Dilapidated establishment. The era of its splendor seems to have passed.

Not at what you would expect from a Sofitel and at all levels ...

Room: very uncomfortable bed (creaking with every movement, it felt like being in a boat) poor bedding)
Air conditioning (very noisy)
Cleaning (the lady in charge was very intrusive, she also moved our personal linen)
Bathroom: sanitary old taps sinks full of limestone and different from each other.

Buffet: well assorted, a shame for most of the waiters who I think are not up to par.
More than once I have had to put away the dirty dishes myself.

Beach service: good.

Reception: There is no one who speaks a little Italian. IT IS NOT 5 STARS.

Very bad experience of a 5 star hotel. Probably due to dysfunctional circumstances; No water activities in the hotel, you have to go to Hilton, the sofa bed for children dates from I do not know when but quoted head and foot lower than the middle part. Try to sleep well!
My 12 year old son does not dare to go out and order his morning omelette. He feels a certain hostility on the part of the gentleman who holds the booth every morning.
Otherwise hotel has a very nice pool with a great relaxation area very well maintained. A good place to rest.
I hope that the renovation planned for next year would allow more comfort in the room.

In this way, we would like to thank the hotel management and all staff that they accompanied us during our stay and after our serious accident in an animal park in Mauritius and in the organization of our return journey and the medically necessary extension of the stay have supported. The helpfulness of the employees and their concern went far beyond the limits of good service. So I became e.g. Visited by the hotel manager and other staff in the hospital, our maid wrote a personal card with recovery requests and a lobbying staff member sent me "blessed" frangipanis through my husband. Although the hotel was fully booked during the high season, we were able to stay in our room until the day of departure and even change to a more comfortable floor. Every day, the staff have inquired about our condition and made every effort to fulfill our wishes and needs. So we had the day before our departure a breakfast on the beach and in the evening a candle light dinner, which were initiated and organized by the staff of the hotel. Apart from that, we enjoyed our time especially in the spa area, where we had our peace and a beautiful view of the beautiful grounds. Our romantic wedding with impressive photos and a first-class video must also be mentioned - many thanks to the dedicated wedding planner, Ms. M.B., fantastic photographer J. with his assistant S. as well as the great video team! A wonderful site for an exceptional hotel.

The rooms are very pleasant and comfortable, the food excellent and varied (several themed restaurants), the staff very pleasant and attentive.

Many activities included in the hotel price: kayaking, catamaran, laser, pedal boat, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat ride, water skiing. Daily entertainment during the day (volleyball, archery, football, aquagym ...) and tennis with loan of equipment.

A gym and relaxation area (sauna and hammam) are also available as well as a club for small children.

In the evening, music until 11 p.m. to liven up the evenings at the bar.

In short, a perfect place for holidays with the family or as a couple, between rest, sport and visits if you feel like it.

Hello, living in Mauritius since several months. Tried to reserve several times for dinner and never managed. Whether they tell you they clearly do not take locals or they tell you a reservation 10 days in advance for a birthday is too early and to call back. Honestly it's quite scandalous as all the other 5 stars hotels on the island have a different approach. What I can say is that you lost a client and your customer service can be improved.Best regards

I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Mauritius. We had a great time there, it's just a dream there. The "Most" is surely the private beach with the beds, the Beach and Room service for snacks (very good prices), the perfect room with balcony and sea view, the laundry that smells of flowers, kindness and the dedication of the staff, the outside with the frangipane trees and greenery (very well maintained on a daily basis), the birds singing to wake you up, the coconut palms to shade you. We were able to visit several big hotels, from an infrastructure point of view the Sofitel is by far one of the best. Its location to the west also offers a sublime sunset on the ocean in the evening. The only point I could fault is the mandatory wearing of pants to go for dinner or a drink at night, but it seems that it is a Mauritian tradition and therefore not due to the hotel alone.

Me and my girlfriend were on vacation.
We liked it very much there were some problems but we were able to clarify them with the manager. And what I have to say it had 2 service staff at the beach bar they were super good they were called visahl and dinesh. It was really fun with you.

Very welcoming, well located (not only because it is on top of the sea but also because it allows exploring all corners of the island without doing many miles). The buffet is of a high quality and they change the dishes daily. The remaining restaurants are excellent and always packed. Highly recommend!

From the first to the last minute we had a fantastic stay. Nice gr. Room on the 3rd floor, with a balcony.
Had HP. The Abendl.Buffet was always a surprise .. always changing Themen.Grossartig..sehr delicious and beautifully presented. All staff very friendly and helpful.

The whole area is a dream, very spacious. Enough loungers, hammocks, parasols are available for a pleasant stay. You have privacy.

Perfect rooms, beautiful gardens, very average catering and slow and rough service. Also if you dream of swimming in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean this is not the right hotel. The water in the beach is yellowish due to two rivers flowing from the ocean on either side of the Sofitel beach. So you will be wading in brackish water loaded with soil, detritus and waste. As for the beach equipment, mattresses and deckchairs, not only is the equipment in very poor condition and above all it is not maintained, no sand cleaning on the mattresses and above all no cleaning of clients' beach towels and dishes who ate under the umbrella. In short you arrive there and do not know where to land because you think that the deckchairs are taken, but not at all the previous customers have been gone for a long time or even since the day before and their remains are still there.

Fantastic hotel with adjoining beach. We spent 10 days of tranquility with baptism of diving, windsurfing and just enjoying the tranquil setting of this hotel.

Ants in our bed and at the minibar. Food was average and overpriced. The rooms were nice but the ants ruined it. The room numbering system is very confusing as well.

A good hotel with excellent conditions and great location. However it is necessary to tip employees (especially catering), otherwise discrimination is more than obvious and obvious!
In a hotel of this category and given the prices practiced, in the XXI century it is unacceptable situations of discrimination by tips. Most of the (restaurant) employees literally hunt for the tip, the most embarrassing situation happened to us with employee Vikash, who 'kept' the tables (on one occasion more than 3 tables) theoretically free for guests who tipped .
In my opinion it is unacceptable in a hotel of this category!

Buffets for breakfast and dinner in the restaurant are good and varied.

The rooms are spacious and air conditioned. Equipped with bathrooms with shower and bath, the taps need to be revised but can be used.



When we arrived, fruit, cakes, tea, coffee and little stuffed animals for the children were waiting for us in the room.

A children's club for 4 to 12 year olds with the possibility of having a free lunch on site and also baby-sitters for the little ones (paying). A big thank you to Brigitte, crush of our big!

Pure relaxation! We were here for two weeks with our baby and we were able to relax super. The staff was very courteous and always friendly. For example, if you had the child in your arms at the buffet, someone was always there to help you. The room was very clean. In the evening the beds were freshly turned up.
The spa, all restaurants and bars are all recommendable. And if you need something, you just have to ask for it and they will try to help you immediately. Not cheap, but worth every penny!

Negative points :
The room is in my opinion not at the level of the prestige of the name of the hotel and the price of the stay. Refreshments are urgently needed and the problem of small animals squatting around the sinks must be resolved.

I also think that some young waiters located at the beach restaurant, must be cropped and trained quickly.
Rudeness, insolence, laughs for having forgotten to serve a coke and for making the customer wait 30 minutes and service of an infinite length ...
But on the other hand, you have to pay immediately and necessarily leave a tip if not we are limited mouth ...
Avoid the plate of fruit for dessert because you will have to wait approximately 30 minutes for preparation.
And if by the pool, you don't want to wait for your pancake for hours, I advise you to order it in the cabin and then go see the waiters to place the order again. You do their job, but at least it's going a little faster.

Thai style in Mauritian land, this hotel is located on the beautiful flic en Flac beach, has a magnificent swimming pool, a la carte restaurant and sublime rooms overlooking a postcard sunset. Try it at least one night.

Everything could have been perfect if we had not missed the plane because of the hotel that made us hang around for almost an hour to collect our luggage and the valet who made an accident with us and today he refuses to pay and reimburse expenses. I have been an Accor customer for more than 5 years and I travel a lot but in this hotel I will not come back because I find it inadmissible
