Beautiful resort,beach front. Concert by TIM CHARRON was beyond amazing! Excellent food, except waitress was rude, telling us we couldn't sit at the table we "grabbed ", she usually makes a couple hundred dollars off that table. We stayed anyway.

Valet is so terrible. Great venue but valet won't tell you prices or what it is to park when entering and will just take your car. We were staying there in a room and parked a second car and when we left they charged us a substantial amount! very upset and no negotiations with manager. No notification of charges until we left. Be careful of this place especially with valet service because they will take advantage of you

Besides the incompetent bouncers, the club had a nice vibe and was surprisingly clean.

We love this place! Beach, live music, outdoor bar and extensive restaurant. Can be very expensive and last time we were there the waiter was terrible but usually the staff are great!!

Great atmosphere. Definitely the place on the beach for action, music and drink.

If you want a quiet place to stay, this is not it. This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in and i am extremely disappointed.

I am actually wanting to give this place 0 stars but am required to at least give 1 star in order to post this review.... I made a reservation here for me and my family to have dinner at the buffet. This place was recommended by many local bartenders in the area so i thought it'd be a good place to spend one of our last nights in Florida. The waitress was very nice and asked us what we'd like to drink. My girlfriend ordered one of the specialty drinks and Presented her ID to the waitress. The waitress responded that the ID looked strange because of the pink strip on the top that says "Enhanced Driver's License". We explained that the enhanced ID allows you to cross over to the canadian border without a passport since we live in Washington State. The waitress agreed and decided to have her manager inspect the ID. 5 Minutes later two bouncers and the manager show up to the table and confront my girlfriend to loudly embarrass her in front of the entire restaurant. The bouncer immediately says " This is not a valid drivers license, so here's what's going to happen.. I could call the police right now, have you arrested and you could get a felony for having a fake Drivers Licence. We assured them the ID was real and told them they should do a GOOGLE search to better understand this. They said a google search is not needed because the picture of the Enhanced drivers license wasn't in there book and there's more information on the drivers license then a regular license. They decide to call the police and made us stand outside for 30 minutes while they presented the strange piece of plastic to the police. The cop approached us and gave the ID back to my girlfriend who was embarrassed and crying at this point. They offered to comp our food but we were so discussed with the way they handled the situation that we no longer wanted to be anywhere near this place. Im very confused as to how one of the nicer hotels in the area has a couple of brainless meatheads working for them with no people skills. The manager had no balls and cowardly stood behind the bouncers as if we were a threat to his safety. This could have been easily handled maybe just outside the door and without backup. I hope and pray he loses his job or at least gets some additional training that he clearly needs as well as the rest of the bouncers who proudly waltzed back over to the club next door and did not feel the need to apologize. They stated that they didn t do anything wrong. We re not angry about them doing their job, were mad at how it was handled. I can clearly say i will never ever spend ANY money in this place nor recommend it to anyone. I ve never been treated so poorly. Learn how to treat people with respect. And Yes, I will be posting this review on several websites.

Crab legs no longer part of the buffet.. have to pay 16 extra for a pound...

A staple on Clearwater Beach for the last 25 years, always improving, lots of food options, entertainment and drinks, good crowds at times, young and old and great views of the gulf!

I give them five star every time I go.. love shepherds

Free parking in the parking garage shepherds has a great menu and there s so much to do all around that area so much fun with the family

That live band tonight was not.worth it and the back up singer (she wasn't good) didn't have it on point. That DJ THOUGH had the dance floor full and moving!

Great service. Helpful staff. More of an adult atmosphere. No pets, no smoking in rooms

I just tried to book my stay and their website was not working, so I had to call the front desk for help booking. I was extremely unimpressed with the customer service I recieved. A young lady named Monica picked up the phone and was very rude and unhelpful. The front desk person is the face of your hotel. They are the first person you interact with, and if this is any indicator of what I have to deal with when I get there then I am already sorry I booked. If your staff have such poor attitudes about work maybe you need to hire people who want to be there. I have given this review a 3 star rating based on my interaction with Monica, but I hope I don't have to lower it once I get on site.

I believe shepards has the right idea but they are charging way too much just to try and have a good time. They charge 20 dollars to park and then another 10 dollars a person to get in. So if two people go you have to spend 40 dollars just to get in and spend more money. This isn't Miami and your not fountain blue. You need to be more affordable. I'm coming here to spend money. Also as soon as I walked in I was told I couldn't get in because I had a gray tank top on. So I took it off and then 5 minutes later saw another man with the same top on. Shepards is fun but y'all need to be more reasonable. Stop acting like this is Miami Beach. I understand you gotta a pay your dj 15000 to play for a Sunday night but damn.

Very busy buffet style restaurant. The food was good and they did an excellent job of keeping the buffet stocked so there was almost never a wait to get anything. My biggest complaint would be that they added gratuity to the bill, which normally I would be fine with, but being a buffet I normally would not leave a 20% tip.

Great food selection, bottomless mimosas, great service

I didn t stay at this hotel but I visited their bar/club area: I have never in my entire life purchased an alcoholic beverage with such little alcohol. I know bars want to make money but it was honestly beyond insulting. I left one of my drinks at the bar half finished because I was literally sipping sour mix in a cup. The service was also extremely slow for the amount of people present and the bartenders are all rude. Won t be back here, do not recommend.

One star!! All day!! 10 dollar cover and definitely not worth it!! I was removed from Shepherd's because I tried to tip a waitress for cleaning the VIP table I purchased.. she backed into me.. and copped an attitude.. not looking where she was going and I got removed from the establishment.. I would avoid this place at all cost.. AJ(security) and Mike(Supervisor) and Chad(Security) were completely unreasonable.. I had a VIP table and will never spend money in this establishment again.. I'll make sure my YouTube and IG subs never spend money in this establishment because it wont be here for long treating guests as such.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! AJ(security)should be fired !! Chad(Security)too.. One star!! A waste of time.. trust me..

never again. If you're reading this, do not go to the Shepards hotel. TERRIBLE service and I did not feel welcomed at all. The manager is very rude and disrespectful. Never again

Was not real happy, hard to get into, buffet was priced out of this world and had to pay for valet parking as we forgot to get the ticket stamped and when the valet got our car for us it was a total cluster screw up and had to wait forever. Will we go back again? Probably not. We only went there to meet my niece as she was in town for the weekend.

Stay somewhere else. Not kid friendly at all, drunks around every corner. I'm up for having a good time, but this was ridiculous. People so over served they were puking fall down drunk in the afternoon in the pool area. At night, even worse. Hotel reception was not helpful and quite rude.

Great place to stay. Nice pool and beach area with fantastic music. Clean and spacious rooms. I would have rated it a 5 however two things sucked: no free breakfast as advertised online. And they don't offer tea in the rooms.

The drinks were well made and reasonably priced. The music was good and the atmoshphere was fun.

Told upon booking pool was open till 10pm.. check in was was 4pm check in pool is only open till 6pm. Must leave at 11am anD can not use amenities pass check in time.
Staff is rude and so is management (Valerie) will never stay at this hotel ever again.. cost $200 for nothing.. save your money!!!!!!!!!...

Nothing negative to say about shephard's beach resort as we've stayed there and eaten at the buffet, They are wonderful.
What I do have a problem is the valet. They scraped my car against a pole and now that I went to the body shop they told me I had to go to and gave them the quote there's no reply from them.
For anyone that wants to go to Shephard's read this and never let them valet your car as they are careless and will floor your car up and down the parking lot and then never call you back when they say they will pay for the damages.
The resort is quite lovely however their valet company that they use use is absolute trash,

My favorite hotel. I just hate that they are always booked.

The buffet had lots of options, some really good and some okay. The meat options were delicious. If you walked outside there was live music and a small beach area. We were there around 830ish and recieved cover bands for free.

Awesome place to stay. Great location. Serving staff can sometimes be mediocre at best but if you stay find Tiffany at one of the bars for GREAT SERVICE. She was friendly and always made sure we were OK and having fun
The band at night New Divide played great music. Food is a little over priced but it's good and you get a lot. I would stay here again. TIFFANY gets a 5 star review. The rest of the staff brings the rating down.

I was a bit skeptical to bring my family to stay for an evening after local friends of ours called it a party spot... But we loved it! The girl behind the desk did warn me that the music can be loud at night and with kids she wanted us to be comfortable. My kids didn't even know the music was playing and I was able to sit outside and enjoy it from the balcony! We had a rough journey down and the same sweet girl behind the front desk included a free breakfast for my entire family. It was very thoughtful! The pool was great and we loved the private beach. We wanted to stay another night but they were booked full.. We ended up at another "fancy resort" that didn't satisfy us half as much as Shephard's did! We will definitely be back if we decide to stay in Clearwater again! Thank you.

Excellent buffet of quite of a few variety. But, you have to get there early to beat the crowd.

My family went to shephards and went to there ocean flame buffet. It was amazing and very very tastful. We are getting married soon and will be attending shephards for the rehearsal dinner. Love it

Perfect! Everything needed for a crazy girls weekend! If you want to check out some other cusine nearby there is a golf cart to take you..

Really enjoyed our stay. Great entertainment and great food. Met a wonderful gentleman named Jim, a retired veteran after 25 years of service . Every morning he greeted us and took time out of his busy schedule to ask how we were doing and was glad to see us. Jim has a job that I think most people doesn't notice or appreciate. He arrives every morning around 4:40 am to clean around and wash the sand from the walkways so everyone can enjoy and relax around the dock. He takes great pride in his work and does a wonderful job. Hotel staff and waitresses were very nice and professional. Will definitely come back.

Great food and quality dishes produced correctly. I think it is the best restaurant in Tampa Bay! I have eaten here for years and never had a bad meal or my quests that didnt love it because so many choices of high end food.

The best place to see sunsets. Great live music and food.

Very loud at night because of the dance club. Customer service was very mediocre at it's best. Would not stay again

Lobby and rooms
Were clean! Location was very good and easy to walk to Clearwater shops and restaurants. Pool area was clean and inviting. Jose at the front desk was awesome! Wristbands are a pain. The color of the wristband is changed daily and you need one to access the pool area. In order to get a new wristband, you need to have the previous days wristband to switch out. I was given a very hard time when I accidentally threw my band away and was told to look through the trash for it.

We stopped in for the dinner buffet. Lots of choices for sure but not as much as I expected. Sushi bar consisted of California rolls and spicy California rolls.

The music. So loud. No joke. If you are young and wanna party this is your place. But you gotta be drunk to go to bed, you can't go to sleep, you can only pass out.

A great entertainment resort. The beach left is wanting a little more. Would recommend for a high energy, fun crowd!

I read all the negative reviews and was a little apprehensive! We enjoyed every minute of our week. Everyone working there was so very polite. If you don't want to hear the band (which I was concerned about the loud music after bedtime), make your reservation for the other building. The restaurant was not a McDonalds, it was a fine dining, great ambiance and a buffet that could treat the finest of taste. Worth every penny. Fabulous room, best bed ever, neat, clean. balcony with beautiful gulf view. Loved it all!

Met family at the Ocean Flame grill restaurant for dinner, our waitress was wonderful- especially with how quickly my family was going through the plates of crab legs, service was very quick. The food at the buffet was excellent and had a great selection.

The rooms are very nice and cozy. The Resort staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Every night there is a party on the backside of the resort, so if you are looking for some fun head there, but if your looking for some rest and relaxation during the night, book a room on the island side. Valet parking is a nice amenity as well.
