Professional service. Joe not only helps with pest but also educates on how/what can be done to keep them away. He makes sure that he doesn't spray on fruits/vegetables/flower plants in the flower bed and vegetable garden. Smith Thompson reminds and schedules the services when due. It help me not to worry about calling them to schedule.

Technician came to set our alarm up for monitoring. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Service rate is the best in town and was easy to set up.

These guys are so great. Monitoring service "just" works - which is what you want, no headaches. I recently had attic work done and the guys that did it must've damaged a wire. I called out Smith Thompson to troubleshoot, and Jeff came out, couldn't identify the issue right away, but promised he'd be back with more troubleshooting tools. He came back a few days later, and within 30 minutes he found the "gremlin" wire. And he didn't charge another service visit charge. Plus he was a friendly guy that I'd have into my home any time. I'll be a Smith Thomson customer for life.

I called them to treat front backyard for ants. A technician came (named Jordan, that later I learnt is owner's son) and made a fantastic job crawling and chasing and spraying and putting baits. He charged me for full year in advance saying that in this way I had guaranteed if ever ants were returning. He also mentioned that a re treatment might be needed in two weeks. Very happy at that time. two weeks later, as said ants were back. Called them and another technician came saying that there was not such a guarantee but he was going to honor what the owner's son had said, he sprayed some areas. 10 days after that and the outside walls are back full of ants, and some get inside too. Called them and they want to charge $29 for a re-treatment. Where is the guarantee? it is only one reapplication of where you tell them to spray. I don't know what they are spraying but only lasted one week. Not happy at all and already paid for full year. CHEATERS!!!! Brittany over the phone told me that I had signed that in the contract (never signed that) and then she said" Well, that is what it is in our website" AVOID THEM.

Thank you sir for your answer: I certainly prefer the ants outside and not inside as they are now after many (1 and a bit of re-spray) treatments. Your website says in FAQ "You get a full year ongoing warranty, for the interior of your home if you signed up for the quarterly program with auto-draft, or if you ve prepaid the year of pest control". Now I learnt that for you full year ONGOING means one more spray. I regret paying full year to just bring the ants indoors..

EDIT SEP 18th. A month has passed and I am still waiting on the "we will review". They never reached back to me. Obviously they were quick to answer the review too look nice and caring. I keep my 1 start review.

Beware and dont use. Alarm was going off and never received call. I called and was placed on hold. then I called back and was placed on hold again. Was a good 15 minutes before I was called back. I pay for a service and expect nothing more or less than that but this was an epic fail by them. Luckily it was not a real emergency. When I called to cancel my service they told me that the alarm wouldn't go off that long (20 min), I told them they are right, I must have just imagined it.

With my 2 homes, I have been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years, and always happy with the service, that is until I actually needed it. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They just texted me threatening legal action. It is not a dishonest review as why would I make that up being a customer for that long. If my system was no good, why did you agree to take it on? That doesn't make sense to me if you pride yourself in customer service, as in yeah we'll take his money even though his system may not work right.

After a recent break in at our home we called Smith Thompson. They came out quickly and the technition was very knowledgeable and kind. We are so glad we chose them. Thanks for helping us feel safe in our home again.

I liked how painless this was to setup start to finish from making the appointment to 3 days later having a tech come out and our old system was compatible with their monitoring capabilities. I still have them change out the old key pads to something new and the price was reasonable and I like the fact that I wasn t nickel and dimed to fix the bugs of the old system and replace sensors as needed.

The technician was prompt, professional and full of great information. The pricing was transparent I didn t feel as if it was changed.

Smith Thompson is by far the best Monotoring company I have used. Service is outstanding when alarms do go off & monitoring rates are incredibly reasonable & the best I ve found. Service was great. From arrival to departure the service guy answered all questions and did a function check of system. No issues and everything took no more that 30 minutes for him to analyze the problem and replace the part needed.

Absolutely a great experience with this company! Installation was fast and easy- they didn't try to upsell us on equipment we didn't need. They used our existing equipment. The one time we had a breech in security was an accident and they resolved it within minutes! Nice to know that if a real situation were occurring the response would be speedy!

Residential alarm monitoring is practically a necessary evil. For one, by having it you get a discount on your home owner's insurance policy which more than covers the annual cost of the monitoring itself. I don't think a yard sign is much of a deterrent but I sleep better at night knowing a) I get advance notice (audible siren) when someone breaks in and b) if I'm not at home, the thieves can't just take their time (like have a bite to eat, use the restroom, etc). All that being said, I really do not like being gouged. Many years ago I had Brinks Home Security (later became Broadview). My sister has had ADT (her only option where she lives) for many, many years. With the "traditional" monitoring services out there, you paid about $25 a month for hard-wired monitoring which meant you had to have a residential phone line ($20+) for it to work. Then wireless became an option but the companies figured you could afford to pay more for the service since you didn't need to have a land line purely for your alarm system. I eventually switched to ProtectionOne only to get stuck in a three-year contract at $45/month, only to find out later on that it was a four-year contract (I was basically told one thing and wasn't smart enough to read that what I was signing was another) and that the slightest service change (like dropping a superfluous "wiring insurance") required breaking the contract (and paying a fee) and then signing a new contract.

Smith-Thompson came as a relief in the way that Netflix relieved us all from the evil Blockbuster. S-T may not be perfect, but they're the best bang for the buck out there. Even though I once had a terrible experience with one of their disgruntled techs, I have had way more positive experiences with them than negative. I have had two installations, one additional parts purchase, countless false alarms (due to doors or windows being left slightly ajar or me forgetting the alarm was on), and one technical support call and with the exception of that one "ex-cop" fellow, they were all more than satisfactory.

I don't know about you but I value not being locked into an overpriced contract. I do not feel I have sacrificed my safety for it as they have called within 15-30 seconds every single time my alarm has gone off.

They were on time. Technician was very friendly and super helpful with my question. He finished up quickly. I have never had any issues with Smith Thompson Home Security.
They have very reasonable pricing for monitoring and for service calls. I have only had one service call for my system in 10 yrs. This call was to upgrade my WiFi.

The representative is very knowledgeable and friendly. He arrived in time and professionally fixed the issue.

The issue is with the transmitter. The signal is weak due to the structure of the home. The representative added internet backup so that the call center will always receive alarm if triggered.

I researched a lot before choosing a security company. Smith Thompson has the best prices by far. We also loved the representative who came out to install - very friendly and competent. You can tell when someone likes their job and company and it definitely seemed that way with Smith Thompson. Would recommend to anyone.

Really great company to work with. I use them as my alarm and pest control service. I ve had this company for over 10 + years now and they will continue to be. When my daughter sets off the alarm, they go right down the line of contacts to reach us immediately. Our pest control techs are really cool. They call before they come. One even waited for me to wake up while being on the phone with my wife that wasn t there, lol. I have never seen any pest to where I have to call them back out again. Both services fit in our monthly and quarterly budgets. Just a great all around company.

We have used Smith Thompson pest control for almost 10 years. They are very professional. They come within the time slot you are scheduled for. If we have issues they will address those issues along with the normal pest control. Their technicians wear shoe covers so that they don't get your floors dirty. During this year of Covid their technician always has a mask. I would highly recommend Smith Thompson pest control for any insects, pests, mice, etc you may have in your home.

Obviously we were frustrated with the fact that our system wasn t working (worked with a gentleman from tech support who was very kind and was trying to help us.....but that all changed when we spoke to someone named Carla. We were told that Our security system has not be working for 30 days, no one notified us. Keep in mind we even did a vacation notice a early December you would think someone would tell us. I was very upset by this. I couldn t stop thinking about what if something happened, we would of never known. Carla provided the worst customer service. My request was for her to pass my number along to someone else that could help assist. She said I had to wait until the morning when, she had contacted them and spoke to them herself. I am not sure wwhat the big deal was for her to pass along my number to them so they could speak. Was it too much to ask? I just wish she could of understood how someone feels when they don t feel protected. You buy a security system to protect you, your family and your property.

I switched to Smith Thompson after poor customer service from my previous alarm company. So far, I am impressed.
The installation was squeezed into their schedule to accommodate our leaving town.
The technician was on time, very friendly and professional and took time to answer all my questions. They were able to use our existing system with a few small replacements. He tested everything to make sure it was working correctly, and he even found how to set the keypad audible settings to my liking.

They took care of the issue (replacement of keypad an upgrading of internal circuit card) and the tech Justin was courteous and demonstrated the new keypad to me.

So far I'd have to give Smith Thompson a 3+ rating. Previously I was a Vivint customer. Vivint is way too expensive for just monitoring so I decided to look for someone different. My neighbor, a cop, uses Smith Thompson so, on the basis of that as well as my own independent research, decided to give them a try on basis of cost and fact that my neighbor uses them

Overall I'm happy with them so far but still working out some kinks. Had an issue with connectivity that was internet related, not ST's fault and has since been resolved, but no one ever called me when I submitted a ticket to have corrected. Only other downside is initial cost of equipment. They offer 12 months same as cash but financing agreement for same heavily penalizes you (like double the cost) if you don't pay it off on time. And I have to wonder how much of a markup there is on the equipment. Seems like they should've been able to offer a better deal for the equipment. Only other downside is that you have to trigger the alarm on a monthly basis to ensure things are working. That's probably a good thing but still inconvenient

Pros are monthly cost and fact that when I initially had a problem they had someone call me back right away. Sean, the tech that called, seemed very professional, answered my questions right away, and got me back on track quickly. . Other benefit was that Sean gave me his number and told me to call him anytime if I had questions. Seemed very customer oriented and concerned about making sure his company offered superior service

Other pro is that ST is giving me a month's service for free to write the above review. The above is my honest opinion but, if not for that offer, I wouldn't have written the review. After all, why would I? They offered decent service at reasonable prices. That's what you expect...

Technician texted me when he was on his way and arrived promptly. Masked and distanced, he took time to answer my questions and explain what he was doing. Also took time to explain the new App and its features. Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly!!

I have used Smith Thompson for several years and am happy with them. I feel sorry for homes I pass by that have signs for pricier, snare-you-in-a-contract-for-life alarm companies.

I highly recommend Smith Thompson! Shoot, my mother uses them, too! My aunt was the one who researched them & recommended their service to my mom. Note that my aunt doesn't mess around with nonsense; she wants good service at a good price! As a result, I didn't hesitate to use Smith Thompson when it was my turn to start "adult-ing" and hire a home security company. Besides them being the official home security for Dallas Mavericks (GO ROCKETS), you can't beat them; they have great ratings, great service (I'm sorry my boyfriend keeps opening the door once we set the alarm; I'm also annoyed), great price, and a great option to use the previous alarm equipment if compatible (no wasting which I love).

They have a very good customer service department and are technicians are very courteous and professional when they come to service my house. Best of all you cannot beat their very affordable prices. Being new to the area I asked a few neighbors who said try smith Thompson. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We used them for their alarm monitoring, whole home lighting and pest control. How do you say PERFECT? Alarm is simple, home automation is inexpensive and easy to use and set up. Pest control expert knew everything about bugs and rodents and they set up system to monitor any action. Love this company!!!!!!
