a call and even though he had started talking to us, he promptly walked out of the room in mid-sentence with the phone to his ear and never returned. We got the necessary paperwork from the nurse and left. Trust me when I say that if I ever need ED care again, I'll be at St. Mary's!!!!
