VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa Review

My family and I love Villa Sport! We always have a good time. Whether it s working out playing at Villa splash or just relaxing in the steam room, sauna or hot tub we can always find something for the whole family. My kids are becoming fans of villa kids. The staff in villa kids do a great job to make it fun so the kids do want to come back. I wish villa was more affordable but I guess that s the price you have to pay for a fancy health club. I have priced out other clubs and Villa is the most expensive. We stay members because we live so close and we really do love going.

I just wanted to say it should be less for kids and adults to bring in guests because its to much money and I think all you should do is not a waiver but ask the person who's bringing the guest if they know them and how a waiver is too much to ask. I also would like to say you have wonderful quality and should make sure people know you more.

Really nice staff and atmosphere, and they actually take care of it when people refuse to watch their children. The spa is lovely and my personal trainer. Daniel, is amazing!

Staff could care less about member care. We signed up and I cancelled after less than a week. I was kicked out of a workout class- was there on time but I got lost in the back looking for equipment and was so embarrassed after being dismissed in front of everyone. My baby sat in an exersaucer for almost 2 hours straight while the staff sat in a rocker on their phone. Kids staff was talking negatively about other moms in front of me. My 3 yr old also told me another kid smacked her in the face and she said she told a teacher and they did nothing, nor was I notified.

Very limited hours to swim with my infant in the therapy pool (4 days/wk for an average of 2 to 3 hrs) and during storms in the summer everyone is ushered in from the outdoor pools and crowds what little space you have. Patrons and their children leave used towels strewn in the locker rooms and on the bathroom floors in spite of the presence of multiple hampers. I need to arrive at least 45 min prior to a class or I am denied entrance to a full class (checking in children can take a while during the peak hours). Power outages to the treadmills and ellipticals several times--enough times to turn me off from starting a workout only to end it abruptly and without warning. I could overlook these problems if I didn't take me 45 minutes to get there, and if it was less than $130/month.

I was very disspointed with Villa kids area. They have teenagers taking care of infants and older employees watching the older kids. It really should be he other way around. When I picked my son up, his face was all red from crying the whole time. Their policy is to contact the parent if this happens, but they never call. They lost some of his belongings as well. On top of that they changed my sons diaper with out cleaning him at all. He still had poop all over his bottom from the old diaper. I was very upset since this was not the first time and voiced my concerns, but they dismissed me quite quickly. For the price of the membership its not worth it. You d expect they would keep there own standards. I cancelled my membership right after.

The gym has a great concept and it s never very busy when I go. But I never get to go often because every single time I ve dropped my kids off they become extremely sick after. They also managed to lose my sons really nice snow jacket and all the told me was to look in lost in found later. Yeah not like that was 100$ jacket that s just gone now. The childcare is completely messed up. They even tried to bring me the wrong child before.

Super nice mega-gym with 5 pools, having both indoor and outdoor areas for the kids and pools dedicated to laps and adults. They have classes for everything you could want, personal trainers are available, and even a grill and coffee shop can be utilized after a tough workout. The only downside is there is no child rate (my daughter is 6) for the gym even though they aren't allowed on most of the equipment. At 50 dollars for a day guest pass or 283 for membership + 60 for the first month you'll definitely lose weight in your wallet just for going in with a young swimmer. Children are obviously discouraged from attending this gym even though they have areas for them. Personally if they had a child rate for youngsters I'd be there every day teaching her to be a better swimmer and active kid away from devices and TV. Otherwise it's a great place for adults to get in their workouts, attend classes, and get instruction on how to use equipment, build strength, or just stay healthy.

Nice gym and facilities. There's a kid area and hot tubs are nice.

Love it! I have two kiddos and the indoor splash/ swimming area for the kids is amazing! Seriously amazing kids daycare, awesome summer camps, for me great variety of classes. I LOVE that the women's locker room does NOT allow kids so it is so peaceful! Private sauna, hot tub, & steam room, showers, and nice locker area for the women's locker room. I assume it's the same for the men. Great swimming lessons for my kids too. Spa is soooooo relaxing and reasonable prices with regular specials to take advantage of! Love!

The gym and the people that work there are all great. The facility is well taken care of and very well run. They lose a star because their corporate level people are terrible to work for and don't return calls or emails.

Took the kids to VillaKids for their first time. My oldest son, who has gone through daycare, preschool, and is in grade school came out asking to never go there again. "Mr. Seth" was "watching" him, talking to a girl about
very inappropriate things like a vampire killing 20 people. My child heard him say twice that he wishes he would get fired because he hates working with kids. He just sat there playing Xbox, not letting the kids have a turn, and chatting up a teen girl about how much he hates working with kids. I was pretty dumbfounded.

We called to talk to the supervisor and she said, while they have never had a complaint like that, they get a lot of complaints about inappropriate touching- hugging or putting kids in their laps. Big red flags. First impressions are everything, and I would not feel comfortable leaving my kids here. My youngest is the one who would be here the most, and as he is not talking, he can't advocate for himself or tell me anything about his time there.

Oh, and if you think they have pagers like they advertise on their website for parents, they DO NOT. They also don't have closed circuit recording to where you can watch your children from the cardio machines like the Y.

Cancelled our membership after 3 days. For the price, you should feel like your kids are in good hands. The gym was nice but I need the childcare son not worth it at all. We did discuss this with the lead supervisor over child watch before deciding if we would cancel. We didn't hear back from them, so have no idea how they handled it. They didn't make an effort to follow up.

It's big with plenty of workout equipment. The place is always clean.

Cruch Fitness (for $10 a month) has the same amount of weight equipment and it is all brand new. Not really sure what else extra $90 a month gets you here, other than an overpriced sugary smoothie.

You really only get to know the quality of a company after you are no longer "valuable" to them. We requested to cancel our membership over a month ago but were assured that we had until the 14th to cancel. Our visa was charged on the 1st and so we were a little flabbergasted. The day after this first charge, we requested a refund and explained that we were assured verbally that we could cancel before a certain date. After being referred to a slew of different numbers and "higher-ups" the cancellation and refund was rejected TWO WEEKS later. Seeing that we have not been to VillaSport in over a month, we just want our money back. This is a completely unprofessional business and their customer service is a joke. I want my money back.

Do not take your kids here or yourself for that matter. Huge criminal Cover up!! Read the news. Is this the place you wanna go too? The company hasnt even released a statement to they re members. Sick, sick place!

I ve never been to a place that s so nice and kid friendly at the same time! We absolutely love everything about Villa especially the Red Frog swim instructor. She s incredible with my son. Villa Kids has wonderful staff. I love how I can get a nice workout and not have to worry about my children because the staff at Villa Kids takes great care of them.

I am pretty disturbed about the news report from KKTV that has come out regarding the allegations of inappropriate misconduct against two minor children and a former employee, while under his care in the activities center. What s additionally disgusting about this entire situation is Villa s lack of communication to the public and their direct lack of communication via email notification to their current members. Continued silence does not make the problem go away nor does it make your gym look any better.

Child care is great, the instructors are very good with my kids. The trainers are knowledgeable. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

Customer Service lacking. Particularly when the cost of membership is factored in....

Upscale fitness club. Usually very manageable crowds during off peak times. Amenities are worth the price of membership.

Amazing amenities at a premium price but more than work it. An app would be nice like some of the less high end gyms use.

Signed my child up for swimming classes then needed to reschedule due to illness. My wife and I called their Aquatics Dept and left messages several times over two days, but no one could be bothered to call us back. They do not value their paying clients time at all. Update: Someone finally called me 8 minutes before the class would start and left me a canned response of no refunds, can't do anything to help. I am seriously considering canceling my entire membership over this idiocy. There was no acknowledgement on how long they took to respond or the extenuating circumstances. If this is how they treat my time, I don't want to know how they'd treat my child.

So the overall gym is ok. Class sizes are to big for the rooms that they have. They talk a good game but once you see the gym over several months its appearant that the bottom dollar is the only thing that matters. They say they limit class sizes but watch the actual classes and you'll see that they do not cut off entry at any point nor do the keep class sizes at a reasonable level. You can't use their facilities until they get paid for the month in advance but they get to charge you for an extra month after you terminate services. They make the process as difficult as possible so that they ensure you have to pay for that extra month. If you want to terminate services they tell you that you have to go in to the gym in person to fill out the form, so now, in case your life wasn't busy enough you have to find the time to go in. To clearify, if I pay my membership on the 2nd of June but cancel on the 18th of June they charge your card for July as well. They don't tell you that you can email the form or fax it and they don't make any attempt to assist you through the process. It took several hours searching their website to find the form (I ended up putting "VillaSport Termination Form" into google because their website is not set up to help you find it) and where to send it in to. Their pools are overcrowded and their staff is more worried about flirting with each other then taking care of any guests. I love Colorado Springs and plan on moving back but I will be finding another gym and hope that this review will help save you a little frustration.

I love my membership here and I especially love the daycare staff! They know me and my kids by name and my boys always have a blast.

Great gym, with friendly staff,lots of classes to pick from.Fun place to be in Summer , has great pools and a great adult pool with a nice bar.

Great facilities with amazing staff. I go every week and some greet me by name. So much classes to choose from and it seems that they change out most if not all the machines at the start of the year. Spa is like the cherry on top. I feel very spoiled in this place. Me and my family have been members for 2 1/2 years.

Seriously.....massive public outcry with your handling of a "potential sexual assault" and barely a Facebook post followed by an email....6 MONTHS later. You are in the wrong for keeping this info from parents!!! FIX THIS NOW!!! Reach out, Accept, apply new principles!!!!! GO!!!

Fantastic gym. Love the amenities. However, lacking in the calisthenic department.

Went in today to start my membership and was greeted by a excellent employee Katie! She showed us around and was the best. She told us about everything and made us comfortable.

VillaSport is a family friendly club. I've found the entire facility to be clean, well kept, and free of unwanted odors. I routinely swim laps in the lap swim pool, visit the indoor water park with the kids, and utilize the gym equipment and find all to be quite enjoyable. While I don't often visit the Cafe, each time I have the food has been tasty. All and all, a good place to workout and relax.

Best gym and locker room amenities in town, but prices keep going up as does the number of members. Will be canceling our membership.

Great gym, childcare is fantastic, everything is clean and organized. There are so many options, not just with classes and workout equipment but with the spa, hot tub, sauna, etc.

I love this place! It makes me feel like I'm on vacation. The free weights area could be a little bigger but over all they've got some decent equipment. I was happy when they reopened since it had been about 4 months since I had a good work out aside from my quarantine cardio sessions. I'm also glad the staff started politley asking people to wear masks. It was sort of like the wild west in there when they first opened lol.

Decent health club. Been trying to cancel my membership for 7 months, now they are telling me that I have to fly from Florida to Colorado to cancel. If I can't find my cancelation order.

I've never tried to quit this gym yet, so I can't speak to the other reviews, but if you have a family, this gym is the best in the area, hands down. The child care team is fabulous, the special events and pool add to the quality. The weight facility and courts are smaller than others in the area, but usually aren't crowded unless you go right after new years or on "free guest" day (it sucks then). The rest of the staff is friendly and helpful also with whatever you need.

A great athletic facility, especially for parents with young children. VillaKids is amazing child care. All of the staff are super.

The pools are always so full. I hate it. I cancelled because when the price for 1 person went above 100 a month and 400 to start I wasnt interested. Too pricey. facilities are usually clean and dont smell like sweat.

I joined a few days ago and have already taken 4 group fitness classes. Every instructor has been excellent and the classes have all been awesome! I love the variety they offer. I m excited to come back every day. I really wish they offered more classes in the 6 or 7am hours. 5:30 is crazy early for me but an 8:45 class time is way too late. If they offered some classes at this times, this place would be perfect!

I LOVE this gym. All the classes and pool time is worth it.

I've been a member for three years, and there is good reason why I keep going back! Great workout facility with everything you can ask for. The only time of year I have a hard time getting a machine or workout area is during the month of Jan, when all the New Years' resolutions get made. :)
I also love the events the gym hosts (like wine tasting and ski expo). I also enjoy the gym competitions, like bench pressing, push ups, and squats (gives you something to aim for in your workouts for a bit).
The staff is very friendly, and I often chat with one or two member before, during, or after my workout. The only areas I don't know how to rate, because I don't use them, are the group classes and pools.

After my workout, the locker room, whirlpool, or sauna are always relaxing for me.

The spa is also worth mentioning-- not only is it convenient because it's in the same facility, but it truly is the best in the Springs (I've visited a few others outside of Villa because I had a coupon, or was given a gift card).

I ve been a member of Villa Sport for 3 months and love this club. It s clean and the staff is always friendly. Plenty of machines to choose from even when busy. Best pools in town from swimming laps to relaxing in the hot tubs. Plenty of classes and events. I ve met some great members and even some on my neighbors. Pretty sure I ll be with Villa for many years to come as I find it a great value and love the way I feel!
Looking forward to trying out my new body this ski season!!!

Pricey but worth it if you can afford. Wife loves the classes. 2.5 hours of daycare. Nice facilities. Great pools. Indoor and outdoor kid pools.

The gym could be better. I feel like there are alot of equipment options they don't have compared to Lifetime. Still it's kid friendly

We've been members for years. Kids love all the pools and slides. The equipment is up to date and maintained well. Villa Kids is AMAZING.

The gym itself is very nice, staff has been very kind. We have enjoyed it , outside of my experience dealing with booking my kids. I set my alarm everyday to 5 am so I can book my toddler because the slots fill up so fast. Well now the app isn t letting me book. Kim has been helpful, but it s been days and the issue is still not fixed. She informed me that IT knew what the issue was but for whatever reason they aren t fixing it. So I am a little frustrated that we are paying 200$ a month for a gym that requires reservations and I am doing my part to
Comply , but the tech team won t do their part to make sure I can even reserve. I can t go without childcare so, how long do I just keep calling and calling before someone fixes it ? I even asked if I could give my schedule in advance to be put in manually? I feel bad having to constantly contact Kim , when she isn t the one who fixes the glitches. It s hard enough to get a slot and as a working mom of 3 and military spouse I need somewhere reliable and dependable with scheduling. I love the gym. Just super disappointed In the lack of fixing something I was told knew how to be fixed. Really hoping this gets fixed so I don t have to find a different gym with reliable childcare procedures

Best gym I've been a part of. They have everything there. No more going home if I forgot something. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable And friendly. Had a Couple times I had my own issue and staff responded immediately and with such kindness. If you want a gym that is family friendly. Has everything you need , including Multiple activities beyond physical, etc. this is the place! Also their cafe...... to die for! More healthy choices for meals, snacks , beverages, etc than any I ve seen. I feel like I have whole-foods like buffet at my fingertips!

Love the incredible childcare program and the classes. The spa is overpriced but they give away gift cards from time to time. My kids love the pools and we all enjoy the cafe!

The staff is friendly, the equipment is clean, and they have all the amenities needed so all you need is your workout clothes and a swimsuit. Everything else is provided. Great atmosphere to workout and also get a chance to relax.

Amazing facility!! Beautiful, really well maintained, family friendly. Lots of great events, pools are phenomenal, the group fitness classes are the best in town. The staff is friendly and works really hard to support and serve the members.

Excellent kids classes and group exercise classes. Great set up with a family dressing room area and great swim lessons offered as well. We love it!

Great lifting/cardio facilities. The winter kid's pool times are pretty inconvenient, but our older two kids loved it here. However , my infant was poorly mistreated on the days the cameras happened to "not be working" and no one came to get myself or my husband, even though they knew where to find us.. Last time my exclusively breastfed, cloth diapered infant came home in a diaper we didn't provide and a bottle full of formula? The facility is easily geared toward anyone without kids. Never leaving my children hwre again..

So many great things to say about Villa!! Great kids watch. Amazing trainers. Many, many classes to choose from. Small group training is my new favorite way to train. Love the locker rooms with the sauna, steam room, and hot tubs. The pools, both indoor and outdoor, are lots of fun and always kept clean. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. Their events and activities are a great way to meet people.

Upscale Athletic Club with every amenity & a variety of classes.

I feel like I am visiting a resort every time I go! Way worth the time effort and energy to feel like I m on vacation at home.

We've been members of Villa for 8 years. We decided to give Lifetime a try because our older children's friends are members. We immediately went back to Villa. Villakids is infinitely better (especially for younger kids). Villa's pools (indoor and outdoor) and locker rooms are superior. There are also more classes at Villa (at more convenient times) and they're less crowded. We had a difficult time finding a parking spot at Lifetime, and while Villa feels family oriented and friendly, Lifetime feels impersonal and "salesy" (they're constantly trying to sell you personal training, supplements, or something). It's a great club that has a luxury feel, is less crowded, and has a great staff.

Clean, well equipped, great staff, individual and family locker rooms, but the best part is Villa Kids. This is the best investment a family of four can make to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.

We've been enjoying primarily the pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas for the past several years - we've not utilized other areas of the facility. The staff members are typically friendly and helpful - particularly Wendel, Judi, and Grant.

Sometimes the young lifeguards get a bit full of themselves and rather than nicely requesting something they will abruptly tell you what needs to be done should you or a family member be temporarily out of policy.
That's annoying since they wouldn't be there if paying customers weren't members so a more customer-appreciative approach would be my recommendation (although as I'm writing this I'm thinking they have to put up with their fair share of jerks in the public).

The facility has always been clean and orderly. Towels are thicker and better quality than other clubs we've been to. Soap, shampoo, conditioners have a nice tropical/coconut scent which we've found to be refreshing. Food and beverages are tasty but very pricey. Few if any organic options available.

4 stars given rather than 5 due to the overcrowding we've noticed the past two years. Happy Villa is doing good business and popular but not pleased with the crowds. If you go later in the evening (after 6pm) you're more likely to have fewer people and sometimes an area (i.e. hot tub, pool, steam room) to yourself. At this point I am sure Villa Sport could open a second or even third facility (south Colorado Springs and north Colorado Springs) and have no issues maintaining membership levels to deliver an ROI. Mgmt needs to give that serious consideration or long-term members such as me and my family will terminate membership.

Villa Sport certainly sets itself a part from other facilities in my opinion which is why we've been members for so long. It really is a step up from other competitive offerings.

Final thought: it would be nice if Villa Sport offered pool-only memberships for families like us that never use other areas of the facilities so we could have a discounted rate. $177/mo is steep if you're not making use of the full facility.

Great gym, all around exercise opportunities. Plenty of classes included in membership, swim area is the best.

I m not one to complain in fact this is the first time I am leaving a review.
Our recent experience at villa has been really disappointing overall. We have been loyal members of Villa since 2011 and have never had a complaint till recently. It has been frustrating to deal with poor management of the VillaKids, along with the experience over all as members. We have a family of 7 so we typically utilize Villa as a way to spend quality time as a whole. It has been extremely difficult to get our kids in daycare even if we have a class scheduled it is always booked regardless if we try to book in advance. We ve attempted several times to communicate our issues with the front desk because we are regulars but the front desk associates seemed to not care or take note. Asking to speak to a manager is almost impossible. So after several failed attempts in trying to resolve some of these issues, we chose to end our long term relationship with Villa. We would be happy to come back if we are allowed to book our kids during 1-3pm but unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

Always clean, always beautiful. I have been a member here since 2012. Absolutely LOVE the pool!! I LOVE the locker rooms! These guys thought of everything when they built this gym. It is outstanding. I have been a member of other gyms in years past, but this one is definitely my favorite!

I mean they are very age oriented but they have fun things you can do within the community

I went here for my first time expecting somewhat of an average spa experience, but received a lot more than that. I was very impressed with how friendly and out going Kristy was. Kristy seems to run make sure that things run really smoothly at the Spa.
Monica was my Esthetician. She was very personable yet professional. She gave me exactly the relaxing experience that I needed.
On my way out, I bought a gift card for my own Mother to receive the same treatment. I will be back as well! Thanks ladies.
