My family and I made reservations with Village early in the year before COVID19 landed in our country and began to cause so much destruction. My wife works in a dental office which was closed quickly due to health safety concerns. I am self employed and my business came to a complete stop shortly after everything was shut down. Of course like everyone else in the country out of work we quickly began to think of ways to conserve costs so we could pay our mortgage and other essential costs like how to put food on the table for our 3 children. This is when my wife contacted Village to try to get a refund as it was several thousand dollars and would have helped us pay bills for several months. She called me crying a few minutes later. She was told that they understood our situation but would not issue a refund because we didn t purchase the insurance. Later that day I called and asked to speak with the owner, feeling devastated and in disbelief that during this global health and financial crisis this company wouldn t give us a refund so we could pay our mortgage due to a company policy . I spoke to Vice President Maggie Sexton and afternoon several emails between us her answer is the same you don t have the insurance and our policy is no refunds!! All this in spite of the fact that we are still out of work and can barley pay our bills much less go on vacation. We live in Virginia and our Governor has our state under a stay at home order until June 10 and our reservations are the week before that. Her response is if our bridges are open you will not receive a refund company policy sorry . This is an unbelievable display of greed, heartlessness and not to mention terrible customer service. This is no way to treat our fellow man during this crisis and a despicable way to run a business!!
