My stay was very short but all the amenities and the room exceeded my expectations. I just hope that buffet breakfast are served at an earlier time to accomodate visitors who need to leave early for their work. But overall it was a remarkable experience.

It s always comfortable and convenient to stay in a Shang Ri La hotel. And this one served that purpose. Not that I m trying to find any fault but I have to mention something/someone that bothered me during our stay there. There is some fella who works in the hotel sauna/steam room who has been trolling the guests. It s quite bothersome when someone wants to spend some privacy and complete isolation and this guy steps in and out watching everyone. I find it disturbing that the hotel have someone policing these premises. It s not a brothel. It s a 5 star hotel with people who expects and deserved that treatment.

Our company is a vegetarian company so all our events when there is food included must provide only vegetarian dishes. I've tasted a lot of vegetarian dishes and I must say I dislike a whole lot of them. I know there are some places where the food is amazing, and what I can say is this.

Shangri-La has one of the most amazing food I've ever eaten, I can guarantee that, although one of the desserts was too sweet for my tastes the "pecan pie", the rest of the dishes they served were amazing. The chef and staff are all of high quality which makes Shangri-La's reputation well deserved.

Check in and out is smooth. Too bad we were not granted for late checkout because of high volume of guests My son was disappointed because heavy rains prevented him from jumping in he pool. Instead, he was very happy to be in bath tub the whole time. The food was sumptuous. The attendant was accommodating. ALL IN ALL, It was truly an awesome time staying.

Gym was excellent! Pool is small and crowded... not enough waiters at poolside. Sauna steam bath jacuzzi and amenities were perfect. Bravo to male attendant in the mornings. Lunch food buffet needs a change....same menu same deserts for the past several years. Had issues with breakfast buffet BUT the manager of the heat and hotel manager did a good job in apologising.

I am giving a poor rating for the breakfast part not because of the quality of food and choices but because I was so tied up with so much things for our event in the hotel so I didn't have the chance to avail my breakfast.

Worth the money.

Worth the money.
Super friendly and professional staff, as well as food and amenities we are very satisfied.
We had an emergency and they responded quickly and even sent a doctor and nurse to the room.

It was very good. The food is also very great. However, maybe because the hotel has been there for years, the rooms already show signs of wearing-off. It's already kinda old. But it's always a wonderful stay.

WE are a church and have guest preachers visit us....

WE are a church and have guest preachers visit us. Your process of being able to check them in is bad. We weren't allowed to put the room in our guests name but check in early so we could put a welcome basket and get the key so he could just walk in.

I had to put my own name on the room. I want to be able to pay for our guest and deal directly with the hotel, with the guest not knowing any charges and just being able to drop his card on the way out. For such a classy hotel, this is a huge oversight.

If your on your own - I would give this a miss - and if you enjoy a cigarette - your treated as someone from the planet ZOG! You will need deep pockets too - so many better and friendlier hotels in Manila at a fraction of the cost.

Requesting for a simple bag at the Concierge was not simple and not readily available unless one wait to get it from House Keeping. Why is it not like other hotels to have it available at will and NOT have to wait till you contact House Keeping to wait till you get it to hand over to Guest? Do all your room guests have so much time to wait till you get it? We do not!

It was really nice. The rooms were in excellent condition we loved the rain feature in the newly refurbished building we also loved the fact that they greeted us with our 1st anniversary thank you housekeeping team we even had room transfers and it was seemless thank you fo team. I also would like to give the people at summer palace shout outs They made sure we have the best dumplings and food orders. Also the senju sushi's are to die for. We spent most of our time by the pool Marivic took excellent care of us when we were there for 2 days she made sure that we were taken care off and we always had what we needed. Looking forward to be back soon.

Had enjoyable stay at your hotel. Service was excellent. Best of all theres light snacks in my room upon check in. Thank you for that. Very much appreciated. On the down side, ive noticed separate breakfast venue for the convention delegates.

When I booked with the booking clerk (in Malaysia)...

When I booked with the booking clerk (in Malaysia) he did not give me the right room. I went to renegotiate the room but none were available when I got to the hotel. Later when I tried to book another room (for some visitors) I was again given the wrong room again. This happened at the hotel.
The room I was given was very disappointing.
The Service Manger (Malen Sebastian) did what she could to correct things and even offered me to stay in another room - I had already been there for 9 days and did not think it was worth changing for one day.
I had some Golden Circle point to claim back. I went to Paparazzi and the points were deducted without any fuss. The next night I went to Summer Palace. Again I went to claim my points back. The man took all my points and did not return them to me. I spoke to his manager and told him the details but he said they had been used already. I said please give me the points back, which he did. Unfortunately they all expired that night. When in fact I had 3 months to go. I then went and complained to the Horizon Club but they seem not interested and passed me on to someone else
This two experiences have convinced me to never come back there again.

Smack in the middle of the City with one of the largest malls in the country and even Asia just a stones throw away. The Edsa Shangri-La is definitely the luxury hotel this part of the City.

Edsa Shangri-La constantly makes an effort to take good care of their clients and their employees too. I recently had my children's thanksgiving party in the hotel and everyone was delighted with the food, ambience and personalized service. Kudos to all the teams for a great collaboration!

Arrived at around 1:45 pm but the room was not ready yet. They got my number and said they're gonna message me when the room is ready. 3 pm came and still received no text message. It turns out the room is ready when we went to concierge.

Quite good standards for the city, connected to one of the best malls of Manila, excellent health club. Spacious and modern rooms, comfortable bed. Great buffet for breakfast and dinner.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice lobby.
The only thing that let the place down is the business Center and it s stupid charges for printing and scanning !

It was an I love lobster all night delight. It was great but very limited selection though. The tempuras were few and takes awhile before replenished. Other dishes looked enticing but failed expectation, tastewise. Soup selection were nice with the Singaporean Laksa a must taste.

Update: Recent stay has been a disappointment. No hot water and no help from the so called 5 Star hotel. Unbelievable!<br/>Even the rooms are very dated and poorly maintained. There are much better and cost effective choices - for instance Seda Vertis Club room is cheaper and better room for the same price.

Really its a five star hotel, we've been to shangri-la because my sister had an event, she is one of the awardee, they called it presedential award from their company, i am so proud of my sister, its her 2nd time to received that award, going back to the hotel, they have superb food, also the lobby area are great the staff is good. Highly recommended

This hotel is always a guaranteed nice stay. They have several restaurants in the hotel.I enjoyed the one called Heat. It has Phillipino,Americano, and I believe Chinese food.
It seems most of the staff speaks Tagalog and English. I was traveling as a client for another company so I was met at my car when I arrived. I was walked to my room while being given a tour. Then checked-in in my room.
I stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and they have updated the place but the great customer service has not changed. What ever you pay to stay here you get back in customer service, a nice room, and great food. Oh it's about a block from the Philippines largest mall.

We stay here recently and had opportunity to compare with other 5 Star hotels in the area plus the other Shangri-La at fort.. This hotel is still the nicest of all even though it's older. The maintenance is excellent.. The grounds are the nicest and the lobby is super nice.. The swimming pool is beautiful.. The only cons are two... The pool is not heated (it use to be years ago)... The bakery stopped giving the 50 percent off after 8 pm.. Enjoy!!!

Most worth it staycation place in the metro. The breakfast buffet is one of the best in the city and the amenities are extensive. There are also a ton of interesting establishments and big malls walking distance from the hotel.

5 stars. Compared to the other five stars in Asia ...

5 stars. Compared to the other five stars in Asia (I know Dalian, Shanghai, and Ho Chi Minh), the room size and the contents seem to be inferior to the five stars, but overall five stars. There is also a large pool, like a slider, but a child-specific design. Breakfast is luxurious and the taste is nothing to watch.
Price is cheaper than other 5 stars in Asia

Clean rooms and courteous hotel staff. We all got what we requested, without extra charge: early check in, late check out, early use of swimming pool; and we also got the connecting rooms we wanted. Superb service!

1) The place of check in counter is way too far fr...

1) The place of check in counter is way too far from our room which is on the other end of the building.
2) The person tried to help by suggesting Mactan which is commendable... but later we found out there is another check-in counter at the other end which is a few steps away from our room. Was he not aware of it?
3) My daughter's had a "welcome cake" waiting inside her room but we don't received any. I had to called up twice (5pm and 7:30pm before it was delivered). What happened was a mystery.
4) The check in desk asked for the birthday (month, date, year) of my son-in-law whom I had booked and paid in advance. When I asked why did he want it, he said, "Just in case he did not surrender his Key Card". WHat is the relation between his birth date and key card?
5) He swiped P5,000 from my Hsbc Credit card to cover unpaid expenses. He said "it is just a deposit that is why I was not asked to sign the slip. 3 minutes later I received a message from HSBC that P5,000 has been charged to my account. It was supposed to be a deposit(In case I run away with unpaid any unpaid expenses). How come it was immediately charged to me credit card? This never happened to me before whether in any local or international hotels.

Although comparatively, the room wasn't as big as the one I stayed last time, I think the services were much more better. A few things the could be of much use would be a small microwave oven, increase the size of the HEAT buffet.
