Left today afa. They have bed bugs. Staff techs trying to sleep with patients. Disorganized and very poorly managed. During my stay alot of employees left because it is ran horrible. Literally had my counselor tell me I know you dont need Iop but my boss says I have to recommend it for everyone. Nothing but a pyramid scheme they try to get 28 days rehab 2 weeks php 10 weeks iop and then gop for every one to keep you trapped in the system and suck your money oh and the review by John krombar directly below mine. He is actually a employee there . He is a counslor. Fake review

I have had several family members in and out of rehab since I can remember, in the 70's! Lucky me! My brother is currently at Livengrin and I just attended "Day of Enlightment" and had a visit with him. First of all the first time my brother called me to let me know he could have visitors he said, "I love it here!" First time I every heard anyone in rehab say they Loved it! He said he felt safe, the people where so nice and the other patients were great. He immediately formed friendships with others and relationships with the staff. The Day of Enlightment was the best I ever attended. It was so informative and right on point. Dana was so knowledgeable and kept that 3 hour meeting moving along. My brother was so excited to share with me his typical day and some of the activities they had him working on. I am a nurse with 30 years of experience, they wasted no time working with my brother, talking about issues, uncovering fears, resentments and his addiction. Thank you to everyone at Livengrin Foundation!! Top notch!!

Kelly Urban! You are RIGHT !! Absolutely NO Customer or Client Service , no return calls but My experience was worse than that ... Need Help ? Get it ..but NOT HERE !! This place is a Money Machine and thats the bottom line. Listed as "Not for profit" with millions in assets & liquid dollars ... No MD, I was told AFTER the fact " we are not a hospital" . "Nurses "only . to many with such poor attitudes and no manners . I was given WRONG Medication that helped send me to ICU on life support 16 days ago ! Then told " they saved you " ..bull. I go back before knowing what really happened to me .. and I was refused my breathing med for night and given wrong one again by "nurses" choice. I had to leave , with heart palpitating a 2 min walk took 10 to get to the front office . I was refused use of phone to call my wife & family or a cab in all areas until I finally got up front and had to talk my way into using the phone to call a cab after being told " No, You can't use my phone".. More later , but Livengrin is a disgrace as far as I am concerned , they do not call you back , look up other reviews online. I had to do some "research " to find a few phone numbers that finally after 4 days put me in touch with the CEO, COO, Shrink and ALL Refused to listen. They took over $1900 from my wifes Credit Card, ( We want a refund , they refuse as of now ) Refund for poor service , poor med staff & more . They are so bad I wouldnt leave an animal here and we have been in Rescue over 10 years . Post for more info. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE and avoid the " fundraisers " they don't need the money with over 12 million in cash , VERY well paid CEO, COO etc ( Underpaid staff except the Nursing staff deserves "0$ " . Check out the state of PA records of this facility , they failed aprox 13 out of 15x for one reason or another . THIS IS WELL DESERVED and as true as I can write it. There is more but I will leave it at this for now . Disgraceful !! I was never seen by a Dr but given Diuretics that put me into Kidney Failure on Dialysis , lifer support & in the ICU !!! Then I went back ( stupid me) when released from hospital after 10 days and the lousy unskilled Nurses REFUSED to give me my correct breathing inhaler for nighttime. I walked out . See them in court .

Called to try and get help for a family member in need. Spoke to the most obnoxious person you could imagine. I asked over and over if they had a therapist on staff to help with metal health and the only run around answer I could get is I need to get my family member to call in for them to tell us if she's a good fit for them. Like they are the only business in town. HELLO I am calling to screen you and 100 other places to find the best fit for a loved one and you gave me more run around story's then my drug and alcohol addicted family member. Extremely rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. I would highly recommend calling Lighthouse recovery which was WAY more helpful, professional, and understanding.

I went here in 2012 and it was a great facility. I learned a lot about my addiction alcoholism. The staff was very good and made me feel welcome. I'm forever grateful for this place. Very kind and friendly staff and made the difference. I would suggest this place to anyone that wants to get clean and sober.

I am the Executive Director of a local non profit that helps people with addiction problems seeking treatment. Yesterday we had a young opiate addict seeking treatment and we used Livengrin for the first time. I want to personally thank MiKe Berndt for going out of his way after hours to help us. Also Patrick in admissions went out of his way and stayed at work till 1:00 AM to insure our girl was safe. Very impressive organization and one that we will be using often in the future. Thanks for your help in saving a life

This was my 5th treatment center over the last 20 yrs , and it was the worse experience of my life, From start to finish. I left after 7 days, and when I told them I was leaving they wouldn't even let me sit in Admissions to set up a ride they called police to drive me to a bus stop at 7am.but it was ok to sit their for 3 hrs waiting to get admitted. I never seen a doctor
My entire stay and wasn't administered medication I went in their with. They have the most ridiculous rules every time I turned around staff was telling me I couldn't do something.the food was horrible and you ate at 5pm and didn't eat again till breakfast. They had me on trazadone and subetex then accused me of being hi in the middle of the night and made me leave my room to be strip searched by females and take a urine! I told . them I had back problems in the past so they banned me from all activities, when the worst thing for me is to sit still in air condition all day. Its my understanding that they recently had a massive lay off and hired all new people for lower wages , and it shows because nobody their knows what there doing. Your forced to get out of bed at 630am even if your not feeling good or told you'll be kicked out. We pay way to much money to be treated like criminals.

I saw all the reviews about this place but my son still chose to come to give it a chance 2 nights ago. I'm not into bashing places or people. I will say that most of what the negative reviews are saying is true.. My son had a horrible experience here to the point he left a day later. I spoke to a night detox counselor to check on my son because he was ready to leave and the counselor was very very disrespectful to me. There are some nice counselors there, but the information they gave me was incorrect. One counselor did help and went out her way to make my son comfortable.. But one thing I want to say is when people are far from home and feeling sick and withdrawing, they need all counselors to at least talk to them with respect. That one male counselor and one nurse might want to change their profession if they are frustrated and don't know how to treat everyone with respect.

Went there from a hospital, with all issues, including financial and otherwise preplanned. Tragically, mid way through the admission process some lady from the business office had me summoned to here office and would not allow me to be admitted. For a non-profit foundation that makes no sense. I had to return to Florida, and continue the search. I DO NOT suggest this program at all. It is seemingly all about money, with no regard for a desperate person (me) seeking help.

Livengrin was amazing, their staff were kind, caring , and supportive. They have a great facility. Livengrin was able to change my life, in a way I did not think was possible. The supportive counselors, and PCC staff made my treatment well worth while. Thank you Livengrin!!

And working on her 12 steps. I have to give alot of credit to livengrin and all the staff. Would definetely recommend this place.

I wanted to take my time and look at all the reviews before writing my own. I am surprised at some of the comments I've seen. I was admitted to Livengrin on 3/26 and completed my stay on 4/25. I can honestly say that Livengrin gave me no reasons to complain. They saved me life.
I've visited other sites before but my experience at Livengrin was amazing. Everyone from admissions, staff techs, patient care coordinators, nursing, counselors and even staff from the kitchen were all wonderful, caring, and kind. I came into this facility emotionally broken and if it weren't for the big hearts that each of them displayed while I was there, I don't know where I would be at right now, let alone, competent enough to even write this review.
Truth be told, the people in the rehab community I saw that might have a complaint would be the ones that did not really want to be treated. I was able to get a general view of who truly wanted to recover and those that just were going through the motions. I pray for all of them. Recovery is something that you would have to do on your own and Livengrin provides the resources and the tools to GUIDE you back to that road. I am happy to say that I'm on that path thanks to them again and it's going to be up to me to stay on it. I am forever grateful to have been admitted to this facility and to have crossed paths with everyone in there. I look forward to now joining their Alumni Association and coming back one day to inspire hope for the next group that wants to recover.

Had a terrible experience here. Counselors were very hard to pin down for treatment and my family and I werr seriously mislead about how my treatment was being managed. As I have sought further treatment I was told by experts at those centers that they do not recommend Livingrin to their patients. Go somewhere else!

January 6,1982 I entered Livengrin ! I was scared of the unknown as my loving wife and friend dropped me off! This was the warmest , most welcoming experience of my life ! In three weeks I grasped the 12 steps of AA under the loving "drill instructor" direction of Joe Barna ! Celebrated 35 years of sobriety this past January ! I owe it to God, AA, my wonderful spouse and the formative experience of LIVENGRIN ! Thanks !

I went here 6 or 7 years ago for court ordered DUI stuff which worked great got the right treatment but a warning after reading toris review white deer run anywhere is Baby killers and nearly killed my fiance she went to rehab knowing that she was prego again they gave her the wrong meds full well knowing she was pregnant. She was siezuring and woke up by blood by day 3 and they refused to give her a pregnancy test because I'm sure they knew they killed the baby. They didn't do anything that night about her blood stained sheets or give her clean underwear. Its the worst rehab ever avoid white deer run.

I was admitted to Livengrin in April 2017. From the first step in the door I was greatly cared for. The detox nurses have an EXTREMELY tough job and I felt they always gave me the best care and treated me with respect. The clinical director tried so hard to work with my probation officer to not violate me and send me upstate. Needless to say, I was extremely upset over this news and the clinical staff worked with me and help me cope with this news. By the time I left I was accepting of my future. I learned alot. So many times in recovery we lose ourselves so much, we don't know how to get it back. Livengrin helped me regain structure. Getting up, making your bed, keeping a clean room all plays into recovery. They were always respectful to my family and my now husband at family visits. They helped them understand addiction and what I needed. I owe my life to Livengrin. Everyday after lunch, I'd go out into the Serenity Garden and meditate. The program there is amazing. Thanks to Livengrin I now have 26 months sober, working at a rehab, custody of my kids back and happily married. Recovery does work if you WANT IT!!!! Thank you LIVENGRIN for giving my family back their daughter, wife and mother! I'd love to come back and share my story!!!

Ok, so maybe i didn't love it from day one. I was not used to people telling me where i needed to go, and when. And i certainly wasn't used to LISTENING to them! But after a while, i realized that doing what i wanted was getting me nowhere but into a downward spiral. And when I finally stopped fighting, and started following directions, i realized that the staff there ALL wanted me to get well, and really cared about me. In my experience, the patients who thought that this was their private country club and wanted to run their own show, were the ones who got pissed off and bolted treatment. Frankly, that just helped those of us who really wanted to be there and get well. It's been four months since i got out of Livengrin, and 2 months since i finished my outpatient treatment. Yeah, going to meetings 3 or 4 times a week is a drag sometimes, but it is what keeps me clean today--almost 5 months without a drug or a drink and happier than i have been since i can remember!

Livengrin is a good drug and alcohol treatment center focusing on group treatment. Ins cos tend to pay for IOP Treatment which helps a lot but the staff is not run by psychologists or psychiatrists anymore and clinicians in recovery are best when they also hold these degrees to better appreciate the interrelated factors of mental health and substance use. Livengrin is intricately connected to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous in that Livengrin is a 12-step facilitation treatment program. This is generally a good thing but it is not the only evidenced based treatment and approaches like Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention are sorely missing. I have had clients admitted for group treatment where they were not appropriate for the group and were assigned to group conditions without adequate individual therapy so if you're going to start an IOP like Livengrin or Rehab After Work you should definitely also find a better outside individual addiction psychologist. I've had clients turned away because they were on the medication Suboxone for opiate maintenance as prescribed by an addiction psychiatrist because the therapists didn't understand how to work with patients from an evidenced based harm reduction orientation. The requirements for being a primary therapist have waned over the years and I know no psychologists who work there. Many of the certified addiction counselors are not masters level. I still feel it's one of the better games in town for Intensive Outpatient group therapy. I would just recommend that you get a thorough work up with your addiction psychologist/psychiatrist first to see whether you'd benefit from individual vs group treatment and if group is the way to go then which form of group treatment is the best for you. I came to Livengrin, not by choice, in 2010. I had been to Livengrin before, along with a dozen other rehabs in the area. Livengrin's varied educations and family involvements are exactly what I needed. There was just a vibe that I never experienced in any other treatment facility. I wanted that vibe. I wanted that kind of recovery. I followed what they told me, and my life got better. Livengrin introduced me to the 12-step fellowship that I now call "home" and I COULD NOT BE MORE GRATEFUL! Thank you Livengrin!

I have a close friend that recently admitted herself to this rehab. I was excited for her journey to recovery at Livengrin because a long time ago, my grandfather went to rehab there. After visiting my friend twice and speaking to her everyday on the phone, I have to say I am severely disappointed in this rehab facility. My friend had to pay $3000 upfront before being admitted on top of what her insurance is paying. The facility itself isn t anything nice or special. The main building and furniture is outdated and there are very few activities for the patients and their visitors to do. The rehab is very understaffed and when I went to visit my friend on Labor Day, their picnic was basically ran by the patients. Staff is hardly around to be seen. There are significantly more men than there are women patients which is fine, except for the fact that my friend felt VERY unsafe while staying there. Several men hit on her regularly to the point where other male patients had to look out for her during her stay. The staff is completely aware of this. Drugs are unfortunately snuck into the facility often and I m not surprised by the fact that there are no patient searches and I was never even asked to show ID when visiting!!! The staff did not make any attempt to help my friend with keeping her job which was a HUGE stress for her while being there and even though she made several attempts to contact her counselor and coordinator, they ignored her on almost all accounts. She didn t even have access to a phone to try and solve her work issues herself without being cut off every 10 min. According to my friend, the meetings they had daily were repetitive and thrown together . By the time my friend was ready to leave (2 weeks in), she hated it there and ended up resenting the fact that she admitted herself to Livengrin which is a complete shame. If you are seeking rehab treatment for yourself or a loved one, I would NOT recommend Livengrin. They are very money driven and understaffed. Explore other options!

If I could give zero stars I would. They told me they had dual diagnosis program. I was there for PTSD and alcohol treatment. They only push the alcohol treatment and had nothing to address the PTSD which is why I started drinking in the first place. My counselor Joe was less than professional and gave my treatment information to my ex wife. Joe you should not be working, you violated every privacy act available and made me look like a criminal. Because of you I've not seen my children in over a year from your blatant disregard for truth.
Many individuals left when I did for lack of PTSD treatment and out right lies by the staff. I would not recommend this facility at all. Joe, you should be fired and forced into another profession. It's all about the mighty dollar and filling beds to maximum capacity for this place. Anyway I found help elsewhere for my PTSD. Do your research people and take reviews seriously and save yourself the waisted time and energy.

It worked for me. I recommend Livengrin to all that listen. The ONLY time in my life I've ever enjoyed being 100% clean and sober.
The staff techs are, mostly, ex-addicts in recovery. Compassionate, not easily bullshitted, and always have your well-being at the forefront. Their stories moved me deeply.
The food was fresh, inventive, healthy, and on time. The food staff were awesome and sweet people, always.
The maintenance crew were positive and always busy.
The counselors were upbeat, capable and readily willing to get at the heart of your situation and stay there.
All of them showed me the way.
It's the safest I've ever felt in my life.
My family and I are forever grateful.
That's my story.

If I could give it less than one star, I would. This place scammed me out of $2250 knowing that charity care would have been an option. This place is in cahoots with other programs and is in it for money rather than improving the lives of their clients. There are plenty of staff members in there that really should find another profession, or should seek treatment themselves, as they are unfit to work in mental health and feed the stigma that we have been trying so hard to overcome. Please, if you are seeking treatment, go somewhere else!!! Also, the healthcare provider group is just a scam to get more clients.

I've come to the conclusion none of these places actually want family or friends involved. I found out my friend was in after missing one of her limited calls. I call and find out the next stupid enlightenment is Wednesday night. I'm a night shift worker and living an hour away. Really not realistic. Guess if I knew earlier I could have driver one hour after work and sat for 2 hours.
You would think support is important and they
would offer a more realistic orientation and/or offer it at a larger variety of times. Unfortunately, most mental health and drug addiction type stuff runs this way as no one believes the patient in these situations, so these places can do whatever they want.

They have given me the tools that have helped change my life! I would recommend them to anyone. The counselors were very helpful and always available. The Techs & nursing staff were great and always hands on, helpful, kind and courteous. When completing my program, I was prepared to leave but knew I'd miss the staff...and I do. It's good to have Facebook to keep in touch.

This place is beautiful, yes, but i had a horrible experience. I was 3 months pregnant when I went in but had no idea because I was only worried about using. State regulations state that facilities that medically detox women within child bearing years MUST test them before starting detox and educate them on their options and what would be best. They NEVER told me I was pregnant. They medically detoxed me with subutex and didn't test to see if I was pregnant. They were also just starting the renovations to the detox area while I was there (March 2015) and someone asked a tech how they can afford this after just building the resident houses, the techs reply was "the heroin epidemic, we are rolling in money from you guys".... As true as that may be, its a disgusting thing to say to a patient in your facility. Now I've been an addict for 5 years before coming here and had been in and out of rehabs but this was the first time I was so disgusted with a place. I clearly know I have a problem, they told me after being reviewed and talked to, they didn't feel I needed long term treatment and that a 5 day detox was good enough! I looked at my councelor in disgust and told her no I can't be sent back out their I'm telling you I will pick up again I need longer treatment I have a disease! Her response was "give yourself more credit, you can do this but if you feel like you're going to pick up again call us and we will see what we can do!" I laughed and said okay. The day after I left I used, overdosed, went to white deer run allenwood and found out I was pregnant. Have been trying to talk to someone their about why I wasn't tested, no one could call me back. They are a joke. I just thank God my son is perfectly fine and happy and healthy! Thanks for nothing livengrin!!
