Sierra Air Inc Review

I called Sierra air for a super tune up on my air conditioner. During the tune up the technician found a wasp nest in the electrical contactor. The contactor was also pitted and burned (worn out). The technician had the replacement part on the truck and finished the job during the same appointment.

I was very pleased with the tech that came out. The first thing he did before entering my house was put on booties to not drag any dirt in. The tech was very knowledgeable and explained everything allowing us to make decisions. The price was worth it because of the service we got.

I can't say thank you enough. Despite them being booked up today they were able to fit me in to take a look at and repair my AC unit that went down last night. They saved me half the cost I was going to pay through another company. Tyrone was awesome and very professional thank you again and again I definitely recommend sierra AC.

I have been a part of the Sierra Air family for years. They are professional, kind and most of all prompt with appointments!

Called on Tuesday and scheduled service for Thursday. An hour later I received a call stating that they had a Technician (Frank) who finished a job early and was available to look at my HVAC problem right then. Frank arrived ten minutes later and had the problem identified within just minutes more.
I don't want to insinuate that everyone who calls Sierra Air will be squeezed in right away and have their HVAC problem solved quickly and inexpensively. What I can say is that the experience I had with Sierra Air would be hard to top. Under promised and over delivered. Frank was very friendly and knew his stuff. If your in the unfortunate situation of needing HVAC help, I would highly recommend Frank and Sierra Air.

A/C was not cooling properly. Eric was my representative, and he was awesome. He inspected everything, checked vents, cleaned filters and showed me what to do on a yearly basis. Everything works fine now.

Sierra Air is wonderful. Michael Hernandez and his partner Carlos, just finished cleaning our air ducts and we feel the difference. They even cleaned the dryer ducts, and the amount of dryer lint that was there made my jaw drop. OMG, that was a dryer lint fire avoided.

They came when they said, were thorough and professional, very friendly, and explained what they were doing. I would like to say to Michael Hernandez and his partner Carlos, " thank you so much guys. You did a great, wonderful, terrific job". We are definitely going to recommend Sierra Air.

I left a message with the answering service after 10pm on a Friday night. A few minutes later, Jack called back and said he could make it out the next day. He did, with good communication, reasonable price. Also, he's a nice guy who fixed our AC on the first try.

Arrived on time, checked us for problems with the unit and went right to work with maintenance

Recently my AC went out so I called Sierra Air they came out and gave me an estimate I had them replace the AC and Furnace since it was an old unit, now I have a system that keeps me comfortable cool. On a side note the thermostat came loose so txt Mr Ky he came out to see what what s wrong and in no time had it fixed thanks Sierra Air for a job well done.

I am part of the Home Comfort Club and I am happy to have them come service my heating and air-conditioning twice a year. Kevin was here this week to service my air conditioner, and was very professional, helpful and explained everything very thoroughly so that I could understand it. He was even nice to my doggie :-) I highly recommend Sierra air and Kevin!

We have the scheduled services with Sierra air and they have been awesome! They always call to remind us when service is due and come promptly for maintenance. We haven't had to use any emergency services but I'm sure they'll be as great as they have been Thanks Sierra air!

Mike was excellent! He installed 3 Nest units, explained everything and took his time to get it all set up correctly. He also helped with a few other related issues in the home with a great attitude. He is quite knowledgeable. Thank you.

They were on time, the Service Tech did a great job and left no mess behind. Took everything with them went they left. Would I use them again. Yes they did I what they said they we going to do.

Very professional

I joined the Sierra Air "Comfort Club" for twice annual preventive maintenance on my HVAC for my home in Wingfield Springs that we rent out while our full time residence is in Oregon. Our tennent texted me that the A/C is working but that it's making a rattling noice. I said great, call Sierra Air for the A/C preventive maintenance inspection. He did the tech showed up the next day, found the issue, and said even though the motors working that the bearings are going bad and the motor should be replaced. He said it would be $550 but refused to give any detail on the billing because he was too busy, and he wouldn't be able to do the preventive maintenance work he was there to do. I couldn't believe he was "too busy" to give me detail, which seemed like he had license to charge me anything he wanted. All the office did was process my payment in full, which include a $70 service call fee + no detail on the hours of labor. BTW the Home comfort club's first bullet point feature is that you get "Discounted labor and parts pricing."

This is a warning to be careful what you pay for, as things aren't always as they're described.

Sierra Air responded to my dissatisfaction after several calls to the by ONLY waiving the service call fee. Still no billing detail and I'm too frustrated and exhausted by the poor service that I'll just pay the bill and not beg for the billing detail... What a way to ruin your day being treated like a second class citizen.

We'd been having reoccurring issues with our older furnace, and we thought for sure it might be time to replace it. Thankfully, our technician Mike did a very thorough and involved diagnostic that included him checking and re-checking all sorts of things inside, out, etc. and he discovered it was actually an electrical problem with our thermostat all along and NOT the furnace. He was so honest and professional, I couldn't believe it. If and when the time comes to replace the furnace someday, we will absolutely use them.

I am very pleased with Sierra Air, and their service team. I always ask for Frank Noski to service my heating and air. He is very professional and I know I can count on the job being done, and I don t have too worry about it.

Hired them for duct cleaning/dryer vent cleaning. They somehow had an opening the next day! Frank came early- and was incredibly professional, orderly, and clean. It was quite expensive- much more than we would have paid in MN, but it needed to be done! Would hire again.

Terrible experience with this company. Initially called Sierra Air because our home furnace stopped working. The technician told me that the ignitor was out and that it would be $500 to replace, but we should really replace the whole system because it was in bad condition. At this point they sent a design specialist to give us a quote on a entirely new system. The lowest priced model was over $6500, the highest was over $12,600, which my household can not afford. After receiving a second opinion we were informed that our furnace is in fine condition and the ignitor we needed to replace was a $40 part. I proceeded to purchase this part and replaced it myself easily.

I am shocked that this company is trying to take advantage of people in this way, I was almost conned out of $12,000 for what was a $40 repair. I regret paying this company a $90 diagnostic fee, wouldn't recommend this company under any circumstances.

EDIT: In response to the reply below I have uploaded a photo of our quote. Also I feel I should reiterate that the only issue with our furnace was a faulty ignitor.

We have been completely satisfied with the service provided by Sierra Air. They have been prompt, reliable and efficient.

My elderly parents heater died. When I called, Linda, was very compassionate. She managed to get a service rep out the day I called and they fixed the problem. Thank you Sierra Air and it does pay to be a Home Comfort Club member.

Called them today about a small issue that was overlooked on our recent service appointment.

Well, they are coming out to take care of it within a couple days at no charge! That's excellent customer service and we now plan to sign up for their annual service for our new house!

I got off work May 26, 2017 and noticed by central air unit wasn't cooling my house down so I gave Sierra Air a call. One of their technicians, Richard Hilstad, showed up and found out my unit had a bad capacitor. He replaced that and got my unit up and running again, but most importantly, it didn't put a severe dent in my wallet. I still got to enjoy Memorial Day weekend. Thank you Sierra Air.

Sierra Air technicians have been servicing my HVAC home system for several years. The service technicians have done a very professional job. Today Cirilo was the person sent to do the work. He did an excellent job. He took time to answer my questions and describe to me what he was doing. I highly recommend him as a service technician.

I recently blamed Sierra Air for "bad work" done by a completely different company. They didn't just ask me to correct the reviews, they offered to fix the other company's mistakes for no charge. That's an outstanding offer, I'm very impressed.

I've been doing business with Sierra Air for more than seven years. They have consistently exceeded my expectations. Their technicians are thoroughly trained and will explain their test results and explain if they are "normal" or out of range. They recommend upgrades and replacements that are industry standards. I have used them for repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance and have never been concerned that I was "over sold". We need more service organizations like this. As far as I am concerned this is a "benchmark" company.

The guys listened to our problem, and though they were there to do the AC inspection, they resolved a furnace issue.

Very professional organization and repair representative. Joe did a great job. I did get another service provider to give me an phone estimate. After describing the problem they said I would need a bunch of parts and it would be about $350. With Sierra Air is was only $175 and Joe didn't even need to replace any parts after testing them.

Kevin was prompt, knowledgeable and very personable. He discussed and orchestrated recommendations to prolong the life of our compressor. We are new to the Reno area and Sierra Air has earned our brand loyalty.

They fit me for a next-day appointment and I appreciate it. The service tech was Sterling and he was outstanding! Low-key, matter-of-fact, and explained everything I needed to know to make a decision.

I absolutely loved the service I was provided during my service call. I had my air duct system cleaned out as well as the furnace filters changed out.
The staff was extremely nice and professional. They got the job done fairly quickly and answered all my questions.
I would recommend Sierra Air to my family and friends in a heartbeat.

Mr Hernandez called prior to arriving and Wore a mask and booties the entire time. My House was quite chaotic that Day but nothing seemed to bother This young man. He left the House without Any tracked in dirt. He was especially kind to my young granddaughter. I Would highly recommend this Service and Mr Hernandez in particular!

Joe from Sierra Air was a great guy! He arrived at my house right on time, and was very professional and courteous. My A/C unit is working great and I will call them again in the future.

We live in Winnemucca and our air conditioning went out on a Friday afternoon with temps in the 90's. We called Sierra Air and had a return call that evening with instructions that Joe would return our call as soon as he was able. We received a call within an hour and Joe assured us he would be to our home after his last customer of the day. He came that evening and within less than an hour he located the problem and advised he needed to purchase a part the next day and would be back to replace it. He spent his Sunday morning repairing our central air unit and cleaned it thoroughly of all debris. We in Winnemucca, and Sierra Air, are fortunate to have a knowledgeable, conscientious, and kind repairman such as Joe. Thank you!

I had my air conditioner looked at by them {I'm horrible with names and can not remember the names of the 2 gentlemen that came out and wished I had to give them the credit they deserve} and I am very pleased with them and how they handled things. After they did a full inspection of the air conditioner unit they let me know that the issue was that my system had a restriction on it causing it to freeze at times. They told me the refrigerant had been phased out like ten years ago. They also told me that tying to fix the restriction on it could cost me thousands and that it wouldn't be guaranteed. The recommendation is a new system. But it wasn't something that I needed to do right away, but to try and plan for it in the near future. I truly appreciated their honesty instead of trying to get me to pay thousands {Don't have it anyways} to "try" and fix it. They came wearing masks and followed protocol for COVID-19 precautions. When we can get the new system I will not hesitate to call them for the service to be provided.

So unfortunately I have come back to change my star rating because after telling us all they did the air conditioner went completely out and I decided against calling back to be charged again to have them tell me I need a new unit. My husband did HVAC work years ago. My husband pulled out the AC unit tested the capacitor and guess what..... it was completely bad!!!! We also test the motor and the motor is just fine. This tells me things that should have been tested first were not tested at all! New capacitor put in by my husband and the A/C is working better than ever! Less than 5 bucks and a few hours of our time. Like we now do with our cars we work on them! We don t take them to the shop anymore and so I guess the A/C and heating unit will be the same!

Fantastic company; Sterling did a great job troubleshooting and solving our HVAC issue. Would highly recommend.

Customer Service was very helpful when I called for information. Their Tech, James, called to say when he was on his way and arrived within the time frame I had been given. He was very pleasant and efficient, located a problem we were not aware of, and arranged to have it repaired.

Estimator wasn't professional and had a take it or leave it attitude. Also, they refuse to write estimates anymore. I've used Sierra air for two other heating and air systems but I won't be using them again after being treated like cattle.

Furnace was mis-firing on start. Technician "James" found debris in vent line - extracted debris.

5 stars for Alex for coming out and handling the problem very quickly and was very nice and friendly.

4 stars overall because I'm less impressed with the office side - had issues scheduling, and turned out I wasn't scheduled at all, which I found out at the end of the day I took off to deal with these things. They did get someone out though the same day, which I appreciate.

Overall, would use them again but confirm the appointment better the first time.
