Was admitted to the ER (the bright spot in our short stay there was the ER doctor and trauma nurse) after experiencing chest pains inflight from NY. The first unsettling experience we had was when I was rolled in for a chest CT to determine if the lungs had a clot. The tech commented about my getting a head scan... I said... er, no I am supposed to get a lung scan and he said no, the order said head scan. I said the ER doc had clearly stated lung scan so he left to go inquire... coming back laughing and saying "It's a good thing we checked!" Then after being sent to a room in Bldg 4, 4th floor, I was sent around 8 am for a nuclear stress test and ECHO. I (and two other ladies) had the first part of the scan then sat in the hallway waiting on the stress part because the tech said they had to wait for a cardiologist to appear. We were there almost 1.5 hrs! Finally I was taken in, did the stress part then did the second scan. Afterwards the tech said I was to return to my room and another tech said "she is supposed to have an ECHO" whereupon the first tech said "take her to her room". I'd not been in my room long before another aide came to take me to the ECHO. When I arrived there the nice ladies said "where have you been? we've been expecting you!". I arrived back at my room around noon. We had no feed back from anyone about my tests until noon THE NEXT DAY! ... and was then told I had had a "small heart attack"! It seems incompetent to us that it took so long for this. Then I was told I'd be discharged (it took until 8 pm!)... and in the meantime a young woman bounced in saying "Hi, I'm Heather from Nutrition and they've asked me to talk to you about a diabetic diet." and I replied "I am NOT diabetic." and she looked at her paper and repeated my name and room number and I said I didn't care what her paper said, I am not there because of diabetes... I was there because I had a heart attack. She backed out of the room apologizing. All in all this was not what I would call a positive experience.

I had a sprained wrist and arrived early in the morning even though the parking situation was very weird and messy. The nurse staff was quick and efficient but one of the nurses his name is Paul was the best thing that ever happened that night. He took care of me and my son and made sure that we were comfortable. And when I had to get my x-rays done he went above and beyond the job to make sure that my son didn't feel scared or alone. He was definitely the hero that night.

We had a close friend taken here after a serious fall/injury. The care he received upon arrival until he was moved out of ICU was wonderful. However, upon arrival on the 8th floor, his care was horrendous! This highly decorated veteran was basically left to fend for himself. His maintenance & pain meds were hours late (if he even got them at all) even after repeatedly asking for them, one nurse didn't speak a word of English, his room was hotter than Hell itself, and don't even think of asking for help going to the bathroom. This man had several skull fractures, a brain bleed, a broken eye socket, broken cheek bones, a broken nose, and a hole in his top lip requiring 15 stitches. NO ONE should receive the kind of care he received on the cardiac (8th) floor. Only 6 days after his initial arrival, he checked himself out of this place because he felt the care he was receiving was detrimental to his health. He said that even with everything he experienced in Vietnam, multiple heart attacks, and a cardiac arrest, he has never been scared of dying, until his stay on the 8th floor here.

Please, please if you love your unborn child DO NO...

Please, please if you love your unborn child DO NOT GO HERE. This is the worst hospital I ve ever been to. I was induced with no solid reason why (thanks Intown Midwifery) and I sat in labor and deliver 5 DAYS. Most of the nurses are RUDE, inexperienced, unprofessional, and are traveling nurses. So they really don t care about you or anything else. The food is equal to prison food. Getting your room cleaned is an act from congress. I only went there because of the water birth. Which I didn t even get. Watch your own baby 24/7 in the mother and baby unit. Good luck on finding a nurse after 2am. You re on your own. If your baby has jaundice. Ask to be transferred to a different hospital for proper care. AMC use the oldest, cheapest phototherapy light and it will NOT work. Your baby jaundice level will go back up once you leave. Please what ever you do go to a different hospital. Oh and the rooms are an absolute joke. Tiny. Outdated. Dirty.

Oh a positive note. Margret (the midwife) was successfully able to deliver my son by herself!!! Yeah the nurses were not in the room and would not answer the phone.Oh the view of the city was nice. And my son is alive, thanks to the nurses at ANOTHER hospital who helped him after he was readmited 24 hours after being discharged from AMC

I tried to work through the pain, while on a bad p...

I tried to work through the pain, while on a bad prescribed drug, as my doctor suggested. My symptoms grew worse by the time I reached the federal buildings. Personnel saw me struggling, and sat with me, until an ambulance arrived. Once I was placed off the gurney, onto a hospital bed, I was left there. When the nurse returned, I explained that I was in excruciating pain.I needed to use the restroom, but the pain in my chest, and lower back, at that time was preventing me from being able to move. She left the room, for an even longer period. Once she returned, I had soiled myself, again. Another nurse was with her, when she returned. They had aquired a wheelchair. When they attempted to get me from the bed, to the wheelchair, they dropped me on the floor. They became frustrated with me, because I was crying. And, angry because I was in additional pain when they dropped me. Another nurse came in to assist them. They made comments about my fresh aroma, and something about how I reminded one of them of fresh cherry blossoms. I was rolled to the front door, and sat on the ground, in front of the hospital. I asked where a bus stop was, and was told I was at it. I recall making my way towards the door, and the security guard charged towards me as if to strike. I just wanted to use a phone, to have one of my children come get me. I did not know the area, I walked, I was still delusional, because of the medication, and I was hurting. I was afraid if I sat too long, I would freeze to death. I made my way back downtown, to my car. As I was driving to the V.A. hospital, the pain became unbearable. As to not cause an accident, I pulled into the Fern Bank. I was delusional, hallucinating, and struggling to hold on. But, I was able to associate the fact that my Mother briefly worked at the White House during the Carter Administration. I would either be able to pull myself together there, when the pain subsided, die on peace, and pain, or be helped. All I could tell the guard is that I was hurting, before my voice went out, again. I was taken to Grady Memorial. I heard the rumors about it being the worst hospital in the area. I didn't see it as so. There was an extremely long wait, in the Emergency Room, for me, it allowed a little for my pain to subside, and my voice to clear up. I was able to tell the nurse about my medications, my recent contact with mold, and being dropped at the other hospital. At that time, I did not know about side effects of the medication, or that an allergy I had to mold exasprating my symptoms. After the test, I was allowed to bathe, given a set of clothing, and a staff member contacted my son. Given the amount of people waiting for assistance, I was very satisfied with the care rendered. There were no other patients at Atlanta Medical Center, because I did not look, or smell my best, but I had my medical information. And, I would have understood a referral/transport to a mental health facility. Most doctors mis diagnose my symptoms as psychological, anyway, when they have no other ideas about an underlying cause. Anything, other than inflicting more pain, and dumping me on the street, just a phone call...Further still, I unfortunately had to return to the mold infested dwelling. And, taking the same medication. While transporting my belongings to my new dwelling, I again was overcome by excruciating pain, my mind started playing tricks on me again, the traffic was too fast. As a precaution, I pulled into Burger King. I did not wish to get into an accident, I did not want to hurt anyone. I did not get out of the car, because I could not, under my own power. I recall speaking to the young lady at the drive thru, when she told me nobody would bother me, if I parked iut of the way. Because I was unable to function, my voice was out, and the doctor at Southern Regional hospital, without an exam, said I looked fine to him. I was charged with criminal trespassing, and whatever else. 3 months in jail. Prescribed halderol? and benedryl. 12 mos house arrest in mold infested quarters Cymbalta and Black Mold

Delivered my son here! My nurses were great but never saw a dr the whole time I was there & they couldn t even tell me where to get my son circumcised at since the dr wasn t doing them at the hospital. The food was horrible. Took almost an hour just to get Motrin for pain. Labor & Delivery great! Mom and Baby needs to be more informative. Plus they discharged us 5 hours after would & the new shift of nurses had no idea what was going on & couldn t find a baby dr to even discharge my son!!

I was a patient at Atlanta Medical Center for 13 d...

I was a patient at Atlanta Medical Center for 13 days, July 2013.

For three days I was in ICU ( 5 STARS.) Bottom Line, they saved my life. Dr. Miriam Parker and her staff of student physicians and most of the Nurses in ICU, I cant say enough in praise about them.

HOWEVER, One late night/early morning in ICU, I had an awful nurse - Shannon. She had to clean me up and she made me feel so awful and ashamed. Doctors thought I had a stoke and when I was trying to say something to her, and she told me something to the effect of - "until I can speak to where she can understand, she can do nothing for me". It was awful. It was the middle of the night. I did not have my phone to call my family. I was afraid. I was even afraid to tell the Doctors what was happening to me, because they would leave and I would still have to deal with her. But I told the Doctors and they IMMEDIATELY removed her from caring for me.

Out of ICU... a different situation altogether. While the Doctors are excellent. The infrastructure is lacking. One time I called for assistance to use the restroom - no one came. I ended up urinating on myself. It was 2 hours and 20 minutes before someone came to see about me. Luckily, I was mobile enough to clean myself up and change my gown etc., but it was still 2 hours, 20 minutes.

The workers there really try to provide service with the little they have, but it is a challenge.

What is really sad, I wrote a letter to the hospice administration detailing my experience. NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH THE HOSPITAL.

I m giving this place a 3 not because of how my stay went but how everything didn t work out the hospital staff nurses and doctors were nice to me everyone was nice and that s what make a place stand out a lot more but sadly it had a lot of down falls as to why I m giving it a 3 when I m really thinking of a 2 I came here on the 18th at about around 4pm 2 do a water birth but could not because my doctor didn t do it and my midwife wasn t around and also I was told I had 2 be at 8 centimeters that s fine I was in active labor for more then 22 hours so after a long wait the next day felt even longer my midwife was still not in I told the hospital that this would be my last baby and that if no one I new was in could someone else do it seeing how when my doctor wasn t in he was able to temporarily be replaced by a few other doctors whom I never seen before or didn t know to do his part it started getting very upsetting I wasn t able to do a water birth I was in bad pain from having contractions from 4pm on the 18th of September until September 19th the next day they didn t really have much ways to treat bad so I had to deal with it all once again the staff was very nice but a lot was unorganized very badly!! I had my son 9/19/19 at 8:42am with the help of some of the nurses and my boyfriend my doctor didn t come In until later to pull the rest of my biblical cord in Placentia out which I still didn t have a problem I was just happy I broke my own water to be able to push my son out I m not sure what time I got moved to the next room but I was moved the room was very small in seemed dirty with black marks on the wall in it looks like kids other then mine were in this room before me the walls by the vent was messed up pretty bad in my shower was broken so I had to hold it to wash up I noticed it was broken off the hook that it was supposed to be on that still wasn t a problem to me so then we go into September 20th skip that day then September 21st which was supposed to be my release day the wall notes for expected release day said September 21st I know how most hospital are there on there job about getting you out the hospital on that last day but clearly the staff forgot about me and the doctors didn t want me to leave food service was on time as always but didn t really start to see a nurse staff until 12pm and then a good few hours after a doctor came in the room as if they wanted me to play a guessing game as to when I thought I was leaving and then said it might not be today but we will see then a few more hours later don t heard from anyone I was there until I got my last dinner I already made plans for my friend to take me home but he could only be there so long he got there around 4 going on 5pm I was still there then another doctor two whom I stated was not my doctor came in to talk to me around 6pm or going on 7pm at night now I believe and talked to me my doctor never came n to speak with me ever only after I gave birth n I did not see him again after anyways we talked about how I would be back on my medication that I was taking once Again that was fine but then I started getting upset as to why I was still here she left my night!! Time nurse came in around 8pm going on 9pm at night not sure if some of the staff was aware that I was still there but she spoke to me as to y I was still there I stated that I didn t know they keep saying they were worried about postpartum depression but not once to any staff I stated harming myself or my kids I clearly stated I m not a happy person n that I cry a lot anyways getting super late now the doctor I spoke with at 7 didn t put my medication in the system until after 7pm almost the same time my night nurse came in why so late idk so now I m getting discharged atleast I thought I was at 9 going on 10pm at night still waiting it s getting really close to the next day as I m checking out I ve been asking the staff all day for diapers n wipes for my son more pans for me because I ran out n for the last few days I was there nothing was replaced for me and my son I left with nothin

I was attacked by Yellow Jacket wasps (10 stings) at 3:15pm, and was not sure if I am allergic or not. So I called 911 which put me on hold for 10 minutes, then someone answered and asked me questions. 10 minutes later a Grady ambulance showed up and picked me up. The ambulance staff was very concerned, helpful and caring. Once i got to the hospital the lady from the ambulance guided me and helped to get to the front desk. Then she said that when they call my name I will just head to the door. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes then was called. After that one of the nurses asked me some questions and filled a report and told me to wait in another room. I waited there for 20 minutes then was taken to a room where i was addressed by several nurses. They took my info, proof of insurance, and gave me a prescription. I was home by 7pm. Over all the experience was not bad, but i am not sure what would have happened if i was allergic, would they let me wait that long? I saw a couple of people waiting that were in real pain and seemed to becoming unconscious and they were still there waiting when i left. Not sure about their condition but looked pretty rough. So i can see where people would rate this place bad but with me i was positive and got a positive treatment.

I was here visiting from out of state and got ill. When the EMT's brought me in the ER it was super warm, they did not transfer me to a bed for a while and when it happened my boyfriend had to help me get in the bed because it was very outdated with no step and the nurse did not pull out the foot extension so my boyfriend had to figure it out. He also had to remind the nurse to put her gloves on. The nurse couldn't draw blood wellwhich i told her my arm was difficult so use my hand however she did not listen but ended up having to use my hand anyways. The PA and doctor were going back and forth about my diagnosis when I had already told them what was wrong. I felt so nervous about my care and am very thankful my boyfriend was there. I have worked at a hospital for over 12 years and this for me was a bad experience. I will never return willingly

if I could give this place a zero I would. You would be better off trying to save yourself than to go to this place. Worst experience at a hospital that we have ever had. They did not even know how to put in an Iv! Came in for emergency services and as soon as we did, knew we needed to leave. And don't even get me started on the lab work and insurance - Doubt there is a hospital worse than this.

There's no substitute for such a loving and caring staff and excellent doctors took care of my 97 year old friend with a broken hip she came through with flying colors despite her hearing problem. Why go to a charity Hospital like Grady which is so nasty and has long lines when you can go to the former Georgia Baptist with real professionals

Came here to see a Dr. Wilson, who's actually a really sweet and caring doctor, but his staff and the quest diagnostics employee who drew my blood were horrible. This lady was in a bad mood, rolling her eyes at me even through I wasn't even doing anything. She was in such a hurry that I got a horrible bruise from the blood drawing, which has never happened to me (and I have gotten blood drawn more times than I can count).

My 89 y/o father was hospitalized and had major surgery just last week...ended up there for almost 3 weeks. For the most part the staff was fine...especially the 3 EAST crew & physicians! All staff are definitely not equal, had to file several complaints while there...took us almost 3 hours to be discharged! The discharge nurse (Mary)on the 8th floor at the time refused to give him pain medication atleast 2 hours prior to leaving, saying it was hospital policy. I did call back and was informed it was not a policy at all and he could have had it. Another concern is how they'll non-chalantlly inform you of diagnoses you weren't aware of...oh by the way he has Congestive Heart Failure, Pneumonia etc....REALLY?? On top of that the social worker NEVER ordered his walker or home healthcare, nor did he return our calls from messages left!! Very disappointed:(

I See Things Much More Clear Now:

I See Things Much More Clear Now:
You know April 1995 I came to
Atlanta, GA for a Spring Revival and I was 5/months pregnant.
READ WITH CARE:
A pastor from Atlanta was given a
Divine Vision from The Lord that I was going to be Blessed In My Womb To
Conceive A Baby but that the baby would be born in GEORGIA.
I was told by doctors that I could not get pregnant so I didn't believe the pastor nor the Divine Vision she had about me having a baby in GEORGIA.
(UPDATE)
The Divine Vision Was True and I not only a baby in Georgia: I had 3/babies in
Georgia 1993, 1994 and 1995.
2/babies at Georgia Baptist Hospital which is now Atlanta Medical Center and 1/baby at Grady Hospital.
I see clear now THE FACE OF GOD IN THE MEDICAL FIELD.
One of my sons that was born at
Georgia Baptist Hospital have returned to what is now Atlanta Medical Center and is being seen by an AMAZING DOCTOR with a more than
HEAVEN SENT STAFF.
Dr. Vernon J. Henderson of wound care.
This doctor is VERY CARING.
Dear Jesus Christ,
Thank you for Dr. Vernon J. Henderson.
Lord God, Bless Pastor Woods who see Divine Visions from God for real.
Bless my son Emmanuel to recover.
Amen

I don't leave reviews at all but when someone ask for water at 5:30am and was told "let me check with your doctor) 7:45am rolls around I get NO water now that I am hyperventilating in the lobby they proceed to give me water. I will not complain about the "Wait time" any hospital you go to be prepared to WAIT especially over night crew, so I wasn't upset about that. But just not giving someone water after they requested it twice is not a good look. Hell, once I get discharged I gotta go back in to get checked out for dehydration! Not cool wellness! My doctors and nurses were cool!

I went into the ER for a fractured jaw because I didn't have insurance. $1000 dollars for me to wait for 4 hours, have a physician look at me and say I'd probably need a CAT scan. I refused and left. No overnight, no ambulance ride, just $1000 for them to check my vitals and render NO TREATMENT. They said I should be grateful because they gave me a 75% discount. Let that sink in. When I went in I asked how much I should expect to pay for just the visit, not for treatment and they said $250-400. I asked one of their representatives if there are any scenarios where I could walk into the ER and pay less than what I was being charged and they said no, so they lied to me in order to get me to consent to have my vitals taken and see a physician.

The facility is disgusting, there are 3rd world countries with better health care systems. Later I went back for an x-ray ($300) and they found no fracture. After I got a job with insurance I got a second xray and lo and behold, a very obvious fracture! This place is a scam.

Literally the worst hospital I've ever been in. Been here 10 hours with them saying we were going to be put in a room on a different floor. Still nothing. Will not bring an extra chair or anything we have asked for. Night shift is awful except for Nurse Karen and Nurse James. The lady at the desk in Trauma ignored the call Nurse light. We pressed the button & watched her turn it off 5 times. FIVE TIMES. Dirty. Nasty everything. No toilet paper in the bathrooms. horrible experience & pathetic excuse for a hospital. Wish I could leave NO stars.

I have an awesome time in labor n delivery! I believe this place has the worlds top best midwives Michelle, Hope and Pam! The nurses are incredible in both L&D and in the mom and baby floor. The lactation nurses care and are extremely helpful.
Gave a 4 star because of a mean n impersonal nurse in Labor n delivery. Gave me the WORST experience ever. She knows her work really good but has no heart for poor helpless expecting mothers. Sad that some nurses dont know, nursing is a call. They make u feel miserable n unwanted. They think u left the comfort of your home to just inconvinience them n disrupt their comfort. She had the coldest n meanest tone ever. She hated being my nurse and made sure i know it. Or maybe she just hated me! Such nurses tarnish the beauty of AMC's L&D department! Not sure if its wise to name Names. I would have so mothers can avoid her at all cost!

I would absolutely not recommend this hospital for a birth. The A/C was broken, so being in a hot bath (for a water birth) in a hot room was a terrible experience. During the birthing one of the nurses kept cracking jokes, basically mocking us. Afterwards, the nurses tried to rush us out of the delivery room because it was their "policy," when she was clearly in a bad state and should not have been moved. I had to get in their faces to get them to stop trying to move her and check her vitals, which showed rapidly dropping blood pressure... Everyone's fine now, but it was a harrowing experience.

I was not looking to pay for parking and asked the parking attendant about validation, and he gave me the time and hours to the "business " office to discuss this and vpice my complaint! Unreal! The nurse he had was really nice, but other than that, the treatment could be a lot better on the staff' s behalf also!

Most nurses are amazing. But even after being told we were about to get discharged it took over 7hrs to find Dr Welker while he walked around doing nothing instead of typing a few keys to let us leave. Will never come again

Had my doubts about this hospital. After severe bleeding, high heart rate, irregular breathing and extreme pain the staff from the E.R to the MRI area where SUPERLATIVE. I've never experienced pain like this that had me in tears but that first shift of doctors and nurses worked expeditiously to diagnose my problem. I'm very thankful for all the love and support.

Recently stayed in Atlanta Medical Center, when transported there by AFD from the Airport. I learned this was a level 1 hospital so if felt I should get good care. The ER was packed when we got there, due to the flu outbreak, but I was able to get into a triage room pretty quickly. I stayed in that room for a full day, due to no beds. I was finally able to get a room on one of the floors, and stayed 4 days. I noted the hospital was older, but the care I received was good. All the Doctors and Nurses were nice and professional. I would like to thank Dr. Lall and his staff for the care I received.

My dad was in a motorcycle accident, and he was in trauma, your chairs were very uncomfortable, and there wasn't anyone giving updates. Then he goes to his room. and they were constantly knocking all day and all night. He got no sleep, but you tell him to rest, someone tell me how that makes sense. The rooms were tiny, and only one chair. So that needs to be improved. Or, you can add a waiting room to floors 3+.

Physicians and nursing were excellent and quality care for our family member. The only down fall to this hospital is the lack of cleanliness. Bathrooms (all of them) were nasty, floors were sticky . Everything was needing a good wipe down and some major bleach. When your there for days you notice a lot , where was any house keeping staff? And I thought ICU had rules in place for a reason ! Like no kids under 12 , when your worried about a loved one and you have a waiting room full of little kids screaming, running ect . It s like come and go at will and outside the hospital you have vagrants everywhere. I remember when it was the old Ga Babtist Hospital and sixteen years ago when my youngest was delivered here, it was nothing like this. It s bad when you all you want to do is go home and take a bath and wash your clothes as soon as you walk in the door.

My son was ran off the road by his married, supposedly baby mama's family. He had no feeling from waist down. We live on the GA/AL line. I begged he be airlifted to UAB or Grady, unfortunately he was taken to Atlanta Medical. To my surprise said (at the time married girlfriend) came to hospital. My son was in Trauma Unit a day and a half, moved to ICU for another day and a half. Said girl was talking photos of board listings Doctors & head nurses then texting this information to her mother. The mother was calling hospital, talking to head nurse and claiming my son was faking and could move his lower body. I was with him the whole time, he was not faking. In fact, demanding to go home even while in Trauma Unit. He was moved to a regular room because this hospital could not determine why he could not feel his legs. He would have muscle spasms during the MRIs. The head nurse came in and claimed he had been seen walking the halls, I demanded to see the video. Her story changed to a nurse claimed to see him move his legs. Physical therapy came in for maybe 5 minutes. They stuck crutches under his arms and told him to walk. My son has upper body strength and attempted to do as he was ordered. The doctors mentioned sending him home after a day in a regular room. I demanded Shepherd Spinal Clinic come and evaluate, unfortunately Shepherd only read reports completed by Doctors and head nurse. He was refused by Shepherd. I refused to leave! My son could not walk and our home was not wheelchair friendly. We were told he would do better at an out of hospital physical therapy facility. We were allowed to stay another night and thrown out on day 5, he could still NOT walk. I advised the Atlanta Medical we would go to another hospital. They informed me, just like Shepherd had, that his records would be read and all other hospitals would go by Doctors documents and reports.

This hospital is where I had my first baby. I was fearful about AMC due to the negative reviews. However from the moment my husband and I arrived till the moment we discharged the entire staff was amazing.

I know I was getting on my nurses nerves because I called her in every other minute. However it didn t stop her from being kind and understanding of how much pain I was in.

My doctor and the on call doctor were amazing. They have such amazing personalities and made me feel comfortable. The mother and baby unit was consistent with the labor and delivery staff. I have no issues coming back again for my next baby!

Worst hospital to go to!!!!! I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. The head nurse Patrica on the 3rd floor is the worst. She has no compassion and very rude. If you don't have a family member to watch every move they make you are left to die. Please please avoid this hospital. I don't even want to give it one star. They need to close this hospital or change the entire administration.

Wow I am looking at so many bad reviews. I guess they take care of the patients with babies better then everyone. I have no problems with them at all. I don't know about the rest of the hospital but it's not dirty where I am at. Not saying that they don't have negative people working here but I am good.

Where do I start? This is by far the WORST so called hospital I have ever visited!! The ER was dirty and nasty looking, a RN walked pass me with a rolling cart filled with 4 large bags of trash..Why are you bringing TRASH through this area? There are ill people here waiting. I was told that 2 people were ahead of me and that soon after I would be seen, my name wasn't even called after 2 hrs of waiting with severe abdominal pain, I then asked the nurse at the main desk if I would in fact be seen tonight and he replied "Hold on, let me check the system..few seconds pass and he says "I'm sorry but, I can't find your name however I can go ahead and input you in the system now" meaning my wait time would have been even longer. I am very displeased with the staff and my overall experience. I immediately grabbed my belongings and left..I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE..PLEASE I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Since my physical therapist and neurologist s office are in the facility, I ve had the displeasure of navigating the Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center for over 2 years.

I ve watched the consistent and mind-boggling decline of the facilities despite expansions internally among doctors and their practices.

At this time there is one working elevator on the side of the hospital my appointments are on and one working elevator in the parking garage that scrapes the elevator shaft making ear-piercing noises and physically jarring the passengers inside.

You can arrive 15 minutes early, but due to the elevators arrive 15 minutes late.

They are recycling 0% of their revenue for the upkeep and maintenance of the property. It s a disgraceful environment to have such high-end personal practices.

they are the worst. My mother n law sat in the ER yesterday from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm when I arrived. She was discharged from that hospital 1wk from today. She sat in the ER with an open womb from Spinal Lumbar surgery with no pain medication because the triage nurse stated she couldn't take her medication. She was crying, cold and unable to go to the restroom on her on. She had not been registered although she signed in at 5:25 pm. Her consent paperwork was shredded because the nurse forgot that she was still in the ER. They would not give her a blanket to keep warm because she was sitting in the ER. They don't give blankets to patients in the ER. REally??? Go figure. They are the worst and I pray to GOD no one's life every depends on this medical jail. They will be a dead SOB.

98%of the employees are pleasant and very helpful. The other 2% couldn't be bothered to help when my husband's phone was gathered up with the laundry and discarded. The hospital made very little to no attempt to help or replace the phone. Very disappointed. The hospital also needs a serious face lift.

From the minute I arrived by ambulance to the ER, I received excellent, professional and timely care from everyone . Nurses and Doctors were patient and kind, which when you are by yourself was such a comfort. I was traveling through Atlanta when I became ill so there was no family with me, which can be quite scary. I was constantly monitored and especially when I was moved to the 3rd floor! I was hospitalized 3 days and never had a bad experience. The Nurses saw to my every need and explained things in layman s terms every time they entered to do a treatment or procedure. They were kind, considerate and extremely patient and I felt comfortable and more at ease because of it! I have been there twice highly recommend it especially for Emergency reasons.

My spouse has been in either hospitals or rehab centers since January. 4 East at Atlanta Medical is certainly not the fanciest one but has excelled at having the most kind, responsive and attentive nursing staff and PT&OT staff of any place we have been. The case managers are kind, helpful and understanding. We appreciate their service and all they do.
I've read lots of negative reviews here but our experience, from the valet parking guys, to the maintenance guys, to security and just staff you meet in hallways and elevators have been cheerful and friendly. Thank you.

Atlanta Medical's trauma center staff gave me great care when I was in an automobile accident. However, their non-medical support staff leave much to be desired. They are incredibly incompetent when it comes to getting patient medical records (stuck somewhere in 1987 in terms of processes of MAILING things back and forth, and being VERY difficult to get records to OTHER doctors' offices, even with consent forms sent). Their billing department is incompetent, having screwed up coding that caused my insurance company to spit it back, and they insist on trying to bill auto accident insurance even though I outright told them when I was there at the hospital that there was no medical coverage on it (the auto accident involved me myself and I, and no other party due to a spinout and rollover into a ditch). If I had a choice, I would have gone to a WellStar facility (accident was in Cobb County) and I hope WellStar cleans house when it purchases AMC. If you have a choice, and are not a trauma victim, unless you can help it I would suggest you go somewhere else.

The most rude horrible mean people I have ever met in a hospital. Every employee except for Mr.Joseph the x ray technician is disgruntled, and lackadaisical. The worst of all is the front desk staff. People are literally sick and the staff is acting as if everyone better just suck it up. If you get sick go to Northside where you will be treated like a human being.

My father was transferred here a few days ago from another WellStar facility in middle GA. My arrival in the emergency room was not well received. They couldn t tell me if he was here or not. Once I was on the phone with a family member mentioning calling the hospital administrator I was quickly escorted to see him.

We asked for 3 days for his vascular surgeons at Piedmont Atlanta to be contacted, 3 days later it hasn t happened. The pictures below show you the horrid conditions of the patient rooms. Water back ups, problems controlling the temperature, and lack of maintenance. In regards to the temperature there s nothing they can do and the nurses have complained about it already.

This place is a joke.

This place is a joke.

The physician Jana Miller is a scam artist - she'll laugh at you while you're in treatment trying to get help.

And she'll send up for payment charges when theyre not necessary - I had to go through a long process with these folks to get this resolved.

Jana Miller should have her medical rights revoked.
Her and her team that worked with me that whole day.

Jana Miller - Watch out for her - She'll set you up, so she can get more money.

Watch out - Jana Miller - Atlanta - Atlanta Medical Center - she's not there to provide medical treatment

If you want to handled with care when your life or health is on the line - Go to a different doctor/physician - go to a different medical center/hospital

Jana Miller is the last person i would want to have provide medical attention to me when I'm in need. And the fact that she laughed and told her other doctors where they laughed at me as well speaks a lot about her character and shows that she done it before as well

My son was in the ER due to a collapsed lung. The hospital was FILTHY!!! Roaches in the sink and crawling on walls in the TRAUMA unit. I was promised a chair several times as my son was treated. I stood for 3 hours while the staff catered to some while ignoring others. Everyone from security to the "cleaning crew" needs to be fired!

My mother suffered a massive stroke and was life-flighted to this hospital. Very knowledgeable, doctors, nurses, etc. She received excellent care, but did not survive her horrific ordeal from the massive brain bleed. We were told very early that she wouldn t survive this, but was given information every inch of the way. The first hospital who life-flighted her to Atlanta Medical told us that her chances of survival were minimal. I was thankful for this hospital s caring treatment of my mother.

Only giving one star because i have to.. 10/9/2018 worst experience my family has had in a hospital. My father was admitted around 5:30am after being in a car accident. My mother and i arrived around 7am and was told they where waiting on x-rays and the ct scan results. Fine. Another hr passes and the Doctor comes in the room and tells us all of his xrays and scans came back fine and that he didn t have any broken bones. Well my father insisted that the pain was too severe in his leg and that he couldn t move it. She kept saying he was just going to be sore from the impact of the crash and left the room. About 10 mins later the orthopedic Doctor comes in and tells my father he broke 2 bones on his leg. Really??? How do you miss that the first time on a X-ray. The nurse Tom or Thomas can t remember his name was RUDE beyond belief. Anytime we asked him a question it was a snark/dismissive remark. You would think the staff would have more compassion to somebody that almost lost their life. Anyway, the icing on the cake is when they discharged my father, rolled the wheelchair in and crutches and left. Didn t offer to help put him in the wheelchair or put his clothes on. My mother and i struggled to put my father in the wheelchair before we finally called Tom and he says i thought you guys had it . Umm no we aren t trained nurses how are we supposed to know how to put him in the wheelchair. No aftercare instructions on how to care for his broken leg or anything, just a description of the prescription. This hospital needs to be shut down and all the employees need to go through training again or fired. Also,BOTH parking decks were closed and the patient drop off area was closed, meaning you had to rush the patient in the car. Just an overall traumatizing experience. I would rather DIE than to be transported to this hospital.
