I scheduled maintenance because my car was having trouble starting, intermittently. It was also having the cruise control randomly shut off and some other strange electrical problems. I had an 8:00 am appointment. I called at 3:00 pm as I was wondering why I had not heard what was wrong. They told me that it usually took an hour to find out and I scheduled an 8:00 am appointment because I thought that the unusual problem might take an unusual amount of time to fix.

Turns out they had not looked at it by 3:00 and then when I said I was going to need my car back that day before 6:00 they decided to go ahead and look. The advisor, TJ Weston, then called me and said that my cam shaft sensor was unplugged and they fixed it. I told him that I had just replaced the cam shaft sensor 6 months earlier and that sensor had something wrong with it because the guy who owned the care prior to me had replaced it as well. He said that it was definitely the problem.

I drove the car about 1/2 a mile from the dealership and the engine light turned back on. I went back in and explained why I was upset. Then, as I was turning my car back on it again turned over and over and wouldn't start.

They charged me $70. They wasted my time, my money, and my patience, and wouldn't give a refund.

I came in a few days ago and works with Jonathan Ribble. To start he is the least professional sales person I have ever worked with. He was very rude and talk down to me when I ask a question. He made it very clear that I was a bother and he had better things to do. I will not be return to Stew Hansen ever. They are like a car lot from the 80 s and treat you as such. I need two vehicles but I refuse to do business with these shysters.

Fair in pricing, knowledgeable staff (Oscar and Orlando) are the best to work with. Anytime we are in to service our vehicle, they greet you with a big smile. Fresh popcorn for the kiddos, and during the summer they grill every Saturday- so while you wait for your oil change, have a burger, chips and drinks just as a thank you for doing/continuing to do business with them. El Hadji was very professional while we worked with him on purchasing our 2013 Dodge Journey. However, because of two other staff members that we had to deal with, our experience turned sour. We did purchase the vehicle; we both enjoy it. However, after having the vehicle home for three days, the entire communication center quit. This was my first stop when shopping for a new car. I didn't have an exact model or make in mind but the sales man, Alex Web, did a great job at matching me up with a nice SUV. After shopping around for a few days, we wound up back at Stew Hansen and I left with that exact 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had a great experience with the financial side of things too. They worked late to make sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend this dealership.

I am treated like a VIP whether it is buying a car, servicing my vehicles or buying parts from the parts department. I am most impressed with them when things go wrong and they respond in a professional manner. I have always treated them with the respect that you would expect and they have responded in kind. Took my 2011 Dodge ram to Stew hansens for recall work. Truck isnt perfect by long shot and rust starting to show on lower rockers, but while there getting worked on someone who works at that facility kicked out a hole in lower rocker panel below the door yet above running board. SEE pic below. Then after being told it basically doesn't matter to them if an employee damages a vehicle, they are a joke and i wouldn't take or refer in any way anyone to them ever again. Stew Hansen should be ashamed of themselves.REPLY...Why on earth would I want speak to someone again who had absolutely no regret or concern that someone who worked there damaged a customer vehicle, and basically accused me of doing the damage myself? I welcome a phone call/vm from your general manager or owner. You have my #.

I believe reviews are for the benefit of the consumer mainly, if this dealership acknowledges my review and comments I will be surprised.
As a first time car buyer I really am disappointed with the sales staff, and acting GM, Jim here. The Finance Department and Service Department (Mike) were great to work with.
To begin I purchased a 2013 Chrysler 200 with 32,000 miles on it. After I signed the paperwork, left with the car, got home and noticed that I was missing a back floor mat. Contacted Shad (salesman) he said he would get one to me. After driving it for about a week it seemed like the transmission was slipping on it. I contacted my salesman, Shad Clayton immediately. He had me get in touch with who he told me was the Service Manager, Mike. Mike requested I bring the car in, we went for a drive and he noticed the problem I had explained to him. They kept the car for a couple days, and come to find out it WAS the transmission slipping, the car required a new transmission (or rebuilt). I immediately began to wonder why a 3 year old car that I just bought had to have this done. Do they not inspect them thoroughly, making sure these things are OK before a consumer purchases their vehicles, obviously NOT? I had a rental car provided; got my car back and it seemed to be driving fine for a couple weeks. The slipping seemed to be occurring again, contacted Mike, and took it in. In the mean time I receive a SAFETY RECALL NOTICE. This notice states that the OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER has a defect. The notice specifically states FCA US has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in a variety of models. The vehicle may experience a loss of air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner deployment capability during a crash due to a shorting condition resulting in a negative voltage transient that travels to the Occupant Restraint Controller via the front impact sensor wires. The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury during a crash. The remedy for this condition is not currently available.
I immediately contacted Shad (salesman), whom very rudely stated that the car is SAFE to drive, that this is a courtesy from Chrysler stating that this has become known and it is NOT A GOVERNMENT RECALL . If it was a GOVERNMENT RECALL it would state Government on the notice. Shad proceeded to re-iterate that the car is safe to drive. I tried to inform him what I was requesting a RENTAL CAR at Stew Hansens expense, I will bring my car to them, leave it there UNTIL the parts become available and it is fixed properly because I do not feel safe driving this car, not just for my safety but for my grand children s safety as well. I have a seven year old that is allowed to sit in the front seat now, and if a crash was to occur this would be devastating. But Shad would not give me the chance to speak and re-iterate what I am requesting. Needless the grand child will NOT be sitting in the front seat of any Stew Hansen car now.
I then called for the GENERAL MANAGER; someone by the name of JIM answered the call. I informed him as to what the problem was, what I wanted done, and he stated he would have the SERVICE MANAGER contact me. Jim stated that the GM was out of the office until WEDNESDAY, and this way we can resolve this matter before he gets back. CONTINUED ON PAGE TWO (Will not let me post page 2)

We used the collision center for an insurance claim. The work was great, but the reason for 5 stars is the level of service we received. They partner with Enterprise rental cars and took care of arranging the rental for us. It was there ready when we dropped out car off, and we were able to just leave the rental there when we picked our car back up. They also washed our car, vacuumed it, and put a nice shine on the tires. I've never seen our car that clean! It's those extra touches that really sets them apart. I would rate them higher if I could. I will absolutely use this location in the future if e have another issue.

Jason Levang provided an experience beyond my expectation. While I am sure some of my questions were pretty basic, at no time did I feel I was asking irrelevant or unnecessary questions. I was treated with respect, not rushed. I know I was given all the information I needed to make an informed choice; information beyond my questions. He encouraged me to call with any questions that may come up; and if they do, I will feel comfortable calling. Oh, yes, Steve in finance provided the same professional service that I see must be Stew Hansen's brand.

Went to the dealership as my lease is ending. I was perfectly happy to keep my existing Cherokee and buy out the reaming lease. But I had been sent several emails and mailings informing me about the possibility of upgrading the Cherokee for a few dollars more. So I thought why not just go and see what offers could be had.
So in I went and actually decided to see about upgrading to a lower end model Grand Cherokee.
I have always found the staff friendly, polite, and knowledgable. I told the sales rep what I was wanting to stay within for my payments, and then asked him what was needed to get to that number.
They came back with several options based on lease months and down payment sizes. This information, along with additional incentives, was enough for me make my decision. I was able to drive off in a new Grand Cherokee.

The worst. Worse than Karl Chevrolet & that's hard to beat. Took my van in to have air fixed. Not only did I catch them in several lies after their "inspection", they proceeded to play a guessing game of what might fix it all the while price gouging like none other, only to call me saying it was ready & not even 8 hours after I pick it up - it in fact was not fixed. Oh but that's ok - all I had to do was take it back up to these incompetent lube techs (no way they're asc certified) for them to guess again & charge me AGAIN! I effing paid over $700 the 1st time to have them not fix it apparently! Never ever again. This place is why they call them STEALerships. They should've taken the $ they spent on their big ass flag & put their mechanics through legit asc certificate training instead.

So some of what I'm about to get into is a knock on just about the whole car selling industry but none the less I feel I should share. As others have stated in their reviews the approach used at Stew Hansen's is fairly laid back, not the pushy why don't you like this car, what can we do to make you drive off the lot in any car today stuff you get some places, hence my two stars. I test drove a Ram pickup with a sales associate and felt as though I was treated with respect, when we got inside and we started talking deal he did the classic lets see what the man behind the curtain has to say (this is the same junk that happens most everywhere, it is designed to make you feel like the sales associate is on your side and is trying to get the best deal they can for you). When he returned with the offer it was full MSRP, no discount. I have bought two new cars from Honda, one from Toyota and one from GMC and never had I gotten a full MSRP starting point, what a slap in the face. When I registered my disgust the mystery man from behind the curtain came right over and long story short let me know that what I was after was a very popular vehicle and hence had no real wiggle room on the price and that if I didn't take it someone else would.

So my response was to go home and do something I've never done, buy a car over the phone out of state. I found a little dealer that had two pickups very similar to what I was looking at at Stew Hansens and when I asked about the price they quoted me a starting point that represented the invoice cost of the vehicle not MSRP. The price difference was nearly $5,000, so Stew Hansens just couldn't budge on the $5,000 profit margin they were after... In the end I got a 2015 Ram eco diesel in a Larime package for $5,000 less than the Outdoorsman package they were showing me, and I did it over the phone, talked to one person and never felt like I was being taken advantage of. We all know dealerships can't sell cars for free but they don't have to play a numbers game with us and make us sit through hours of mind numbing back and forth, this just makes it so that some people with less patience end up getting taken for a ride and those with the will power to run through the negotiation process might end up with a good deal, but a fair amount of animosity towards the people they are doing business with. Do yourself a favor and check around with the small independently owned dealers they just might have a different way of doing business.

Only good if you still have a manufactory warranty. If not,they will overcharge for work that is not done correctly. Be prepared to have hoses not attached tightly, vehicle to overheat after non related work being done, poor workmanship by the "best technician" they have, and overall bad customer service by service technician. I had gave these guys more than their fair share of one more time of trying to do things right. They must think I like being stranded after service for their technician making a mistake. Only to be left with no car for a few days and bigger problems down the road. The overheating was due to technical not properly making sure engine was free of air after doing manufactory warranty work.

My previous car that I bought was from a private sale from an online website. It was sketchy but the deal seemed too good to pass up. Later I found out that the seller lied and I would put a couple thousand dollars down on my car and I haven t even had it for a year. I went to Stew Hansen not to optimistic just because I had such a bad previous experience, but this time was better, easier, smoother, and I felt confident in my purchase. Josh and Matt were great and I m glad my family and I had the chance to work with them! I probably won t be going anywhere else for my cars except this place!

My review is specifically for their oil change and car repair services. I have not purchased a vehicle here. I have been using them for the past 3-4 years for oil changes, but I won't any longer. The wait times are just too long, and their staff have consistently been apathetic and unaccommodating the last few visits. We purchased an oil change package for 3 uses, which apparently they try to hide a 1-year expiration date that is not disclosed anywhere on their ads nor was it told to us.

I will probably still use them for some car service repairs, because they are one of the few locations that will allow the owner to provide parts and just install them. Labor rates are reasonable, but also suffers from the long wait times.

CAR BUYERS BEWARE, WORST auto buying experience ever! Cristian Benavides was a very poor salesperson, but the GM Roger Bill cowered away from the problems they created & would not return any calls. I bought a '18 Jeep Grand Cherokee from them on 2-19 after, calls and texts with the salesperson, Arranged my loan w/Veridian & confirmed insurance & arranged for 2-21 afternoon pickup. I arrived & they told me the Jeep was being sold right now, I couldn't believe that this shady car sales practice still happened in the car business. This Roger Bill said it was the salesman's fault for not actually taking a CC deposit, but I believe otherwise, as a sales manager said later, they miss-priced that Jeep by $3K. Not my fault. I had traveled from Waterloo/CF area, so they agreed to take a $1130 off a '18 Durango I had also considered on their site. But I had to leave as I was on a business trip. I had the salesman take pictures of any flaws on the Durango to note. He said some rock chips & took a picture from 6'. My wife and I drove all the way back to their Ankeny location on 2-25 to take delivery of this Durango. Upon inspection this car's seats has been slashed on both front seats to the point they were ruined, but they looked like someone tried to cover up the cuts in the leather with a poor vinyl repair job that was obvious & already cracking! I declined the car & had wasted gas & time again!!. The most unethical dealership I have ever tried to do business with. I have bought a new car or CPO car every year for the past 15 years, prior with Toyotas, switched to FCA with a 2 new Durangos in '13 and new Chrysler 300s AWD in '15 & fall of '18 bought CPO ;18 Certified Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. I had a company provided car and needed to replace that! Save some time and grieg and buy local or buy from any different dealer than this Dewey Dodge FCA, keep in mind the same owners, owner Stew Hansen Dodge & related dealerships in DM areas. Now I have had my State Farm agent relate a bad experience they had 9 yrs ago & would never recommend them as well. Steer Clear of Dewey /Stew Hansen Dealerships, numbers are more important than people here!!!

I sent in all my docs via email he sent it in to finance, got my approval, told what I needed for down payment. I went in to pick up my new car everything was ready in waiting, drove my vehicle, went to finance . The whole transaction took less than 45 min and I drove out with my new car.

That being said, I felt slightly fooled into the additional package for the vehicle. The finance person would not answer the question about how much each package cost, but rather showed me how much the monthly payment would be with each package. Other than the finance situation, I was satisfied.

Mark the sales manager who took over when the negotiations started seemed to be an alright guy until we reached an impasse over $1300.00 on a new vehicle purchase...but then he said apparently you didn t want this truck bad enough ...not something you say to a customer IMHO....so I said apparently you didn t want to sell it bad enough and walked. Do not buy a " certified used vehicle" from this place!!!!! Traveled 500 miles to buy a 2014 ram 2500 laramie truck from this place. Was told over the phone it was never smoked in or wrecked. Had a clean car fax but was clearly in an accident and poorly repaired. It smelled like smoke so bad. Cigarette burns on window seals and the back seats ( which i didnt see until i got it home). The salesman made me sign the paperwork in the airport before i saw the truck. I learned my lesson to never trust salesman. So i get it home and have it detailed and the paint polished ($500). Everything seems ok for a few weeks, had a cold snap one morning and tried to use the heated seats and of course they dont work. Took it to a local stealership only to find out that the seats are not covered under the "certified warranty". Which i was told they would be. Now i am having to pay the stealership $2000 to fix the damn thing. Oh and the cruise control doesnt work either. DO NOT TRUST THIS PALCE

We stopped out today just to look since we just had a car fire and knew we would be needing a new car. We had no expectations we were truly just looking. Then we met the BEST salesman ever! Damir took his time to show us vehicles that fit our needs and ultimately found the perfect fit for us. He got us approved fairly quickly and we drove away in our beautiful new car. As always, very good experience with these guys. James Reynolds, Jerry Bill and Tim in finance did a superb job. I d done a credit lock I d forgotten about, but with Tims help, we got thru it. Great end of month deal, as well as 0% interest for 36 months. This is at least 6 or 7 personal deal with them, and always first class.

This place is unbelievably and ridiculously overpriced. Let's just say they charged me 1200 dollars for a 250 dollar repair I got at dent eliminators body repair shop which did a great job on the repair on a timely manner and same day repair! Been to a different repair shop before stoping at Dent eliminators that said that they will replace the damaged part plus repaint it for me and install with labor fee that cost 900 plus tax in total... 300 less than Stew Hansen!!!!! Even with a new part! Stew hansen charged me literally 24.8 hours of repair time.... spread that for the hours they work would take 4 day! We came to Stew Hansen Dodge looking for a specific vehicle that we saw on line. It was a Chrysler 300C AWD. The vehicle was there and the salesman,Tommy, was happy to show it to us. It was our first experience with a Chrysler and Tommy made sure that we understood everything about it. We ended up purchasing the 300 and are very pleased with it. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be recommending Stew Hansen Dodge, and especially Tommy, to all of our friends that are in the market for a new or pre-owned vehicle.
