When I ordered room service there was no room to s...

When I ordered room service there was no room to seat, so I sat on a stool looking table that broke. I was charged 4,000 Ps. on my bill, I tried to protest because I did not feel that it was my responsibility if the glass was not strong enough and there was no warning sign.
I called the managers Miss Sayson and Miss Bass and they both were unable to give me satisfaction, even when I told them that for a mere 4,000Ps they were going to loose a Golden Circle member for their attitude. This incident is not going to be confined to your hotel, because my protest is going to go all the way up to the top line of management.

sorry for the messy room picture but this happened because we had to change our room b coz of electricity failure ! late at night . The front lobby staff said they ll transfer us in the suite room for apology but honestly i dont need a suite room ! !!!
Im with my 1yr.old baby &5yrs old toddler it was such a tiring night. some staff were like looking at you head to toe what an attitude .

This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in a lot. There is absolutely nothing to fault here. i would give more than 5 stars! the staff is extra-nice. rooms are clean and fancy. the pool area is beautiful. the hallways and foyers are stylish, classy and has a rich feel to it. i would go again and it wont burn a hole in your pocket either

My overall experience was bad especially the food that I ate for dinner on 12th Dec, few hours after eating the food I started vomiting and I vomited for 6 times starting 2:30 am until the next morning at 6:00 am. Although I informed your service desk but no one investigated the matter or reported to me as to what went wrong with the food. It was an extreme case of food poisining and it requires your hotel to investigate it further. I suffered terribly the whole night and I am still undergoing treatment. I mostly have the same dishes at Shangri La at other locations but never faced this problem. It was a horrible experience and I will never ever recommend Edsa Shangri La to any of jy colleagues.

We stayed as a family of four. Your staff has been helpful to arrange adjoining rooms for us. Rooms are of good size, nicely decored and clean. Staff from all levels (concierge, front desk, lobby, room service, restaurant etc) are all friendly. The moment we stepped into the hotel entrance, we felt very welcome.
One small suggestion I may have is that, if the complimentary fruit can come in the form of cut-fruit cup. That'll be more convenient for the guests. And probably make it less messy for us to cut!

I appreciate the genuine service accorded to me and my family. I received three birthday cakes (though I celebrate my birthday only once a year!) and we enjoyed all possible discounts even if we did not ask for them. All discounts were offered upon check in (which other hotels we have been to hardly do). An extra bed was provided even without any request. The staff felt we needed one since there were two kids and three adults checked in. We enjoyed our two-night stay. We will be back given the chance! The best hotel service we have had by far!

The notes I placed during booking and reservation through the app weren't prepared ahead of time. We had to wait for a while before housekeeping came up and indulged us. But overall, it was still a good experience.

Room was very tidy and neat, Kudos to Ms Joanna for keeping the room well maintain and also her towel animals does make my day after being out for meeting the whole day.

Did the app check in and was pleasantly surprise your staff gave me the key the moment i arrived at the hotel

As always, the accommodation and service was top notch and could not be beat.

Quite disappointed though to find out that valet parking now has a flat rate of Php150 even for checked-in guests. Borrowing a plate and a bowl would also cost Php150. Such a dismay for a 5-Star hotel as I only see these strategies on lower service-level/class hotels. Really unclassy and I feel that the hotel should be embarrassed to be doing this.

The Horizon Club lounge was great, the selection of food and beverage was ample and the staff were courteous. Would be a good place to hold meetings though I would suggest reserving ahead of time as it does get full especially during the 5pm to 6pm cocktail time.

The kids play area with scheduled activities is a pleasant addition and firmly adds to ESL's reputation of being a family hotel. The pool has always been a great come-on with ample activities for kids and adults alike. I think ESL has the best pool for kids among other hotels in Manila.

Breakfast still sucks and is highly overpriced. Food selection is so-so and runs out quite fast - again, something which I would expect from a lower class hotel but not from a 5-star hotel charging close to Php2,000 for breakfast.

There was a slight stench upon checking in the roo...

There was a slight stench upon checking in the room. Good thing was the concierge who helped me with my baggage brought a air purifying machine shortly after and sprayed the room in the hope to rid of it.
My bill for my breakfast on day 1 was more than it should. I was overcharged and when I brought it up to the duty manager the following evening, it was rectified but I picked up that she wasn't pleased that I brought it up to her attention. From past experience at establishments like Marriott, they will acknowledge by sending a basket of fruits or complimentary breakfast for guests. Unfortunately, Shangri-La didn't have such practice.
Last but not least, on my last in-room dining was the highlight - saw a cockroach crawling out of my sandwich which I returned to have the other half. I managed to kill it on the tray which I left behind. Pleased that it was followed up but it was played down. It wasn't just any insect - it was a cockroach that crawled out of the food!

The Edsa Shangri-La is excellent. It is next door to great shopping malls and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The prices are reasonable. We enjoyed our stay there and will return.

The service of the staff was excellent throughout the hotel. I can't mention all the wonderful staff that we had met. I can only express my special thanks to Josh at the Club lounge. He met us at the hotel entrance, escorted us to our room and did our check in inside the room. He also remembered my name every time we entered the Club lounge. Special thanks too to a middle aged waiter at Heat on Sun 2 Jun during lunch time. We ordered a la carte at around 2 pm. When our dishes took some time to arrive, he took the initiative to make us a delicious salad from the buffet. Unfortunately I couldn't see his name as his apron strap partially covered his name tag. He had processed our bill as we were leaving the restaurant.

I had the best time here. The staff was very nice and friendly. The gym was amazing, it is large with many different machines and tools. We did not have the change to eat at the restaurants here, but we did buy some macaroons from the pastry/gift shop and they were delicious. Next to the SM Megamall. I definitely want to stay here again when we come to Manila again!

I just had a problem upon arrival when the booking was made by my mom a week ago via CC and i was asked to present the same CC physically when i was checking in. I had a back and forth call w/ my mom until she decided to make straight payment via CC. First hotel I've encountered this. I thought advanced booking is to arrange everything beforehand and avoid such hassles. But overall stay was great.

Between EDSA, The Fort, and Makati, the least desirable of the Shangri-La properties. Grossly inadequate parking compared to the other properties. But they have newer/refurbished rooms compared to Makati. The buffet is inferior to that in Makati, although I would say the Horizon Lounge is better than the one in the Makati property. Both are inferior to the (greatly higher-priced) BGC property.

The hotel is superb; the staff are very pleasant and attentive to your needs. The facilities are above par compared to other hotels. Food selection at its dining outlets is great. Banquet rooms are okay and event managers are very efficient & competent.

From bell service to the efficient front desk to Heat restaurant wait staff .. our stay was very comfortable and staff exceptional. They were very attentive, friendly and very professional. I'm glad we stayed in this hotel. We'll make sure to book again next time.

-11 floor garden wing hallway smells bad with moulds.
-rooms were dated
-grab bar at bathtub fell off
-service at summer palace bad.
-food at summer palace terrible chinese chef
-service at GF coffee area bad. Takes a lot of time to wait for the bill and refill for the tea
-over all bad service for a 5 star hotel. Seems like a 2-3 star service
-buffet plain rice is as hard as a rock it will break your teeth

Enjoyable stay at the Edsa Shangri La, but the wiaters at the bkfast restaurant needs to stop reminding me i dont have breakfast included in my stay and everything i order needs to be paid for. Quite comical but it was an enjoyable stay nonetheless! please sign me up for golden circle too ,thank you team! We would like to be considered for corporate rates as we have an office in Manila.
