Dated hotel, mold on balcony and no chairs to sit on balcony; curtains had bad odor, AC did not work well. Room stayed humid. Bathroom too small. Toilet seat loose. Not worth the money for what you get.
I thought our room was very clean the beds were very comfortable the lobby was fantastic and the employees were very polite and helpful
Very nice hotel.. Big.. great views.. wifi signal in room is weak..
Great view and location. Older hotel in good shape. Trolley comes to hotel every 30 minutes which is great for visiting downtown.
My sweet husband brought me here to celebrate my retirement. Elegant, beautiful.
We really enjoyed our stay here beautiful location and nice view over the smokey mountains and gaitlinburg
Pretty nice location up on the mountain. It's circular and very cool to look up from the hollow interior. Nicely done room. AC went out at 7 AM and left a burning smell. You need to get as high up as possible. We were on 6th floor and had a partial mountain view. Not much to speak of.
There is a restaurant, bar and lounge area in the lobby area. The standout is the pool. Zero entry and 1-ft deep pool for the kids. Deeper area for bigger kids and a great water slide. Hot tub as well. It's all in an enclosed area and was quite busy.
The staff was friendly and would stay again. Call early to get high up. Wife called rate was $134, called back just a little while later and it was almost $180. Don''t forget nearly $25 in associated taxes.
Enjoyed the view and beauty of the changing of the leaves during the Fall season.
Be aware...bad corrupted crew all the way from the reception thru the restaurant to the room service.......here is my experience:
The hotel is marvellous and the location wonderful ...BUT,we got there me ,my wife and two kids, were just passing by then decided to check in,were told NO VACANCY ,sold out...i sat in the car went online, there were many rooms available, I booked a room then got back with the confirmation #,she was shocked, as if she didn't know that there were rooms available.
Second: we ordered a room service ,two soups for $6.50 each..came up the check with $13.00 plus tax ,plus 3.40 service fee,PLUS $5.00 delivery ,yes $5.00 delivery( never heard of that before)....and the guy was expecting a tip also by looking at his behavior.
Third: went down to have the beautiful open buffet breakfast, finished paid the check and was about to check out ,then I looked at the check ,I discovered that they charged me as if my kids were adults, went back to the restaurant, they said SORRY ,it was a mistake ,the waitress thought that they were over 12 years old,of course they don't look even close to 12 years.......at the end ,I can understand the whole thing but the delivery thing fee!!!!!!
Facility is nice and they are wonderful with allowing pets. They don't seem to have clear dog waste disposable area or signs. The restaurant is expensive and underwhelming but it's an easy trolly ride to downtown to grab a bite.
We really enjoyed our stay here.Beautiful and comfortable over looking the city. The kids loved the pool with the slides
This was the best way to have our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary hands down!
We got married last year 10/19/2019 at "Chapel at the Park" and then had our Reception here at "Park Vista".
Since last year they have updated a lot of things.
Upon arrival Joan checked us in and was awesome! She even read the notes on her screen and said Happy 1 year Anniversary :-) she then gave us those delightful Double Tree cookies (you have to try them out if you do not have a nut allergy). We was then on the 14th floor in one of the updated rooms- EXCELLENT!!!
Our room overlooked the the City and the Mountains- Thumbs up!
The rooms was clean and had everything we needed. The rooms now come with shower instead of the bathtub. Because they are working in the rooms assumed that shower the hot water and shower pressure was not at it's best. Overall, we got cleaned and the hotel was everything!!! We ordered cookies to go because my family would have had a fit if we didn't come home with them but I don't blame them especially our son.
We then on our last night, came back to our room to a sweet heart cake and card. We was in tears. We was speechless.
We saved our cake for next year! We wrapped it up when we got home and put it in the freezer. Donsha and I have made a tradition starting this year and so that cake will help with part of that special moment we had on 10/19/19.
Christine Kohn is the BEST! She rocked it out at our Reception and while we was there. I was salty because the COVID has changed everything but Christine and Joan made it still special!
The hotel take all precautions with Covid with Hand Sanitizers and masks available for the guests during their stay (Can you imagine the money they are putting out to make sure we are happy and safe on top of upgrading the hotel)
In the future, I recommend having your Wedding/Reception and stay at Park Vista Hotel Gatlinburg you will not regret it. The way the rooms are being renovated is going to be breathtaking!!!
I love you Christine and Joan to the rest of the staff thanks you. To our Housekeeper Thanks for keeping everything clean and safe on our floors.
P.S.
If you see a review about bedbugs it's a lie! This hotel does not carry bedbugs and the woman just wanted her money back due to not having extra spending. Bedbugs are now COVID. The only bugs are the ones outside the balcony and they inform you these bugs are safe and for the environment. Beetles and Ladybugs during this time. The front desk will provide you enough information on these insects!!!
Other than that, enjoy your stay like we did. It was breathtaking and I will never forget what they have done for us! I wish we had more people like them in this world.
See you in the future PV!
MR. & MRS. PITTS
Just checked it out $265 a night is excessive amount for a place undergoing renovations.
It was very nice are room was on the 9th floor had amazing mountain view the pool was nice
We just loved this hotel!!! Its also great for the kid's!!! The pool is great!!
Good place to stay. Staff was nice. And the trolley took us to where we wanted to go.
Great stay! Go for the mountain view rooms, well worth it! Firefly restaurant onsite is great also.
Undergoing renovations which will make the experience even better. Best views in Gatlinburg.
A very pleasant stay, there home made Chocolate chip cookies are worth returning for...yummy
I was there for my brothers reception and the service was really bad the food was good
Beautiful scenery! Love the pool and workout area - such a neat environment! Just wish it wasn't so cold. Will have to come back
Nice rooms, but didn't like the fact our rooms should have been ready at 4, showed up at 5, and they said, "we're too busy". Asked us to come back in an hour, and we still didn't have a room available until 6:30.
Very nice hotel, pool area is awesome and rooms have great views.
Nice and comfortable hotel. Only complaint is the wi-fi is terribly weak and doesn't like to pick up on devices in the room, at least on floor 10 anyway
Disappointed with this DoubleTree hotel. Hilton hotels have always been a go to brand but it seems that this one misses the mark. The bed was super uncomfortable, there was a chirping and wind noise in our room on the first floor and I found makeup on the pillows when we first checked in.
When I went to the front desk in the morning to ask for a refund for my nights stay since sleep did not happen because of the uncomfortable accommodations I was argued with and told that I did not give them an opportunity to fix it so I did not deserve a refund. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one in and they would not be back until Monday (two days from the day I was there).
Really disappointed in the disrespect and lack of understanding from the staff. I feel like a customer should be treated in a more kind and understanding manner.
This place had the best views and the location couldn't of been better. The pool was very nice.
Many broken items in the room. The cost outeeighed the amenities. Good place for a wedding reception though.
Beautiful place to stay with wonderful amenities. Rooms are well furnished and comfortable. Work out facilities are modern and clean.
The biggest need I had was not met. I needed WiFi but service was terrible. Solution was to go to the lobby... I cant make kids in bed go to the lobby... pool was great. Room was lovely. Would have been 5 stars otherwise!
Very nice and clean place. A little dated but great.
Hotel was nice, no real complaints. Not much in rooms, mountain view was amazing.
The Park Vista is a beautifully designed 15-story tall hotel on the outskirts of downtown, Gatlinburg, TN. The hotel sits atop a large hill, which aesthetically is kind of nice, but it also gives you a bit of a disconnected feeling from the rest of Gatlinburg, as it's inadvisable to walk down the large hill and walk into the downtown. Instead, you can wait for a trolley to that comes every half hour to bring you to the downtown area (about a 5-10 minute drive), or you can drive, but there is no free parking in Gatlinburg, which makes things a bit frustrating. Location aside, this is a beautiful, beautiful hotel, and the views can't be beat. All rooms come with a balcony, so the higher up you are the more visual splendor you'll see. My father and I stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a little bit pricey, but it's worth the price for a short stay. Proximity to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and downtown Gatlinburg is excellent.
I fully expected this to be an amazing little weekend getaway to this hotel. Unfortunately it fell short of that. The elevator made alot of creaks and moans on the way to the top floor where we were located. Everything in this place seems to be dated back to when it was built. Alot of the lights were crooked and the walls cracked. The air filter in the bathroom was full of dirt and dust. It seemed the room was quite small in comparison to the king suite at the Holiday Inn Express we usually stay at. The view was nice from the balcony. There were lady bugs in the curtains and beds. Fast forward to the next morning. My daughter and I routinely get breakfast together at hotels when we stay. So we made our way downstairs and enjoyed a fairly mediocre hotel breakfast nothing to exciting to talk about here until, the waitress brings us a bill... A $45 bill. Ok I have never in my life paid for breakfast at a hotel. and being that there is no price on the menu for breakfast I assumed this would be the same. This was the last straw I was already done with this hotel but still had another night to stay there. I wasn't as tired the last night but was kept up by strange humming and banging mechanical sounds all throughout the night. I was extremely disappointed in this hotel and learned that just because it says "Hilton" doesn't mean its any better than the Holiday Inn Express hotels that I love. The staff was nice.
Beautiful place great for adults and kids. Very relaxing
Nice rooms. Great view of Gatlinburg and surrounding mountains. Close to town but no easy way to walk down from hotel. Paid trolley is available.
This hotel is old but so is everything in Gatlinburg. The housekeeping staff was terrible at service. I stayed here for 2 nights. After coming in late both nights, it was exceptionally frustrating to find no sheets or blanket for the sofa bed for my child and the room not having clean towels. When gone all day out and about, the last thing I want at 9pm is no clean towels. So both nights I had to call the front desk. This hotel is in dire need of remodeling! The decor is old. Check in also took quite a while. The line was several people deep. One nice thing is the view and the trolley stop at the hotel. The pool is also a great kid feature with the water slide.
Started well but ended badly. First a room service tray sat out next to our room for Three days no one picked it up after we told the front desk serveral times. Then the price I was quoted by Hilton honors resv. Agent was incorrect and she knew we had a dog, but didn't didn't advise of the additional cost. Waiting for GM to get back in town next week to work it out.
So far very nice. Beautiful view, room is nice before
Bed and pillows awesome. They upgraded us to even a better room 16th floor view of the smokies. Lovely balcony. Staff very helpful. We'll be here a couple of days. I'll keep posting.
Based on all the 5-star reviews, we thought we would stay here for a family weekend. Overpriced, old property, some staff were rude. Or room had mold, dust, cobwebs and dirty bedding. The pictures show the condition of the room. One star for the view.
Came here to get married, room was nice. The breakfast was terrible and cost us $33. We wil not eat here again. Bartender Marina was awesome!!
Love the view and they have awesome pools (indoors) with slides. Great business amenities, food and service.
Have stayed here several times without a single complaint. Rooms clean, restaurant good, service friendly, and nice views.
The Hotel itself is Beautiful, we were on the 3rd floor and we still got an amazing view. The Hotel is very Clean and Classy the Rooms were Clean and very fancy. The service was great, we left our Do Not Disturb in the door and around 3pm we got a call asking if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone that can afford it.
Room had hair everywhere, guest next door passed out in front of our room. The had bowel movement on the floor in front of his door. The manger did make it better by getting it cleaned up and gave us a extra night free.. They made it right!!!
Very dog friendly with a nice, clean room. I didn t realize quite how far it was from town but they had a trolley service which worked out well. Breakfast was $15, which seemed a bit much. It was fine overall but for the price I d rather be near town. There aren t enough chairs to take in all the views at night and everything was very crowded so it didn t feel like much of a resort feel since the amenities weren t usable.
Amazing views, nice place.
Despite being an old building (I stayed here in 1982 for the World's Fair in Knoxville when it was a Ramada) it's held up well. The elevators are suitably fast. I think the A/C in the room was not working properly but the weather was so nice that we kept the balcony door open all the time anyways so we never really noticed.
The only complaints I have is that 1) the wireless was hit or miss at best (fortunately there's Verizon 3G mobile hotspot!) and
2) the breakfast buffet was overpriced at best (but then so is most everything else in town) and several items that should have been hot (or at least warm) were not.
All of that said, it's a nice place. The views from the upper floors are spectacular. It's far enough away from "the strip" to be quiet and close enough to be only minutes away from everything. As a previous poster commented, the road leading to the hotel is very steep. I can see it being a real challenge in the winter and covered with ice/snow unless it's regularly sanded. Wet is no problem it rained a few times while we were there and didn't seem slick at all.
Amazing.. amenities are everything. Cool cirular building with glass elevators. Paino player at night in lobby. Indoor pool with 2 slides. Restaurant was top notch for breakfast. Got room service for supper. Salmon was perfect! Has a patio with fireplace right next to the bar. Impressed and I will be coming back
Nice but more expensive than I thought. It was my girlfriend and 3 of our kids. The pool was open til midnight which was nice. I liked the views.
Awesome property and naturally peaceful. Just beware of black bears!
This is our place to stay in Gatlinburg. Comfy. Good restaurant downstairs.
Great location, tremendous potential for a property. It s old and needs a facelift. Rooms are ok... just dated. Lobby was nice. Staff was nice and accommodating. Kids loved the pool.
Good service and clean rooms. The trees were beautiful and we saw almost no damage from the wildfire anywhere.
Thanks for being a pet friendly hotel. (All rooms) it was last minute to come to Gatlinburg. I googled place to stay that was pet friendly. Park Vista came up first. Call got a room. Love the balcony look over the city.
Room was clean but a little dated. Bathroom is very small. Views are very nice.
Wow. Was going to give a 4 star review for some minor things....room not dusted- , sticky residue on bureau....plates and towels left outside room for over 24 hours. But dealt with promptly when asked. However while checking out ran into and extremely rude employee. Came into elevator without mask , made it crowded and when I asked about social distancing was told it s too hard and that COVID was no worse than the flu and a political ploy. I mentioned I was a nurse who worked with COVID patients and he replied believe what you want ...and when I left elevator said she s one of those . He was not wearing a name tag but was pushing a towel cart. Bright blue shirt and neck scarf. Will never stay here again and will encourage my fellow health care providers to avoid as well. Extremely disappointed in my experience.....those comments ruined my stay and my attempt at rejuvenation. I did describe employee to front office staff.
My family and I stayed here for a destination wedding. I think its safe to say that we all enjoyed staying here. The rooms were very large with a spacious desk area and large bathrooms. The beds were super comfortable and the balconies had great views no matter where you were. The room service and restaurant were very delicious but a bit pricey as you could expect. The staff wasn't the most helpful or friendly, but at a busy hotel it was sort of expected. Wish they would've been more helpful but thats okay. The location is nice for scenery, but if you plan on going to the strip often its a bit inconvenient. You either have to take the trolly or drive as walking would be nearly impossible. The trolly was a hassle for us as we had a large group of people and it stops running at a fairly early time.
Beautiful scenery and very nice accommodations at a great price ! I highly recommend this hotel !
Love it. Really nice staff, awesome pool. The only thing that they need to improve on is the balcony.
Paint on a Pig. The rooms are NOT updated for convenience of charging phones. No updated appliances. The furniture is scuffed up. The bathroom is terribly SMALL. There is no information pamphlets in the room at all for the tv, etc... the More
From now on this will be our Gatlinburg vacation hotel. Beautiful views, clean, very friendly staff. We've been vacationing as a family in the smokies for 20 years now, our needs have changed as the kids got older. We have went from cabins in Townsend and Gatlinburg to staying in Gatlinburg hotels primarily in the past few years just to be close to everything for the kids. This hotel hit every checkmark for us, and we can't wait to visit again next year.
Very nice accomodations. Great place to come back to at the end of the day, with amazing views. Feels separated from the rest of town, but still very accessible and close.
The ceiling in the room was falling apart. We ordered breakfast, the food was fine but gave us dirty coffee cups and the tray sat outside our room all day as a matter of fact it's 8:16 pm and the tray is still there. The clerk complained about fellow employees upon check in. Normally it's a great place to stay but, this time they are off their game. Probably won't be back.
Now this is a cool hotel! A Hilton property that is a must visit. Cheers!
This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at where I have no complaints! This was the most beautiful property. The pool was perfect for my 3 year old. We stayed on a Wednesday and we had the pool to ourselves every time we went. Service was amazing from every staff member. Beds were comfortable. Balcony has an amazing view and completely private. Loveee the free warm cookies! We bought breakfast in the morning and it was really good. Honestly can t recommend this place enough.
We love, love, love The Park Vista. Stayed 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Hope to return someday but if not, thanks for the memories.
Nice place to stay but a touch pricey, the buffet dinner is usually wonderful but at 6 p.m. on Christmas day, it looked less than great. It appeared as if they were just waiting till 7 to tear it down. Lots of last scraps in the serving pans. Not appealing to pay 35 dollars a plate for. But we have been here before and it was fantastic, I hope the management will improve this part of the experience. Other than the dinning experience, it was wonderful.
Very nice hotel with great views. Will be back again!
Stayed two nights at this hotel. First night the coffee maker didn't work, the second night couldn't get more pillows or towels. Pool was dirty and never got clean during the time we were here; crusty on the bottom, boogers on the top. Finally we were ready to leave, tried to get a luggage cart and the resident bell hop snatched and said that was his cart and to go get your own. No free coffee, no free breakfast or internet only a cookie at the time of arrival. The only place you can walk around this hotel is on parking lot because the hotel doesn't have any outdoor gardens and you have to be careful that the trolley or the cars parking won't run over you (parking is a nightmare). We were on the 14th floor, the elevators are slow at best. Don't waste your money, we paid $150 a night during the work week. I would have attached pictures of the trash cans that were never emptied but it won't let me up load it. Find better spot.
Great ballrooms and gathering places for events. Outdoor spots as well
Hotel was clean and comfortable, excellent service. We enjoyed a mountain view suite with king bed, and separate room with twin bunks for the kids. We also enjoyed fresh cookies every night of our stay. The showers are nice, clean, updated. No housekeeping but they kept us stocked with towels and toiletries. I am giving it 4 stars only because the hotel has recently started to cater to pets. Dogs barking at 11pm is not cool. Our biggest concern was we were waiting at the elevator and off comes a couple with a rottweiler. Yes, a 60 lb rottweiler! The dog saw she was my 8 year old was scared and barked and lunged at her. How is this ok?
Poor wifi internet, not much selection for household amenities available.
