Definitely a place to stay for a wonderful and relaxed holiday on Mauritius. The hotel itself is so beautiful, wonderful place of the main Restaurant right in front of the pool. The rooms are great with an open bath. There are lovely places at the beach, garden and pool area, with great sunbeds, hammocks and more. Great food at the buffet and lovely staff.
Great hotel, dream beach (not always the case in Mauritius!!), service ok (room has not always been cleaned up perfectly, but it was ok), breakfast could have been more variedly, dinner buffet has been great with many choices and motto evenings.
The price for drinks is quite expensive, but this should be expected in a 5***** hotel.
Next little town with 2 small supermarkets can be reached by food in 30 minutes or by taxi. There is no possibility to get food or drinks next to the hotel.
We have spent 17 lovely days in November 2018 here, which have been very relaxing.

Great hotel, with good varied cuisine. The staff is friendly, attentive and always tried very hard. Apparently there are only rooms with a sea view. Room spacious with an open bathroom. In the bathroom there were a few things that could be improved, but fine for a beach hotel.

Another small problem: the buoys limiting the places to swim in the sea, are too close to the edge, so surface too restricted to enjoy the natural beauty of the water.

My stay was bad. Hotel not recommended for any Italian.
Lack of attention at the reception, no welcome lift, flowers and fruit on arrival. Immediately requested supplement not due for room on the upper floor, but which I had requested from the Travel Agency and which should have been booked and not reported, being the same room with identical characteristics. Lack of shower equipment in the room: bubble bath cap. Alarm clock requested and scheduled for the morning for excursion but never sounded. landline phone in the room out of use for days. Air conditioning which flooded the room.
There are 5 restaurants but in reality the buffet works where you have to get up constantly and swerve among people. No air conditioning, humid heat is eaten by sweating. The others are Chinese, the other Japanese. Those of fish near the sea closed on alternate days in the period of the very high season Christmas New Year.
Dirt on the stairs never removed from morning until evening. nobody cleans corridors or stairways full of bird droppings that one is forced to step on. Sea dirty with oil from boats so much that few bathed all in the pool, location on the beach flic a flac worst ever last hotel. The cleaning lady in the morning aged 40 kilos who looked like a beggar and while asking for bathroom items she always forgot. Half-empty minibar. Slow beach service one hour to have a drink. In the evening they also forgot to redo the room despite having displayed a special sign.
At the reception no one spoke a word of Italian, not even as a welcome. Extra charge of over 100.00 also to eat a mini lobster in the buffet as the fish restaurant was already full despite having attempted a reservation in the morning. The beach is not cleaned properly always full of glasses and handkerchiefs in the morning.
A stay that for 7 days in H / B made me pay about 7,000.00 when booked online and not through the Agency costs less than half. IT IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL and IS NOT WORTH 4 STARS for service, allocation, food, cleanliness, sea, beach.

We were invited to a wedding. The party was well organized.
But then the cozy part, the service is catastrophic, until there is something to drink brought ....
At the festive dinner the supplements were forgotten u.s.w. I once said, "go to Pearle Beach and have it explained once or several times how a good friendly service works".

We went to the Sofitel for a SPA day. The staff is very kind, helpful and well intentioned. The message at the SPA was very good. The hotel seems well maintained. We ate at the Tamassa restaurant, the food was good and there is quite a selection (good palm kernel salad, good porcuitto pizza but the porcuitto was replaced by other cold cuts, strawberry tiramisu good but there is too much cream and not enough biscuit).
Room spacious, country-typical decor, clean. Staff very friendly and attentive. Botanically beautifully landscaped grounds with a sandy beach. Food tastes great and is varied, every evening a culinary theme.

The poshest place we have been so far, and the best by far!
First, the greeting: warm and welcoming, the check-in staff are diligent in making you aware of all the amenities accessible in your package.
Then the room: airy, roomy, full of light and cosy. The cleanliness and comfort is unmatched. Just what you need to relax and unwind. You may as well go in the immense garden and sprawl in one of the hammocks or the framed beds in the shade under the trees - you'll fell like in a dream...
The food: very wide selection, all carefully prepared with your health and delight in mind.
The facilities: we didn't have sufficient time to explore all of them, but that pool is so enjoyable. Icy cold due to the weather, but exhilarating beyond words. And mind you: there's no chlorine in this water, so you can just relax nearby without fear of your skin itching from the irritation.
Last but not least: the staff is very caring. From the bell-boy, the receptionists, the waiters to all the others: they were so enthusiastic in chatting and making your stay as pleasant as possible...
Nothing to criticise, really. Just go and relax!
Sandy beaches, great Mauritius hospitality and smile all over you would go. Great and very abundant choices of dishes and menus. Spacious rooms and the services are really world class. Have better beaches in some other hotels but still it's an amazing beach. Have some sporting activities but lack a golf course. Easy to find your way in that zone as the road is straight.
Beautiful hotel. Warm welcome and impeccable rooms. The restoration is not left behind. By cons plastic shoes essential for swimming. (I was stung by a stone fish right in front of the hotel a few years ago) Otherwise I recommend the Sofitel

The place is beautiful and the beach is wonderful. A sense of luxury, but the resort is not active and gloomy. Some of the employees in the restaurant need to deal with the client. The food is good, most of it, but the desserts of God are only the grace of grace

Good hotel, the view is breathtaking... good service.. The kids villa is a good place for the kids. My daughters enjoyed it.the staff is very friendly.. the food is good. In the Japanese restaurant the tepnyaki was very good but the sashimi and maki rolls were way below the expectations..
A superb stay in this hotel with very good benefits and a welcome to pamper our French hotels. Restaurants or the cuisine is very neat and the products are very fresh ... everything is there to make you feel at home .... only downside .... I do not find normal that some people can swim in the pool fully veiled from head to toe as well as in restaurants .... we are not in Saudi Arabia ...

Can t talk about the hotel but before changing our hotel and book there decided to give it a try and contact them and visit the hotel, but the first guest service staff didn t understand English, second one told me we can t book any of their restaurants as it s for hotel guests only, finally the duty manager who was very rude and disrespectful, he even asked me not to book in their hotel.
Very nice and clean resort. Amazing food and staffs. Ocean is beautiful in the area and there's lots of activities provided by the resort. Room was clean and modern with a beautiful view.
Worst service in our life! We got married in this hotel and wanted to party with several guests. Unfortunately the service was so bad when eating together. In three hours only got drinks, side dishes were missing, staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Unfortunately that was the same in the hotel otherwise. Disproportionately expensive and bad service with a hotel in need of renovation. For problems only something about the escalation by the tour guide was done. Wedding itself was very nice. During a nightly walk on the beach, however, it became clear that the hotels in the northern part of the hotel made the candlelight dinner more exclusive and more affectionate. Nothing to recommend!
Hotel very beautiful. Nice staff. Quality restoration. Benefits offered interesting. Luxurious room. On the other hand it is true that for the standard of the hotel certain details deserve to be improved (joints, humidity, black spots bathroom)
Nice hotel but let down by the food.
PROS: Very nice rooms, great grounds and there is a spa though I did not get to use it. The internet connectivity was also reliable. There is a nice kids section with a small pool for them as well as other activities.
There are also free glass boat rides and water cycles available for adults among other activities like archery.
CONS: Food is average and there is only one pool for the whole hotel. When checking out, we asked to have breakfast at 5.30am in order to catch an early flight but despite our request, we only got a selection of fruits, cereals and bread for breakfast as the chefs were not available.
TIPS: there are beach beds but you need to reserve them really early in the morning (before breakfast) as the best ones get taken quickly. Get the ones with a curtain roof as the sun can get really hot. Take a Catamaran Cruise to see a bit more of Mauritius as well, its well worth it!

Room on the ground floor 130 ... traces of mold + strong odor (the chambermaids try to mask this odor by spraying a product on the front door, which also leaves traces) but the odor remains .
Door frame (at the bottom) of the WC eaten by animals + roll of toilet paper placed on the wooden shelf puffed by glasses !!!!! Donut with peeling paint! Wooden shelf of the bathroom with the varnish that comes off by plate!
Trace of white paint on the bathroom walls ... a lot of dust under the bed ....
Repetitive evening buffet the starters and desserts are very low-end the hot dishes are not bad but nothing extraordinary.
The JACARANDA restaurant is excellent with a very professional and pleasant waiter (tall with a slight little mustache), well done!

It is a sofitel but there is better. In any case we were well received buffet and the restoration is good lack of activity in case of rain but sea activities free or with a good price-quality ratio. Some disappointments because lack of rejuvenation on some equipment at the room level but the comfort is still present.

Beautiful hotel with in a very scenic location. Staff are very polite and helpful. Plenty of food options between the hotels restaurants. Bars offer a variety of cocktails at very reasonable prices. Inclusive of you room price you are able to do a variety of non motorised watersports.

Fantastic service. Excellent hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay for 4 nights in Sofitel Imperial. In fact the hotel actually made us forget the trouble and issues that we experienced while working with tour operator Seaside
Happy with the rooms and up keep of the hotel and general experience. Friendly staff cleaning the rooms and at the dining areas. Lovely gardens, beach well kept for use of the guests. Wifi easy to access and reliable. Overall a good experience with one or two blips.
Bathroom design in the room a bit odd.
Extremely disappointed with the reception staff who were not helpful on checkin when a ground floor room that was requested prior to arrival was requested was not provided or checkout to facilitate an additional hour due to travel arrangements. Only after escalation via our travel agent and to the manager at the hotel was help provided.
Sofitel is a smaller, more intimate resort, relative to the neighboring resorts (Hilton, Sugar Beach and La Piroque). All rooms are located close to the beach, overlooking the sea. They are big enough and functional. The beds were very good. The toilet is separate from the wet room and a bit Spartan narrow. The restoration area is open plan, with great views of the pool area, so that it could "draw" in windigerem weather something. The food (breakfast and dinner buffet) was always varied, rich and tasty. The pool bar was unfortunately under construction in September. Conclusion: very gladly again.
