I got to the dealership and figured it the end of the month and end of the year and I d be greeted by sales personnel. No such luck. I walk around the showroom and still nothing. Finally I walk over to the managers desk . I see 2 gentlemen chatting and ignore me. Finally get one of their attention and say I d like to see your sequoias. The guy says they are in the back and continues his conversation! I m just wondering if I would get the commission if I bought one. Lazy and not helpful at all. It s a $60k+ vehicle.

My service rep Cedric has been wonderful for the past 8 years that I've been going to Toyota of Hackensack for service. I also suggest asking for Raymond, their top mechanic, if you can. The check in ladies are usually nice and friendly too. They also have a comfortable spacious waiting area with a decent free Starbucks coffee machine that also makes excellent hot chocolate. There are free bagels too as well as several good hi-rise desks with multiple power outlets if you want to get some work done over their free WiFi.
I dealt with Joseph Latino and Rudy Espana and they were both awesome. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. A great experience.

Typically I drop off my vehicle when it needs service but since I had no one to drive me and I had my toddler, I had to wait. I was disappointed that it took over 2.5 hours and the end result was that they could not find anything to explain the burning rubber smell. Additionally, when I called after 2 hours, I was informed that the system showed complete but I still needed to wait for my agent to contact me. It took another 45 minutes for that to happen.
Just finished picking up my 2017 CPO Toyota Camry on Wednesday 9/25/19. The experience at Toyota of Hackensack was fantastic from start to finish. Huge shout out to my salesman, Angel Alvarez who showed me the various CPO Camry's available. Took my wife and me for a test drive and was super friendly, courteous and expedited the entire process. I called the dealership inquiring about a 2020 Corolla Hybrid and Nicole from sales informed me that - there is 2020 Corolla Hybrid with 10 000 miles that was used by the dealership. The price $20500 and a brand new Corolla Hybrid is $21000 .
It s ridiculous they want to sell the used vehicle for the same price as used - not worth to even discuss further about this dealership l just would never recommend this dealer.

Although I did not purchase my car here I have been using their service department. Always done right the first time. I been using them for over 90,000 miles and appreciate their customer and service departments.
Hands down the best service department! Rudy Espana is our guy! He is always friendly, professional, and provides the best customer service. He has gone above and beyond to walk us through every service appt. We ask a million questions lol and he patiently listens. And then helps us figure it out. And to make the wait bearable...they have Starbucks coffee and Pacman Old school video game!

I personally would not recommend this place to anybody, they are just money hungry people. Over paid for the type of car I received, gave tank half when they are supposed to give it to you full, told me I had to pay $10 extra for gap insurance when they are not supposed to charge you for that. Horrible horrible place, think twice about going here to get a car. Never going here again and I do NOT recommend getting a car here!!

Worst car dealer ship my husband and myself have ever went to. We called and scheduled an appointment to look at a truck to only drive an hour to get to there and be told there was a deposit put down on it earlier in the day over the phone by an out of state buyer. When I asked you don t call to notify people that it was already purchased/ down payment I was advised no. I asked well why were we even allowed to make an appointment to test drive the car etc. I got the answer well you spoke with someone who does sales outside the office and they don t get notified for 24 hours. Ummm what? How is this even the proper way to do business? Create an email group for these outside sales people and send out 1 email to them hey such and such car has a down payment so you know not to schedule test drives. Simple as that, not only that but when a deposit is put down isn t it supposed to be logged for their inventory right away so other staff know? Like not even a phone call just to say it was sold. We had an appointment, our information was taken down for a reason. This dealer ship has no communication between staff, they are rude and treat you like your just a random person they don t care about. Not to mention I am a nurse and showed up in my scrubs (clean of course) just to be treated like that and advised well that how are business works. Whelp thanks for support of essential workers and being decent business people much less human beings.
Had me on hold for half-hour looking for a simple Brake Caliper Repair kit. Had to call a second time and ask for a manager, to which they stated was off today??? Tried requesting for the same parts and didn't know his A** from his elbow... Where have all the quality employees gone???
Armando in Sales, David in Parts and Cedric the Service Manager are the absolute best! They are very patient, professional and very knowledgeable. Always a great experience whether it involves repairs/maintenance work or a new vehicle.

I completely understand the car buying process and I'm not a difficult person. After a bad experience with another dealership, we found this dealership. Working with Jay and Jon, I found them very honest and easy to work with. They honored another dealership's very good price. Although problems arose with the time in which we got our vehicle, it wasn't their fault and they kept us informed. They made the process very quick and easy. I would go back to them to purchase in the future and I recommend them to others.
U hour just to put the artenador belt,also they change my new batery to charge me with my 2019 rav4 that have his warranty,the mecanic manager told me that i have to left my car for 3 days just for change a simple belt,they told me the toyota warranty not cover the parts,the manager doesnt now mecanic.

My personal experience with this dealership is good. The salesman's name, who was working with me is Jay Rim. Very polite gentleman. He was patient to work with me, which is not easy, and I must give him credit for that. Both cars I saw were in very good condition. I hope there will be no problems in future too ( or I will edit this post :)) ) . As a negative critics, from my point of view, is that somehow, I have a feeling that there is a lack of organization there. Starting from organizing the interior - the show room's form doesn't fallow the function, so you see the salesmen walking from one end of the building to the other in order to serve the clients, and deal with the paperwork, which causes delays and waiting. On the other hand, they would be much more profitable if they make 20 miles less walking in the showroom. I also noticed that our salesman was serving two-three customers at a time, and at the same time there was bunch of personnel wondering and leaning on the counter tops. Anyhow... The condition of the cars , and parking lot I have seen there, compared with the other dealers is much better ; the relations with the clients is on a high level, at less out of what I have seen ; The deal went relatively smooth ( with the small exception of the long waiting time ), but I am happy with the nice and pleasant purchase, and looking forward in working with them again.

I have more than one proof that the mechanics here are not reliable. My wife was told twice that the battery did not work and they have 12.65v charge, the door went to fix it and had to be taken again apparently they changed the system
I put 1 stars because ... first because I spoke online with a representative that I was interested in a Corolla hatchback manual transmission. And I told them that I had a car financed for a year and a half and if I had the possibility of changing it ... and they told me that it was possible to change it and that they had 3 Corolla manual hatchback available and that I had to make an appointment to see them and do a test drive. I made the appointment as they asked me.When I arrived to the appoiment there was nobody waiting for me I had to wait 15 minutes. After that a person came who did not tell me his name. He did not show interest in selling. I explained my situation and he could not help me and they did not have the vehicles they said they had. It's okay that all situations may not always be positive but please show some interest in helping the client.

I would say overpriced and try to manipulate you in buying new or leasing by offering horrible interest rate on used vehicle. Maybe it's great if you want to purchase new.
I was lied to by Samantha in the scheduling department. I scheduled an appointment to get remote start installed. I needed to also reset my tps sensors because I had them replaced and needed them reset for the light on the dash to go off. She told me it was no additional cost. Called again to make sure of the costs. Told me it would be $375 including tax. I specifically asked that there would be no additional cost or fees for resetting the tps sensors. She put me on hold for 10 mins and came back and said there would be no additional cost for doing so and that it will be $375. Thanked her. Got a call day before to confirm my appointment and came in yesterday for my appointment. I go to Olga who informs me that there is an additional cost for resetting my tps sensors and it will take an hour more of my time. The additional cost was $125 that Olga very kindly reduced to $100. Overall I am happy with everyones service except Samantha's. I would have been fine with the cost had I known about it prior to my appointment. I don't like being misinformed or lied to and really makes me not want to come back.
Such bad experience! The service department is very unprofessional. The girls are always flirting instead of working! Hire new staffs professional ones. There's a chunky blonde service advicer one.. that thinks she is going to sell more job by flirting. Besides that everything else is ok.

This is our 5th purchase from Toyota of Hackensack (our first being in 1993 or 4 when we purchased a Corolla).
John Perkins, our salesperson has been extremely helpful in pointing us in the right direction in getting the best value from our cars.
Our latest purchase was last Wednesday, Oct 30, 2013 and we purchased a 2013 Prius (our 4th Toyota Hybrid)
Service is always excellent and the staff is helpful and ready to make sure my cars are well maintained. Cedric is an excellent service associate - I had extensive work done on my 2006 Highlander Hybrid (timing belt, new battery, brakes, etc) and when I got the car back (after a free loaner all weekend), my Highlander Hybrid had been washed, waxed, mats cleaned and an interior spic and span at no charge. (Well, I am a good customer :-) - I highly recommend Toyota of Hackensack as a premier dealer and service center.
Experience at the Toyota of Hackensack was worthy of 5 stars. Beginning with Michael, our salesman to the expediant process of buying the car was excellent. Michael, a very patient and thoughtful salesman, worked to show me a few models within budget and took a test drive in two cars that I was interested in purchasing. The cars on the lot were exceptionally clean both inside and out. All personnel were very accommodating and the transaction of buying the car went very smooth and easy. Finally, Mike the tech man, walked me through "the bells and whistles" of the car and helped set up my Bluetooth connection. I would highly recommend this dealership for purchasing of a car.

Dealership is full of people and at least 20 people sittint there idly waiting for a sales man to come and try to make a deal. Salesman comes talks to you for 2 mins then vanishes for another 20 mins making sure your his last customer before he goes home. Its really strange for such a big dealership and no sales persons inside. If I could give it 0 starts I would. They arent even trying to make a sale. Just terrible.

My experience with Hackensack Toyota has been excellent . Their service and parts department is very professional , friendly , quick and clean . I have waited in the large lounge while my car was being serviced and sometimes i have taken the complimentary shuttle back home . They don't waste your time trying to offer you maintenance services that you don't need . Their service department is open seven days a week and they just started a new complimentary program in which they will pick your car up from your house or business if it's within a certain distance from the dealership . That is amazing !
NOV 6, BOUGHT MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR IN A VERY LONG TIME. WENT TO WORK ON THE SAME DAY HAPPY. NOV 7, WENT BACK TO POINT OUT THE DISCREPANCIES IN PRICING. WAS ASSURED TO MAIL A CHECK FOR THE DISPUTED OVER CHARGE(S). 2 WEEKS LATER, NO CHECK. I FELT I WAS CHEATED BY TOYOTA OF HACKENSACK. PROVE ME WRONG TOYOTA OF HACKENSACK..
Great service and very attentive, was warned about a chip on the windshield and a service advisor told me about it and got it taken care of right away, had also gone in for an oil change and the car was ready within the hour, was informed and everything went smoothly, great job here
Terrible experience, I definitely would NOT recommend this dealer to anyone. My 19 year old son purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler last weekend. He was told the Jeep was serviced, would be cleaned (as it was filthy dirty because they are having construction done in their car lot) and the tank would be full. The Jeep looked like they took a hose to the outside and never even touched the inside. The tank was less than half full and the check engine light came on the day he drove it home. The oil was black and the filters had not be changed. There clearly was not a service performed on this vehicle, which then cost him $277.00 to have the thermostat replaced and the oil and filters changed. The finance department had gotten his interest rate down from 9% to 6%, did not tell my son or my husband (who was cosigning the loan) and took upon himself to add in GAP insurance and tire coverage, again without even telling them, to keep the payments the same at the higher rate. Neither were NEEDED or WANTED. Yes the vehicle was sold "As Is" but there were also a lot of cosmetic but important things that should have been pointed out. Used or New, As Is or with Warranty, what dealership would let a vehicle leave their lot like that and be so shady with the financing.

Hackensack Toyota is the best dealership I've ever been to among the many dealerships, The people are worm especially Walter Chacon. I was finally treated well at a dealership without feeling guilty or inferior. The people are courteous and accommodating. I came in looking for a pre-owned 2020 RAV4 and was greeted by Miriam. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process and she was incredibly knowledgeable. She was able to find me a brand new 2021 with the exact package I wanted for almost the same price as what I had in mind for the pre-owned. Between the selection, the customer service, and the prices, I will definitely be back when I need another car.

I went into look for a certified used RAV4. I negotiated a car price for the car I wanted but when the sales person returned with the cost converted to monthly payment, I realized the cost was $20~40/month higher than what I had calculated and I challenged him on that spot. He admitted that his price was for some reason miscalculated and my calculation was right. I asked to quote for another car and he "accidently" calculated wrong (of course higher) again. The manager came out and had the audacity to still sell a car to me and wouldn't let me leave. Do not be fooled by them, know how to calculate monthly payment (google it) and always double check. Their trade in valuation is extremely low, I was able to get $3000 at another dealer compare to what they had offered ($500).
We were fortunate enough to work with Juan. He listened to us whole-heartedly and never tried to sell us anything but what we were interested in. He took care of everything -- insurance, title, registration, etc. I found this place to be quite excellent and would buy here in the future and recommend this place to anyone.

This dealership is very racist, and sexist. The dealership focused on my white male friend at the time they assume you have more money and better credit based off gender and race! This Toyota dealership is a disgrace to the brand and Toyota is my favorite. One dealer also has a foul mouth.
Was referred to Toyota of Hackensack by a friend, specifically sent to Miriam.. who was an absolute pleasure. She exceeded all expectations (and she was spoken very highly about to begin with!).. got a great deal on a great car. Two thumbs up.
After buying my Tacoma from this dealer, I later got news that they never had the tittle for my truck and they had to hold onto it for 3 yes THREE months while they obtained a duplicate title. In that time they left the windows cracked and mold started growing on the floors. When I told them about this, they reassured me they would clean the mold and when I got my truck back I saw they just covered it up with floor mats...DO NOT BUY A CAR/TRUCK from these clowns!!
Horrible Experience
I went to Toyota of Hackensack to buy a new Highlander! I walked in and no one greeted me and my family. We looked around at all the cars to get an idea of what we like for about 30 min, and still no one approached us. I went up to the front desk and I asked to speak to a rep that can help us. Melissa was my rep, and I have never met anyone as disrespectful and unprofessional as this woman. She was not interested in selling at all from her attitude. She had such a bad attitude since the minute I approached her for help. She told me to go look at the car myself ..without even offering to come along and introduce the specs to us. Then I told her that I looked at it and I m ready to talk, we sat down and she was very rude and has a very high ego. She wasn t willing to listen and all, she spoke to us in a very angry tone, and she has no control over her temper. She has no patience. She was getting upset with just us speaking. She called us irrational and just got up from her seat and left. I have never in my life seen such ill mannerism in my life. I have went to Toyota of Hackensack in the past as well, and those experiences were horrible as well. But I thought I d give it another chance, but unfortunately I was wrong. You lost a good customer who was a serious buyer and customer who has a very long relationship with Toyota.
Worst dealership ever!!!!! They leased us a car after my husband asked them if everything was okay with his credit and they told us that he was approved and everything was fine, only to find out a month later that the bank denied our leased. While my husband was negotiating a new deal with them, they sent a tow truck in the middle of the night to pick up the car. We were never late with any of our payments. They lied to us from beggining to end. Please save yourself from the worst crooks ever, do not go to this dealership!

Very shady practices at this dealership. I gave them my credit card to put a deposit on a car (gave them a very specific date that I would be there) and then they sold the car out from under me. When I saw that the car was taken down on their web site and confronted the sales person I was dealing with (who told me the car was sold), I was told that the sales manager would call me right back, but that never happened.
I am a General Sales Manager at a dealership. I didnt buy a car here but i came to service my wife's car. The service was on point. Pulled in was greeted promptly and courteous, all concerns addressed right away and my service write Jessica was professional and got me out in very little time. Salespeople (Raphael) who don't know their product and employees (Ann) who falsely claim to be managers until they realize you are serious. Take an extra ten minutes out of your day to go to another Toyota dealership.

We purchased two cars from this dealership and the process has been great and hassle free the second time around. The salesman Walter was very helpful, courteous and not pushy. I test drove several cars, chose a car and returned later to complete the paper work. There wasn't much room to haggle but the finance manager gave us a nice discount off the Value Added Services. Never was I forced to sign a blank contract. He explained everything in details, I agreed and signed. I even take the cars there so service because the customer service is the best and the shuttle service is even more amazing. This dealership makes me want to stay strictly Toyota, wish I could've bought a new Lexus here.

I waited a very, very long time to own a car, new or used. The thought of having to go up against a salesman when I was most decidedly NOT a haggler seemed overwhelming. I had been talking to Ron a couple of months earlier about the Scion tC until I saw what was to come. .
The 2016 Scion iA seemed perfect for me. And these guys at Scion/Toyota of Hackensack won me over with their up-front approach. I was a woman, alone, entering the wolves den but never once did they speak down to me or ask me when my husband would be joining me. If you are a woman, you get what I mean I would have turned and walked out had I been on the receiving end of that! But they passed the test immediately and it was smooth going from there.
Ron let me know as soon as one of the first cars came in. I wanted a white one and he fought off other potential buyers for that white Scion because he knew I had waited for it. Two days later I was driving off in it! I won t say doing the deal wasn t intimidating for a first-timer like me but they all made me feel welcome and answered any question I came up with. They helped me with financing also; their rate was lower than the bank from which I had received a quote on my own.
I know there have been a lot of very negative reviews of this dealership but I did not experience that at all. Some people are impossible to please or walk in with a chip on their shoulder, ready to fight with the salesman. In that case, can you expect a warm reception? You get back what you give.
I am happy to give Toyota/Scion of Hackensack 5 stars.
Everyone I dealt with was professional, knowledgeable and well trained. I did not feel that ugly pressure one often feels when buying a car. The process was simple and very straightforward. Ron, Mike and Mario all treated me with kindness and respect. I will definitely be recommending friends and colleagues to them.
