Was extremely disappointed with the quality of the bed. My husband and I typically stay at Westin properties because of their comfy mattresses. Not here! Our bed was hard as a rock! Both of us toss and turned all night, not getting a wink of sleep. Also, there needs to be more specific signage on how to get to the pool/beach from guest rooms. It is not marked clear enough and the customer representative checking us in was rude and wanted to rush us away from the check-in desk so quickly we never got a chance to even ask. We checked in about 1 PM on Saturday afternoon and we tried to go to the pool for a couple of hours however there was not a chair to be found! They have so many cabana rentals taking up space that it limits the amount of free chairs available. And those chairs were full of people or had towels in them indicating they were reserved. So we had to lay our belongings on the edge of the pool wall and hope that no one walked away with them while we were in the pool. We kept an eye on those chairs that had towels on them with no people, and they remained empty the whole time we were there! They should of had a staff member present at the pool monitoring this to allow all guests to have access to chairs and prevent hoarding . However, there was no staff present with the exception of two servers that only provided service to you if you rented a cabana. Otherwise you had to walk up to the bar to get your drinks.

We order food from the poolside bar/restaurant Splash . My husband had a hot dog with fries. He said it was ok . I ordered hummus with vegetables and pita chips. It was terrible. The hummus was gritty and warm and the veggies (carrots, celery and cucumbers sticks) were also lukewarm. And we didn t have pool chairs so we had to sit on a wall near the pool to eat our food as we sat looking at all the empty chairs!!!

Parking at night was an issue too. We left the property for dinner when it was still day light and were parked in the surface light. When we returned, it was dark and the surface lot was filled and we needed to park in the underground garage. The signage for this garage is extremely hard to find given how dark it is and finding a spot was difficult too. And again, no one told us about this underground garage either when we checked in, not the front desk or the bellman we had to find it on our own IN THE DARK!

We are faithful Marriott Bonvoy members and typically opt for Westin properties, however this experience has us re-evaluating.

Excellent service, especially Pedro at the front desk. Concierge very helpful with dinner suggestions. Beautiful property with all the amenities. Wonderful room with a cozy bed and large shower. Family friendly but also nice for an adults only getaway. We will definitely be back.

Rib eye was nice and tender and the shrimp and crab linguini was really good. Pricey though. Mushrooms were good too. Brussel sprouts need to be cooked more and seasoned better. The oxtail and crispy potatoe things were not bad but to expensive.

5 stars for being truly dog friendly! Our room had a large oceanfront balcony and the beach was super close. The beds were comfy and the room was clean and the hospitality abundant! We will be back. Thanks Sophie at front desk and all the kind staff.

Renovations almost completed and are very nice. Beautiful location on the perfect SC island. Only thing I can say to some of the reviewers below is you probably whine about everything. Nothing is perfect anywhere. Been coming for years and never saw a rat or had anyone rude except the out of state tourists who have yet to learn common courtesy. Yes it's a little pricey: welcome to Westin.

Room was definitely not worth 609 dollars a night. The view was nice but not THAT good. There were dead insects inside a decorative vase and it overall didn't really live up to much expectations. Definitely not 5 star worthy. No free breakfast, no indoor pool, there's a heated pool but it's outside and it wouldn't be wise to put little ones in it if the weather wasn't permitting. Such was the case during my visit.

Beautiful!!! I was greeted warmly the moment I pulled my car up all the way through the check in process. The personalization on the TV screen when you arrive in your room is also a nice touch and and hey with an ocean front view there isn't much to complain about. I will say I had to take away one star for how hard the beds were and that there is no microwave for me to heat up my leftovers. All in all it's not a deal breaker and I know where I will stay from here on when I take my escape from the world get aways.

Clean with lots of amenities. Great escape, multiple pools, very short walk to beach, towels, beach chairs, 3 restaurants with at least 2 kitchens, convenience shops, self parking underground, beautiful landscaping, not crowded even during high season (never waited for a table), live music aft/eve. As seen before with Westin properties, several maintenance issues (loose doorknobs and bathroom fixtures, elevators out of service). TV has LodgeNet, pricey but nice movie selection, though low quality picture. Carolina King room (lowest cost suite) has ample space, though no separate door for living area.

Disappointed with my first night here. I expect Westin s to follow suit no matter where I go! First time at Hilton Head and I feel it is under staffed! I have to beg for a drink at the outside bar...I have to wait for service at this inside restaurant...then I am told by the front desk manager, when I tell him all the hand towels in the main bathroom are out... to use another bathroom!!!! Very disappointed with my initial experience...hopeful it will get better with the amount of money I am spending!!!!!

My husband and I decided to take a 3 day getaway f...

My husband and I decided to take a 3 day getaway for the July 4 holiday. ...turns out that was a horrible idea. I had just stayed here with my daughter 2 weeks prior and had a nice stay. This time was a complete train wreck. As my husband is an Ambassador level with Marriott, he receives a few well deserved perks....not here.

We requested an early check in, 1pm instead of 4pm. I believe we finally got our room at 4:45. We used suite upgrades for our stay...for nothing. Our room was one of the furthest from ocean front. I asked the front desk about another room and they quickly and somewhat rudely let me know they were booked. In addition, the hotel itself is a little worn and in desperate need of updating.

The pool area is not policed AT ALL. People come out at 7am and place towels EVERYWHERE.. some never show up to use the space they rudely reserved for no reason. It was nasty around the pool area, so much so we did not get close to the pool much less get in.

Our room was not ONCE CLEANED during our 3 day stay, despite us calling the front desk to notify them. We also had to go to the front desk EVERY morning of our stay to have our room card reactivated..not a relaxing way to start your day... standing in line for 10 minutes to do something so absurd.

We looked at the same trash in the hallway on our floor for 3 days. We literally watched staff walk by it several times.

The staff overall was rude. They were clearly not adequately staffed for the holiday weekend. We did have a few nice servers, but definitely felt overall disappointment with our stay. I feel as though this resort is relying on its great location to carry them.

I went for spa services, I paid for a performance massage. During my massage, there was a loud drilling sound that kept occurring and it was not very relaxing at all. The massouse politely excused herself and found that it was the maintenance people doing some drilling and other things. She said that they were going to stop, and they did. However I began to hear hammering for the next 10 minutes after the drilling sounds. The massouse was very polite and professional, and the massage was top notch. The spa itself was very clean and accommodating and the staff were all great. I would give 5/5 but I only got to enjoy 30 minutes of my 50 minute massage.

A+ food and service. The property is nice, the building is a bit dated, but well taken care of. The pool area is not to large; main pool, and two small pools with cabanas for rent. There is an outdoor restaurant with a bar. The burgers and salmon sandwich are superb.

Parking is available, but limited. Valet is $17 a day.

Very kid friendly with an awesome beach very close to the resort.

Overall, strongly recommend.

Just checked out on Labor Day morning ...spent 8 nights here..overall quite pleased. The biggest PLUS to this place is that it s super dog friendly and has a great location directly on the beach. The pool area is lovely...
Our concerns:
- 1) we rented FirePit#2 and were really looking forward to our low key night of watching the sun set and having SMORES.. the appointed rental time frame was 5-10 pm ...about 8:30 we were relaxing by the fire and soaking in the sound of crashing waves when all of a sudden, we noticed shadows moving all around our feet..we pulled out our phone flashlights and immediately realized we were surrounded by Palmetto Bugs ( or where we come from, COCKROACHES!!). You can only imagine how fast we ran out of there!!! We cleaned up our SMORES and ditched the last 1.5 hours of our rental period...I mean, we couldn t stay and relax and enjoy our evening!!! I immediately called the front desk and told the young woman about the infestation..seemed like not a big deal to Her ..but it totally freaked us out!! All she said was she would have the area fumigated...no real apology or compensation offered!

-2)The VERY next day, my daughter was laying in bed and I noticed movement.. there was a HUGE PALMETTO BUG CRAWLING ON HER LEG!!!! It must have been in the bed!!!!!OMG!! We didn t feel like going through the effort of changing rooms , so we chalked it up to an isolated event and flushed it down toilet!!

-3)HOWEVER, the next night , about 10:30 pm, we were getting ready for bed and I heard loud screaming ...there was a MASSIVE PALMETTO BUG ( aka COCKROACH!!) crawling on the ceiling DIRECTLY above my daughters bed!!!!! This time, we knew we had to take action..so we called desk and spoke to Olivia, who was quite understanding..she offered to immediately move us to a room on a higher level...since it was now 11:30 pm, we took her up on her offer but decided to move early in the morning..we set our alarms ( something we didn t want to do on vacation)..and moved up to the 4 floor..NO FINANCIAL COMPENSATION OFFERED!!!

-4)This next event BLEW MY MIND!!! We have a 17.5 year old dog so she needs to go out frequently and usually several times throughout the night...I m used to it..this time it was 4:25 am.. I was basically asleep and forgot to grab my phone.. when I got to the outside staircase by the pool I realized there was group of ADULT men swimming and drinking around the coveted pool..it was 4:25 AM!!! I was a woman ALONE.. I immediately got a lump in my throat of fear ..I was alone and had no phone... I wAs used to using my phone as a flashlight each night bc the dog walk area is PITCH BLACK at night-NO LIGHTS AT ALL!!!! Moreover, the solar lights along the stone path , to the dog walk area, had burned out bulbs!!!! I can t tell you how creeped out I was knowing those drunk men were lurking out in the dark while I was alone in the pitch black dark of the night!!!!
I prayed they wouldn t bother me!!! Sure enough, when I got back to the entrance gate to the property,1 of the men WAS THERE WAITING FOR ME!!!! He just said, hey what s up ? But I can promise you, it terrified me!! All the other men had left and it was just this guy seemingly waiting for me at that exact gate!!! I just pushed the gate open and ran past him while carrying my dog!!! I got in my room and put all locks on the door!!!
In the morning I called and told the person at the desk my story, who assured me swimming was not permitted after 10 pm and that they had security personnel watching out for my safety on the property ...hmmmm??? Really??? Well where was security while a group of men partied and swam at 4:25 am???? Don t they have sec cameras on the property watching such behavior??? I told her that dog walk area is dangerously dark and that the bulbs along the path need replacing...she said she d discuss with maintenance and security ... that was Wednesday...it is now Monday..6 days later and STILL NO NEW BULBS !!!

Visited Hilton Head for the first time during Covid lockdown, but the hotel was open and so was their private section of the beach. The pools were closed which was a bummer, but overall the experience was good and we will go back. On negative was I booked an ocean front only to be downgraded to an ocean view as I was told the room I booked was full. However the manager did give us a nice ocean view room and they allowed us to check out late. Looking forward to going back when the pools are open.

Our first room had gnats or flies flying all over. Our second room was not cleaned very well and our beach view that we paid extra for was obstructed by buildings on either side. Getting in and out of the hotel was a long slow drive with poorly lit streets at night. The main floor amenities were great and the beach front was ok but all in all I was disappointed with the hotel and would likely not choose to stay here again.

This Resort is very nice. It is well decorated and has a very lovely pool and ocean area. The spa was very nice and my husband and I enjoyed our couple's massage. Our checkin was fast and the gentlemen at the front desk are quite pleasant. We were in a double queen room on the 4th floor with a very beautiful view of the pool and the ocean. However, the housekeeping service does need some improvements in quality of service. For example, when we arrived to our room the toilet appeared to be dirty and there was makeup on a pillowcase. They promptly offered to fix the issue or "upgrade" our room. However, the room that they moved us to smelled terrible and did not have a nice view (there was a large pile of debris directly in front of the room) so we agreed to move to our original room after the corrections were made. Hotel management did provide us a resort credit the following day. As well, housekeeping cleaned our room during our stay, but they did not provide us additional towels, cloths or soap (they removed our soap while cleaning). It was difficult to procure these items after the fact and we never received additional cloths or soap. My additional critique is that the resort seems to overcharge for almost all services and products. I forgot to pack a razor and purchased a pack of BIC razors in the on-site shop...the charge was almost $10. We also ate at the Carolina Room for breakfast one morning...the charge was $25 each for a mediocre buffet. In addition, we utilized room service for dinner one evening....the cost for a burger and fries was $17.50 + $3 delivery fee + 21% gratuity...then when the young lady delivered the burger she informed us that the gratuity charge went directly to the hotel so we had to tip her as well. Hello $30 cheeseburger!

Overall, the hotel made for a nice weekend and I would return again. With a few slight adjustments to service, I feel the hotel would have gained a 5 star review.

A great experience so far. Vanessa at check in was absolutely fantastic, as was Adam at view32. While everyone has made our experience special, they went above and beyond. Hotel location is very convenient with great beach access (even though I'd rather spend most of my time at one of the pools with an Eski Mojito). Only downsides - no reasonable breakfast prices (like $8 for a cup of fruit, $4 for coffee) and parking. I recommend the garage parking for convenience to the elevators but there are multiple leaky pipes overhead, so if you care about your car, I recommend you shop carefully for your spot down there.

Poor. For a Westin Franchise I was so disappointed in this hotel. Odors in the rooms, hearing rats while sleeping. Even overheard employees talking about rats in their kitchen. I refused to eat here and switched hotels. This hotel needs to be reported. Prices are too high especially for such a bad quality hotel

The location of this hotel was great. Loved the beach and pool areas, both were beautiful. I would probably have liked to have more opportunities for shade around the different pools as the only shady area was around a covered pool and the water was obviously colder than the rest of the pools. The rooms were nice enough except that we found a sharp piece of metal on the carpet where our baby was about to crawl and where we had been walking. It was brought to the attention of the front desk staff but they didn't follow up with us about the situation at all. Luckily nobody got hurt. The food we ate at the hotel was good overall.

While we were unable to carry out our wedding at The Westin Hilton Head Island due to Hurricane Matthew, we have much praise for Ashlee Fleming and her staff. Ashlee worked with us from the start, helping to meet our budget without sacrificing our wedding vision. She gave us options and provided her professional input and expertise to ensure our day would be perfect! Even in the midst of the storm, with her family and home at risk, she prioritized our needs and showed compassion for our loss. We highly recommend The Westin Hilton Head for your special event or just a casual stay. The hotel is beautiful, the food is delicious and the spa services offered are amazing! You will definitely be in good hands!

The view was beautiful from our ocean front room. The room was large and clean. The furniture is old and should be updated. Room service is a bit slow. Nothing was explained during check in as far as breakfast, or directions to the room. Parking is awful. Overall appearance of the hotel was welcoming.

The facility was nice, however, NO poolside food/drink service and the bike rental place, one hour after opening didn't have the electric bike and waited 20 mins, one person working, that's 20 of my life I'll never get back. No sure I would recommend this facility or return.

Not the best start. Valet could use some help on professionalism which is a big deal as they're your first impression. This was a polar opposite first impression from JW Marriott which was my last Marriott experience. So first impression wasn't the best. Beautiful location and facility though. The gentleman checking us in was very professional. I reserved and paid for a beach view suite which wasn't actually beach view. It did overlook the pool and cabanas and appears to be facing the ocean but not what was expected. We brought our dog which may have impacted our room. The room was large, clean and updated. I wake up very early to work, my impression was changed by Jerome J. who appears to be working night shift. He directed me to a nice place to sit for a few hours to work while my wife slept. He took it upon himself to bring me a cup of coffee at 4:30 in the morning. This small gesture is the only reason that I'm actually writing this review. The coffee was exactly what I needed.

So we have stayed here three times. All of the staff are wonderful, and the amenities are awesome. With that being said, this time it was a little different. Our room was on the fifth floor over looking the ocean, which the view was awesome. However our room needed some cleaning, there was a rag on the roof below us, which is not the norm. The hot tub was closed due to COVID, and the pools were closed one of the days we were there. That can t be avoided. Other than that we had a fantastic time, and really enjoyed our stay. Just wanted a transparent review for those who are interested
