I love stopping by the W hotel, for their trendy decor, always great staff and for the music and people I run into every time I go

W makes you forget you're in Austin. We went there for drinks, appetizer, dinner and was surprised. They did it! The drinks were unique and developed in house by seasoned bartenders. The food was prepared perfectly and showed that the chef was expanding their culinary expertise. And and ambiance was what made it the best. I felt relaxed, cool, out of the way of the normal Austin groove. I sat down thinking, this place is timeless.

For now I'll rate it okay, it's suppose to be one of the nicer hotels in downtown Austin. The last time I stayed here it was a giant mess, all sorts of stuff happened during the stay that made it very unpleasant. All the issues ranged from the front desk, the valet, the bellhop, and the concierge. It is disappointing being a Platinum member and the ball was dropped. Management said they would work on it... so we shall see I will be back soon and give an update on how service goes.

The rooms are nice, there is no door on the bathroom in the particular room I was so that could be awkward if you aren't comfortable with the person you are staying with. The amenities are decent. The restaurant Trace wasn't so stellar either, they too dropped the ball. The hotel is located in a nice part of downtown you can go anywhere you would like.
