Staff was amazing and the accommodations were real...
Staff was amazing and the accommodations were really nice. Thank you for making my 1st experience with the W a good one!
Staff was amazing and the accommodations were really nice. Thank you for making my 1st experience with the W a good one!
Rooms are very modern and chic, a very high end look. Amenities are great. My favorite thing is that every employee introduces themself by name and always asks how everything is, tells you their schedule and if you need anything, just ask for them etc. It's my first time here but definitely will not be my last, love it.
Pool is very nice, didn't stay but it seems like a good hotel
Hotel and rooms were nice, rate was reasonable, due to local events going on even cheap motels were almost as expensive. Totally worth the extra few bucks. Parking was expensive at $39 a night but that's expected downtown. Beware all the goodies in room as they all come with a hefty price tag.
Location was great, curb staff was good, lobby staff was less than stellar. Our "Cozy" room was a single Queen closet room. They did not bring up an extra air mattress and towels as we requested... Just felt unwanted and unwlecomed. Guess we, a median family of 5, didn't fit their clientele. Definitely won't be back.
The hotel is great overall. Nice room. Really fantastic hospitality. There were just two small nitpicks that feel inappropriate for a hotel at this price point and caliber. Specifically, the WiFi is not free (starts at $15/day), and the showerhead was kind of unpleasant (very high pressure and completely not adjustable in direction or pressure).
The rooms are very different from your typical hotel rooms. They make it feel more like an apartment than a hotel which makes it feel more home like. They provide great interest as well as a variety of amenities. Great downtown views as well! Would highly recommend
Great hotel, very friendly staff, very good restaurant and bar right at the hotel. The pool gets crowded fast and is a little small. It's just for getting wet. Tends to be a younger crowd .
Bar at the W is decent. Good mix of cocktails, reasonable though small beer collection.
Attended for a wedding. The event was well managed and the staff were extremely friendly with the exception of the valet. I wasn't aware that the lobby turned into a night club so that was disconcerting. If you leave early enough, you'll be fine.
As a local Austinite, I would recommend this place if 1) you have the budget to stay 2)You want to explore downtown Austin nightlife 3)Single or with your SO at the stay. The resturants and bar is not my favorite for it's price. They are "OK". However they back library bar is always a party on the weekend! There are plenty of options around the area including Taverna and Barchi.
Price too high for a room. Upgrade for a platinum member? No thanks! Vinyl on bed headboard all ripped up, outlets limited. Pool full of people, what pandemic? I will never stay here again. Very disappointed
Terrible place, they have roaches in the food and Nadine the food and beverage director is very rude to the customers.
Great place for happy hour...the inside and outside lounges are really relaxing! Highly reccommend the truffled popcorn.
Visited the W to attend a reunion for Red Fez. The event put on very well. There were many different sources of entertainment there. It was a great evening.
Amzing, beautiful hotel with spacious & modern rooms. They have the nicest gym I've ever seen in a hotel before - tons of brand new equipment (including 2 Peloton bikes)! Great location.
The best pool atmosphere I've EVER experienced! The live DJ and friendly a atmosphere makes this a great summer stop. You don't have to be a guest to enjoy the pool.
I know staying in town on a holiday is inherently risky, but don't rent your pool area out to a bunch of fratboys while making your actual paying guests take a back seat to the festivities.
Fantastic adventure here at W hotel. Have stayed here a few times for a mini-vacation away from home. Great customer service and a very cool bar downstairs. Rooms are very urban and upscale and include great views of the city. Located right in the heart of downtown so lots and lots of choices for places to eat, drink, and hangout. Also minutes away from the Texas Capital.
Attended an event - had a great experience, drinks were great, etc
Fabulous lunch at Trace, with perfect salmon, salad and a lovely iced tea. Incredible staff!
Fancy place, like all W hotels. Only two stars cause I asked for a wake up call but didn't get one. Thankfully I set a phone alarm too otherwise I'd miss my flight.
Nice hotel, great location. I was too busy with a work event to use the gym or spa services but my boyfriend raved about the gym. Staff was friendly.
The rooms are gorgeous with amazing views of downtown. The restaurants and lounges are amazing! There were issues with the glass balconies last year, but that has since been resolved. The pool area is awesome!
Location, gym = amazing. Wouldn't stay here again, management is to blame here - front line staff not trained on the basics.
In my 4 night stay:
*Housekeeping tried entering my room while I was showering (9pm)
*Day 1 keycard stopped working (went down to front desk), day 2 door wouldn't lock, so front desk asks me the guest to wait for lock smith
*Front desk messed up my bookings and ended up locking me out of my room
In total I had to spend 3 hours of my time waiting around, and in any 2 star hotel by comparison (not just a comparable Hotel) any of this would never be an issue.
What should have happened is a manager apology and refund on one of my nights.
Very clean, wonderful hotel that we refer everyone to. When they have events in the bar areas and living rooms, I love that they are overly staffed with security and personnel to watch every area. I always feel safe. Great rooms and pool area. It s shame most other Whotels we ve traveled to aren t lucky enough to have such a cool living room vibe like this one.
First time ever writing a hotel review. This hotel could not be less accommodating. The water isn't hot in the rooms and every sound from the street can be heard even as high as the 15th floor. I am usually a great fan of W hotels but will not be coming back here and would not recommend this hotel. Would recommend the austin Four Seasons over this hotel any day. Not impressed.
Modern, sleek, really comfortable rooms with great amenities and little extra details. Highly recommend a corner room with a view, the layout lends itself to a much nicer (and bigger) experience because of the hallway leading into it. Excellent coffee and bed + bedding was stylish, clean and to high standards. Appreciated the Bliss toiletries and plenty of closet space.
A bit dated, shower water pressure low , quite noisy too
The food and drinks for events are always top notch
Just spent 4 days at the W for the Dell World show. I must say I was impressed. The hotel is very nice and the staff was wonderful. Dora in the front helped us with everything we needed and made us feel welcome. It was like a home away from home. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Austin.
Only two stars because the service and attitude of the restaurant staff is absurd. However, I felt compelled to recommend Zane at Trace because he was phenomenal! When three different management members of the restaurant would not resolve my guests' and my concerns, Zane came to the rescue and diffused the situation with empathy and respect.
Thanks for saving the night!
Shower door has trouble opening/closing... But the hotel in general is real nice. Pool was fun!
Nice hotel, the club inside is very small but good musicand the bartenders are good.
I visited the hotel for brunch and the staff was super friendly and atmosphere was fun! Upscale place with a casual feel.
The check-in was good, with the clerks accommodating our request to change rooms in a very kind manner. We wanted our infant daughter to see the fireworks and the opportunity in the A/C without noise and they set us up with a room at the right angle (Note: The hotel rooms aren't terribly good for watching fireworks as the Northshore building blocks your view significantly). Also their bed was A +++++++.
The rooms are fine but I'd feel a little let down if we'd not paid a special rate they offered. The service is good but more than a little snooty. More Dallas than Austin for sure.
Funny anecdote that reflects this: I have low level status with SPG which normally gets me a free drink upon check in. Well here you get a guitar pick worth 15% off any of the bars or restaurants. LIttle underwhelming, but ok. Not gonna ruin my day.
We didn't use the coupon so upon checking out I asked the clerk "Can we use this 15% off in the future here?"
His answer verbatim: "They are meant for staying guests only so to use it then would be dishonest and would reflect upon you."
I kept a straight face but my wife couldn't hold back the giggles. For the record I think my conscious will prevent me from taking the W for all the deeply discounted $15.30 hamburgers I can carry.
Very nice lounge. You will feel very comfortable here.
I was only there setting up for an event but the experience was solid. Great atmosphere, polite staff, and the whole structure was quiet, even in busy areas.
Definitely a luxury experience, this was the first stop on the way to my honeymoon, and upon check in our room was upgraded for no additional charge. The customer service and concierge was excellent, the lounge area can be a bit noisy and crowded but that's to be expected. The location is excellent, quick access to anywhere downtown Austin.
Decent hotel, outdated bar. Bar has outdated terrible loud music..
Simply beautiful but was sad to see so many fellow people living homeless on the streets
Awesome spot to stay in Austin. They upgraded our room because they ran out of the type I had reserved. They even gave us free food and drink vouchers for the mix up.
Great location downtown, nice comfortable rooms, and also enjoyed the pool!
Attended the KGSR morning show. Excellent as always.
A no nonsense top tier hotel in the center of the city. Loved the room, the gym and the bar. Don't be fooled by the fake low key look of the reception.
The room was really nice and the front desk very courteous and helpful.
Very trendy. Very clean. Close to all the action. Friendly staff.
Awesome hotel! The pool deck is great in the summertime!
You can usually find me there on the weekends... great crowd, awesome drinks, hot bartenders.... good pick up spot, it you're into that. See you there... Oh and the drink prices are great.
This stylish, upscale, amenity-packed off-Congress hotel substitutes the long-time go-to expansive "in your face" lobbies and bars for a more twisty-turny experience that piques curiosity and makes you want to explore. In short, W Austin trades in showmanship for endless pleasant surprises. The spa, by the way, is stellar. As well, the pool area is seriously underused. Enjoy it; you'll probably have a good deal of privacy. Trace is wonderful although some menu changes disappointed me. All in all, W Austin is a wonder.
I'm not kidding when I say the staff at the W Austin were the nicest, most helpful, most accommodating people of any hotel I've ever stayed in... The room was so clean and SO nice (beds are A++).... the ONLY complaint I would have is the spa isn't ,or wasn't for the weekend I stayed, attended to often enough. There were dirty glasses everywhere , no hot water for tea and by the time I went to shower no razors left etc.. but aside from that , this was the best hotel experience I've had in a long time and plan to make the W my preferred hotel in any city.
Nice atmosphere. A little pricey but a nice place to start the night.
You couldn't ask for a better, more centralized spot in all of Austin to be, housed in the most beautiful building, eccentric yet simple interior design, THE friendliest staff and rooms that are unique and comfortable!
example: I was in the modd for some fruit so when i called room service, I asked what they had, he responded with, well what kind would you like. Moments later a gorgeous platter of all the fruit I had requested was on it in a stunning display!
Stay HERE if you're planning a trip to Austin, I implore you!
Great venue, great staff and beautiful art. I enjoyed the event I attended and how easy it was to park across the street and to find.
Super nice fancy place. I just came here for an event and it was great.
Service staff was very attentive and kept everything at clean as possible
Went for the lounge on a Friday night and while we did enjoy the time with friends, there was a little too much "club" atmosphere that night for us. The staff were fantastic and friendly.
Amazing place to host an event. Elegant and understated, fun times, good drinks and food.
The waitress in "the living room" was personable. However, parking three hours special for ACL evidently did not apply if stayed over the 3 hours. Charged hourly rate for entire time if stay 4 hours and was not willing to listen.
The hotel is nice, but nothing special.
The beds were way too soft, and I like a soft bed. While I was laying there I continued to sink into the bed and was basically laying in a hole.
I wish there were more food options on the room service menu.
Food is great. Located pretty central downtown. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants.
Our stay here was nice. The rooms had a nice layout and really clean. Unfortunately the bath tubs were poorly designed. Small and inconvenient to climb over them to get into the shower. The pool area was great in the evening with a DJ and live band. And at night the hotel has a somewhat sexy atmosphere to it. The gym is fantastic. Has all you need with a great view around Austin. Best part of the stay. Didn t use the spa facilities but they looked good. Would visit again but only recommend for one, max two nights stay.
W Austin is an extremely posh hotel. The concierge team is especially accommodating from the moment that you reach the main drive. 5 Star treatment!
