Right on the beach, this place offers amazing views, especially at sunset. Amazing food, good music, and good drinks. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side.

Stayed here in Clearwater for the first time with my family. We arrived sunday and were warned this was the busiest night of the week, and it was true. I was a little overwhelmed with all the people but through the week it definitely wasnt as crowded. The only complaint I have is the 2nd night there we saw several bugs in our room. We killed 3 roaches, and several tiny bugs throughout the week. We even saw 2 spiders. We were on the 6th floor so if we have bugs so does every other room. I've luckily never spent 1000 a week at a hotel and seen roaches until now. I'm concerned the hotel is badly infested. Needless to say we wont be staying here again because this creeps me out.
Bands that play on the weekend will play the same songs Friday and Saturday night. Kind of annoying! Otherwise hotel is decent expect to pay for things that should be included like beach chairs.
The only good part about this hotel is that you have a roof over your head. The "beach" they advertise is a scam, it's not a beach, it is a man made sand dump in the channel and the water smells like rotten eggs. If you are staying in the gulf side, the night club is mandatory. You will hear and feel it until 2:30am. If you are a fan of mini earthquakes the gulf side is for you! All items in the room will shake with the music playing THREE FLOORS below you. Over priced is an understatement. If you stay in the gulf side rooms, you are basically paying to have a bad time. Spend your money on a road side motel, you'll have a better time.
Only went to the bar, but it's a fantastic place to visit when you're there
Extremely nice place to celebrate my daughter's wedding. Everyone had a wonderful time at Shepherd's Beach Resort.
Instant access to the beach. Great breakfast buffet. Also has an amazing nightclub, "The Wave." As well as their outdoor bar the "Tiki Beach." It has live entertainment on most evenings. The entire weekend at Shepards is off the chain! Sundays at Shepards are the most awesome and fun. Its EDM all day at Tiki Beach and continues into the night at The Wave, with guest DJ's. Sunday is also dress code day at The Wave. So if you go on a Sunday, dress to impress. The bar staff is off the chain, they're awesome! It's definitely where all the beautiful people go to hang out, and let their hair down after a day of sunbathing on the beach. I would definitely recommend it as a destination for spring breakers. Fyi, they will ask for I.D. at the door and reserve the right to deny entry to ANYONE. Please be 21 and over and please drink responsibly.
Very modern and sleek hotel, the bathrooms in the hotel rooms are very big and the views are normally really good depending on where youre room is. Not very kid friendly as most of the people who stay here are couples and not families. Can get loud due to the live music at night, so if you're planning to get some sleep on your vacation, ask for a higher floor or a different room away from the live entertainment.
Came for a wedding. VERY busy and crowded place. All staff were nice
Checked in got in bed that night to find that someone made the bed over a puddle of piss so when you pulled back the blankets this is what I discovered and worst part is it was still wet and smelled awful.
This place has everything you need Under One Roof. From the beach to a club to full-on dinner
We went for sunday brunch at Ocean Flame. It is my absolute favorite brunch place in pinellas county, hands down. Great view, great food, etc etc
Great atmosphere. The live band was energetic and kept the crowd alive. Downside only can Corona :(
The service is awful ..reserved a poolside room a month ago and we are stuck looking at a shingle roof . We will never come back
Not a fan of EDM music or Cardi B every other song, but I Love the scenery tho, different music would've been so AWESOME
This place is great as far as location and it has a lot of amenities. The bad things are that this resort is not advertised as a party spot and immediately upon entering our room, cockroaches went scattering. If you have a family or young children I would not recommend this resort as it is basically a night club right outside the rooms. Secondly, cockroaches! Thank God there wasn't any bed bugs but cockroaches really!
Awesome stuff but the place was a little run-down compared to all the other hotels nearby.
My husband and I planned a 40/50 birthday bash for our friends and family. I have to say the staff at the Restaurant was fantastic and Kelly out at the Tiki bar was super energetic. We had a great time with our friends. As for the hotel management and check in staff, We received NO consideration for our birthday at all. NO card in the room NOTHING> you'd think after all the money I spent and saved for a whole year we'd at least get some acknowledgment of our birthday. No consideration for our friends coming to be with us either I would have expected them not to have to pay a cover after all the money I spent. NOTHING not even after I sent the management 2 emails. HAVE TO SAY THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!
I went with some friends to see the Dada life show. It seemed really unorganized.. So many over intoxicated people just acting a fool..
1. This resort is not taking COVID-19 precautions seriously and the numbers are continuing to rise. There were signs that said masks mandated by the county, but the staff employees were not enforcing it. The pool was overcrowded, we couldn t even find chairs that weren t too close to others and the actual pool was very crowded too. Saturday night when we got back from dinner, we thought we might check out the live music by the tiki bar. I was appalled to see that there were at least 75 people on the dance floor, in close spaces, with no masks on. This hotel should be held liable in the COVID numbers increase in clearwater. Many guests were not wearing masks.
2. The noise was out of control. I understand the resort offers entertainment, which is great, but please make sure your guest rooms do not get affected by the noise. The club should have soundproof walls or something. We came to stay for a CrossFit Competition, and we had to be awake at 5:30 AM. Friday night, we were awake until 2:45 AM. The base of the club was literally shaking our room. And when we called to ask about it, the front desk was rude and said the music is allowed to be played until 2:30 and they were annoyed that we bothered them. And then again on Saturday night, when we were exhausted from our competition, we could not get any sleep.
3. The room itself had many small cockroaches, ants, and other bugs. I was annoyed how often I had to keep killing bugs.
4. Aside from the valet guys, the beach bartenders and servers, and the men who ran the beach chairs, the staff was very rude. The front desk staff did not seem happy to work there and annoyed when I would ask questions about anything. I wasn t asking for a lot I just wanted to feel safe and get some adequate rest in a clean environment and I do not think that is too much to ask for.
5. It is disgusting that people are allowed smoke anywhere they want to by the tiki bar/ outdoor eating area and the beach. I understand it s a bar, but smoking should not be allowed where you are trying to sit and eat. I did not appreciate trying to enjoy my food while constantly inhaling other people s cigarettes. Smoking should be designated to the bar area only or other smoking areas only.
6. Overall, one of the worst resorts I have ever stayed at
Amazing beach front resort! Not only is it great for adults, but it is family friendly as well!! The pool is very nice and the hotel is walking distance to local grocery and public beach area. Staff has always been very friendly.
Sunday brunch at the top. Buffet of seafood and meat, champagne galore.
Staying right now router outside my room but can't get WiFi manager said it because I don't no how even though it will connect halfway down the hall but I guess a guest isn't important enough to talk to they send someone else out to tell you your the only one with problems so I asked the only other guy out at the desk and his didn't work either either . So he went back to talk to manager guess what I waited another 10 to 15 minutes and he never came back . If they had a problem let me no and I'd understand but instead they might as well called me a idiot
Only visited the outdoor restaurant/bar, but a fabulous bayside spot for the last day of a northeners vacation. Tasty lunch items and convenient bar service, plus some awesome live tunes cooked up real time by Cutty Jones. Couple of patrons provided additional edgy entertainment, but will omit more detail here.
Shepherds is the ABSOLUTE BEST
Everyone is so friendly and the helpful.
The pool and beach are so clean and beautiful. Will definitely be back.
The service was excellent ,the room was clean and the value was great. The grounds were in great shape and I have no complaints.
Had dinner at resort and some drinks. It was excellent
Shepards was awesome. A definite party spot. We started our night here for my sisters bachlerette party and we all had a blast. The band did an awesome shout out and played a song for here. They even went as far as changing the name in "Jesse's Girl" to her finaces name. Everyone was dancing around her and singing. It was amazing. Such a great time.
Horrible service. A couple of friends spent over $2000 on a birthday by the pool and bought a room for the night & They kick out people for dancing although they operate a nightclub and outdoor club on the property. Would never recommend to anyone.
This is my favorite vacation place in Florida. I love the hotel, the live shows, the private beach. I recommend it 100%
Oh my goodness! What can I say the food was such a delicious experience she Ambiance was great as well! I can't wait to go back! I did not like that you had to pay $10 for a snow crabs but the food was so good
Manager was horrible.. Upon arriving at the restaurant, soon after they opened at 5pm, on Father's day, my husband and I were told that we could not get a table bcuz they were all reserved for the whole day. We left the restaurant, went outside and decided to call the restaurant to see if we could make a reservation..low an behold we got a reservation within the next 15 minutes. While dining we noticed that there were plenty of empty tables inside and outside. Prime rib, crab legs and our waitress were the only things I liked about this place but will not return due to poor manager.
Beautiful accommodations, great entertainment and a phenomenal staff! Thank you so much for the best vacation ever!!
Super fun atmosphere on the beach. Several bars and plenty to eat. Valet parking, pool and live entertainment inside and out. You can not go wrong
They don't have breakfast included. For the prices you pay. It should be. The food was not good. Not interested in returning.
Joey made my night. The best cocktail in Clearwater
Bring ur friends bring ur luv 1's, Always a good tyme when u come & hang out! Great live music, great food & drinks!
Nice atmosphere, outside bar and live music...but 10$ cover charge?
We don't go here often. It is more pricey then other places on the beach and I just can't get over a cover charge for sitting outside?
Great place. Close to so many attractions. Lots of bars on site. Nice beach front.
Lots of stuff to do. Wave pools, jet ski rentals, water tours, etc
I booked a luxury room with a balcony with a water view and what we got was a second-floor balcony with a 1st floor rooftop that you could step out on to that extended so far out that you couldn't even see the ground or any of the beach area only water off in the distance. This place is really overpriced for the average room and the poor balcony view. I requested a different room and was told that they were booked and there was nothing they could do.This was our first and last trip to this resort.
Great place to stay for a complete entertainment package. With the heated pool, hot tub, amazing buffet, great bar, with the best on stage mucician performances day and night right on the water it's definitely worth the money. Next time I'm in Clearwater this is where I'll stay!!!
Visited friends staying here in February 2021. Pre-pandemic, I visited Shephards restaurants and bars often. Overall, this 2021 visit was a good experience but a few issues that I didn't care for considering our pandemic situation.
1. There are certain bars/restaurants that are only open on the weekend - not a huge deal but I couldn't find this info online when planning the visit.
2. There was no social distance option to approach the outdoor bar for drinks and no servers in the outdoor bar area (at least during the week). I was pretty uncomfortable approaching the bar with everyone not wearing masks (because they were drinking) and trying to lean between guests to put in a drink order.
3. Valet is still the only option for parking. Valet was masked but not wearing gloves or carrying hand sanitizer. If valet has to remain the only option, additional sanitization measures should be taken.
4. Minimal cleaning/sanitization of the bar or outdoor table areas between guests. In fact, we were at a table for 3 hours and I never saw an employee come out from the bar to wipe down tables after a guest would leave.
4/5 stars because the staff was great and food/drinks were good. But on covid precautions, 2/5 stars.
Beautiful resort, and the pool and cabana was awesome. Great place
Always an incredible atmosphere, service and live bands.
Great time and good service, thank you Autumn ( night bartender)
Nice place to stay with great views from the top and conveniently located near all the main attractions.
Beautiful room but the service was the worst I have ever seen. Prostitutes hang out in the hallways and my friends and I were threatened to leave the resort because our real IDs were not "valid" to them. They were unoccommating to our concerns. Don't waste your time and money at this resort!
First time visiting Shephards Resort, on Tuesday 6/26/2018 and the first person to represent Shephards Resort was Lily at front desk. Let s just see she made my wife and I feel less than welcomed, she had an attitude and made us feel we were bothering her or interrupting her day. Did not welcome us to Resort and when we left did not even bother to ask how our stay was. Well I ll tell you, room was awesome, pool and entertainment was awesome , private beach awesome , Resort was clean , fresh and we would definitely love to return and most likely will. But management please convey this message to front desk employees, no matter how your day is going please make your guests feel welcome and appreciated and as a courtesy ask how their visit was. Maybe next time 5 stars will be on your review.
I went to Shepard's for a friends birthday. The entry price was $10 which wasn't bad, however the amount they charged for drinks and such little alcohol they poured it was not economical. I wish they would have at least used the pouring cup. The bar/deck area was nice as usual. The music was very good as they had two live musicians playing a mix of music. The bathroom was very dirty and unpleasant. Overall Shepard's was just blah.
Great place to stay! Nice spot to swim or enjoy some music and dancing!
Do not stay here. My 1st night going to bed was spent cleaning clumps of hair product and hair off of my headboard. I woke in the morning to find greasy butt marks along the wall the Sun so nicely outlined. We were never offered clean towels and our trash was never taken out the entire week. Our children got to witness police being called to a "resort" on several occasions along with a domestic dispute that took place in the parking lot. There were drunk teenagers at the pool and beach one who threw up on herself in the pool. Me and my family were not allowed to move our chairs together at the beach, which we paid and rented all week, but a group of drifters from the sidewalk were allowed to smoke marijuana at the small beach that my family was at. I would never recommend this resort to anyone.
It was beautiful the sunset from the beach and pool area was amazing entertainment lineups are great..
Nice place, had buffet of prime rib and seafood amount other things.
Staff was friendly everybody there was great great service great people great view great breakfast great great rooms will come back awesome bands will come back over and over again
Been going to this place for 30yrs it is always a good time . I was also Married at this venue which they pulled it off amazingly.
As I do like to be fair on the occasions when I have had a issue management is not super responsive or accommodating.
From the moment Samantha pleasantly swept us through our smorgasbord (sp?) of paperwork to get us a wonderful room (with the perfect view!) to the moment TK left us a beautiful array of elephant-shaped towels on our bed (and maybe a squirrel? sorry TK, we couldn't figure out the shape of the last one) the day before we left, the whole experience was over-the-top. Lily (strangely enough, pronounced 'Lie-lee', just don't tease her about it) was so accommodating. We made a room request for a future reservation...not only did she honor the room request but personally stated she would be present to welcome us back (with hugs!!). I don't know who is training the staff here but it's better than Disney.
