Spent a very romantic wedding weekend, too bad not to take advantage of the pool, by the cold and the wind. I hope this will be heated at the next opportunity.

Very nice hotel located between the Hilton and Maradiva (I specify because error on the map of google). Our room is right in front of the sunset ... perfect! Spacious room with amazing bedding, the staff is top, a real 5 star. The park is big with ponds and waterfalls. The Spa center is excellent, surely one of the best massages of all the countries already visited. Varied catering, huge pool, perfect beach services. For the most demanding, hotel a little aging because redone in 2013; nevertheless the benefits remain very good. Excellent choice for a beach holiday ... the lagoon!

We like fun buffets and nice atmosphere but I think that the housewives are thieves and digs my luggage. Because I lost a pocket there.

Staffs were friendly. I did not appreciate the food at all but when it comes to the room service, it was great. I got the welcome cocktail way too late after waiting for like an hour. I had to keep on requesting for the cocktail at the reception.

The holiday is already 3 years back, but we are thrilled with the hotel area. Our room on the ground floor was great, the buffet had a huge selection and all the staff were very friendly. The beach chairs, hammocks and beds in the meadows and on the beach left nothing to be desired. Too bad that there were hardly any corals and fish to be found. If we travel to Mauritius again, then gladly again in this hotel!

We had a pleasant stay for a week overall.
Strengths will remain:
-the catering or choice and quality was largely there, small flat on the communication of the themes of the buffet beforehand. This will have allowed us to avoid missing the Mauritian day!
- the setting and the environment of the hotel, nicely arranged with beautiful green spaces. This helps to make the rooms look a bit older.
- the Spa, to do!
- and last but not least the smile and the welcome from the staff, all charming and pleasant.
Negative points :
-Few explanations and information for the various nautical activities paying or not.
-have had to undergo 2 days of fairly heavy work in front of our room, which for a hotel of this standard and a little disturbing, if we had been warned!?.
This joins the point of communication which can improve.
We will nevertheless keep fond memories of this important moment for us.

I have stayed here many many times so have become a little bored with the experience and was not going to be complementary in my opinion. But I stayed here for 2 weeks and 1 final week at Le Meridien Pointe-Aux-Piments and staying one week at Le Meridien made me realise what a great hotel The Sofitel Imperial is!!
You could improve some things, possibly knowing when a returning customer comes back to stay and welcoming them accordingly. Also providing more electrical sockets in the rooms for charging personal devices for example. Also why are your gym facilities so poor for an award winning spa hotel? Many years ago when the gym was sited near the bar it was a terrible little gym. Then a few years later you built an annexe and moved it near the spa and it had some decent equipment but now it has again fallen back to being a bad little gym. All the hotels I have visited in Mauritius are the same and you should look to Dubai where all the high end hotels have amazing gym facilities. The pool at this hotel is HUGE and brilliant and wifi is exceptional. But please sort out the gym and install some decent equipment.
The hotel is a bit older, but everything is tip top and very well maintained. The garden and the beach are really heavenly. There is absolute harmony and the peace and quiet to relax. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. Taxis are available for numerous excursions. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the vacation very much.

Property in the Restaurant to be reviewed. Too many birds on the tables as the staff does not clean them when the clients leave.

A great vacation! Very pleasant place with a lot of activities to do on site, such as scuba diving or water skiing.
We had a great time at this hotel both thanks to the exceptional food and the magnificent landscapes that Mauritius offers. The only negative points are the service which is not worthy of a five star and the fact that there are a lot of people, especially young children, which affects the calm of the hotel.
Despite this the experience remains mostly positive, I recommend.
Wonderful hotel! Nice and clean beach! Snorkelling, stand-up paddling, kayaking etc. Everything is free and is provided by the hotel to guests.
Kindness, smile, availability. Excellent hotel to come and relax. It still needs in the rooms of a renovation: damaged furniture, persistent scale on the shower cubicle, cracks in the ceiling. But god that the Mauritian welcome is fabulous. They alone make you want to come back ...

We are very satisfied with our stay:
- very nice room well located (141) and very well maintained by the cleaning staff. To refresh soon but I think this is planned. Small flat with a lot of noise on a Friday night for the installation of a tent and sound in front of the kids club. We would have appreciated a word of apology from the management
- catering: buffets morning and evening varied and very good quality. Stay in half board with simple meals for lunch. Can be expand a little list of dishes offered. Restaurant staff very friendly and efficient. Dinner of crawfish and taepaniaki very pleasant
- beautiful beach and water sports quality and accessible. Low-traffic pool except for the aquatic gym
- Kids club practice. In this season quite few activities really done but the people who take care of them are flexible on schedules and smiling-
-SPA and massages very well
- very efficient reception but not necessarily very smiling. Ditto for the bar

This hotel has a lot of charm and style. It offers full 5 stars services and the staff is always ready to help you to enjoy your stay. The reception, the rooms, the swimming pool, the bars, the garden, the private beach, it's always perfect.
Mauritius island is beautiful and its inhabitants are so welcoming and friendly, it would be a shame not to discover this country.
We stayed 1 week in the deluxe 301 room with ocean view. Nothing to say about the facilities, the room, the restaurants, the infirmary, the beach, the bar and so on. Everything was perfect. But I want to emphasize the quality of the service that has been proposed to us. Thanks to Neeshta and Rajen for being so attentive to our needs and responsive. The surprise for my birthday will remain in our memories. Thanks to Ranita, the maid, for her work, her surprises and her little extras for decoration. We did not miss anything. Thanks also to Mervin who gave us an impeccable service during meals. His smile will be missed. Eesha the pastry chef also marked our stay with her good mood and her delicious personalized dishes. We had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel, the reception staff of bars and restaurants are at your service and an incredible kindness as we wish in our dreams.
This hotel is idyllic, beach and beautiful views, the rooms are beautiful and the bedding very comfortable. And above all we eat very well! The head chef at the main restaurant treats us in the evening with these Indian-inspired recipes. The breakfast is top you can find everything you need.
We had a wonderful time at the Sofitel and we will be back with pleasure.
Sublime hotel, perfect restaurant because very eclectic, to discover many flavors, rooms are very spacious, it's like small suites with different rooms, a living room, a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, two toilets, a terrace, in short , happiness !!!
Good setting and environment. Very clean and well maintained. Nice amenities and activities. Food was good and personnel very kind, although the welcome at the hotel entrance was lacking. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Very good stay, pleasant staff, lots of activities included in the stay such as hammam sauna, heated swimming pool by reservation of 45min per day, canoe, pedal boat, padel, windsurfing, out in glass bottom boats, diving outside the coral reef ... Every evening a small band. Varied in quantity and good cuisine.
I really recommend, only downside is not having been very well informed of all the activities and suddenly missed the dive trip.

Experience was quite fascinating and like a dream come true except tht the place is a bit far from the market area and thr shud be a shuttle service or a " reasonable" hotel taxis avaialble as an option.
An excellent resort. Despite its (big!) size, tou never feel overwhelmed by the other guests as there are enough sunbeds spread all around the beach and garden.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
If you dont mind having no ocean view, consider the junior suite in the garden, with a zen view on the japanese garden.
Food quality is really good, even at breakfast or at the diner buffet.
Evenings have 2 atmosphere: piano with great singer at the main bar, or more modern at the beach bar. Cool!
Rooms are large though somewhat aged, but with great comfort and plenty of amenities.
I definitely would come back!

More of a 4 stars resort to me as I expected more from a 5 stars level and there are lots of rooms to improve on service. We arrived as a big family group of 14 people and 2 kids, big luggage, all tired after a long flight and long ride to get to the resort (around 1h from the airport). The shuttle bus dropped some other guests along the way at Sugar Beach and Hilton before us and at every resort, the staffs came out to greet and took the luggage for them right away. We arrived last and as we came, there was only one girl came out, stood there and looked at us and the bus driver as he unloaded the luggage. I guess even the bus driver has asked her to brought someone to help as she just stood still. She went back inside and we had to help him. We waited for another 5 - 10 min and thought we couldnt wait no longer and started to take the luggage ourselves inside. Halfway there then finally some men came out and helped. First impression is always important and it didnt start out well!
Check-in was quite slow and unclear as they seemed unfamiliar dealing with one big group at the same time. We booked a honeymoon room but there was nothing different than normal room except they came later and gave us some sweet and a Champaign. No bed or room decoration although we booked more than half a year in advance. I find normal 3 or 4 stars hotels can do better than this.
Staffs seemed somehow unhappy or not paid enough that they just do their duty and does not go all the way to help the guest and I find somehow lack of friendliness or happiness from them. The last day there I was getting a mild sore throat and wanted to prevent that with Ginger tea. I asked one girl in the breakfast area if she could find me some ginger slices as they were not there as usual. She said ok and went on with her work. Then I asked the lady who served our table if she could help and she just went to the tea spot where ginger normally is and looked, came back said that no it's not there. I asked if she could look maybe in the kitchen. She refused immediately and said No! If it s not there mean the kitchen didn t have it without even checking our asking. I finally went to a manager and asked if he could help. 5 mins later a man brought the ginger to my table. Finally! I had to ask three times for just ginger! Sorry but the staffs need to get more trainings to up to 5 stars level.
Also, as we checked out and checked the bill, there were two beer cans charged in our room although we didn t drink. So always check through your bills regardless how long it is!
Room: quite spacious but need renovation. Many ants in the room. I have been in Maldives at a 4 stars resort only but with the price I paid for this hotel, the rooms here are no close to that.
Food: one buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner, three other options for dinner with Chinese, Teppanyaki or seafood but each person get only 700R credit. This is around 20 . One main dish in Chinese restaurant itself is already around 500-700R, without rice or noodle. Drinks are not inclusive in this 700. With one main dish cost around 20 , people expect it to be either very good or big enough for two. But none was. Food was average that you can find in any Chinese Imbis or normal Chinese restaurant in Germany, which means not authentic or extraordinary. Seafood restaurant was nicer and more reasonable with the price. Do try their honey glazed pork. I get it that when we are on vacation and stay at a 5 stars resort, we should expect to pay more. But it should worth it. Breakfast at buffet is always same. Buffet dinners change theme every day but I find around 60% of them is the same. Not much seafood although it is in an island. Out of 10 days we stayed, only two nights when they served Swordfish sashimi and Scallop sashimi and fish that I found the food was the highlight.
With the price we paid and the experience we had, we would not come back here.
