What a cool rooftop pool! I'm sure it's better in warmer weather, but it was fun to swim on the roof for a bit. The bar was out of ice for some weird reason, but the bartender was so super friendly that I kind of didn't care that I couldn't get my drink of choice.

Anything & everything from the service, atmosphere, restaurant/bar selection & events, W Austin has IT! I've been a guest for yrs & cannot get enough of it. I visit several times a month and like to introduce friends to it. Thank you for always treating me so well!

Very hip hotel with a really fun and relaxed vibe. The hotel pays attention to small details including switching out the floor mats in front of the elevators depending on the time of day to say things like "good morning" and "good evening". It's really nice. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Additionally it's very close to the river walk and business district

I normally stay at W Hotels because of the exceptional experience they offer. This Hotel is a glaring exception to this. The room had holes in the walls, the bed linens had holes in them, the surface finishes of the tabels had chips in them and the shower head FELL OFF THE WALL! They were very unconcerned with my complaints of the disrepair and with only two exceptions, the staff was rude and/or useless. The two exceptions were the Bellman named Tim, he went above and beyond to try and resolve the issues with my room during my staff. This was truly exceptional service and I can explain how kind and helpful he is/was. The bar tender (I forgot his name) but a bearded gentlemen with a mohawk is a fantastic mixologist and is truly a delight to converse with. Your time here may vary from mine, but I would certainly use caution before booking.

Absolutely delightful experience. The rooms were spacious, the staff was helpful and the newspapers (WSJ/NYT) were a great touch for travelers. I loved the personal touch - I needed thank you cards and asked the receptionist where to get one but he volunteered a few which was really helpful and saved me one more hassle while traveling. Thank you W!

Very modern and beautiful but I would not stay if you are paying regular price. Very expensive and the room was a bit small. The best part is that it is central to everything in the scepter. Parking is expensive, 35 per night.

New chef's both savory and pastry mean good things are happening at Trace. Lawrence Kocurek is back in the kitchen after running a family charcuterie business. I have been a big fan of his since he was leading the brigade at Roy's, so guaranteed good things if you order either the fish or charcuterie offerings. But my favorite dish on a recent trip was a housemade pasta with rabbit. Beautiful bunny get in my belly! As for sweet, I will follow Janina O'Leary to LaV for more of her genius but new pastry chef Angel Begaye has outdone herself at recent events with tasty tidbits. Loved the bites she brought to Big Chill.

Bad experience, with management, when there website was down for days at the time of my scheduled stay. Could not cancel on the website and called Starwood, who said they cancelled my reservation. I continued to call for 3 days and finally they sent communication to the W to ask the penalty be waived. This was due to a serious family emergency, and Starwood said the penalty would be waived. But instead the W claims I was a NO SHOW. What a bunch of crooks

Had the very best time while staying here on NYE! The entire staff was very attentive and they set the standard in hospitality! It was apparent that they were very educated and trained. I highly recommend for the best Austin has to offer for an inclusive stay and play, for a modern and upscale experience. There is no better.

Pretty good rooms, great gym with new equipment and paletons, and great cleaning service. One issue with Ashley from the front desk. She was incredibly rude when I tried to make an edit to a hotel bill for a promotion. Most other front desk, valet, and restaurant staff were nice.

Mattress too hard, pillows are too soft, AC points directly to the head of the bed, towel hanger makes it impossible to close the shower door causing water to spill, shower head is hard to adjust, restaurant menu for in-room dining doesn t tell you that some items have meat, they charge 24% for ordering to your room and you re still expected to tip, snacks and beverages are incredibly expensive, internet is paid, room is expensive.

It s just not worth it to stay here, you re better off staying at another nearby hotel.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary in December, and we decided to stay here for the weekend since we have never been to Austin. The staff at the W were outstanding. They made us feel very welcome! They helped us to any of our accommodations. The suite we were in was spectacular! The full size bathtub was awesome! I definitely recommend staying here. We will be back again.

Was here for a company event that spanned 2 days. I was very impressed by the organization of the caterers, the food was also delicious. All the bathrooms were well maintained and there were lots of them.

Lost person item, got a dirty towel, got unrecognized charged for mix bar.
I and my team stayed there for a business trip, several of us lost our personal belongings in the hotel, I got a very dirty towel, and was charged for mix bar, which I swear I did not take anything from the room! Staffs are not helpful on the lost nor the hygiene issue!

Disappointed with the service here, nobody greeted me at valet, guy was just sitting there and finally came up and asked if I was picking someone up. Didn t offer to help get bags out of my car. Reception was dismal, girls working the front off to the side talking. Room was very nice, but some of the furniture is dirty. Headboard had a bunch of ugly scratches and tears. Didn t appreciate that the towels were hung up messy. Everything just a little beat up in the room. Didn t meet my expectations of a W hotel.

I can't speak for the hotel rooms, as I was not an overnight guest. My experience was as an attendee of my niece's wedding. The hotel hosted wedding-related events over three days and the staff pulled off each event flawlessly. Attentive and professional are the words that come to mind. I'm not easily impressed, but their efforts were noticeable.

I absolutely love the W Hotel in Austin. It's unquestionably the nicest hotel in downtown. It's swanky, the service is great and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Couldn't recommend a hotel more. Also, they have a great gym and a sweet pool for daytime socializing.

The lobby of the W Austin is inviting and chic. They have a dessert called "drunken doughnuts" at the bar. They are delicious and the drinks are always good. I recommend booking a room in advance for vacation, events, etc...as they tend to fill up during special events.

I have had excellent stays here with the family. As a spg platinum I was treated very well with nice rooms and service while staying there. My most recent stay over Labor Day weekend the hotel was very busy with weddings and afternoon pool parties, but we still felt comfortable at the hotel with kids.

All the areas of the hotel are nice and comfortable. We enjoyed drinks in the lobby bar and there was regularly a DJ playing music. Also ate at the restaurant for breakfast, but also tried some of the nearby options. The gym was large and one of the better ones I have seen at a hotel gym. Plenty of free weights and cardio equipment available. Also many common crossfit type equipment.

The location of the hotel is convenient for downtown and the lake near by. All the attractions are near by by Uber or the many many e-scooters and bikes available.

This hotel has beautiful rooms and a fantastic gym. However, my overall experience was negative and I won't stay there again.

- I arrived at 8pm on my day of check-in to be told that my room was no longer available. I was compensated, provided with a room in a nearby hotel, and upgraded at the W for the remainder of my stay. What sticks with me is how several hotel staff remarked, "This has never happened before!" Of course it has, and it is condescending to pretend otherwise. When I brought up this concern in my complaint to the manager, it was not addressed. I was told that he was, "sorry for how I feel", which is an apology no-no.
- WiFi is listed as an amenity, which gives you the impression it is free. If you want WiFi, you have to pay upwards of $15/day, depending on the level of service you want.

It was a very nice hotel with a call and soothing atmosphere. I went for a wedding and everything was set up perfectly and employees were all around to help with anything we needed. The valet parking was extremely expensive in comparison to other places nearby.

We went there to attend an office party. The place was nice and kinda upscale but only thing I felt weird was that the party was scattered into different rooms. Probably because of the huge crowd.

Great hotel with a extremely comfortable rooms. The bar downstairs by the restaurant was pretty awesome and our bartender was extremely knowledgable and made us some pretty cool craft cocktails. Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a modern and chic hotel.

This hotel is clean and in a good location. First the good. Hotel has a nice pool and good food and a great location. Heres the bad, poor management decisions. The W here invites the general public in for all types of occasions. Todays occasion was Free Yoga and a Free Drink. While at the pool with our family the pool was taken over by a free yoga lesson and a free drink to the general public. No hotel guest were in attendance.

We were the only hotel guest at the pool. Yoga Instructors told us where we were allowed to be and where we couldn't be. Dont get me wrong I love hard bodies and yoga just as much as the next person but Don't be so hard up for new business by word of mouth that you give the amenities that others pay for for free to the general public its tacky. While we pay $15 for Drinks others are doing free Yoga and getting free drinks in front of us. Find a way to encourage your guest to use the pool. None of your Yogis hung out for the free drink they all bailed out. We just had to hang out and whisper for an hour during their free session.

Also they don't use fitted sheets on the bed and they made my bed with rollaway sheets and I woke up in the middle of the night with my sheets up around my knees and the middle of my back.

You can do better W get with it.
