Bathroom had what appeared to be black mold around the shower handle and under the mirror at the sink, shower tile chalking was yellow and brown, wall paper was coming off wall, shower had hair on wall, our room never really cooled off, but the beds were comfortable. Waiting for my bill to see what they charged my account, gave us WF password but did not tell us we were going to be charged, front desk clerks not the nicest that I have encountered, probable will not stay there again.

Great central location in Manhattan. Very nice hotel. The rooms were a little small but could still fit a king bed inside. The hotel had a lot of traffic so doors were constantly opening which we could hear in our room. Housekeeping was very nice which we appreciated.

Great hotel, very central, but we asked for room for 4 and they gave us 2 very small double beds, that if you go with friends you have to sleep together ... it's a disaster, and watch out for the.wifi in the room, it's .very expensive

What a great welcome! Nicole could not have been more gracious. The Sheraton should be proud to have such an exemplary team member! The bar has been set high for the remainder of our stay! Thanks Nicole!

-Location is ideal
-Room very spacious of Manhattan standards
-Best value for a national recognized luxury hotel
What more could we ask for!

We reached the hotel and they have an agreement with a parking lot. We paid $60 for 24 hours. Not a problem. However my friend left her wallet in the car and they told us we could not get it. As there is no in and out privileges. So for $60 if you leave your wallet in the car you cannot get your car because you have to pay for the car before you can get it. The hotel told us they cant do anything about it.

Then when we finally got to our room I was about to take a shower when dirty water started coming up from the drain and it smelt awful.

I called guest services at approximately 7:15 pm about the drain problem and the bubbling water. At 7:20 pm I also called back to ask that someone come and clean the tub. An engineer person arrived at 7:50 pm saying that he only had a spray for the stink smell. So they reported the wrong problem.

I had to call again to report the same problem again while the engineer was in the room so he could go and get the drano.

I called back at 8:05 pm as no one came to clean the tub. At this time I was frustrated and it was new years eve and we needed to get ready to reach our black tie event at 9:00 pm.
So on this call I asked to speak to the manager and was told someone would contact me.

I'm still waiting for the manager to contact me .

Oh and housekeeping came at 8:27 pm.

Also when you Google this hotel it says " Free Wi-Fi" they lied this is a misrepresentation as there is no free Wi-Fi its $14.95 for 24 hours for 3 devices.

As a follow up to this review. I also reviewed them on TripAdvisor and they responded then disabled the comments. Also, they pretended to reach out to me but it was a fake attempt. They called and left a voicemail and when I tried to call back multiple times at the number they left no one answered. Then I went on TripAdvisor to follow up to when they commented they called but they disabled the ability to respond.

Stunningly attractive place, excellent service, courteous staff, and consistently exuded a feeling of grandeur and excellece. Their security went above and beyond when celebrities were staying here, to keep the tabloid obsessed rabble out and maintain their guests' privacy.

As a Conventioneer attendee I found the overall Convention staff less than attentive to customer service. Convention facilities Management 's attitude was sourly unresponsive. There attention to detail barely existed. Having a mother who was well schooled in Hotel/Banquet management (graduate of Cornell school of Hotel management and previously employed by Sheraton) I believe with my own personal experience (22 yrs.) in Restaurant/Hospitality services industry I'm well qualified to assess customer services and wouldn't recommend to any potential party seeking a Convention site hosting to this particular location.
Respectfully, F.L.M.

The hotel's location is great. It was centrally located to the events I attended. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Here's the "but". It took me 50 minutes to check in. When i got to my room, I found the carpet seeping wet. I contacted guest services to report the problem and was offered a different room. It took seven phone calls and more than three hours to get into a new room and I had to move myself.

I found the experience to be far below my expectation and the standards of other Sheraton properties.

Great location and reasonable quality for the price, at least on the SPG Preferred floors. This is a massive hotel and operation - you're pretty much anonymous. Platinum lounge small, with limited offering and overcrowded.

Overall the outside noise is quiet which is nice. But the sound in the rooms next door, the check in process and room reservation process was horrible. I requested a refrigerator in my room due to a food allergy issue and they assured me that I would have a fridge and yet when I showed up I never got a fridge. The door next door to me is so loud that I jump every time they close the door because it sounds like they are closing my door.

2 stars for the great location BUT the worst hotel I stayed at. Filthy outdated SMALL rooms, upcharges wherever they can ie luggage storage, gym access and one drink minimum in lobby sitting area or you can't sit there. Don't bother calling the front desk the wait time is an hour. The elevator idea is fast BUT only if the hotel isn't busy. I waited 10 minutes for the elevator from the workout room. You type your floor number on a screen and prompts you to take elevator L2 or L4. Only great experience I had was the 810 Deli across the street. Pay alil more for the Hilton or similar a few blocks ahead. And if you do stay there get a room away from the elevator and away from the 14th floor most uncomfortable bed we had to switch rooms. Thx for reading.

If you are looking for a nice 3-star experience, this is your place. This place is busy but not congested. The food is below average but they get extra points for not having plastic shower curtains. The rooms are larger than your average NY hotel and beds firm without bed bugs. Not my first choice of hotels but not my last. Also - good location right off subway and close to Central Park

Beautiful large spacious hotel. Pleasant and helpful staff at check in. Enjoyable stay. Fitness centre is great. Neat and tidy......only downside is..no fridge in room. This is a convenience and they charge $50 ,if you need one. . Otherwise enjoyable stay at the hotel. Close to various restaurants...entertainment areas etc.

Old business hotel, crowded, but in a perfect location. Rooms are okay. Clean but small and very noisy (you can hear everything that's outside the room, as if the door would be open)
My bedsheets had holes, the shower water pressure is way to low.
Roomservice was good, overall the staff was mostly friendly and helpful.

Due to a computer system issue, I had to wait an hour in the lobby with 20-30 other disgruntled guests once I arrived at ~9pm; not exactly what I want to be doing after a 9 hour flight. To add insult the injury, there was no one servicing the SPG Premier line and four people tending to the non-SPG Premier line (way to reward loyalty...).

When they finally got their act together, I was given my key and I went up to my room, only to find that it was occupied.. I walked in on someone changing. Went downstairs and got a new card; same deal.. woke someone up as I opened the door. Took them 3 times to get it right.

In the end, they upgraded my room to a suite, but if given the choice, I would not stay here again.

I stayed with my family, the first week of August. We had 4 rooms, as we were traveling with my parents, sisters, children and others. As soon as we arrived and despite having 4 rooms for 3 nights, they told us that we had to pay for the WIFI. What century do they live in?
The second surprise was the musty smell in almost every room. I'm allergic.
The third and final surprise was when we left the hotel and reached the next destination on our trip. When we opened the suitcases we realized that we were missing a lot of clothes. All mine and my children (nothing from my husband). I was quite surprised because they were things that were in different suitcases (it was a 25-day trip), but hey, you think that anyone can have a mistake ... Here the drama begins.

As soon as I missed my belongings, I wrote to the hotel, which soon replied saying that they did indeed have my "belongings". They asked me to fax my credit card and they would send me the clothes. But with what company? How much was that worth? What guarantees did I have to give my credit card via fax? I wanted to organize the shipment (MYSELF, WHICH IS MY CLOTHES) and receive it at the next hotel we were going to in Miami. But no. I got up to 3 emails from them giving me the same instructions all the time, with up to 3 different senders.

In the end I gave up and decided to wait to get to Spain, send the card details and pay whatever was necessary. Fourth surprise? Suddenly there was SILENCE. No one has replied to any emails since.

Within 3 days it will be a month of this and I will not be able to recover my belongings, as the hotel indicates in its policy: they keep your belongings for only one month.

The Sheraton is in a great location in between Central Park and Times Square and is also close to shopping on 5th Avenue. The hotel itself is very nice and elegant upon arrival. If you are platinum, the club is great. The new elevator system takes some getting used to, but once you do, it is actually a great system and very fast! The room is where it started to fall apart. The full size beds are tiny and hard as a rock. Three linens were very nice. The towels were worn and the toilet paper was sandpaper. I would give it a3.5, but that's not an option. With a little more effort, this could be a terrific hotel.

An absolutely amazing hotel for NYC first-timers and even returning visitors. The location is perfect for several reasons: there is a subway terminal leading straight to the JFK airport (and others) right outside the hotel, it is a few blocks from Times Square and the Rockefeller center without the noise, Central Park is less than 5 minutes away, and there are also great food places are around the block. The staff here was superb and very helpful. I really couldn't have imagined a better place to stay for my first time in NYC.

Things were pretty clean and mostly okay, the rooms are small but I didn't spend much time in my room anyway. I didn't talk to many of the staff members, but my first two encounters were so terrible that I was turned off from the hotel immediately. They were both working at the front desk and were rude and very snappy with me. I know New Yorkers are famous for being rude, but this was a little much. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome and was afraid to even ask questions because I didn't want another eye roll or snappy order. There was a security guard who was kind enough to help me and answer my questions and actually seem human instead of stone, so that helped, but I was very frustrated with the customer service here. Other than that, the location is nice and everything else was fine but I won't be staying here again.

Cool
