Wyndham Va Beach Oceanfront Reviews

On site restaurant was really good and the conference rooms were great, however the layout of the buildings were really confusing. It took my husband and I way too long to figure out where our room was even with directions. Additionally, the rooms (we stayed in a non-oceanfront suite) were old, and there were so many bugs flying on the ceiling. The salty air usually does a number on beachfront hotels, but it seemed like the rooms needed an upgrade.
The bed in our room was also really strange, like a queen mattress was sitting on a full boxspring. However we did use the double bath to make the most of out time there.

We saw what we paid for, it was the view of the beach from our room. But the room itself and the hotel wasn't great. The receptionist mess up my request and the fire alarm came on twice during our stay.ringing all night

Our reservation got messed up in the computer system and they took care of us quickly and easily. The room had a wonderful view of the ocean to wake up to in the morning. The staff is really friendly and the happy hour specials at the Grill are a great deal!

This place is a total disaster. Very old, dirty and nothing works. Feels like a $50 motel. It smells the bathroom has mold everywhere. Our AC isn't working. The bathroom fan doesn't function. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Got a good view of the beach from the room. And the hotel was decent.

They have done an amazing job with the remodel on the inside and was very impressed with the rooms and the staff.

Its is a decent hotel. Air conditioner in room was noisy and bathroom needs better lighting. Bed was very comfortable though.

ROACHES! Worst hotel experience I ve had. Wasn t expecting this from any Wyndham hotel. The room wasn t cleaned very well, like you can see build up dirt on the metal bars, frames of the floors, and walls. Open, dirty holes in the walls for wires? The shower wouldn t get hot so they called a guy to fix it, then it was too hot to shower our whole stay. Found a roach crawling into the sink, they said I couldn t do anything about it because I booked online and have to call who I booked with. Housekeeping walked into my room 9:30am while I was not decent, when checkout is at 11am??? Thankfully I had the top lock latched! Totally awful, they couldn t even tuck the sheets & there was a bad smell if you don t open the oceanfront door here and there. The only good thing about this Oceanfront room was it s very close to the beach, like right on the water. All this happened & I could only get 50% of my money back.

Friendly staff, amazing view, and some seriously delicious food / drinks at the ocean club downstairs. The view alone from one of the ocean view rooms was enough to warrant many returns for us to this hotel. Seriously book it for the view! The only negatives we're the signs that these rooms are well aged and some staff may not be the most knowledge or helpful. One staff member lied to us and told us that the hot tub "didn't have jets". We found out later from a maintenance worker that it just wasn't working at the time. My advice - improve your training or just imbue the spirit of customer service in your staff so it doesn't detract from an otherwise great experience.

The hotel is ok... my only complaint was the elevator broke down for a while and the side we were on was 5 stories. There are no tables in the room and no where to set your luggage.

We hosted our Beach wedding at the Wyndahm this weekend and I just want to express my deep appreciation for the work done by the team and especially the Events Director Rebecca Gallardo. Throughout the planning process she was great but the day before and day of she was over the top to make our day perfect! She was there with us the entire way until we started dancing! She had complete control of every situation. She made our experience perfect. I would recommend this hotel for you wedding because not only is the room and set up great but because of Rebecca and the team of folks that attended to everyone of our needs...and the were a few! Thank you Rebecca and Team!

1st room had mold but they did give us a new room. Great view but coffee maker didn't work properly.

Great ocean front location with easy access to the beach. Surf club ocean grille has daily happy hour with good selection of craft beers. Breakfast buffet is mediocre and entrees came out Luke warm. Overall this hotel needs an update to decor.

Understaffed, no maid service, halls dirty, had to wait on the cooks to get the food out to the buffet 10 minutes no food on the line. Only two waitstaff for a packed house. One good thing it has a great view of the ocean.

This hotel was good in the parts of the view and location, but can we talk about how dirty all the windows are? Our balcony door didn t even have a handle, and it was extremely hard to open.

Friendly staff and room service is great, very nice view from you room,soo,convenience to go for walks and dog friendly we had great time ,I will recommend to other people ,especially if you have dogs,

My friend, her little sister, and I drove here from Ohio. There's plenty of parking and its conveniently located right off the beach. I think the hotel could stand to be updated a bit, but the rooms look pretty good and we can even see the ocean from ours! However, the best part about this place is the staff. From the moment we arrived they have been friendly and helpful. One of us got sick in the lobby and they handled it extremely well. I would definitely come again.

Check-in went smoothly, however the first room I entered had water damage in the ceiling, pealing wall paper, and mold. The room looked like it hadn t been cleaned, with dirt and food on the floors, and a suspicious white substance on the bedskirt. I called the front desk, on my personal phone since the phone the room did not work, and was moved into another room. The new room had a hole in the wall, the balcony door was slightly open, the entry light didn t work, and the plumbing cover for the tub was away from the wall. When I called the FD again, I was placed on hold, and when the attendant came back to the line, she said what would you like us to do... what a stellar example of customer service that is... I requested a full refund and checked out. When I checked out, the attendant stated oh, they told me about you I do not recommend staying at this property. Not one person said I m sorry for the experience. Try the Hampton Inn South, she remembered my phone number, and came outside to make sure I knew where to park for check in...

My daughter, Ginger brought me for a short vacation due to having cancer and this would probably our last trip to the beach together. Had a problem when we went to check in our room was not what we booked but staff took care of that issue quickly. They put me in handicap room, oceanfront, with outside bar and grill, music right in front of our room that was not loud but just right and shut down at a reasonable time. They called me the next morning to see if there was any thing I needed - what hotel does that? They provided me with a wheelchair that I did not need because everything was so close by! Austin did an outstanding job moving our luggage from one room to another on arrival and same departure. Outstanding staff that showed me love and concern and treated me like a Queen - Austin, Brian, Terry and Teara- thank you so much- it was joy to meet you all. Also thumbs up to the boss, he made sure I was ok. I will definitely stay here again If the Lord does'nt call me home first , I am already 6 months past the month the Doctors guessed, God has something for me to do and hope I can return soon!

Have been coming here for New Year's Eve party with Slap Nation for the last 7 years. Always a great time.

I ve been anxious to write this post since our first night here. After reading the reviews I was really hesitant about staying here but we had to bring our puppy & other locations were extremely expensive and this was a reasonable price for 4 nights. So first thing first the hotel is NOT up to Wyndham standards. So if you re seeking the expected exceptional Wyndham experience you won t get that here. We are very understanding when it comes to no housekeeping and being understaffed due to covid. Due to this we always come prepared with our extra towels. Check in was easy for us, thankfully. We arrived a little early and waited maybe a hour and they called us right before 4pm informing us that we could check in. When we entered our room we were happy to find our room absolutely CLEAN! My complaint is that the hallways could be better maintain especially since there s so many pets here. And not all pet owners pick up behind their pets so maybe there should be a maintenance person to keep the outside area clean. I doubt we would ever stay here again because next time we may not be so lucky with getting a CLEAN room. & the smell and dirty hallways were a big turn off. If you re not a fan of so many dogs this is NOT the resort for you! This is low key a pet resort. There s no specific floor or rooms that pets are on they re everywhere. I will say the view, and the restaurant was the great thing about staying here

Clean, fun, BREATHTAKING view, friendly staff and the most amazing vacation I have experienced in a long time!

OMG where do I begin! My boyfriend and I came for a 4 day weekend getaway! The room was great, it was big and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable would love to stay longer, slept a lot this weekend. There was a private beach not very busy, no hustle and bustle. It was exactly what we were looking for. The maid service was awesome, staff very friendly, and restaurant has a great breakfast buffet. We will be using this hotel every time we come to Virginia beach from now on. We have been to a few of the high end hotels before and this is by far our favorite. Well worth our money.

We really enjoyed our stay . Room was nicely remodeled, hotel is still working on renovations but so far so good. I was pretty bummed both indoor and outdoor pools were so cloudy my kids couldn't swim in it . Front desk staff friendly as well.

Worst-case I have ever had at a hotel.. wasn't able to check into our room until 8 pm after arriving at 4pm. Room Had no smoke detector in it . Just the remains of one. Hold in wall where the runner was not complete. Hotel was a let down from other hotel in this chain .. wont be back..

We stayed here after my boyfriend's Christmas party. The rooms are clean and with all the amenities one needs while away from home. Our view from the 15th floor was beautiful, even if it was raining.

A friend was in town staying at the Hotel. I stopped by to visit them. Rooms were great, and staff very friendly. Beach location was great, a little off the beaten path, but the privacy was awesome.

Very impressed with the quality of customer service and the cleanliness not to mention location was phenomenal

The property is as advertised. My problem is that you have to request for your bedding to be changed. The carpet wasn't vacuumed, the sink wasn't cleaned etc

The pool and hot tub was not functional when we arrived but we hear they got it fixed. And at check-in we were told no rooms had microwaves, then we discovered our suite actually did have one when we got there (a pleasant surprise!) Great stay, comfy beds :-)

Recommend a stop in at the Green Cat juicery a short drive up Atlantic, as well as the side street cantina for a killer tuna ceviche :-)

We had a group function here. Nice ballroom. Plenty of space. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is due to the fact that the bar is outside the ballroom. Other places have it inside, making it easier to gather around the bar and not miss any of the function.

Overall, it was a nice facility. We stayed on the 12th floor, there was a beautiful ocean view. There was an exasperating amount of high school students during our stay. They occupied the pool basically all day and congested the hallways and elevators. Now the worst part was the Internet, TERRIBLE!! I didn't exspect staying on the 12th floor, but It was horensious!! I heavily rely on wireless connections for my business and I was not satisfied! I would be able to search one thing, and then it would stop and say I had no connection, it wouldn't work. I found myself spending more time at the local coffee shop than at the hotel. I can assure you it was not my personal devise, because my iPad had the same issue. Also the gym is not up to date, very little equipment in such a small space. Lastly, the hotel was pretty far from the strip. You really can't walk, but you possibly could bike. It is NOT on the boardwalk and there is little to no local attractions within walking distance. But the beach was nice, it was quiet and had little to no people. Overall it was a disappointment to me, and it is sad that we blew 900$ for 3 nights here!! Great facility's, but filled with youngsters and spoty connections! Also they constantly wanted to talk to me about time shares, which I found annoying and frustrating. I would not stay at this location again, but would be willing to try other locations.

Nice location away from main strip. Room is clean. Would give 5 stars but looks like renovations are due soon in bathrooms, hallways and elevators. Had a noise issue with neighboring rooms but front desk staff handled it well.

The room was decent and the view was ok. Took a swim in the indoor pool & my eyes were burning. Far too much chlorine in the swimming area & I do indoor pools all the time. The staff very courteous, which is always good and the bed was super comfy.

We booked a room for 4 people. Upon arrival we had only one towel in our bathroom and after asking multiple times for additional towels, we never received any. Myself and my 3 children all reused the same towel after showering. We were never able to use our balcony unless myself and my three children including an infant wanted to breath in cigarette and weed smoke. EVERY SINGLE TIME we opened the door for two days we had to come inside and close everything up. Keeping the door closed didn't help, we had to breathe that in all night and our clothes and luggage even smelled like it when we got home. The room was dirty, sand all over the bathroom when we first entered, bathroom light was out, biggest wast of money and most disappointing and stressful trip to the beach ever.

Very clean bathroom, the bar is a great stop for a drink overlooking the ocean. Havnt stayed at the hotel though.

Excellent restaurant in it. Nothing fancy about it, and out of the main hotels on the beach. That makes driving or ride sharing a must to go anywhere but to me its worth being out of the main beach rush

Needs to be removed from the Wyndham umbrella. Gave it 3 stars because of the front desk service and decor. Front desk people very nice very helpful. Rooms are very nicely decorated. But the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms is not By Any Means Wyndham's standards. Dust on the ceiling, filthy bed ruffle dirt all around the patio door. I'm just really, really amazed. The only reason that the price is acceptable is because it's one block away from the beach and for no other reason.

Extremely dirty, rusty shower, and you honestly might be second hand high the whole trip from the over powering smell of weed throughout the entire hotel. There was sand in the sheets and on the mattress. Staff were not wearing masks, no signs for guests to follow covid rules, dirty and smelly towels, overall completely disgusting. We actually left early. Also had our car broken into with the window smashed and the staff could do nothing to help because there are no cameras. Not safe, dirty, and terrible choice of hotel. If you are reading this, this is your sign not to book here.

This was a very nice place. It was quiet and we had a great view of the beach. Other than the fact that on line it advertised a pool and it was actually being worked on was disappointing but still a unique restaurant and bar to entertain. My kis and a friend went on spring break but we will visit again

This place was amazing! Oceanfront room had an awesome view, saw the sunrise from our balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Just minutes away from all the great eateries.

I'm Giving It A Four Star Not That It Deserves It Just Because For The Price I Payed And The View I Got I Want People to Know It's Worth It When I Booked It I Was A Bit Nervous Looking At The Reviews But It's Really Worth it if your looking to save and have a great time

Reality of this hotel is depending on what you are looking for : 5 stars for ocean view and beach. 4 star for the restaurant and staff. 3 star for location far from the boardwalk but that can be ok. 2 for cleanliness. 1 for the pool. It has to be the worse pool . Dangerous when you don t have parents watching their kids. They put granite where a kid would want to dive in a pool.. In summary : looks old, you will not walk barefoot in your room, the pool terrible, but the view is awesome and you can eat well and talk to nice people.

Location was away from main boardwalk, buy they have a shuttle, other than that, nice hotel

When I checked in the beds were not made. It was no bathroom essentials in the room. I called down to the front desk and got half of what I requested. I called back to get the rest of the stuff that i requested and it was never brought to me. I finally got it the next day.

Its overpriced...plus room service charges you a fee for room service, PLUS adds in their own gratuity!! A salad and fries were 35 dollars!

Valve in shower not working. Pours hot water, enough to scald. No soaps in the bathroom.
