Great hospital! Great staff.

Great hospital! Great staff.
I personally appreciate the labor and delivery nurses as well as the postpartum nursing staff. I was originally planning to labor at the Atlanta Birth Center but due to complications, had to be admitted to AMC on 7/23 for an induction and over 4 days and 8 shift changes of trying multiple intervention methods the staff was very comforting and respectful. As myself and my baby were monitoring well, no one rushed or pressured me into doing anything I didn't want to do nor did anyone even mention the word cesarean which I highly appreciated. Everyone was aware of my birth plan and goals of a vaginal birth and made me feel supported in helping me get what I wanted. But after 4 exhausting days, I personally opted in for the cesarean and the nurses still remained respectful and supportive. It was a very emotional experience but the staff alone made it as positive as it could've been. All the staff was amazing but I'd like to give a special thank you to Asha and Nadia in L&D and in the Postpartum unit, thank you to all the nurses but especially Jocelyn and Michelle. Naomi and I appreciate every single one of you.

Also, my cesarean incision is honestly almost nonexistent. Thank you Dr. Saint-Louis.

My daughter and son in law were taken here after a car accident. I was very impressed with the level of care they were given. Both had to have surgery to repair their injuries. The doctors were outstanding. I would reccomend them highly. My daughter was in neuro intensive care for a broken L1. She was very unstable when she arrived, Dr. Cumberbatch was able to do immediate surgery to stabilize her spine. I would highly recommend them if you have suffered a severe trauma.

This hospital is the ghetto hospital of Atlanta. The employees are rude and unconcerned. The fast track area is a joke. Take my advise. Go to Emory or Piedmont. And don't come to this hospital at night without protection. It's in the hood.

This hospital is the worst one I've ever been in. I was traumatized and the staff was mean they don't care about the patient. I had surgery where I was cut open in my abdomen and needed the bed pan every time I would press the call light they would turn it off at the desk I held my urine 30 min ended up going in the bed and had to lie in it for 1 hour before any one came and they got ugly with me for urinating in bed. There are many horror stories I have for this hospital. If possible I wouldn't give them 1/2 star.

My Granddaughter was airlifted here with a brain injury after a car accident. The doctors and nurses here are exceptionally good. They are keeping us informed on her condition and her parents and I are comforted knowing her care is in such capable hands.

Had the worst experience at this hospital, the nurses were not friendly, they would just walk in the room without knocking, had an negative attitude barely spoke with no bedside housepitality. My wife was there for 2 days and because of the bad treatment I asked for her to be discharged, and to find out when I got to the hospital that my wife had to find a way out of the hospital from the 8th floor without any assistance because of nurse told her that's not there procedure when they're being discharged was Ludacris. But when I pulled up at the emergency room I was told that procedure was to bring them out in a wheelchair. Then I had a nurse to call me tell me that my wife was in the back of the hospital waiting on me on the curve. Then she told me the wrong directions to go there. I've personally been to all the hospitals here in Atlanta and this definitely was my worst experience. Personally,I wouldn't recommend this hospital for no one. An honestly it should be shut down from the way my wife was traded. Horrible hospital worst experience!!!

Go anywhere else. I had an ER visit there which was horrific. Doctors couldn't provide straight answers or keep track of when meds were administered. The staff was unhelpful. There was no coordination between doctors and nurses. They would not let us transfer to another hospital but would not give us a solid reason why I was not safe to travel. My wife and best friend were luckily with me to advocate on my behalf. Had they not been there it would have been worse. The rooms were not clean to the point where there was hair on the ground and all the air returns were covered in a layer of dust.

This hospital has REALLY gone (down hill) Since (Well Star)bought it out. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE SURGERIES IN THIS HOSPITAL IN THE PASS FEW YEARS AND IT USED TO BE SO "PROFESSIONAL". Customers service is terrible now. The Time of waiting is much longer its almost as bad as not having insurance. THE NURSES TREAT YOU LIKE INMATES INSTEAD PF PATIENTS. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. YOUR ALREADY SICL YOU DONT RESERVED TO BE MISTREAT.

The emergency room is hell! I have Sickle Cell Disease so most of the time i need to be seen asap. Theres always a long wait when i come to the ER at night. We're talking about a 5-7 hour wait. And of course the doctors by this time have attitudes and are very bitchy! They dont listen, they're not compassionate at all, and they'll give you there ass to kiss. Which is a complete difference than being admitted on 3east. The staff on 3east is like family to me. They care and will do any and everything to see that you get better. Shout out to Monica and Kuwaku!! You guys are the best.

This was the most professional compassionate group of people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. When my wife was involved in a tragic accident we stayed there for 66 days and not one day did we encounter a single bad experience. Thanks to every one at the Atlanta Medical Center.

This hospital is unbelievable I cam here five years ago when my mom was sick and everybody in this entire hospital didn't know what was going on. These nurses really need to go back to school and turn in their medical licenses because how is it that you sit in the hospital from 9am and don't get seen until 4am the next day. I'm here with my pregnant girlfriend we've already been here for two hours and all the nurses are just standing around talking and not giving any attention. I promise I will be calling wellstar corporate office because something needs to be done

My sister went here for bacteria in her blood..she went to this hospital conscious! I went to see her the next day and she was unconscious and was struggling. She kept getting worse and worse as days went by..she continued to be unconscious. The third day she was there she coded. I could tell from the moment i stepped into her room each day that these doctors treated my sister like she was already dead and was trying to hurry the process up and open the room for the next patient! Only 1 doctor was amazing! John Sul! He was so amazing! Made a connection with us, made sure we knew everything going on and had faith that my sister would pull thru! He didn t talk to us like normal doctor talk, he come in and show us whatever and spent time with my sister and showed compassion and brainstormed on how to help her. It was like my sister even after she coded and they revived her, she was breathing on her own same day and had Nero activity and was actually shocking the drs! But it was like when he would leave and switch shifts, the next nurse come on and they treated my sister like she wasn t a human but just there to do there job and get gone. No connection, no compassion no nothing. One nurse would leave her trash all over my sister. I d get up and clean her off! Then when our nurse would come back on shift the next day it was like everything was back to doing good with my sister. When he was off for 2 days..that s when everything started getting worse. These nurses treated her like she was already dead..as i already said. Didn t care..walk in do what they had to do change whatever and go disappear for awhile. My sister lost Nero activity and they were going to amputate her hands and feet. Her body was swelling up so bad from liver failure that it was just awful to watch! I feel like the lack of connection and compassion led to my sisters death. I would die in my bed before i came to this hospital. They couldn t wait to take my sister off the machines. It was a hurry process and just rushing us out. My heart hurts for my sister and what happend to her while she was here.

Can I give this hospital negative 100 points? Beca...

Can I give this hospital negative 100 points? Because I would. This is a horrible place to be. If you don't like to be lied and deal with charges you shouldn't pay, avoid it at all costs! I gave birth at least this hospital back in March 2015. It took two hours from coming in until I have the baby in my arms. I did not use any medication during birth and afterwards. They kept us in the hospital for the stupidest reasons for the next three days. I was away from my toddler and begged everyone to send us home, but they came with a line "we just want to make sure". Everything was great- the reason they wanted to keep us was because I was step b positive during my pregnancy and they wanted to do tests that takes three days to find out. Finally third day they came and asked for me to leave (they could not hold me there any longer without a medical reason), but I were to leave my baby in the hospital. If I want to I could sit on the bench next to nicu and wait or leave my breastfeeding baby in the hospital for a day. While hell broke loose. I demanded to see everyone involved in this. Finally pediatrics came and said "sorry". By the way, I always had an option to wait from home for the test results- nobody told me about it during my begging sessions! We went home and of course everything was perfectly fine with the test results. I thought the bad part was over- I knew nothing!

I received a bill for $600. In there I was charged for the food I could't eat (I asked for kosher, they brought us pork sausage every morning), for a lanolin cream (I asked for a small amount and they brought it so late - 5 hrs later to be exact- my mother went home and got me my cream. I never used and they charged me $40!), and the room I never wanted to stay in. I called them and they asked me to send a letter. I did- 4 times! They kept on sending the bill and when I called first time they would say they got the letter and I should give it some time. When I received the bill again, they said they never received the bill. Finally fourth one for received and I got a letter back in October 19th to wait for an answer. Well I got my answer today, they sent my account to collection!!!!

I called them again and they said they sent a letter stating that everything on my account was "medically appropriate". I have to pay the bill, I have no other choice. DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL!!!!

My husband had Outpatient Shoulder surgery. Dr. Keating's and Dr. Troung's team were fantastic. But, the STAR of the show in Same Day Surgery is Ms. Mary. She is a nurse that is constantly checking on everyone. She is definitely the "mom" to all the other nurses and doctors in that area. She is so kind to speak to you and check on you even when you are just waiting. Wellstar AMC, you have a jewel in Ms. Mary.
