I had wanted to rent this home and it finally worked out. The location is great and the floor plan is perfect. However, the home was not clean. When we pulled the sofa cushions back they were full of dog hair. My dogs came home with some fleas. The floors were not clean either. We spilled something on the floor and when we mopped it up is when we found out they all needed mopping. Some of the screens on the porches were missing. They were there, but had not been put back in. The downstairs bathroom next to the kitchen was full of black mold, so we avoided using that. This is a beautiful home, but it needs some maintenance and cleaning.

I have leased various properties from VROBX for the past 6 summers or so, and have never been disappointed. Our recent stay in Corolla was as good as any. The house was ready early (unfortunately the traffic was not!) , and we enjoyed a great time. Their mobile app is very helpful with information and reporting any maintenance issues. An issue with the pool was responded to within minutes. A great company that is easy to work with, we will continue to lease exclusively through them for years to come!

You re endangering the lives of those you re claiming to help. Guess what? Good luck deleting this one. If I could give you zero stars, I would.

We have enjoyed the Outer Banks semi-annually for the last 20 years. This year was a completely different experience.
We rented Duneridge Estates 10 the week of July 14 with several accomplished cooks looking forward to one-upping each other in the beautiful spacious kitchen (great pictures on VR website). Before we checked in, we were informed that the refrigerator was not working and they would repair it Monday or Tuesday. We were given a temporary refrigerator on a lower level, which did not stay closed, so we had to throw out food. They repaired the kitchen refrig on Wednesday and we filled it with food (as directed by the repairman). Thursday morning we woke up to both the kitchen refrig and the temporary refrig were recording temperatures of 58-61 degrees. Again we had to throw out more food.
The gas stove had a burner that would turn on but would not light. The oven would not light, so we were without one for the week. Kitchen appliances are basic enemities that we expect to have as renters, but instead were major safety risks.
There were servicemen at the house 4 days out of 7, and someone stayed back in the house to answer their questions and remain there while they were in our house.
Had we known the major appliances in this house were almost 20 years old (the parade of repairmen were friendly) we would have looked for a different house.
We did receive partial compensation for our loss. The inconvenience and frustration were far and above what we were offered. The staff of a Village Realty tried to make things better, but in the end they represent the interest of the homeowner, not the renters, and that became obvious. It would take a lot for us to consider using Village Realty in the future.

Village Realty was recommended by a friend. We still did research on other companies. For two years we have used VR and we have been pleased. When we call the CSRs are friendly and courteous. They are helpful and not pushy on the phone. This year we a slight hic-up with our reservation (our error) VR quickly helped us resolve the issue. Upon arrival, we felt welcomed! We also feel that our suggestions are truly respected and will be shared. We have recommended them to our friends and hopefully we will be able to come back to the Outer Banks and world with Village Realty again.

We had a wonderful week the last week in June. Village Realty has a great check in system where they just give you a code to get into your house so you do not have to go by the office. When you check out you just put in the code that they give you to check out. It is so simple and saves so much time. The house was clean and well maintained. I will use Village Realty again!

Loved it there! Everything was excellent except they only gave us 1 set of towels per person for the week and they failed to notify us to let us know the first floor air unit was broke, however they did put in 2 window units but it would have been nice if they let us know. It got hot in there during the day, and it made it uncomfortable for my elderly parents. Over all it was a great time!

One of the bathrooms in the condo had mold/mildew up and down the walls. We called and somebody came to look at it. Then they said they would get back to us. 3 days later we called back and asked for a discount (since we had paid for 3 bathrooms, not 2), and only then did somebody come and use mold remover to fix the problem.

My family recently spent a week in South Nags Head at a Village Realty property. We have rented from many other realty companies on the beach, and we were most impressed with this home! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived, and the company responded immediately when we had a minor problem!! Thanks Village Realty! We'll be back!!

The particular house we rented was terrible. While the realty company (Everett in particular) was responsive to our complaints, this house is not in rentable or even safe condition. Below are the issues we encountered and the response from village realty:

1. Intense vomit smell in carpet - requested and received carpet and upholstery cleaning which helped but still left some odor (not pleasant for a week of vacation)

2. Multiple doors to the exterior would either not lock or not open creating a safety and fire hazard - maintenance team came out and fixed appropriately

3. Multiple windows were broken and would not close leaving the upstairs floor very hot -maintenance team came out and fixed most but not all windows.

4. Trash was overflowing, old dirty towels and clothes left in the house from previous renter - housekeeping came and took care of this but it should have all been clean and done prior to us getting into the house

There were also holes punched (large fist sized) in one of the bedroom room walls. The outdoor steps are rotting. We found two cockroaches on our last day.

Overall, this house is not well kept and is in need of major repairs and certainly a very deep cleaning. The location was nice and the reality company was responsive and kind. They did offer us a gift card to a local restaurant for our troubles but we really should have had a portion of our money returned to us. The house was in in awful condition and it took away from our time (on the phone with village reality) and money (buying air fresheners). Village realty should not list this house if the owners are not willing to care for it. This house is not at all what we paid for. I did ask to be moved to another house which I understand may not have been possible but therefore I should have been given money back in return. This house is disgusting and village realty should hold a higher standard for their owners as well as the people the rent it to.

There were ants in our rental and Village Reality sent someone out very quickly. That earned them the second star rating. We searched for our property with a wifi and pool filter added. We had 4 children staying in the home one of which has autism. He likes to unwind by watching YouTube kids videos. This was almost near impossible and we dealt with screaming because the wifi would go in and out as well as just not work. The man they sent out to fix it was very nice. It was working when he arrived so it was hard for him to see a problem with it. I suggest a different Internet service with a stronger speed. We spent approximately 4/7 days without wifi. All in all the property we rented was very nice and we suggest the owners find a new realty company.

I attempted to book this company on Airb&b and my guest and I had to wait two weeks before check-in to have the reservation approved. After using the instant book filter option, this was inexcusable. Very disappointed and definitely a waste of time. Unhappy customer.

We had a wonderful time at Nags Head this year. The beach house was beautiful, very clean and well organized. The Village Pool area was very well maintained and we loved riding over with "Big Daddy" (a wonderful person to chat with)!
We cannot say enough about our "experience" except to say that we will be renting from you next year and are recommending you to friends who are interested in vacationing at OBX.
Keep up the good work, we know this has to be a team effort!

My family recently rented a vacation home in Nags Head through Village Realty. The property was exactly as described and well-maintained. We bumped into a pretty minor issue with the grill on arrival Saturday. I emailed Village Realty Saturday night and had a response from Genie within minutes of their offices opening Sunday morning. The issue was entirely resolved later that morning without any issue or hassle and we enjoyed the rest of our trip.

My family and I made reservations with Village early in the year before COVID19 landed in our country and began to cause so much destruction. My wife works in a dental office which was closed quickly due to health safety concerns. I am self employed and my business came to a complete stop shortly after everything was shut down. Of course like everyone else in the country out of work we quickly began to think of ways to conserve costs so we could pay our mortgage and other essential costs like how to put food on the table for our 3 children. This is when my wife contacted Village to try to get a refund as it was several thousand dollars and would have helped us pay bills for several months. She called me crying a few minutes later. She was told that they understood our situation but would not issue a refund because we didn t purchase the insurance. Later that day I called and asked to speak with the owner, feeling devastated and in disbelief that during this global health and financial crisis this company wouldn t give us a refund so we could pay our mortgage due to a company policy . I spoke to Vice President Maggie Sexton and afternoon several emails between us her answer is the same you don t have the insurance and our policy is no refunds!! All this in spite of the fact that we are still out of work and can barley pay our bills much less go on vacation. We live in Virginia and our Governor has our state under a stay at home order until June 10 and our reservations are the week before that. Her response is if our bridges are open you will not receive a refund company policy sorry . This is an unbelievable display of greed, heartlessness and not to mention terrible customer service. This is no way to treat our fellow man during this crisis and a despicable way to run a business!!

We rented A Dolphins Cove at Corolla, NC. OMG. The disrepair & lack of cleanliness was appalling. ESPECIALLY during this Covid time. There was a door off the hinge!?! Fuzzy air ducks, malfunctioning stove & toaster. I could go on and on. I would not recommend this agency. What is their benchmark to rent a unit? I would not rent from them again.

There were multiple broken appliances at the beach rental property and company internal vendor communication failures which this company is happy to bore you with and waste your precious vacation time in lieu of making timely repairs or offering amends or solutions. We have enjoyed many successful rentals with Southern Shores and Stan White. Save your vacation with a better company.

Here it is 8 PM on our check in day and we still have NO LINENS for our $8000 a week rental! One accuse after another for why they are not here. The new appliances and counter tops are very nice, but some LINENS would be nice, as well. This is our 14th year in the same house. We love the house and location, but service is shoddy. Pick up the game, folks.

Village Realty is the best place to go to find the perfect vacation house on the Outer Banks! Par Excellence is by-far the best house we rented in the last 27 years of visiting OBX. We cannot wait to return to this house. Thank you to the Village Realty staff for getting our beautiful vacation started and making it so easy. My family and I have been coming to the outer banks for 10+ years and we all agreed this house was the BEST we ve ever stayed in! (Dolphin Run 31) The kitchen was spectacular all the appliances were new and updated I loved the fact there was a coffee pot as well as the Keurig for when we just wanted a cup of coffee late in the afternoon. We did not have kids with us but the house was extremely kid friendly with the crib, baby gates, high chair, and lots of games for the young ones as well as adults. The televisions were amazing all of them smart TV and to top it off the WiFi was spectacular! (Good for the gaming lovers) The location was great as well a quick 2 minute walk to the beach was nice and having groceries stores and shopping center near by as well. We will definitely be booking this house again 10/10 would recommend!

We are very pleased with the service from Village Realty. After another agent told us "good luck, no rental units will accept a cat" they found the perfect place for us. Dolphin Run 31 is beautifully maintained, well equipped and very conveniently located. Spacious rooms and large balconies front and back. Noise from the Croatan Hwy is the only drawback.

Pros: House is a good size with plenty of bedroom...

Pros: House is a good size with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Game room is awesome. The pac man arcade machine was a big hit. The gazebo was by far the feature of the house. It is located on top of the dunes between the house and the beach. It provided a breezy retreat from the sun, while still being able to see the ocean.

Cons: The house needs updating with regards to the living room couch. This was very stained; so stained in fact we used bedspreads from beds we were not using to cover it so we could sit on it. While I know a vacation kitchen cannot be stocked like home one should be able to expect enough flatware for everyone as well as pots and pans that are not so scratched that the non stick coating is flaking off. Ironically, there were three colanders and not a casserole dish to be found. Last but not least is the overgrown shrubbery. The plants have grown up between the steps making it a hazard. The house is dog friendly and you have to take them all the way to the street because of the overgrowth in the yard.

Final thoughts: The house is in a good location and it has some great features. If these items in the con list were addressed we would give this house another chance.

Great customer service with booking the rental home in Nags Head. House was mostly great. Had a few issues but nothing major. Response from office was inconsistent and because the house was in the process of being sold, i think that affected how they responded to things. But great location and great vacation!

Overall, we were happy with our stay and the location and beach were perfect. However, the condo isn't in great shape and needs some updating. It also wasn't as clean as I would like, with dust on nearly every surface and piles of sand on the stairs. There was also mold on the shower and on the air vents. I sent a message and the response was super fast though so that was great. I wish there were more towels provided and if you are a cook, the kitchen is a bit annoying bc it isn't as well stocked as other rental places I've stayed. There is also no counter space and it is pretty outdated. The bathrooms are really nice though. The beds were comfy but the comforter in the master desperately needs updating. The pool is nice and super clean. The other guests were very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them and it is so so quiet and relaxing there, except for the air conditioning unit which is crazy loud. We kept the fan on so the loud clunking of it turning on and off didn't wake us. I wish there was nicer patio furniture or at least an umbrella.

Found house with gps . House was exquisitely decorated. I did not find a rental package upon arrival. All my instructions were electronically sent to my tablet which I did not bring. House was clean. I would have liked a couple of dish towels. Our trash can and recycle bin were not on property. Had to leave my trash in family beach room on ground floor. Calls to the office were not returned. Internet and tv were sketchy,but that was an area problem. Over all I was very pleased with the property, it's furnishings. Did find a mouldy couch pillow. Furniture could stand a deep steam cleaning. I would rent this house again.

They have always been quick to resolve any issues we have had and they have all been for the most part minimal. We have in the past used other companies but none were as well organized, reliable and forthright. Village Realty is our absolute go to for a home rental.

Most of the houses we have rented through Village Realty have been wonderful, but the last one, which was actually in the Village of Nags Head was pretty awful. The pictures were VERY different from what we actually got. The must have been taken 15 years ago. Also, it would have been nice to know that the house was in a FLOOD ZONE. We had no driveway all week because the pond overflowed in the back. By the end of the week, there was actually pond scum on the top. So disappointing. I will say that the company tried to clean and steam the carpet for us, which I appreciated, but we totally got hoodwinked here. You might want to check the date of the pics they have posted.

Made my 3 kids and wife wait when we were told to be there at 4. We arrived at 3:50pm noticed 3 vehicles in driveway apparently cleaning crew and still at 415 trying to get in. I spent $1500 for a 7 day rental and have been driving for 6 hrs with 3 screaming kids. Why can't anyone tell me that before I get there that we would not be able to check in at 4. So I call management and they said there is nothing we can do. Wow no apology. Basically deal with it. Don't waste your time renting from this place, there best interest is does not seem to be us,thanks for the headache. It's now 4:45 and they just now left.

Had issues with the condo rented. See list below. Their response is attached to each.
1. Ceiling fans were dirty some of the ceiling fans were blowing upward. Therefore, we needed to get up on a chair to change the setting. The dust on the ceiling fans looked as though they were not cleaned for months!
Ceiling fans are something that gets cleaned before season during the deep clean, and mid-season if there is a mini deep clean.

2. The living area ceiling fan was VERY noisy while running.
Our tech that was out there said it was squeaking when on medium or high, we called a vendor to check the fan.

3. Shower liners in both bathrooms are very dirty.
4. Shower curtain in small bathroom was dirty.
Please know that in the future, give us a call and we will come out and replace those items for you if we missed them in cleaning

5. Wheel on beach cart ready to fall off therefore, we were unable to take the cart to the beach concerned that the wheel may fall off on the way down to the beach.
6. Beach chairs are very rusty and had cob webs on them. We did use them since we didnt bring ones of our own.
The beach cart was fine just the wheel covering (Hub Cap) was missing and had to be put back on but the wheel was secure
The chairs were full of sand but after rinsed off they were fine. They do get full of sand and do rust very quickly because of the salt in the air.

7. We were told that the condo provided a washer/dryer. We were ready to do some laundry when we opened up the washer and it was VERY dirty. Therefore, we were unable to wash any clothes! My husband did not pack enough for the entire week because he planned on washing some of his clothes at the condo.
According to our tech who went to the house to check the washer said it was working just fine, and that the set appeared to be almost new and was not dirty.

8. The deck railing was not attached to the condoit moved when we leaned on it. Very unsafe and could be considered a building code hazard.
Out tech said he did in fact have to tighten one of the rails and it is secure now. Thank you for bringing that to our attention

9. People upstairs were VERY loud. I now see that most of the reviews online indicate that this is and has been an issue. I get that this may be something that the owner nor the realty company can prevent. But, when you take a vacation, our expectation is to be able to sleep in beyond 5:00 a.m. Very disrespectful neighbors!
I agree, in the future, please let us know we are always happy ask them to please keep it down.

10. There was a spot on the couch that was very noticeable.
If the upholstery is stained, we can always send someone to clean it. Again, in the future please let us know.

11. Light above the stove does not work.
This was replaced just after your departure

12. Small toilet needs flushed a couple times for the water/waste to go down.
Our tech said all toilets were flushing properly, Tech did not find any toilet clogged issues, or slow drainage.

13. TV in bunk bed area was frozen. I needed to send an email to the Realty company to have it fixed. I know that this can occur anywhere. But, the issues just seemed to keep piling up.
The box just needed to be reset, it took just a few moments.

14. Toilet seats are dirty and need replaced.
Our tech did not find any toilet seats that needed replacement, he did tighten one of the seats

15. The door to the area where the air conditioner/furnace is very dirty.
I did not get a report back on this one!

16. Some electrical wall sockets were loose.

The Sand Pebble was fantastic. Everything was as advertised. The house was beautiful, well maintained and spotless. The location couldn't be better and we plan on spending more time at OBX!

This is our third year staying at Crystal Shores. The unit is very nice and the location cannot be better. The first year we stayed at the unit with absolutely perfect.

Last year when we arrived we didn t have our linens which started our vacation off very rocky. I have two small children and the email I received said that we would get our linens before the end of the night but did not include an ETA so by 8 o clock at night when I still hadn t received them I went and bought my own to put the kids to bed. Village Realty made that situation right eventually and fully refunded the cost of the linens, the housekeeping package, and bought us dinner. We were a little apprehensive about spending the money on this condo again but hoped if something happened village reality would make the situation right since they came through in the end last year.

This year when we arrived the elevator was not working. This made arrival extremely difficult due to my three previous knee surgeries and the fact that I could not help my husband unload the car with all of our belongings. The elevator was out due to a lightning strike that also took out our Internet and our cable for the first 3 1/2 days of our stay. I was trying to be patient but it s hard when walking up the steps is very painful. With small children constantly wanting to go to the beach and then having to go potty or forgetting goggles or something and then up for lunch and back down and then out for ice cream we were going up and down the steps constantly. Village Realty didn t accepted any responsibility for what was happening or the fact that we were not notified prior to arrival. They said the unit did not tell them that the elevator was out. I don t know where the breakdown of communication was but when we arrived there was a note on the elevator saying we are aware of the problem and are currently working on it, so obviously someone was aware of the issue. If this had been told to us prior to our arrival we could ve made the decision about whether we still wanted to go down for vacation. We had travel insurance and this was a medical necessity for me.

Village did eventually credit us back an amount which was about the same as the linen inconvenience that only really lasted a day. This was an inconvenience that lasted the entire week and caused physical pain to me every moment that I was walking up the steps. The loss of an elevator should been in a different category since it s a medical necessity and considering we pay a premium for all the amenities listed on the condo. Oh the up side the condo was clean and the linens were there when we arrived this year.

It s hard for me to say definitively whether we will go back to Crystal Shores. The condo is perfect in every way but it makes me concerned the village really wasn t willing to work with me. There were other units that used a different reality company and they said their company was trying to get them significantly more than what we were offered in compensation. Just something to consider when we are booking next year. It s really disappointing because we love the unit that we stay in but I may have to shop around and see what else is available through a different reality company. It s a shame because we go down every year and I thought that we had finally found the perfect condo for our family.

Village reality. I saw your response and I appreciated talking to Everett and he did make every effort to help us but it was after the fact and we never actually had someone come and help us with the luggage because we had already brought everything up by the time we had talked to him. But he did make the offer for the groceries but unfortunately we had most of those already by that time as well.

I have dealt with Village Realty on vacations that have been completely drama-free and vacations with rebooking, Internet interruptions, and travel delays.

It is easy to find a realty company that you want to work with when everything goes smoothly. When you vacation and travel start to go bad, or if there is a problem in the house, that is where you determine the quality of the company.

Village Realty is high quality company. I am happy to recommend them. We have rented a house in OBX every year for twenty years. We *always* search Village Realty first.

This particular condo was poorly equipped. I had to run out to buy a scissor because there wasn't one. I also had to buy my own spatula. It seemed like a lot was missing from the kitchen area.

When we arrived the condo was a little dirty. The kids were complaining about dirt on their feet so I swept the floor - only to find it was filthy with crumbs, sand and even find someones nasty toenail clipping. I was not happy!!!

We have been renting from you for a while now - sometimes twice a year and by far this was the worse rental we ever had. We were not happy but made the best of it.

Village Realty was OK enough. Really just mediocre. Our house, Reminiscent, I wouldn't recommend renting. The downstairs master bedroom's mattress is in horrible shape. The pull out sofa in the den has a horrible mattress. The ice maker hardly made any ice at all. We came expecting a propane grill & it was charcoal. I have been going here since I was a kid and now share new memories with my husband and kids. Houses are always so bright and inviting. The neighborhood is so family friendly and the clubhouse is a great way to spend your day at the beach and the pool. We look forward to our trips every year!

We rented a large house 9/1-9/8 from Village Realty. The house was clean and well taken care of for us. Village realty responded very quickly to any maintenance issues we had. We had a great time and will not hesitate to rent from them again.

the house was a great price and in a great location. The reason and issue we had was more to do with the management of the home. When we arrived the home appeared to be straightened up at first glance but then we noticed that the floors had not even been swept. We found sand on the floors and a number of dead roaches in the middle of the living room floor. We also questioned whether the sheets had been changed or cleaned as one we found a number of dark hairs in the sheets. I called the management company who routed a ticket to the cleaning crew. Upon speaking with the lady she was extremely rude and argumentative. Rather then fight with it I cancelled the 2nd cleaning as we simply didn't trust this lady coming by or getting into some nonsense argument that would eat more into our vacation. Next, we find that a portion of the house does not have power - one room and bathroom. I called this in and maintenance came by later that day. The gentleman was very kind and professional but did not have the key to get into the downstairs where the circuit breaker was. I was told that they would call me the next day once they had a chance to check for the key in the office or to get a locksmith over to unlock the door to get to the circuit breaker. The next day I did not have any missed calls from the management company by around 3 PM while I had received calls, voicemail and texts throughout the day. I called the management company back and they argued that they had called and left voicemail and that they would have the locksmith come by that day. eventually we got power back to that portion of the house but the overall experience ate into our vacation, caused unnecessary frustration and the service interactions were absolutely uncalled for.

We had a great family vacation with Village Realty hosts at Tankard. The house is spacious and the wraparound porches were wonderful. We could always find a breeze blowing on one of the built in corner benches while we enjoyed the beautiful view of the almost private beach just steps from the house. We were here for the July 4th week and frequently we were the only people in our line of sight on the uncrowded beach, as public beach access is over a quarter of a mile away. There is plenty of parking and the location is just minutes away from several grocery stores, outlet malls, and fun activities for the kids, yet we were never aware of any highway noise. The outdoor showers, cloths line, downstairs grill, ice maker and extra refrigerator are all examples of some of the nice modern conveniences in this historic home. The air conditioner was effective even on one day that reached into the 90s. The team at Village Realty was helpful and welcoming. We would definitely use Village Realty again.

We did not have any issues this year except for ants. Given that we visited at the end of July, I think ants can be expected, but they were in places where we had no food, such as the bar area, which we did not use. But Village Realty sent an exterminator quickly to solve that issue.

We have been Village Realty Customers since 2006. This year was the 6th time we have stayed in SN23 Lookout. We love this home, and the other homes we have stayed in that Village Realty manages. I can't say enough good things about the level of Customer Service I have received over the years. Our agent, Everett, was more than kind, accommodating, and very understanding. I wouldn't dream of staying in a home that Village Realty doesn't handle. Thank you for a world-class experience each, and every time!

Beautiful home within close walking distance to ocean beach access. There is one pyramid-bunk bedroom on lower level, 3 bedrooms on mid-level including the master king suite, a queen bedroom and a bedroom with 2 twin beds. And then a king bedroom on upper level where the kitchen and main living room is. There was laundry on mid- level. The WiFi didn't work in the upper king bedroom or the queen bedroom which were both on the far west side of the house. This house had very little extras in it. There was very minimal supplies such as: limited toilet paper, no extra trash liner bags, limited towels and not even a hand towel for some of the bathrooms. The kitchen was fairly well supplied but had no hot-pads and only one kitchen towel. We had to go to the store to get extra supplies that we felt should have been provided. Also, we were not real happy about the cleaning of the house before we arrived. The floors were dirty especially under the rugs and furniture and, although it was a pet-free house, there was clearly pet hair on the floors. The trash in one of the bathrooms hadn't been emptied from the previous renters. The vacuum cleaner had no bag in it so we weren't able to use it as it just threw all the dirt back out. There were several areas in the ceiling of the upper level that showed evidence of a previous water leak in the roof but we had no leaking when we were there and had plenty of rain that could have potentially caused a problem but didn't so the roof has probably been repaired but not the ceilings. We also had two curbside garbage pails instead of one garbage and one recycling pail.
To be fair, we never contacted Village Reality with any of our complaints other than the fact that both of the propane tanks for the outdoor gas grill were empty and they were very good about replacing them in a timely manner. But we have stayed in other rental homes before and have had much more "extras" that we would have expected in this rental as well for the amount of money that we spent. For those of us that were flying, we couldn't possibly have brought the necessary supplies for this house.
We still enjoyed our stay. There was a pool table in lower level and a relatively small outdoor pool and a hot tub which was nice since there was a "no swimming" alert at the beach due to high winds and waves. (Unfortunately, our stay was the week between hurricane Harvey and hurricane Irma so the weather was tropical-storm conditions that week.)

Village Realty gets a 5-Star rating. They were prompt and responsive to some minor issues we had at our rental home. We would use Village Realty again because of their service.
The 3 Star rating goes to the rental house, "CC300 Mon-Elisa" located in the Currituck Club, Corolla, NC - OBX. We absolutely LOVE the Currituck Club and this last visit July, 2018 was our 4th visit there. This rental needs SERIOUS ATTENTION from the owner. Village Realty was very good to deal with.
The house is in need of multiple items: 1) Several of the sliding doors are off track and virtually impossible to open/close. 2) Nails on the deck need to be hammered back - just try and walk it with bare feet! 3) The hardwood floors are on the brink of ruin - refinish them. 4) Pots/pans and utensils need to be replaced - many of the non-stick surface on them has worn off. 5) Check various light bulbs and replace the ones that are out - check the master bathroom. 6) Landscape issues - sadly, it's time to lose the beautiful Magnolia tree out front - it's so overgrown it detracts from the house and views. Trim the Live Oaks in the back - too overgrown and "jungle like."
Again, Village Realty was GREAT to deal with. I recommend them without reservation.

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks. I must say that Village Realty was so helpful. I had a ton of questions to ask and they politely answered all of them. Sometimes they even answered with a phone call to be sure I got all of the information that I needed.

We were set to come in the middle of September, 2018. But we had an uninvited guest showing up a bit early, Florence. Fortunately for us, she took a Southerly turn and missed the area of the OBX where we were staying. Village Realty kept us informed of the evacuations and when we could expect to get into our rental. As it turns out, we lost only 18 hours of our rental as we were able to get in at 10 am Sunday morning. Everything was in good order. And when you consider that this company manages over 700 properties (I asked), that is no small feat.

Our house in Kill Devil Hills was fantastic. It was as pictured and as promised. We had no problems getting there and getting in. The house itself did have some maintenance issues but they were no fault of Village Realty. We had about 5 things that needed to be addressed during our stay and they handled each one quickly. The only negative thing I can say is that they didn't communicate back to me when I would submit a maintenance request either by voice mail or by their app. It would have been nice to have had someone call and say "we got your message about the air conditioner. Someone will be out today."

Everyone I talked to, from the vacation specialists to the maintenance department to the repairmen on site, were friendly and responsive to questions that I had.

We found the house to be as advertised. It was functional, semi-oceanfront, within a few yards to the beach, and located in a quiet enclave of homes off a major road. The pool was a nice extra since the heat and humidity were so oppressive. There were several areas of concern, however. The floors and ceiling fans were not clean, and the internet connection was extremely slow. The carpet was soiled, as well. For the price we paid, one might expect more.

A few items should be taken care of in this house.
Two burners on the stove do not work.
The porch railings need to be painted and general debris around the home and pool, hot tub areas need to be cleaned up....it was pretty poor.
On the wooden walkway to the beach...nails are sticking up and need to be hammered in...about 15 nails....some one is going to get hurt...I didn't have a hammer or I would have attended to it.
The house was very nice. One of the hot/cold spikets in the master bedrooms is reversed. We have brought our family of 15 to Southern Shores 3 times utilizing a different reality firm each time. It would have been nice... it someone from Village Reality had stopped by or called, to ask us how we were enjoying the house.
We will be back.

We loved the house and the fact that we were right on the beach! Village Realty was awesome. The only complaint we had was the housekeeping company they use did not do a very good job on cleaning the house. We understood that there were problems with the renters before us and that carpets had to be shampooed (we walked on damp carpeting for 2 days) but the downstairs tiled floor was covered in sand and there was dust everywhere. Kitchen counters had not been cleaned off as well as appliances. Bathroom mirrors were very dirty (which made us wonder about the rest of the bathroom). A comforter from one of the guest rooms was removed and we were told a replacement would be brought the day we checked in (which did not happen). Luckily we found a spare comforter in the closet. I hope housekeeping appreciated the clean up job we did for them when we left.

The house was really nice, clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. The seating area in the living room was a little small for the amount of people the house holds. One suggestion would be to put felt pads under the dining room chairs. When moved they make a loud screeching noise on the tile floor that can be heard all over the house. This seems like it would be an easy fix

We have used Village Realty for Beach Rentals the past 2 trips to the Outer Banks (Corolla). Both experiences have been great... the second one, this year, not starting out exactly perfectly though. The home we rented this year had issues, and actually just about caught fire (!!!). Village Realty stepped right in (along w/ incredible First-Responders from the Corolla Fire Dept., Sheriff's Dept., and local EMS), and turned what could have been a horrendous experience into a great one. Village Realty immediately moved us into another Rental (which is fantastic, by the way, OSJ01). All we dealt with regarding the issues we had, made a lasting, very positive, impression. I would HIGHLY recommend Village Realty to anyone looking for a Beach Rental in the Outer Banks area. We will definitely be using them again next year!

Very disappointed in this rental company as my choice for vacation this year. Just checked into our rental in Nags Head, NC. and the house was never cleaned between guests. Waiting on the cleaning crew to perform the cleaning that was supposed to be done BEFORE my arrival so I can get unpacked and start my vacation. Needless to say I also have 3 young granddaughters here and it s past one of their bedtime and she not a happy camper to say the least, nor am I. I will also ad that I almost never send in this type of review but this is subpar to say the least.

These guys were great! Super responsive and available to help when we were having some parking issues with our neighbors. They sent someone to the property and followed up to make sure we were all set. Our property was clean upon arrival and better than we expected. I would 100% rent from them again!

There was no TV service, there was either mold or mildew on the refrigerator where you get water, we removed it. There was molding loose downstairs in the bunk bed room, there was sand on the floor in the upstairs bedroom, there was trash outside on the left side of the grass and a float and sidewalk chalk in the driveway. There was a trash can and lawn chair down stairs outside before you went into the pool. The lock on the pool door kept opening and wouldn't shut right. There was a rubber ducky in the pool. Looking forward to the refund on no TV service and thank you very much. Robin

Disappointed we weren't told of huge construction project on the beach in front of the house we rented for a week. Also found house to be big, roomy, but rundown. Doors didn't work all week, 4 chairs at pool for 16 people, cold pool, projects half done, dangerous broken entryway and drive. Beach Breeze needs attention.

We had an excellent experience with Village Realty in the Outer Banks. We reserved our Christmas week rental at the end of May, and Village Realty was easy to work with as far as the contract. They answered all my questions and were very prompt. They are very good with reminders about when payments are due. Whenever I had questions in the months before our vacation, they were quick to respond and eager to help. During our stay, they were extremely responsive, even though it was the week of Christmas. We were very satisfied with our experience with Village Realty.

We like everything except the condition of the furniture in the living area. The cozy nook in the kitchen is so uncomfortable it would be impossible to sit there for ten minutes. It desperately needs some new cushions and the sofa needs new springs. Your descriptions of this area sound wonderful, but the rent needs to fit the reality. I am a reader and would like to have at least one comfortable chair. I informed you of this several times, even looked for another place. The location is great,the kitchen, we are all cooks, pleases all, the bedrooms are fine. Please check on this problem in the living area. It is hard to watch the British Open and nap a little on the sofas.

Wonderful stay even the night Micheal passed through. Winds were tremendous causing small damage to our home and minor damage to the house next to us. We were amazed how quickly the damage was repaired. Reported damage around 8AM to Village Realty, their emergency number and they were out to evaluate within an hour and the repairs started within 2 hours. Very responsive!

We recently rented a house through Village Realty for a week this summer in Nags Head. The entire experience went very well from booking it back in November to arriving on the first day. The house was meticulously cleaned from top to bottom. I really like the fact that someone from Village Realty comes to the house before the next guests are able to enter. They were very friendly, and allowed us to get in early as soon as they approved it for our occupancy. The Jersey shore could learn many lesson from the process that Village Realty has. Keep up the good work...we'll be back!

A fabulous week in a fabulous home...Pompano. A very well stocked home. The linen service could be better. The sheets were like hospital sheets, the towels...too few per person and once again very institutional. Once we washed the towels they were much better. The throw rugs in front of the doors and in the kitchen were not clean. The kitchen rug was especially well past it's time to be washed. We had several concerns which were immediately rectified by Village Realty. With the exception of the linen service everything was perfect. I have used Village Realty for many years when I visit the Outer Banks. They make planning your vacation super easy and friendly.

Great customer service! Always pleasant and helpful. Making reservations are seamless. Check in/ out are super easy and convenient. Our property (No Wake Zone) was also ready early for our arrival. The property was well maintained, cleaned and stocked. I look forward to booking again with Village Realty in the future.

Overall, we had a good experience renting through Village Realty. We rented a beach-front house, which was even nicer in person than it appeared in the listing, which seems to be a rarity! I would give 5 stars, but there were some things that didn't work and weren't addressed: one of the dishwashers didn't work when we arrived and wasn't fixed and the hot tub stopped working mid-way through our stay. I would also expect a lovely house like this to have beach chairs for guests to use. But none of these were deal-breakers and we had a lovely week thanks to Village Realty!

Everything was so easy! The house was immaculate and was just like the pictures showed on their website. We loved everything about our stay! The website is very easy to navigate and the check-in and check-out process was a breeze.

Very nice property. Beach access across the street. Wonderful swimming pool, but would have been nice to have lights for nighttime swimming. Plenty room for multiple vehicles. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The range could use replacing. Only one negative, the pool table could use a resurfacing and new balls and (short) sticks. All-in-all, 16 family members had a great week. We may just book this house again. Thank you.
