Beautiful resort property at on the beach and village walk in Jekyll Island.
Beautiful resort property at on the beach and village walk in Jekyll Island.
Reasonable pricing during the winter. Rooms were quite modern and staff was polite and attentive.
Great hotel right on the beach. I was upgraded to an ocean front suite cause I was there for one night in the off-season but it was great. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and the towels were actually more soft than any other place I've been too. Maybe I was just imagining thing but so what. I'd come here again in the off-season, great hotel for the price.
The resort is on a great area of beach. Rooms with a beach side view are a must. However we left at 8 am and came back 12 hours later to find our room not made. We complained to the Concierge who took our name and room number and were assured it would be corrected. We went to the bar for two hours and went back to room to find it still was not made. The next morning had to find maid to give us more amenities for the bath and told her we had our room missed yesterday. She asked what room and wrote it down but never apologized. We mentioned this experience to the front desk clerk as we were checking out and she asked if we had placed a do not disturb sign on the room the day before! We assured her we had not. No effort or discount was made to our bill. They gave us some extra reward points.
I might try them again if they acted like they cared. This is not how I expect or have been treated in the past at a 4 star resort.
The Westin had great service for the conference I attended. The staff were polite and helpful.
From the check in to the stroll on the beach. This is a beautiful property. Everyone was nice from the bellman to the pool attendant. I really like the casual uniforms on the bellman. Our room clean, fresh.
Great hotel overall. The staff was very friendly, food was great, the beach is steps out the back and dog friendly (on a leash), and also steps away from restaurants /bars /shops. You do have to pay to enter the island ($6 as of October 2018). We used Jacksonville Airport which is an hour away. We were upgraded to a suite with a good view and you could hear the ocean. The balcony had no privacy however... If you pay for a suite, ask for one that's directly facing the ocean and not above the courtyard.
Nice and new, but the pool, what pool, too small, no beach Hut for drinks or chair and umbrella service, snack bar was only open if people were there and there are no restaurants around the Westin that you can eat at that are good.
Wonderful facility. Great views. Nice rooms. Comfy beds and linens. Nice staff. Highly recommended!
Very nice hotel but rather expensive with kids I would much rather stay at a Holiday Inn or something like that
Check your bill when you visit this hotel. They charged 15.00 for valet and charged $25.00 for extra adult. We had 2 adults and 2 children in our 2 queen room.
The Westin was amazing. We went to celebrate my sister in laws 40th birthday. Rooms were nice and spacious. We had an amazing view of the beach. Restaurants were awesome. Also, the market is right outside the hotel which is super convenient. Staff was really accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be back. Thanks for an amazing experience.
The building was great! Staff was very nice and courteous. Great location connected to the beach. My only complain is that the water takes a bit to get warmed up and the smell of the water. There is a slight sewage smel.
Everything was good except the fact that instead of giving me an island view which I paid for . I got a roof top view . When I mentioned to the front desk which I think she was a manager , She couldn t care less! That s poor customer service. Also they were very slow when I checked in it took them so long and this is after 4 pm!
I would give our recent stay five stars. The service and staff was wonderful. We requested an upgrade and received with no issue. Both Shaun and Jessica at the front desk was exceptional. I would recommend the resort to family and friends.
Very attentive and friendly staff, beautiful hotel. We had a 50th wedding anniversary party there. Angela (?) Was amazing. We had 4 hour playlist that we couldn't use because there was a free musical concert right next to our venue. She actually moved us the firepit area so we could have a toast and have it be heard. She extended the open bar for 30 minutes at no charge to us. She went above and beyond.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean with a nice view. Think the dinner menu can be updated witha little bit more variety.
We did not stay in the hotel, only attending an event but what I saw of the Westin was quite good. The location is beautiful the the hotel feels very contemporary and rather high end. My wife and I have made plans to come back and stay for a weekend here because of our experience.
They do loose one star as the event (wine and whiskey tasting) was rather rough around the edges. The food was served buffet style with no where near the room needed to pull this off. People that sat inside were almost all placed along the line of people getting their food. They were jostled while they were trying to eat, just by the people moving up to get food. I felt quite bad about that and tried hard to avoid hitting anyone (not an easy task) Outside was much better, but managing getting drinks and a plate of food along the circuitous route was a bit difficult and we were concerned we'd spill something (on someone). The food however was quite good for a buffet and some stations were preparing the food fresh.
I don't know if the troubles were an issue of the hotel, event planners or both.
Stopped in to ask for directions. Employees were very accommodating.
Great location - walking distance to the Convention Center and shops.
Splendid place to stay, awesome breakfast buffet, very professional staff (and I mean very - I'm a Platinum SPG member so I stay in a lot of hotels). Winter climate can be a drag, but great biking around the island on a sunny winter day. Must be even better in summer.
More adult oriented, go here to shop and site see. Go to Tybee or somewhere else if you want family frolic on the shore.
Very comfortable handicapped accommodations. Staff was very helpful and went out of their way for guests
STAY AWAY!
Westin Hotels should be ashamed of this property. Had a terrible 4th of July experience and it has been over three weeks since the property GM (Kevin Runner) promised to research and address our issues. Still waiting for that callback.
1) Reserved room level not provided a check in. Immediately knew when we got to our room w/o balcony. We paid ~$400 ($100/night) extra for this and they were just going to pocket the money (that s stealing).
2) Be aware the hotel allows dogs. Walls are not insulated enough and were woken just before 7AM when another guest left their unattended barking dog in the room for the day.
3) Worst housekeeping: Room smelled like mildew, thick dust layer on bathroom fan, housekeeping was a complete no show on the second day. Called to have the room made up when we were headed out for dinner, specifically asked for the boogers on the headboard to be addressed, they made the bed and gave us fresh towels but no luck on the boogers.
4) Pool is very small and it was busy being the 4th. The water though was an opaque haze. Pretty bad when you can barely see the bottom in the deep end. It was that way for all four days we were there.
If you were looking to stay in that area I d recommend you find another hotel.
Clean rooms. Lots of food options by foot.
They REALLY need to fix the "No Re-Entry" door at the stairwell exit tto the pool. No matter how hard you slam it, it will not close securely.
And it is really hard to shave when the only light in the bathroom is behind you.
The meeting room was comfortable and the food was delicious
We had the best experience at the Westin!! Every staff member I either came in contact with or just passed by was extremely polite and helpful!! Our room had the most amazing view and the pool was perfect!! We were there for 4 days and did not have to leave the island once!! Thank you Westin for the perfect little getaway!!
Recent stay no daily maid service due to covid. First night one washcloth for two people. Had to call for needs empty own trash. Room rate doesn't reflect not having these services. I work in a hospital and sanitization is importance.
Very clean rooms, very... staff is great and knowledgeable.
Words cannot express the perfection of our wedding at The Westin Jekyll Island. Robin Monosa is a wedding angel that the world does not deserve! She was dedicated from start to finish to help us create our vision, stay on budget, and offer suggestions from her experience to guide us through tough decisions. The food was incredible and can be customized to most budgets. We got the package deal due to a smaller head count and it was so wonderful!
The day of our event the weather was against us and we had to move our planned courtyard wedding into the lobby, and it was the most beautiful lobby wedding you will ever see thanks to the incredible work of Robin and The Westin team. I was not stressed at all on the big day because I trusted her so completely with every aspect of the event. She is extremely talented, the venue is gorgeous, the food is wonderful, and there is nowhere on Jekyll that can compare with the cost, hospitality, and talent.
Cute on the beach hotel, fire camp area, fun big chairs for pictures, 2 pools.very nice people, only thing the elevator was not working and not a problem for some.i have trouble with my legs caused some pain a week of it .Nice big relaxing room in lobby over looking the beach upstairs and good breakfast downstairs in lobby.
New hotel that was built about 2 years ago. It is a nice spacious hotel and reasonably priced in the off season. They have a lot of rooms with balconies that look out onto the ocean. It is next to the newly constructed Village which has shops and restaurants. Most of the shops have the same things in them (souvenirs and clothes for tourists). But there are some good restaurants over there. I also think the gym at the Westin is good for a hotel gym.
Just was here to grab coffee what a mistake. The hotel looked lovely though.
Great breakfast buffet with fruits, eggs, breakfast meats, yogurt, pancakes, and other breakfast foods. Staff is friendly and professional and the beach view is beautiful.
The room and service were awesome! The location is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and the convention center. Can't wait to go again.
Beautiful, oceanfront hotel. Free parking available at the hotel, and the hotel has a shuttle to drive you to various points around the island.
Super happy with the luxury of the Westin. Great location, nice beach, in the middle of things but still feels relaxing. Helpful staff. Lots of attention paid to cleanliness during covid.
Beautiful property and very clean. Front desk staff was super-helpful and very, very pleasant. However, the Reserve Restaurant in the hotel needs some better leadership. There were more people in the kitchen than parties the restaurant at dinner tonight, which seemed to churn out some inefficiencies, and the bar staff really did not seem that attentive. The managers were more expo'ing and delivering food, rather than checking with guests, and ensuring things were done right. Rather than bore everyone with details, just know that the amount of money spent here is really not worth the experience (or lack thereof in tonight's case). The dining order was not right, the bartenders need guest experience training (just knowing how to mix a drink doesn't make you an expert with engaging people)..and overall the staff seemed to be missing a strong leader. Really quite surprising for such a wonderful property. Hopefully they will get it corrected. I go out of my way to stay here while traveling on business.
The Westin hosts our company Christmas party every year and Shawn does an amazing job putting everything together. The Westin is a wonderful place do have a social event! And to top it all off, the Westin is dog friendly as well.
The hotel was great very clean bed was great the Bar and Restraint could do a lot better very poor other then that great hotel
My husband and I stayed here during October of 2020. For the caliber of hotel, we enjoyed a pleasant stay! It s not the ritz, but we did have excellent service. Victoria and Chad were two of the concierge we interacted with and both were above and beyond! Chad checked us in and was friendly and courteous. Victoria has great recommendations for restaurants and things to do around the island.
Separate reviews will be left for the two restaurants - Salty s and the Reserve - but we had excellent service and food there as well.
The only thing that could be improved was cleanliness at the hotel. A few of the outdoor tables and chairs needed to be wiped down from dust and bird poop. Several of the outdoor light fixtures had cobwebs - nothing to impede with our experience, but an opportunity for improvement nonetheless.
Additionally, it seems like it might be time for some of the sheets and towels to be replaced. Our first set of towels were fairly frayed - though they still did the trick for drying! We got more later in our stay and these were a little less worse for wear.
Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at the Westin Jekyll Island. The beach access was wonderful and the little shops and restaurants nearby were great!
The staff is amazing and the beach right outside your door has a perfect view. Rooms are huge and the food was great, found nothing wrong with this place.
So, restful, great location, great choice in restaurants, beautiful interior, great rooms, friendly staff, love it here.
Billed my credit card I reservered the room under.
Then they billed the whole stay under my friend's debit card and told her only for incidentals not the reservation. Imagine the surprise on their bank account. Took a week to get this straightened out with the hotel staff and get the money back in her bank account even after they billed my credit card immediately after. I'm not sure their business practices are legal for charging the same room on 2 different cards at the same time.
Great location. Fancy smancy. Great place for a convention. The westin hotel is a 5 star venue. On the beach with great eating and shopping. Right next door to the convention center.
Amazing hotel with instant beach access and wonderful balcony views. Hotel staff is wonderful and friendly. I will be staying here again.
Picturesque to the T, very much worth a visit if you do not mind paying for the toll to get onto the island.
Very clean and beautiful hotel. Attended a work party and stayed overnight. Room and bed were comfortable. Quiet and relaxing. Ocean view is awesome. There are convenient restaurants and bars on site. I will go back definitely.
The Westin Jekyll Island is as inaccessible and inhospitable a place as you can find on the eastern seaboard. While some may take it as a fun adventure to be outside the range of any Uber or Lyft, to be cordoned off from the mainland by an $8 toll, to be unable to access a drugstore or superstore in case of emergency, please don't take the risk. My garment bag was stolen from outside my room. I was unable to get help fixing another bag when I needed help. Ubers took more than an hour to reach the hotel (if they came at all), and I was late to a wedding on the mainland because of the unexpected delay (the concierge and front desk are completely unhelpful). As a final parting gift, a pet had pooped outside my room on my final morning, and it had not been cleaned up; it looked like it had been sitting there all night. Apparently the pet had the same feelings I did about this hotel: a real dump.
Great location and dog friendly! Express service was hit or miss. Forgot to clean our room one day after we asked. The restaurant Harry s was reasonably priced for the quality of breakfast. Parking is going to get tight as new hotel across the street gets built. Access to plenty of shopping and restaurants in the Village. Beach access was convenient and close to the outdoor pool. Fitness center needs fans and needs the air checked. Decent equipment for vacation workouts. Definitely top of our list!
Absolutely Stunning. Quiet, Calm, Comfort. Great place to unwind.
We had a beautiful ocean view room to stay in for our wedding weekend. Quite expensive, but what can you expect from a 4 star hotel. The hotel is pet friendly, but be aware that the walls are very thin. We extended our stay one night and the staff forgot to reactivate our keys. Of course our dog was barking as we were trying to get in the room. Some mean old lady came out and threatened to kill our dog, then claimed he was barking all through the night (which was a lie, considering we were with him every night and all he did was sleep...), but a mean old lady isn't the fault of the hotel. The only thing that irked me was they called up to the room and told us to "just take him everywhere you go" which we were doing the entire weekend...he was alone for less than 1 hour.
Gorgeous facilities, beach access, several small shops right there
The hotel was clean, had tons of amenities, and staff was always on hand. Literally my only complaint was how filthy my windows were so I couldn't see out of them well, but hey, that's the Atlantic sea breeze
Went to the Sunrise cafe across the street at 10:30, but they had stopped serving breakfast at 10. They told us that The Weston served breakfast till 11, so we went there. $20 for an all you can eat breakfast buffet that included delicious fresh fruit, coffee, juice, omlet bar, pancakes, French toast, waffles, etc. The sausage was delicious... as was everything else. We didn't stay at the hotel, but the breakfast was well worth the $20
It was great! My wife and I came here for our one year anniversary and had a wonderful time. Madison at Saltys was amazing l!
I went to the beach and had an incredible time. The water was so warm I ended up staying all day. Finding parking can be a bit tricky as the island is a buddy place. There are lots of restaurants there and very developed unlike Cumberland island.
This lovely, pet-friendly hotel is top-notch, with sprawling amenities, gorgeous views, and close proximity to all that Jekyll Island has to offer. They have an observation deck where friends can gather before or after a stroll on the beach. Our two little dogs loved all the attention they got from staff and other guests. We'll definitely be back again. Thanks, Westin, for this magnificent property.
Beautiful private .lots of seas
he
We stayed for July 4th 2015 in an oceanfront
Disabled room. Was. Very spacious.
Had a double balcony. Dinner in main
Dining room delicious.
Very nice area, not too crowded. Small but enjoyed it.
Check in and check out was quick and easy. Room was great with beautiful view of the beach from the balcony.
