Stayed here over the weekend for a performance conference at Carnegie Hall, up the street. Incredible experience! The hotel was beautiful, kept in very top shape. The cleaning staff was pleasant, kind and very thorough in their job. I would love to stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Times Square area.

It looks like the staff is as tired as you when you arrive to check in, jetlagged. Staff was unfriendly especially the coat check clerk. He hates being here just as you do. However the lady who checked me in was nice. The room is beige, sad, tired. In extreme need of a makeover. No one tells you anything upon check in. Where to go, what to expect, where are the amenities. Towels are stacked on the bathroom counter. Room smells funny. Avoid, if you can.
Old style New York hotel. Perfect location. Be carreful, despite having the "do not disturb" sign hanging at the door, housekeeping knocked twice at the door and enter. May be disturbing if you sleep early due to jet lag.
Very classy hotel in the heart of NewYorkCity but the water in the shower and it's pressure is really bad, also in buffet breakfast can't request any eggs without extra charge
Location is 2 minutes away from Times Square and 5 minutes away form any Broadway musicle. Rooms are great and tidy. The ibly negative is that internet in the rooms are expensive. However if you are nice to the person who checks you in you might get it for free. Which is what happened to me.
Just checked in. The couch in the room was worn, shredded and dirty. The minibar choices, 2 drink cans and a box of cookies, were all dusty. Phone was really dirty, too. Complained and they put us in an up graded room where the couch fabric was torn (and not a little), and thread bare. The bed squeaks with every move. Hard to enjoy your stay under these conditions. They put all of their money into public areas like the lobby and nothing into maintaining the rooms. Spend a little more and walk a few short blocks to the Marriott Marquis.
Great hotel great staff. We learned about the usual smaller hotel room size in New York. The hotels location worked fantastic for our tourist days and was convenient to everything including subways,Central Park and the museums. Would stay there again. A few people complained about the elevators....no need just read the signs and use your head. Some complained about it needing some updates, sure but not top of the list.
Dirty room, especially the bed and sheets. Had to be moved to an other room. The new one had a bad smell. No help after that. Breakfast was poor and small. The lobby was too full, and the staff was unfriendly. Only 2 stars for being so close to timesquare.
Room on the top floor but with dividers from other rooms with light doors where the neighbors can be seen and heard .. never again. I sent an email of complaints seen 8 days of stay but did not proceed to anything.
Going in for a con, and the staff was nice and pleasant. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The mics and av were great, the main road was tight but clearly laid out. It was cold but that was better than being too hot. Overall the hotel really helped my experience go great.
Clearly the guest is not the focus of this conveniently located and crowded hotel. Management leaves much to be desired as we only had 1 person working at the front desk during check in time (for a line that would take more then 1h to go through). I d/w manager but no immediate action was taken. Breakfast was regular and overpriced...walk a little and you can be better served. I'll try another hotel when returning to visit NTC.
1. You get a tiny hotel room with what is basically twin beds, not double.
2. Fridge is completely useless filled with overpriced products.
3. No free Wifi, I understand if you want faster internet or you want to unlock the Netflix/Hulu bandwidth option- but not even basic internet in a hotel that is in a place where the reception is bound not to be good.
4. Reception/check-in area is awful, understaffed, and unhelpful and the check-in and checkout process takes far too long.
5. Elevators are wonky AF and unreliable.
6. Back to the beds, most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in.
7. They have HD TVs but a very slim selection of HD channels and if you're looking for HBO, whelp not going to happen.
I've stayed at 4/4.5 star hotels my entire life and this one has to be the worst one I've stayed at. Next time I head to NY I'll make sure to spend my money elsewhere.
Convenient location to Broadway and of course Times Square. The bed in room 1008 is old. Body indentation in the mattress on both sides with a high spot in the center. Entrance doors upon closing is very LOUD. The elevators are horribly slow. No WiFi. The only two positives and the reasons I'm giving it three stars are its prime location and the flow of water from the shower head. The water flow is the best I have ever experienced at a hotel.
I've been to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade at least 15 times. The staff remembers me the room are clean and the location is perfect for walking to attractions or catching the subways to the other Burrows's. I always stay at The Sheraton New York Towers.
This Sheraton is located in a good spot a few blocks north of times square away from the crowds. However the hotel is starting to show its age. Many of the amenities are well worn and don't feel very exclusive, but given the size and number of people that stay at this hotel every day, its expected.
As an SPG platinum member, I was offered a room upgrade and the elevator ride up to the top floor was quite exciting. The rooms on the top floors are renovated, and with more modern amenities and great views, but the furniture still looked rather worn. The lounge was located on a lower floor, with a good view of times square. I don't have much to say about the other hotel amenities, because no one should spend all their time in NYC in their room.
The hotel is in a good spot to see times square and Rockefeller plaza, however will require walking and subway travel to many other attractions especially dining in the village. This particular part of midtown would cater much better to business travelers.
Friendly staff. Spacious and well equipped rooms. Was staying here for a conference and our company used the meeting rooms and the suites. All the rooms were well laid out and comfortable. The fitness centre is better than most gyms. Highly recommend. They have a convenience store and a FedEx on premises. The subway station is right next door. I would advise that you step out and explore a bit for the food options though.
Right up the block from times square. In the heart of the Theatre district. 10 minutes for check was not bad. Very clean lobby and rooms. Bed is comfy and the hotel has a decent bar.
AC is lacking in some parts but overall it's a very nice hotel.
Location was decent. My room did have a view of other buildings and not much else but I wasn't selective and that's to be expected with NY lol. The room was perfectly clean anything I needed was available. There's a mini fridge stocked as well as a snack bar though those items must be paid for. Starbucks Coffee available in the room as well and of course free. The only thing that wasn't right was my shower. It didn't seem to have a decent warm setting. Either it was too hot or just a tad under warm and a little too cool for me. Maybe it was a malfunction with the shower. But it wasn't too much of a bother to me. Very nice and great stay overall.
The attention of your staff and meets my expectations for example the Lunch club or the attention of the staff of the reception, in reality all the staff
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was for the price. The staff is extremely friendly from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The location was great! Far enough from the noise of Times Square but just a short walk to the fun and, in the other direction, to Central Park. Be prepared for their new practice of charging a $25 service fee per night that can be used at their restaurant, club lounge (if you re a member) or on a few other amenities. If you don t use the credit you lose it. This was not disclosed when I booked with Expedia so I wasn t too happy to find out upon check in. Not to mention the restaurant wasn t great other than the $32 breakfast. Who wants to feel like they need to use their credit when the city has far better places to spend $25 at? Rooms were smallish but clean and tidy. Do not let your kids touch the refreshment bar unless you don t mind paying $9 for a single size Pringles chips. Overall a good experience and I would go back.
This hotel is amazing. It is very clean and the staff always treats the guests with respect. There was never an issue with anything while I stayed here. It is in an amazing location, being 5 blocks from Times Square and within walking distance of everything you would ever need in Manhattan. The door man will also flag down cabs for you.
Dificult to talk to everybody. Always busy. Can use fridge because is only full of cans for sale and with a sensor, I was charged for only the sensor inside de frige and then they deliveted all back.
This was my third stay at this hotel. The beds are comfortable and clean. The location of this hotel is fabulous. It is right next to two metro lines and very close to Times Square and Broadway theatres. Starbucks coffee is located in the room as well. The shower is clean and there are plenty of towels for use. Staff is professional and efficient. The rooms are not huge but have all the space you need. There is a great gym located in the lower level of the hotel with all equipment needed for a thorough workout.
Room was nice. Reception desk on arrival and particularly on checkout was not welcoming nor pleasant. Staff member entered incorrect expiry date on credit card transaction resulting in card declined. Very abrupt and rude attitude. Not what you expect when arriving or departing. Woud not stay here again based on this experience. Ticket /theatre booking/ concierge staff very helpful and welcoming.
Can only give 3 stars because there was no mini fridge or microwave. These appliances are no longer luxuries. I did not verify these appliances before I booked. But expected them at a Sheraton. Hotels way more inexpensive, but are 3 and 4 star hotels, have these amenities. Fortunately, they were able to secure a mini fridge, which was necessary for my insulin and juice. They do not provide microwaves. Needed to heat Bed Buddy for arthritic back. Long days of sight seeing caused much pain and needed heat treatment at night. Room size was typical for NYC. Breakfast buffet prices were outrageous, even for NY. Plus selections were limited. Staff was professional and friendly. Problem with toilet was fixed in a reasonable time. Scattered service for internet, direct tv was spotty at times. Rooms fairly clean. Housekeeping didn't empty trash every day.
Very nice hotel. Easy access to good restaurants, Times Square and subway. Clean rooms. Comfy. Could use a fridge for personal items. Shower mechanism needed fixing. Overall, I would stay again.
The Sheraton had everything I needed for a visit to NYC! Reasonably priced, clean rooms with very friendly staff willing to help. The location was perfect for accessibility to Times Square and Central Park within comfortable walking distance. Will definitely be back!
Disappointed with the room. Asked for 2 queen beds. Got full beds. My bed rocked when I rolled over, thought it was on a log. All the pillows were so soft and flat. Not a comfortable nights sleep.
The room was great, the staff was great. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is that after checkout we needed to store our bags abs there was a charge to have us do that. I've stayed in a lot of places in New York, but this is the first that charged to hold on to our bags for 3 hours. For being a four star hotel I was very surprised by that charge.
Update: I'm dropping this to 2 stars because after we picked up and paid for our bags, they wouldn't let my wife use the restroom because we "had already checked out." What kind of nonsense is that? I expect much better customer service from a hotel that claims to be 4 stars.
We stayed here whilst we were in New York. it's location in Times Square made it ideal, and as it was our wedding anniversary they upgraded our room putting us on the top (50th) floor. The staff were all fantastic, and advised us the best way to get around as during our stay there were European deligates and president Trump in the city so traffic was manic. Only dissapointing part was the hotel charged our credit card with items we hadn't used after we'd checked out. Our travel adviser wasn't very happy, refunded us and is taking it up with the hotel herself. This was the only black mark on an otherwise brilliant holiday.
Much in decline after many years. Avoid at all costs the $32.50-a-person breakfast. Cheapest option ($24) gets you something the call oatmeal but is your basic gruel.
