THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had with hospitality people. I reached here at 3 am after driving 10 hours with my older and tired parents. I had my booking at this place and money paid. I went to the front desk and this dude, started to yell at me saying that his system is uploading and can't do anything and threw the tablet at me. I even told me that "I am calm and trying to be nice" but this guy kept yelling at me and his two friends who were right there standing were trying to intimidate us. I never yelled at him or even raised my voice, I just wanted a room as I had been promise. When I asked him his name, he gave me his name as "RAY RAY"(which is fake I know) and threw the paper at me. SHAME ON YOU EXTENDED STAY AMERICA. SHAME ON YOU!

HORRIBLE HOTEL, disgraceful front desk service "never present", no breakfast, beds are not clean, nothing is close by, dirty building, defiantly don't recommend this place at all.
Nice clean hotel staff was OK. Room was very clean it look like hotel is new are done over. It was very hard getting to hotel. The address they use don't come up on GPS. Got great price of 50.00 on a Saturday night from price line name your own price. it also helps that the NY Giants stinks.
Stayed here for when I saw the Dolphins play the Jets. Staff was friendly and the hotel was nice, I enjoyed my room. Only problem was I couldn't connect to the wifi and I couldn't walk anywhere due to it being right on the freeway. Good place to stay if you're there for a football game but if you want to see NYC, probably not ideal.
The hotel was conveniently located to freeway for easy access. The hotel is family friendly and allowed pets. There was a nice community room with TV and lounge chairs, a laundry room and very clean. We were pleased that they participate in the Southwest Rewards program. I was able to use my accumulated points to earn a free night for my family. I can DEFINITELY say the Price was RIGHT!!
The hotel was nice and in a convenient location to Meet Life Stadium. However, I had a general "dirty" feel in the hotel. Bed pillows looked a bit dirty with stains on them. Not the best hotel I've been to, but still recommend if you need a convenient place near the stadium.
It's quite good. However you don't get housekeeping on weekends which isn't specified anywhere. Also the WiFi is quite slow unless you pay for higher speed WiFi.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed, there will be no utensils provided unless asked. The utensils provided are very dirty and you cannot use them to cook even. The staff are very very rude and have no knowledge to address our concerns. Better stay away from this hotel. I am totally disappointed.
This hotel was very clean and met all of my expectations. The staff is very friendly and will help you with what you need very promptly. It's located right across from Metlife Stadium but you cannot walk across the highway to get to it - so you'll need to drive or get a ride.
I d highly discourage anyone from coming here. Aside from the staff doing anything in their power to get you to just leave them alone including lying straight to your face, the entire building smells of cigarettes and marijuana out of the five rooms that they bounced us between the heat only worked in 1 of them, they are anything but clean and there is a good chance you ll find either bugs or mold somewhere in your room. Me and boyfriend stayed here over the weekend and when we went into the first of five rooms it was very clear that someone had been in there prior to us and the staff had not cleaned it yet. We asked if we could switch to a room that was ready and they agreed. After being in the second room for almost 15 minutes we could not get the heat to kick in and upon taking a further look there was actual mold all over the bathtub. We brought this to the attention of the staff up front and he again offered to switch our room for what was now the third time. He insist that he personally checked out the room prior to us going in and that everything was fine. Again after being in the now third room for roughly 10-15 minutes the heat would not kick in. Going to the front desk for the now the fourth time we spoke with a lady named Kelly who was very apologetic and offered to switch the room again for us. Again some how the heat did not work in this room, which was incredible to us being as that it is December in NJ. We spoke with Kelly again, who switched us to the fifth and final room which finally had working heat. She apologized and continuously reassured us that she had noted the issues we had been having for almost an hour and a half and let us know that the assistant manager Hermina would be in, in the morning. That morning when we were looking to speak with Hermina we were told that she was not going to be in and was currently on vacation. We decided to email both the manager of the hotel as well as corporate but neither had any interested in reaching back out to us or making the issues right. So I am writing this review to warn anyone who is considering staying here. Please be aware that although it may seem like a good price at the moment, keep in mind that not only is the customer service nonexistent from what seems the entire company but the rooms and building itself and are in terrible condition and not clean/sanitary what so ever.
Not that bad, cheapest rate I could find in the area. Room was fair. I am an early riser, up at between 4 and 5 am, and need my coffee fix when I get up. Got up at 5 and went down to lobby to get coffee and was told no coffee till 6am. They don t have coffee pots in the room like most hotels. So had to wait an hour. Room was fairly clean. A problem is the location, I never would have found the hotel without using Waze direction app. I would stay again.
I have stayed at Extended stays before and had great experiences but this one location is horrible. Makes you feel as though you are at a cheap motel rather than a good hotel. I won't be returning at all.
This was the worst hotel experience I have had in a while. I booked my room a month in advance, because my sister-in-law and I were heading up to NJ for the Giants/Eagles game. We arrived about two hours before kickoff and the hotel staff cavalierly informed us that they had overbooked and that we would be going to a different Extended Stay. They told us that they had overbooked THAT DAY and it didn't seem to matter that I had made my reservations so far in advance. The staff could not tell us why we were selected to be relocated, they could not tell us to which hotel we were being sent, and they could not provide us with a phone number.
The staff member, Naomi, could not have been more rude. In fact, in the middle of our conversation she went in the back room and disappeared for twenty minutes without explanation. It is a customer service driven job, so her complete lack of assistance and professionalism was shocking.
I would NEVER recommend another Extended Stay. They don't care about their patrons and they offer horrendous customer service.
Terrible, Terrible and Terrible....Room, bed, bathroom, and Kitchen area was unsatisfactory...Not one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom when we arrived... The poor guy at the desk was helpful but you can tell that wasn't his job to check in... He had to call the manager at home to get help with our reservation...Will not stay here...again.. Based on th one star rating only because we were able to sleep... Quiet Place...
Hotel in bad condition. Bad smell all over the place. TV/ Phone not working. Ok customer service. Breakfast was not good. I would not stay at Exteded stay again.
This hotel was average at best. Was not very clean, leftover caps from beer bottles, dirt underneath the beds and kitchen area. There was no toilet paper in the room. Had to constantly go to the front desk due to missing items. The Wi-Fi was spotty at best and the free breakfast did not offer much at all. Room key stopped working within a couple of hours of getting it re-activated. Would not recommend this play in the future. Overpriced due in part to the holiday weekend. Front desk staff seemed willing to assist but ill-equipped and often short staffed.
We reserved a deluxe suite weeks in advance for a group and put our credit card down to hold the room. When we arrived we were told that they overbooked and we were being split into 2 rooms that could accommodate the same sleeping spaces, to which we agreed. When we got to the rooms we noticed it was only 2 beds instead of the 3. The night staff was very polite and apologetic but told us we needed to call manager Jeff and we had friends sleep on the floor. When I spoke with Jeff, he was very unaccommodating to our situation and never once acknowledged his branches mistake made and never once apologized which was frustrating. He was set on the fact that him not charging us extra for the room was accommodation enough. I wish there was some better customer service to their mistake.
The location is not commute friendly, first time for me to stay in the hotel due to very close proximity to work.. need to have a car if you stay long to get essentials. They sell soda, water, snacks etc but pricey. Pet fee is $25 per night max of $125. Water is also not available but for sale at around $2 ..
Rude and abrupt assistant manager named Jeff, whom I overheard making disparaging comments about myself to his subordinate staff. I felt I was being penalized for booking a 5 night stay through Hot Wire instead of directly with Extended Stay.
For some reason I Iove this hotel but everytime I get a room either some one is in that room or the room is dirty or when I'm assigned to that room I hear ppl trying to open my door because they got assigned the same room as I this is like the 4th time.
Do not stay here. Smelled like pot in the lobby, tv didn't work, breakfast is a joke... muffins n coffee. Blankets are thin as sheets, phone didn't work AND heater didn't work!!
It was a nightmare for me and my family. I don t like to explain what people done at the hotel but all night they were yelling, screaming and making to many noises. We heard them during night and nobody make the people quiet!! Also the breakfast that they call is just coffee and some nutrition bars.
Marisol greeted us with the friendliest smile. She saw we were exhausted as we were checking in very late and did everything she could to make checking in easy and fun.
The worst of all the hotels I have ever stayed in. Very rude staff....non working phone which never got repaired despite repeated complaints from the evening we checked in. Only 1 trolley available in the entire premises. Smelly corridors...no cleaning in the entire week. Everything that would be considered appalling is right here in this hotel.
We found this place last minute and booked online. When we got there our reservation had not yet processed in their system and it took us close to 20 minutes to get checked in. The employee at the desk was rude. The room was decently clean, except for the condom rapper on the floor near our bed and the hair left in the shower drain. The breakfast was a joke. It consisted of granola bars and oatmeal packets. Factor in breakfast on your travel budget before you book here. The wifi is slow, but we did have hot water and were right in front of Metlife Stadium which was convenient. I would recommend if you are on a budget, you truly get what you pay for at this hotel.
We stayed here five days just last week and for the money it was perfect. Don't go here expecting your typical hotel experience. Think of your room as a short term furnished apartment. Room service will only stop by once a week and amenities, although a touch dated, work well. The staff was very friendly, agreeable, and helpful.
This locations biggest flaw is that they don't have enough cash flow. Staff was often a skeleton crew and some things were in bad repair. That said, it's location is perfect for the stadium but flawed for basic amenities. On site there are three vending machines and there is a Starbucks walking distance. Otherwise you will need to hit the highway or order in to get anything else.
If you need a place to stay for a period of time this location can certainly fit your needs even on a budget. The kitchen gives plenty of storage for a week's worth of food and the burners are gas.
During our visit the manager was very accommodating to our needs. We had three cats and my autistic daughter with us and all of our needs were met, the entire visit was quiet and restful. My biggest gripe was that there was only one trash room on the entire floor and it is at the far end of one of the two wings of the building. The other flaw I found was they were pushing standard quality cable onto HDTVs. We brought a Kindle fire stick so it wasn't an issue but it could annoy someone else.
It isn't perfect but for the price I don't think you can beat the accommodations.
Edit: Oh and one final but of craziness, it is competing against two other extended stay locations not 3 miles from it's own location.
This hotel has taken a deep dive downward! The front desk staff did not listen that I was only staying one night, so I was charged for two nights for two rooms. When we got to our rooms, I immediately turned the AC on to cool off the rooms. We went into NYC to visit family and upon our return, one of the rooms AC was not working. The front desk clerk moved us to another room across the hall. I'm not sure whether the towels and wash clothes were dirty or just dingy. When I walked into the room, it looked so bad that I immediately checked the bed for bedbugs. All of the furnishings they use to have in the room standard, now you have to ask for at the front desk. Our room had a iron hanging on the wall, but no ironing board. This will be the last time I use an Extended Stay Hotel.
Check in and room was okay. Upon checkout the staff was very rude and started shouting at me. When I checked out (5am) staff member was rude and didn't help me get an invoice, he also let me know that it was not his fault that I have no email address registered with them to get my receipt or that my name was misspelled. All in all, ruined my whole day, I even left my blanket in the room accidentally and didn't want to go back to get it, because of this experience
We have stayed here a few times before and had a couple minor problems, but nothing like this experience. The entire hotel smelled. The first room was filthy. There was trash on the counter, toilet paper in the toilet and the tub was dirty. Also, the beds were not made. We were given a second room. That one smelled too and there were pubic hairs in the bath tub. We went next door to the Hilton. It's was $4 more, and it's clean.
A nightmare, I booked for two days they changed it to one the room was already occupied by a family of centipedes, which didn't leave so I did ,as I was at front desk someone else was complaining I don't know what about the worse experience, if you go there bring bug spray
Our family booked a 10 night stay in advance and we ended up staying somewhere else. The only staff member present was one of the most disrespectful and unabashedly unmannerly person I've met in the "hospitality" field and for literally no reason! We hadn't even checked or even said anything to this employee before he started angrily demanding we tell him what we wanted. He turned his back to us and slammed a door promptly after. After waiting for someone to help us he came back and rudely corrected us saying that he asked us what we wanted from him. There was no management at the facility and he boldly stated that there would be no management in. When we had called the help desk to figure out how we were going to go about solving this shocking confrontation (we were just that.. shocked.. that someone could be so bitter for us just arriving to the hotel) they told us they'd connect us with a manager and handle to situation. Well the someone had contacted my brother to tell him that "management" at this particular hotel wouldn't be in that day or the next and then gave us a dud number. Don't waste your time. Do what you need to do and pay just $10 more to stay somewhere not hostile and so unprofessional. If he couldn't even greet us or welcome us, he's definitely not going to help you with any inevitable concerns you might have during your stay.
Umm stains on the bed sheets, heater not working and no maintenance at night or in the morning, bathroom had a used washcloth left behind leaving thoughts of whether all the other towels were even changed, door was broken and dresser and tv placed there... tv channels didn t work, bathtub had visible stains around the drainer not cleaned in between guests. The housekeeping should think of the cleanliness they would want had it been their family staying. Just nasty.
Cheap is cheap I pity the front desk employee. Just 1. Had to run the front desk and deliver dishes to the rooms. Very, very poor internet. Candy bars are what they call breakfast . A very long time to check in. Very old furniture. No doors On the closets. $100 plus .
People are polite and friendly. The facility is a bed and shower. I would not stay here for an extended stay. The facility is a 1 Star. If I had to grade only the people they would get four stars.
Overall, not bad for the weekend rate. ..however room could have been little cleaner(rug and bed valence)and the continent breakfast (really?) but it served its purpose
There are 2 extended stays in Secaucus. One that says NYC and is inside harmon meadows and shops .. which is the good one .... and there is another called meadow lands ... which is not so good. NYC one is a bit more expensive for a reason. More spacious. ... walk to restaurants and stores.
