Its a hit or miss with staff. This is my second stay. Upon check in my key was given to me the lady didn't tell me my room number or where the Wi-Fi password was located on the card unlike her other coworker beside her handling their guests; I had to ask her. Checked in to a room with a beautiful view yet dead bugs were smashed on every wall, living bugs were all the sliding glass. As I called front desk a bug was crawling from behind the headboard. I told front desk and she suggested calling housekeeping to come suck the bugs up and spray and did not offer me another room. Then she asked me to hold and without letting me know just transferred me to voicemail. I called again and this time a different lady asked me to come down to change me room. Great. Later on I went to the resturant to get change for the vending machine. The hostess told me to wait because the manager was busy and did not even bother the manager for 9 minutes until a server told her to get him. I think the fact that I had to ask to be moved out of an infested room was poor service. I won't book here again. Lastly, there are no microwaves in rooms.
Great room on the 11th floor view was incredible staff was on point for being Christmas Eve and day very clean
We stayed here july 4th-7th. Overall I would sray here again, just needs a few touches done.
Pros:
the staff is awesome!!! We had a few problems and everytime we called or went to the desk everyone was so great and friendly, even the maintenance guys were great. And they were in our room within 10 minutes to fix the problems!
Patio/restaurant is so nice, live music, nice sitting, we went for happy hour and breakfast and both were tasty!
Location is good if you want a little quieter hotel, its more north of all the busy bodies so the beach didnt seem as packed.
Cons: we had quite a few problems, but almost everything got fixed
Sink leaked out from wall, toilet stopped flushing, safe didnt work, tv wasnt working(they had ordered new tvs but they didn't come yet so they switched our tv with another rooms), and had to ask a few times for some new blankets but eventually we got em
Location: you have to drive to get down to the shops and things, but it isnt a problem of you dont mind paying to park
Parking: its awkward. We had to walk through main area, out through more parking, and then into our building.
Carts: when we got there, there wasn't any carts for luggage. We had to do like 4 trips to get everything( we had our baby with us so lots of stuff)
Random Cons: 1-2 cup coffee maker sucked, no microwave, stains on curtains and carpet, hallway kinda smelled
Most of the Cons are little things, which is why we'd probably stay there again if it was cleaned up some!!
Props to the staff again for being so great!
Nice place with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms could use an update tho.
The view from the room was awesome, the staff was friendly and quick and the room was spacious. But there are some things a potential guest should know: First: There will be bugs everywhereeeee!!!! Huge flies where everywhere and boy were they aggressive!!! We had lady bugs in our room right above us on the ceiling. Then there were flies and mosquitos everywhere! Including dead ones floating in the indoor pool. They kept the door that connected the indoor and outdoor pool open so flies were everywhere.
Second: if you are looking for a hotel by all of the action (ie food, events, stores etc) this hotel is not for you. It is further down on Atlantic and away from things. I enjoyed having the beach to myself however if you don't drive you will have to rely on Taxis or on the bus service. The hotel also offers a shuttle but we never saw it. And when asked about it guest services said it only runs during a certain time.
I gave this hotel four stars because I had a great time and the view from our room was amazing. Housekeeping was prompt and we never had to call down for room cleaning. The guest services staff was respectful, courteous and they always greeted me with lovely smiles and energy. However if I would suggest somethings to the hotel it would be: clean the rooms a bit better. There was dust and stuff in corners of the room, and in the AC vents. The carpet was a bit worn and dirty. Wyndham should consider upgrading the hotel. Lastly tell the staff it is not okay to take change from the guest's room. Housekeeping came in to clean and took money from my room. Though it was not a lot of money it is the principal. It's not a nice thing to do regardless of the amount of money. I think this hotel has a lot of potential if they would retrain the staff and upgrade the hotel to fit the surroundings. Although I did have a good time there I think the next time I visit virginia beach I will stay at a different, cleaner hotel.
The hotel was ok nothing to fabulous attended an event there the dinner detective show. The food was not the greatest and facilities needed some updating. It was hot in the reception area. But the even was 5stars
Room was all I needed, bed was huge and sheets were sparkling white, carpet was clean and so was bath. Coffee maker and fridge worked, what more could you want?
Great room, friendly staff, good services on hotel property (pool, restaurant etc.) good location and good prices ! will be going back in 2017
Stayed in room 118 on 08/28-29 the worst experience ever. Checked in at 9pm with my husband when we came into the room there was no toilet paper and I had to call the front desk for someone to bring us some. The AC, the coffee machine, and the refrigerator is not not working, worst of all flies all over the place and the smell in the room was horrendous. Called the front desk on 08/29 around 12pm the lady was rude the manager Nicky did not want to accommodate us by changing us to a different room with a working AC all she said was we will call maintenance and if you want to change to a different room there will be an up charge. Incredible the place is not what I expected it to be and the least that Nicky could have done was accommodate us to another room especially after spending 489.54 for two nights. It is now 10pm we went out hoping that by the time we came back the AC would be fixed and it is not. I understand that due to the pandemic they cut back on many things but if that is the case they should not be charging what they are to be staying here and they should be giving back refunds instead of just apologizing.
Not like other Wyndham properties. Old fixtures, furniture and decor . Away from main oceanfront and not much to do onsite. No game room or hang out spots. Pool does not face the ocean...very small and not too clean. Dissapointed with this Wyndham.
It was a good place to stay. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy, the tv has lots of channels, and there is even a desktop. The location was good aswell. Only problem is the indoor pools. I found that the pool and sand, the hot tub had so much sand that I could see it. It was also very crowded in the hot tub. But besides that, the hotel is a great place to stay at if your looking for a place to stay near a beach.
We had a nice stay. Yes, the room rates are high but the views are beatiful. We brought our dog Rory, it was her first time at the beach. We found the accommodations to work well for a family with a pet. Since it is located above 42nd St. dogs are allowed on the beach before 10 AM and after 6 PM. There is an area on the premises to walk dogs and additonal green space across Atlantic Ave. Rory met a lot of friendly pet lovers, shout out to Pam . The Wyndam woked well for us.
The room was not kept up, your charged resort fees for things unavailable ie pool, fitness, housekeeping. My credit card was charged over $400 for a prepaid room. My credit card information was copied and several attempts were made but my bank stopped it and I never handed over my card to anyone but the front desk clerk at Wyndham. Can't prove it but I know no one else swipped my card. Done with this company total let down.
We had the view of a ugly fence, right beside the entrance than squeaks like a banshee everytime it moves. Also...only 8 bikes? They go quick. Super friendly workers, always willing to chat and share a smile.
Stayed for a work event. Rooms were outdated and "quirky" but clean
Breakfast in the restaurant was good. Rooms need a little work.
Beautiful scenery, loved the indoor hot tub and swimming pool. The hotel is right on the Beach so you can walk out the back door to the sand and ocean waves. It was nice and peaceful and calm.
5 + 2 = Family, because my family = 7. I seen many families. Dog friendly!
My room wasn t clean, the fire alarm was out the wall. The pool was closed and dirty and made the view from my room repulsive.the service was terrible. Everything looks ran down and you can hear everything your neighbors say. All and all I definitely didn t enjoy my time here and don t recommend to anybody.
Beautiful room and exquisite view of the ocean. The location being further from all of the tourist areas made strolling on the beach a much more pleasant experience. The staff were very professional and courteous. I cant say enough about what a positive experience I had at this location.
Great room, great price! Currently staying here for 3 nights, the room is great! Gorgeous view and very clean and roomy. I do wish they had said something about the room being an adjoining room to another. Also the doors on this floor all slam when you shut them so its alot of noise, all in all though we love it here and will be back!
This place is absolutely horrible!!! Pay little more and enjoy vacation instead of looking st the dirty curtains, hot tub indoors . The indoor pool area has absolutely no air. So u might as well get heart attac in the hot tub or pool. Disgusting dirty windows. This place has to be one star hotel. Don t try stay here like we did!i dare you...
Beautiful location at quier Northern end of Virginia Beach. Nice size fooms, very comfortable beds, and very clean. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Perfect beach front. Loved our stay and would definitely return and recommend to others!
We prepaid our hotel over a week in advance, upon arrival was told there was a $20.00 security deposit which we was told would be returned on checkout. When checking out we was told it had been refunded but it hasn't. Bathroom smelled awful and hallway to our room was so hot due to a snack and ice machine putting out large amounts of heat into the hall way, a/c hardly worked and ceiling was falling apart in front of door. Not worth the money and they took even more money after getting there customer service was just awful heard a desk worker screaming at a customer when we got there
Not as good as their marketing has tried to make it look. Not a 5 star hotel, not a 5 star rating, a suite from my knowledge is supposed to have multiple rooms, usually including a kitchen. A book for a mini fridge and a micro microwave does not constitute a kitchen. The hot tub in the room is nice, note to self and any others, don't bother with these if you have a tiny person with you, you will never get to use it, unless you can lock said tiny person out.... don't recommend that, though, didn't try it, not gonna.
The hotel was clean, quiet and relaxing. Barry checked us in and was very nice and gave us all the information we needed to have a wonderful stay!
I wanted to like this place... Really, I did. And it started off great. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very capable and knowledgeable man at the front desk. When we went to our room we were pleasantly surprised to find that our suite was so large. It had two separate balconies! I was happy to see that there was a kitchenette and a microwave and large refrigerator too. So far, so awesome. We were running late for the rehearsal dinner we were going to (which was at 6:30 in the York Room) due to Memorial Day weekend traffic. First problem was the iron. It stopped working while I was using it. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working either. The air conditioner was leaking too. I was still fine though. The price we were paying was so good for what we were getting. We had ocean views! Before going to the rehearsal dinner, we stopped by the front desk to ask for directions to the York Room. The young man was not sure and gave us incorrect information. Then he shouted the right directions to us as we were heading up the stairs. The dinner was very good. After dinner we went to the outdoor area on the beach. The bar and the bartenders in the lounge were awesome. Due to recent surgery I have urgent need to go to the bathroom sometimes and we were going to call it a night. We were heading back to our room and we were called to from across the lobby by a very aggressive woman at the concierge desk. She had a hard time understanding that I needed to get back to the room. But... Whatever... Still everything was fine. Next day we ordered room service for breakfast. The young man on the phone was not sure about things and had to keep asking others what to do. All in all, everything was still fine though. We went to the beach. Very nice! Beautiful, perfect weather. Next morning we ordered room service again. The girl on the phone was a much more adept at her job. She called back with the total of the bill. And then again when the food was on the way. Inconsistency is not good though. We went to the wedding at another venue but had to come back because of my digestive problems. Yesterday we had a great day. We rented bikes and went exploring. When we returned to the hotel I decided that I wanted to pay to stay until 4 instead of the regular check out time. My partner was paying for everything else as a birthday present to me. The room was in his name. I told him that I wanted to pay the extra $100 and he made arrangements. I had also paid for the bicycles. Today I was awakened out of a sound sleep by housekeeping. No one had informed her about our late checkout. She looked very confused. Really? This is really inexcusable. I am sorry. Still, I was okay. We went down to the beach for one last time before our 4:00 checkout time. Once again I was needing to go back to the room because of my digestive issue. It was 3:00. Our card key had been deactivated. It was the last annoying straw. Yes, I was angry. I still am. I am sorry to say that I was using some rather colorful language. But, rather than try to make up for their mistake, I was made to feel like a criminal. Security was called, and the man at the front desk threatened to call the police when I called down to tell him how unhappy I was that we would still be required to pay the extra $100 dollars. That was money that I was paying to ensure that we still had the room until 4:00. My wishes were NOT honored. Yet I was still forced to pay money for something we did not receive. No, the room was NOT in my name. But I was the one paying extra. When I called downstairs after regaining access to our room, I was told that if I did not stop harassing him, he was going to call the police. I merely wanted a resolution and to be apologized to for their mistake of prematurely denying us access to our room. Is that asking too much? There really do need to be some changes made here. I am livid.
Awesome!! The presidential suite was awesome.. but for as much as we paid, a complimentary bottle of champagne would have been great for the bride and groom
Hotel location is GREAT, however...
The hotel was not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes left by the elevator overnight that I witnessed housekeeping walk right past. There was dog poop on the carpeting (I stayed on the pet floor because I have dogs).
The pool is smaller than the website shows.
Nice location away from boardwalk. However not all rooms are facing the ocean. Also, no microwave in the room that we got. For a 3 star hotel, I was expecting better amenities in the room.
The bed was real dirty, sheets had urine stains on it and pillows to.
This is not the place to stay if you want luxury!!! We had a two room suite that was dirty. It had dirty old wash cloths hanging in the shower, the tub was also dirty. Then we ordered a cot and they didn't bring it the first night but chargered anyway. We wanted to order room service however there was not a hotel directory or menu in our room. We called the front desk two days in a row and still never got one!!! All in all, you get what you pay for!!! The only reason for 2 stars is the service and food at the restaurant was very good!!!!
This was the first time getting to take my family on vacation, so we were pretty excited. I was very nervous after reading the reviews that I would regret choosing this hotel. I'm unsure as to why there are so many bad reviews. We had a beautiful view of the ocean, rooms were nice, and staff was very pleasant. There was one in particular, a housekeeper named Debbie. She was so kind and accomidating. We hoped we would see her every time we left our room and did a few times. Overall this trip was wonderful and I would come back again.
the rooms are so clean and the staff is incredibly nice it s been a wonderful stay and they literally tend to your every need. the beach access is probably the best part and the restaurant room service is a huge plus!
Enjoyed event attended wedding and food services the grill
Lovely staff, good location, amazing view, free parking and got a great deal on the room! The French toast at breakfast was delicious.
Where do I begin. This is the first review I've written on a Resort Hotel but it is necessary. Let's start with one small bar of soap for a suite with three sinks, no in the ice machines on the 8th or the 6th floor then go to the elevator breaking down and not being able to get back our 8th floor room after breakfast. We were wanting to go to the beach after breakfast but had to walk up 6 flights of steps to get to our suite. He breakfast buffet consisted of powered eggs and biscuits with no butter for 12.00. My compete was good.
Go to happy hour and get flat beer . The kitchen was closed due to an emergency so the wing special was a no go. The whole place looks like an emergency waiting to happen. The beaches are wonderful ,the staff is nice and helpful.,but the condition of the hotel and personal amenities are atrocious for a suite they put on line for $360 a night. We were told we would get a reduction for our room but when you go to the beach for a two day retreat you don't need a reduction you just don't want to be inconvenienced over and over and over.....wynn resorts needs to put money into this property and focus on customer services.
If i ever move this is where i want to relocate to.
Overall my stay from July 3rd-5th was fair.Housekeeping and the front desk receptionists were nice. However, being that it was a "holiday weekend" the hotel was very busy making it hard to have access to the loading carts to carry your luggage.Bad enough we were booked for the back tower so I literally had to search the entire hotel to find one.Secondly,we were saddened that no rooms had microwaves! We had to walk to the gift shop in the main lobby to bend down(sit on the floor was easier)to warm up our food while watching a large amount of flies fly by in the overheated tight room.Lastly,we chose this hotel due to its location for our son's 8th bday. Both of my son's were so thrilled that their was a indoor/outdoor pool. Not quite kid friendly being my youngest is 5 and could barley stand up in the pool.
Warm friendly staff, excellent rooms and great breakfast!
Pictures make rooms look huge. Not at all like the pictures when booking this room. Fridge not cold. Was told a full size coffee pot and it was a one cup or 2 cup. Hot tub was not working. No air in the hallways. Elevator stopped working and we were on the 6th floor. Tje oitside pictures again are nothing to the really pocture. Very small patio. Ocean has a drop off not safe if you are not steady on yoir feet or strong enoigh to step up high. Just no at all lime the hotel i stayed up closer to the stores 2 years ago. The best western plus i think was alot better and beach was nicer.
Great location, but poorly maintained hotel. Stayed for 3 nights July 2-5, and was extremely disappointed with the cleanlinessl. First off we were placed in a pet room which was filthy - stains on the linen and carpets.
Placed in another room and there was a large cockroach crawling on the floor. Reported to front desk and front desk wanted to fumigate while we are in the room. Did not allow it... Took pictures...
Bathroom was extremely grimy and carpets were not cleaned for years - scared to take off shoes.
Stuck it out because was not given any other options.
Great view of the beach. Clean rooms. Had a lot of wind noise at night.
In my opinion, Glenn, the general manager has poor customer service skills. I checked out thirty minutes after my late check-out time, and he charged me for another night. When I called to inquiry about it, he was very rude and refused to offer any resolution. If anything, I would have been fine paying a late check-out fee but my issue is being charged for another night, and then being disrespected and belittled by the General Manager. I would not recommend this hotel.
Night one we had no towels after multi request we finally received towels night two at 11pm. Bags of garbage were placed by the elevators where our room was located. These bags of trash that had food in them stayed there until day three when we checked out. I noticed the front desk multi times. Day three my child was laying in bed and I saw some kind of bug on him. Well that bug was a flea. This explained the little bites on our legs. Overall worst hotel I ve Weber stayed in.
We were very unsatisfied with our stay.
Check in was at 4, but the room wasnt ready, so we had to sit around and wait with 2 very restless toddlers. The room we had booked, first floor walk out to the beach, wasnt available anymore when we finally checked in.
The AC in the hotel seemed to be broken because it was so hot and muggy. The AC in our room was broken and was freezing cold, we couldn't even turn it off. The white comforter and sheets had stains all over them. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The floor in the bathroom was disgusting. The coke machine across the hallway from our room had a hole in the ceiling above it, and nasty water had dripped down and stained the whole machine.
We will never stay at another Wyndham again.
Aside the fact that they put me in the wrong room, it's a nice Beach location to Lodge for vacation. The staff was kind, food was ok
Wet outdated rooms. Most of the staff has been very rude. Put us in the wrong room and have been very hard to work with to change rooms, hanging up on me when it took 5 hrs for the new room to be ready and would not drop everything g to change rooms.
Had to exit the elevator for hotel staff not wearing a mask disregarding state orders to do so and sign posted all over the hotel.
Attended an event in the restaurant. The staff was very professional and friendly. The food was excellent.
Definitely a good value for the price and well beyond expectations. The veiw was amazing and the roar of the ocean from the 18th floor was incredible. The room was a bit dated and rather dusty. The room we stayed in had two bathrooms and the smaller one had beach sand on the tile. As a former house keeper, I expect a certain level of cleanliness that most may overlook but in whole, this was a very nice stay. I would say only four star as the presidential suite did not have any equip dishware at all and was not properly prepared for out stay. The hospitalities worker at the frobt desk was really nice and the stay was otherwise very peaceful. Great bang for your buck. Management, your housekeeping folks need some training.
Overall stay was okay. However, only rooms with suites have microwaves. Therefore, we had to walk to the front desk for a representative to heat our food behind a wall that we would not see past just for the food to be cold by the time we got bak to the room. Side view balcony very invasive. No privacy at all You can look to the left or right and almost see in neighboring rooms. Water pressure was great However, the water gets boiling hot We both burned ourselves the first night Water knob was very tricky to gage as far as how hot or cold. To make matters worse the tub was stopped up and TV was not working. Also, limited parking space for such a big hotel. Most likely wont be staying here again.
It was ok the breakfast buffet should have been free wasn't worth it at all
A lot of construction going on at the time and wasn't told about it before booking the room. That may have made a difference in the room we choose.
Found this gem while trying to outrun Hurricane Dorian
Went for a wedding. Staff was courteous. Ballroom was nice.
Well priced and right on the beach but run down with leaks, damaged furniture, and faulty fixtures. Pet friendly for a fee.
We reserved a suite a month before the trip (5 in family). Got there, desk said we had reserved a room on a high floor (which was not correct). No suites left, so we crammed into a regular room. Air conditioner was really loud. Loud units are a common travel problem, but this was off the charts. The suite issue was really important because I needed a quiet room for some work.
There was a mix up with our room. We thought we booked a king bed and ended up with a double queen. We made it work. The room was clean, balcony kind of small though. The walk from the hotel to the ocean was kind of long especially when you have cooler chairs and umbrella. They are pet friendly. The blue Angels were in town that weekend my husband has never seen them before so we really enjoyed that.
it's almost 5 and we just got out keys for our room, which was scheduled to be ready at 1. Rude customer service too.
Nice amenities. But there were silver fish bugs in my bathroom and I saw a roach in the lobby.
I waited forever for my room! I had to remind them. I was there for a conference and the conference rooms were decent.
The best part was the little traffic on the beach in front of the hotel so plenty of space to relax and the view of the water and area from my room.
Ball room was nice. Staff are great and very polite. Parking was a bit of a pain with a small parking garage.
Great location, fine restaurant, and excellent rate
Stayed off season so the price per night was nice. Rooms were dated and the toilet ran constantly. Advised the front desk the next day but didn't offer anything for the trouble, just a "thank you for letting us know".
Wyndham is disgusting. Please don't go there, pictures are deceiving. Carpet stinks, old bldg. Horribleb if u have class don't go there. Too expensive for the money!
The rooms need to be vacuumed and better elimination of the cockroaches
Yesterday was a great event... Live bands, good food, and drinks! #757LocalBeachQueen
Great location for a conference. I had a great time and the hotel provided great service and meals.
The best hotel to face the ocean
Dog friendly, free shuttle to the boardwalk ,great staff. The only downside is it is not in walking distance to the boardwalk. Great place will be back!!
It was supposed to be a 4-star hotel but it didn't live up to it. It was under renovation and there was stuff that was broken in the room. We were expecting at least a microwave in the room and there wasn't. There was only one chair to sit on. The decor was outdated. It was not as clean as I expected. The sheets were really really wrinkled and there was not a bedspread on the bed.
My experience was good, the staff was amazing and very helpful
first of all the room was NOT ready at check in time... the lobby floor was soaking wet! when i finally got checked in the elevators were filthy, the hallways stunk. i get to my room it s BUGS everywhere! stains on the sheets and the room was just absolutely disgusting!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! they need to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!!
We had a rescue 14 awards banquet over the weekend. The staff was amazing.
