This is a great property. My wife and I are staying here for a much needed relaxing vacation. We have had nothing but a great experience since we arrived. All the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful! As a platinum SPG member we received an upgrade to an oceanfront suite and it is beautiful! Amazing views!! Seriously the only complaint we've had would be that the refrigerator is super small and only cools bottled beverages slightly. (This is a petty annoyance at best in our mind)

This review is for their upscale dining room. The food was...adequate. The menu was rather small, as were the portions, but the service was excellent and they had a good drink selection although disappointingly, they have no beer on draft. All in all, it's about what I would expect for an upscale dining room in a high priced resort. Nice ambiance, high prices, adequate food. Probably a nice place to stay with their location right on the ocean but I doubt I'd eat here again. Better and cheaper food prices elsewhere.

After a week's stay, my husband and I decided that our money is best spent on a place that will treat you better and provide all the perks that come with a 4 star establishment. The Westin is not for us....only business travelers who only want to drink and sleep. Not worth the money for pleasure or comfort or the extra attention found at other nearby hotels....don't waste your time at this place....The bellmen were nice...pool was ok.

Leaves a lot to be desired, everything seemed really dirty, food was just ok. Pool area didnt appear clean, my shower head had mildew. Sitting outside for breakfast you could see the dirt on the windows and walls. I just disgusted. Plus the love bugs and dragonflies were just everywhere.

Had an amazing stay. Staff were nice and very helpful. The hotel was clean and very neat. Two big pluses are that the hotel is right off the beach, and the hotel also has a complementary shuttle service that will take you anywhere on the island and pick you up anywhere on the island free of charge and unlimited amount of times. Highly recommended.

Didn't stay at this hotel but the views from the hotel were worth the drive up! Beautiful beach, island amenities and activities and I can only imagine staying at this hotel and being able to walk right onto the beach and gaze at the morning sunrise/ or evening sunset.

Very nice hotel, stayed twice in the last week. Rooms very clean and fresh, and overall experience is excellent. Stayed while traveling via motorcycle along the coast, and staff were accommodating with parking. I would definitely stay again.

Rooms are clean and large. Some of the little things are absent, though - no vending machines, for example (they'd rather you go to one of their on-campus bar/restaurants instead). Service was prompt and courteous.

Lovely atmosphere on the beach. You can walk EVERYWHERE. I d give more stars but I asked 8 times over two days (to multiple associates) for fresh sheets and towels and this was more than housekeeping could handle. Mgr didn t care about our needs and hotel was only 30% full! 8 requests?! Fail. My requests fell on deaf ears. NO FOLLOW THROUGH. WON T RETURN. Go next door... same rates, better.

This hotel was awful, the room was half cleaned and the sheets had stains and the water taste and smelled funny. I canceled our second night at this hotel simply because the water was unbearable and it worried me since I m pregnant. This hotel<br/>Is ocean front and one of the best on the island it s absolutely beautiful when you walk in which is a shame considering all of its flaws. Bring Bottle Water and antibacterial soap if you must stay at this hotel.

Very hospitable, quite well kept, clean, and right next to the beach. I haven't tried out everything yet, but very pleased so far. Somewhat limited cabinet space though (only 3 drawers in the closet). Looking forward to the rest of our stay!

Very nice hotel in a convenient location right on Jekyll Beach. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms are nice and spacious. Parking can be tricky if the hotel is crowded. The in-room refrigerator is an afterthought, but most guests probably aren't going to use it.

The decor in the hotel ranged from khaki to taupe to grey. Most of the guests don't actually have bowel movements, so all of the toilets are very clean. Older couples, not really a family vibe, but there is a nice pool. Imagine if a Patagonia store came to life.

Consider this a cautionary tale. Last week we went to the Florida Gulf (North Reddington Beach) at the Double tree Hotel. Amazing beach front view. And every room had a balcony, even the rooms with a bay view. So we were treated to this amazing room, gulf view, and everyone at the hotel was amazing. From Mr. Jim who helped us with our luggage, to Tonya the amazing waitress who served us lunch. And Silvia our housekeeper from Columbia. So we came home feeling totally pampered. Not because it was a super luxury hotel but because everyone we met was dedicated to making our stay exceptional.

So we drive back home, wash laundry and the next day, head over to the Jekyll Island Westin. In the interest of full disclosure, we drove through a thunderstorm for two hours to get to the coast. We get checked in and our room was.....horrible, abysmal. Like worst hotel room in the last 35 years bad. . 2nd floor over the loading dock for the hotel. While I was observing this, a huge bag of garbage was exiting the hotel. So we were paying the convention rate, plus the resort fee for the privilege of watching them empty garbage. Great public spaces, wonderful beaches, and great staff (Fredrick, the guy who helped us with our luggage is a great representative for Westin). Everyone at Westin management told us to....pound sand. Very politely. And I should state that I attempted to head this off by trying to get a decent room months ahead of time and would be very happy to pay a much higher room fee, like $100 a night to make my wife happy. Tried to do this but no dice. So be VERY CAREFUL about booking a room here. A substantial portion of the rooms overlock the loading docks, generators and parking lots. And they will tell you sorry but we can t help you. If our convention is here next year, we are booking at the hotel next door. The rooms may $100 more a night but at least I won t be in a dump...

I am giving this two stars instead of one because of Fredrick. Hope he gets a promotion, even though it was his second day on the job.

absolutely loved this stay, probably the best option for beachfront hotels on the island! everything is so clean and covid aware we felt very safe. The beach is amazing and feels very private, and the assortment of shops right next door make it easy if you've forgotten to pack something or just to grab a souvenir. The starbucks attached to the hotel was also a lovely addition. Will definitely be returning !!!!

This hotel is truly a 5 star experience. It s very clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and it s only minutes from the beach, restaurants, and shops. We stayed here for a weekend and didn t have to drive anywhere! Highly recommend! Great job Westin! We will def be returning.

Sam, our waitress was wonderful! The only issue was it was off season at the island but we were there for a work conference. The manager would not however turn on the lights on the balcony or offer any resolution to the bugs. We were bitten badly. I think they should still give 100% customer service even in the off season as it was still summer temperatures.

Nice hotel, room was excellent, clean tidy and good size. Went to the steak restaurant on site and had a fantastic meal, also enjoyed the bar. All the staff I interacted with were helpful and smiling all the time. The hotel is right on the beach and close to a number of shops and restaurants that are easily walkable from the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, room is very nice and the staff were warm and welcoming. I can only give this hotel and our stay a 2 star due to the fire pit in the center of the courtyard (room balconies surround the courtyard). There was a fire lit from late afternoon until late evening. While we enjoy a campfire as much as the next person ..being above it on a balcony was awful. The fire pit should be moved OUT of the center courtyard to the outside perimeter or converted to a gas fireplace
You can not open your patio door without being overcome with the smell of campfire and worse actual SMOKE. We tried to use the patio for cocktails and relaxing and unfortunately were held hostage in our room with the door closed the entire time. With a 7 year old with asthma he required multiple breathing treatments when the door was left partially open.
This was very disappointing. Beaches are beautiful and early morning walks and bike rides great. We will be back to the island but will not return to the Westin.
On a final note there is no laundry options (inspite of being at the beach and having wet swimsuits etc.

Thanks to the staff of Westin-Jekyll for the outstanding service during our most recent stay.

The staff was "on point" and everything was clean and orderly. I like thec"green" option for housekeeping as an alternative source for conservation.

Loved the lawn entertainment. It was wholesome and family friendly.

The dining options in the restaurant were superb!! I had the Salmon Steak and Hubby had the porkchop- both were cooked to perfection.

Jekyll Island has evolved so much over the most recent 15 years. There is so much to do and explore on the island; and it is only a short drive from Jacksonville!

Keep up the great work!!

Starwood Preferred Guest Gold Tier Member but Saw No Benefit...

I will preface this review by saying I called both the Westin front desk as well as the SPG customer service number during my stay to reach a resolution. I received an explanation of why I received no Gold Membership level benefits, but they did not offer any true, hospitality-level customer service.

The Westin property on Jekyll Island is top-notch. We were in town for a wedding on St. Simons Island, a 31 minute drive away. I specifically chose the Westin property on Jekyll Island because of the SPG association and my Chase Ultimate Rewards site recommendation. Much to my disappointment, the Starwood gold membership rewards were non-existent despite my membership being included with my booked reservation.

Mobile check-in was unavailable
We received no gift upon check-in
There was no bell-hop to help us with our luggage after a super-long drive from Atlanta (they were aware of our long drive in as I had called earlier in the day to have them add that information to my reservation notes).
The front desk SPG Rewards attendant suggested we "try our luck" finding a parking space outside or feel free to use the parking garage attached to the building. There was a Valet clearly marked at the front of the building, and I had to ask if that service was available as the attendant was not stationed there.
They said they weren t equipped for the digital key feature available through the app, although the app states they are
Housekeeping did not service our room (ah, they actually just knocked at 9:21am on the day of departure.)-- I wonder if I will receive my extra SPG points for water conservation!
A room upgrade was unavailable due to them being overbooked. We were in one of the worst positions for full ocean view on the property. Our room was on the side of the building, overlooking a noisy parking lot, almost at the front of the property the furthest away from the ocean, although I booked and paid for a "grand deluxe full ocean-view room."
They did not honor the 4pm extended check-out time stating they had over 140 checkouts scheduled for the day. What does that have to do with me checking out at 4pm?

I am a frequent traveler, but this was my first time using my Starwoods Gold reward status. I saw and received zero benefit from this program and will reluctant to participate in this loyalty program to accrue points in the future.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I called Starwoods to voice these concerns in person. They offered the explanation that because I used my Preferred Chase Sapphire ultimate rewards points and booked through the Chase reward site, I was ineligible to receive any of my SPG rewards even though I linked my SPG member number with the reservation (why offer that option, then?). Hilton Honors doesn't have these same stipulations and I've received nothing but exemplary benefits and service from them.

In closing, although I highly recommend the property for the modern property, room comfort and cleanliness, staff hospitality, food quality, and proximity to the beach, I wouldn't recommend the SPG program at this point.

Convenient location. Interior balcony room is worth the price, very nice view. All staff I encountered were helpful and very friendly. I don't like the $15 resort charge, it is excessive. The room was very clean. I love that they recycle and have green alternatives for reusing towels (including points added to spg account).

It wasn't terrible, just very disappointing. I understand that traveling with Covid is a different experience but I just went to a Marriott property in Atlanta and the experience there was MUCH better than this Westin. First of all as a Gold Elite Bonvoy member I always get an upgrade when available because of my commitment to their brand, but not this time. They claimed the hotel was almost full but that was clearly not the case...not sure if they just didn't want to bother or what. It seemed like they stuck every single guest on the third floor, including all of the guests who brought their barking, yapping and howling dogs. I asked the desk if they didn't have some system of letting guests with dogs stay on one end of the property or one floor so they could enjoy each others yapping, howling and barking. But they said no, everyone gets to put up with it! And boy did they! I love animals, but I don't even want to sleep on a bed with my own dog shedding on it much less a stranger's dog(s) who stayed in my room before I did. It's disrespectful to guests who want to have a vacation from home, including the care and noise of their own pets to force them to endure this situation. Their ATM was broken which meant we couldn't tip some of their staff--I asked the desk if I could charge it to the room or get a few dollars advance from my room charge but they said sorry, no! The televisions were not smart TVs and they had very limited stations, no YouTube, Nexflix or Hulu options or even any good movie channels. I asked the front desk if they had any guides as to their station lineup or if the TV itself had a guide option and they said sorry, no! It rained a lot yesterday and it was a bummer to be stuck in the room with no options other than flipping the TV searching for a good movie unless we wanted to watch something on our phones! The pool was WAY too small for the amount of guests and the fitness room was closed (although some Marriotts allow a limited number of guests to use them but not this Westin as guest services were obviously not the object here). There were no coffee makers in the room but they did give a $2 per person credit to buy coffee at the Starbucks--which had HUGE lines every morning. Getting a cup meant at least a 20-30 minute wait in line with people, about half of them refusing to social distance or wear masks. They had one restaurant operating but again, long lines and no respect for the social distancing mask situation. We checked out this morning; last night the hotel dropped a flyer under our door to let us know all of their restaurant/coffee areas were closed as there were positive COVID tests for one or more of their employees. That included the Starbucks; hope I wasn't served by the one(s) that had it. Glad to be home...would not stay there again.

Beautiful property. 2nd time here. I had a couple of complaints regarding service requests. I asked the concierge to please pass my observations to management. Left it at that. Was supposed that same day when management sent up Fiji water and a plate full of petite fours (with a personalized card) to my granddaughters and my room. Very classy and a nice touch.

The ocean view room that was booked was over sold and we were given an upgrade but it wasn t cleaned. So ended up with an upgrade and a view of the parking lot. Tried to discuss with hotel manager but he was never available and apparently was to busy to call us back. Very poor customer service.

The a/c in the rooms is motion activated so while you're sleeping it turns off and gets hot. Dumb. Don't order off the menu at the restaurant for breakfast. The chef doesn't know what a potched egg is and the hollandaise sauce was especially gross. It would have earned less stars if it wasn't for the location and the service staff was great.

Overpriced, we waited an hour past check in to get in a room, no parking available, asked for an extra pillow which they did not have, fridge in room did not work, beaches outside were a mess.... overall a huge disappointment.
