christian and steven performed duct cleaning and were professional, timely, friendly, and they paid attention to cleanliness before and after, they looked at and solved several other duct issues in addition to the cleaning, and spoke honestly and clearly about system status and possible modifications. I had an appt on Mon, Jun 3 between 2-4 pm. I received a call from the office to inform me the technician was running late and would arrive about 330. Joshua called me at 315 and arrived at 335. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He serviced my AC unit within 30 minutes and informed me the capacitor would probably not last much longer. He told me the cost to replace and I told him to replace it. He checked his truck but did not have the part. He told me he could get the part and return the following morning and replace it. He did return and replaced the part. I was very satisfied with his service and Sierra Air. I would highly recommend Sierra Air for your heating and air conditioning service.
The guys servicing my furnace were very prompt, polite, and patient with me considering I have a serious hearing impairment, and I highly recommend them. I've been dealing with Sierra Air for over 13 years, and trust their expertise and experienced workers.

On Wed Jan 29th, Mike did a routine check of our heating system. He arrived early, went right to work, and completed the checkup. He was efficient, polite, and professional. We would like to have him come back again.
This was a scheduled appt. for a furnace check-up. Timothy was very professional and efficient. A part required replacement, which was apparent when he explained the situation and displayed the worn part. All went well except for a high-pitched hum, however, he seemed to diminish in time.
I had Sierra air service our A/C and furnace for a couple of years. The igniter on the furnace we were told by the tech. was going to fail so we had them replace it. The price for the part was $226.00. I thought that was a lot so I checked online. I found that home depot sells the part for $20.00 The other sites had similar prices. I know that a business has to make a profit. I think a markup of almost 1200% is excessive and gouging. I since have decided to never use Sierra Air again and would not recommend them to anyone.
All of our experiences with Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating have been excellent. They are always on time, well dressed and courteous to all our pets - 5 dogs and 3 cats. Normally whatever they have quoted for us is right on point. We have had property in Reno for the last 10 years and been using Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating for 8 of them. From Heat Pumps to Duct Work Cleaning all the way to full geothermal installation on one of our properties they have been fantastic everytime. If you have any problems with a furnace or a/c unit call Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating and they'll take care of you.
Our Service Tech was very knowledgeable, courteous and explained everything in detail. Our unit works better than ever. We have all our maintenance done with Sierra Air. Our unit is 14 yrs old, and the new items they installed will keep it running longer, saves us lots of money in the long run. We couldn t be happier
Sierra Air might be a great company but I never got far enough to see their service for myself. Warning to fellow Lake Tahoe residents, although they say they service Lake Tahoe, they will try to stick you with an extra $100 "travel fee" that you need to pay directly to the driver. This should be disclosed upfront and not when you are finalizing your appointment. Lake Tahoe residents, you can find someone here in town that will do the service for the same price and probably sooner (in my case Nixon came in cheaper and sooner).
The team came out to a 69 year old Senior and saw my OLD furnace (33 years and in a mobile home). Checked it out, replaced my 2 odd sized filters and gave me a lot of great information about it! They did a great job!

mike found the problem (gas fireplace) early on and fixed it in good time. somewhat of an issue with the bill but service manager resolved it with a call to us (after hours!) - have used them before and will use them again!

In my opinion, they oversold their monthly maitn program. I signed up in late 2018. Was told they would call me twice a year for scheduled maint on our heaters/air conditioning. For all scheduled maint I had to call them. For the Winter 2019 heater service, was told they could get to me in Feb 2020.
When I called and canceled today they did not ask why I was canceling. Took my service address and cancelled, no questions asked, but I would have thought they would want to try and keep me as customer.
Our air conditioner quit working We called Sierra Air and Duane the technician came and diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the capacitor. He checked all the rooms to make sure it was running as it should. Thank you Sierra Air - we are enjoying our cool home again during the summer.

Sierra Air advertises that they are available 24 hrs a day. I called them at 8:00 pm and was told they might be able to get to me tomorrow afternoon. I then found someone else to take care of my problem. I wrote a bad review on there web site which they never posted. Very lame Sierra Air, i would not recommend them now or never!!!

The service Tech. Frank was very friendly and knowledgeable. Frank helped me solve a problem that had been caused by another repairman who worked for another company. He explained what had been done by the other guy and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Frank and Sierra Air to anyone who is in need of their services.
If you are considering a duct cleaning, please do your research and ask questions. I am a senior with asthma and I can tell you from first hand experience that if things are not done properly this procedure can be problematic. There is more than one way to perform a duct cleaning. Research these methods online and choose the one you are most comfortable with. Then be sure the company you choose is using that method or one similar to it. Ask to see the filter in the machine before it is brought into your home. Be sure it is clean and that the technicians are not bringing the contaminants from God knows how many other homes into yours. If the company sprays a liquid into your ducts, ask what that spray contains and for what purpose. Be sure that the technicians perform the procedure entirely to proper guidelines and do not omit any steps. Do not be afraid to ask questions during the procedure if you are uncomfortable, and don't be afraid to take video with your cell phone if you are concerned.

The two tech who serviced my furnace units, Tim & Xavier, were great!! They were on time and were very careful about wearing booties in my house, which I appreciated. They explained a needed repair and completed their work quickly. No complaints from me!

We are on a monthly retainer with Sierra Air because we think they know their business and are honest. Kaden was our tech and arrived ahead of schedule... we were notified and approved his arrival. He was both professional and efficient. Gave a good report on the condition of our air conditioner and called in for the scheduling of another item of interest to us. My only complaint is that Sierra Air should schedule persons on retainers rather than requiring that we call in. In this case, when we didn't hear from them we called and it was last June... two months before they could come out. Otherwise, very satisfied

The entire team was very helpful, the call center (Kylie?) as well as our technician Kevin who was great. Our AC wasn't working and within 2 hours he'd gone in the attic, diagnosed the problem, given us the options, found the new part and replaced it. We had working AC again!!
Jorge was very professional and was the first to arrive and willing to wait to find the actual problem with our AC. Instead of thousands of dollars on a new condenser we paid less than $1000 to replace the faulty condenser fan motor and now I have a nice and cool house again. If I could give 10 stars, I would give them all to Jorge with Sierra Air! He has restored the Roy family's faith in humanity! He not only completed our air conditioning issue that David with Paul's Plumbing did not even address and wondered why he was even at our house and charged $160.00 just to change the filter seriously, I could have done that myself. Let me state that I was not there when he was there for the initial service call. After calling on the 4th of July holiday weekend, Caitlyn with Sierra Air actually answered the phone, and took action immediately to calm our fears and schedule a service call, unlike Paul's. On the service call, Jorge took his valuable time to make sure he was only going to do what he needed to complete our equipment needs to work efficiently and effectively all summer! He addressed my concerns and fixed the equipment to our and his satisfaction. He explained everything to me and my Mom! My husband and I have purchased a furnace and air conditioner in the last 4 years. No issues with the install. The furnace cover has a latch on it. We have changed filter a couple of times and the latch has broken a few times. My husband had called office and they set aside a couple of latches in the past. When it broke this week I was told they don't sell parts and could have someone out next week to fix but they would charge a service fee of about $80-89. It is a $2-5 part which my husband fixed last time. Considering the money we have spent with Sierra in last 4 years, I thought it would be no issue that a tech leave a latch for us in office so we can pick up. Very disappointed in the customer service I received. Will be going elsewhere in the future.

Mike, from the Reno service center came to service our airconditioning units. He was very nice and professional. He took his time in thoroughly cleaning our units and also took the time to show me how to keep debris from collecting in them. He also educated me on the way the central fan works so that I can cover the air conditioning units in the winter and not impair the air circulation.

My initial contact with Sierra Air was for the purpose of a thorough cleaning of the HVAC system of my new condo. My technician Jeff Leeper was extremely professional and informed me of my options every step of the way. I really liked that the decision was totally mine...I felt no pressure from him whatsoever in making up my mind. After getting a good look at the condition of the 40 year old unit I opted to have the motor and fans replaced, and everything else cleaned.
My schedule was extremely tight and I was a stressy mess about getting it replaced before I had to leave town. He was confident and calm, thus taking the pressure and worry off of my shoulders. He expedited the parts to be rushed from the east coast and (still working around MY ridiculous schedule) completed the job days before promised.
The work he did: cleaning the coils, vacuuming the entire ceiling space, ordering and replacing custom made filters, installing the new motor and fixing a broken door was stellar in every way. I really felt as though my job MATTERED TO HIM and I would highly recommend this company and specifically Jeff Leeper to anyone looking for honest, reliable, professional help with their HVAC systems!

Had them come last Friday to check my AC unit at my business. Came and said a part had to be ordered and he would return Tuesday to fix it. Although their initial response was prompt, it's Wednesday, never heard from the tech yesterday called for an update and was told they'd call me back with an update but never got a call. Called a different company yesterday and I'm not sure id ever consider these guys again. Business is in enough trouble without it being 95 degrees in our building and the AC company is non responsive.

An excellent company, quick and friendly service. Duane made two trips here to help us. The first was to diagnose the problem with our furnace and give us a repair quote. He was very understanding when I told him I needed to acquire some financial assistance to pay for the repair and told me to call him when I had the funds. I called two days later and he was on his way. The furnace was fixed quickly...Now I'm warm again!
Update: Sierra Air contacted me after writing this review. They were unable to assist any further with our problem, but stood behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee. As a result, they fully refunded our payment. I wish they would have been able to resolve our problem, but appreciate how professionally and honestly the company handled themselves after our incident. Due to post size limits, I've removed the majority of the original review, but a summary remains.
Backstory: New house, popping noise from attic. Noise only occurs when furnace is running, and normally at night. Failed to troubleshoot alone, needed professional help.
First contact: Requested Sierra Air come out to investigate the attic sound. Made it clear it was a difficult issue to figure out. Rep confirmed and reassured us.
Service call: The tech (Kyle) arrived promptly at the scheduled time and called ahead to say he was on his way. He started by turning on the furnace and inspecting the unit. He couldn t find any problems and thought it was in good shape. Next, he decided to look in the attic (where we believe the source of the problems are). At this point, the noise wasn t happening. Kyle propped up his ladder and stuck his head in the attic he mentioned that there was a lot of insulation and he couldn t see anything wrong. The noise then started up, but the tech never entered the attic and couldn't determine the source of the issue.
After: Kyle s suggestion was for us to crawl into the attic and try to figure out where the sound was coming from more specifically. He did provide a few ideas (it could be this, or it could be that) possibly add some sound dampening material. He couldn t help any more than that. Kyle did knock the price down, from the original quote of $89 to $69. Afterwards, we received a receipt from Sierra Air describing the work. It incorrectly states that the sound could not be recreated while the tech was present.
Overall, Sierra Air was unable to resolve our issue or provide any meaningful assistance. Based on our discussion with their rep, we were given a false impression that they would be able to do something. The tech was not helpful. If you have a clear-cut issue, this company may be able to help.

We spent close to $20,000 having 2 new furnaces and A/C installed. Sierra Air have been very supportive even fixing a few minor issues that arose one year later.

The only reason I did not rate them on value is that I selected them because I trusted their work and did not compare pricing with other companies. That I could trust their work ethic was most important to me.

What a great experience with Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating. We have been having continous problems with our duct work and air flow into our home. Some of our rooms are super cool and warm throughout the year and some have no air coming into them at all. We have used several ac and heating companies here in reno with no luck fixing the problem until Sierra Air came out and fixed our entire operation. Very happy about their duct work cleaning program which has fixed the problem completely. If you need a quality ac heating company who knows everything about duct work cleaning and dryer and vent services you should call these guys. Great with Air Quality.
