Very comfortable stay i must say very enjoyable - the Wagyu beef at the teppanyaki grill was a bit let down was not that marbled and no show was put on by the chef working the teppanyaki hot plate. apart from that the stay was wonderful great attention to detail and very nice.

I love Shangri La. You are super high quality on every measure. This time, I encountered one challenge: I did not have my physical credit cards with me for the first 24h of my stay - I had left my wallet with a colleague by mistake. The front desk cannot accept apple pay, so we did it via e-transfer. It worked fine. But there were then repeated follow ups around "we need you to approve another $xxx to cover your expenses"...and I was not allowed to draw out any cash against my room when I subsequently asked. I found this strange, given my history and standing as a frequent visitor, and the standing of McKinsey as a business customer. A little more discretion to allow me to be treated in the normal way would have led to a more Shangri-La style experience. Instead, I felt treated like a high-risk customer.

The Island Shangri-La is a hotel that offers refinement and a personal touch when visiting Hong Kong. The hotel has a fantastic swimming pool and spa which is an oasis of calm in the middle of the busy city centre. There is a choice of restaurants within the hotel catering for all tastes, from the Petreus on the 56th floor offering fine French cuisine and amazing views of the Hong Kong skyline, to the poolside bar offering noodles and rice dishes. The hotel even has its own ale brewed especially for its guests. It's called Island Ale and it is well worth a try if you like ales!

The staff are fantastic and provide a great customer service experience. During my recent visit both Charish and Leo helped arrange tickets for theme parks, sort travel arrangements for trips, offered advice on places to see/things to do and even located a locksmith for me when I needed to repair a damaged lock!

A fabulous hotel, with a great view, great staff in a great city!

Had my wedding banquet on 29 January 2018 plus 2night hotel stay with Island Shangri La, love the overall experience and service quality, the team is extraordinary especially Gloria from Sales team, Oscar and Kay from the banquet team were absolutely fantastic, professional and with a warm personality that ease our stress when it comes to catering a dinner for close families and friends, we hope things to be perfect and warm so that guests can enjoy the night at ease, which the team certainly delivered more than we ever expected. Thank you.

I was thoroughly pleased and impressed with the service! Everything was so well organized and all needs were anticipated. Juna, Bianca and Pinky were amazing! And our driver who collected us at the airport was so professional and the ride was quite luxurious and refreshing after flying 27 hours to visit the Shangri-La!

I first visited the Island Shangri-la with my husband and then young children in 1996. We were living in Beijing at the time and our stay at the Shangri-la was a welcomed break. Re-visiting the hotel after 20 years, I was pleased to see that it hasn't changed. It brought back wonderful memories.

Room was a good size and well lighted. Bed was very large for a king size. Pillows were too soft for my liking however but that is just me. TV programmes were sufficient. Bathroom was a good size and had everything we needed. However the best thing is the location above Pacific Place where you are able to get almost everything you need. The Admiralty MRT station is minutes away. Very central to get anywhere.

Another wonderful stay at ISL and the staff continues to be the crown jewel of the hotel. Special shoutouts and thanks to Atsuko, Charis, Icy, Samson, Ivy and two other Horizon Club staff whose names I forgot. Just wonderful people!

Top notch from beginning to end. The room was a little dusty and smelled slightly moldy but it was the hospitality of the from desk that was excellent. Thank you to Katherine she walked us out to our limo and waved us goodbye. Beautiful service. A++

Love your attention to details! Rooms are very lux...

Love your attention to details! Rooms are very luxurious/ great amenities/ love your controlled temperature shower (very precise, no need to hassle with the water temperature every time). It was a positive surprise as well for your hot tea in a beautiful Chinese teaware.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, too bad it was a business trip so didn't get to savor that much :-)

Will surely comeback again.

Room does look a bit dated. Fixtures and fittings esp in the bathroom is old. It would be good to have a bluetooth speaker in the room, which is common in many 5 stars hotel these days

Room was musty and a bit smelly, the staff brought an air purifier, but the next day i ha=d to move rooms.

Ordered egg white omelette and it was horrible, tasted like fake product not a proper egg.

Staff were ok, but not as good as the shard.

You can tell the hotel is top notch if it has electric curtains. Island Shang didn't disappoint! Now they also had a stuffed bear for you to take home (kinda like Conrad). Island Shang doesn't have restricted access to floors. You just press and go so if you are paranoid don't stay there. Pay up for lounge access. Go have breakfast, tea, and happy hour boozes there. My flight was in the evening and I hung out there for 3 hours. I ate too many scones and cream. Try that and skip other stuffs!

the experience was outstanding. as soon as i arrived to the hotel i was taken to my room and all the paperwork was completed in my room. it is so good that the hotel considers that you have just checked in from a long flight, so very important when you are travelling

It was a wonderful experience for my elderly parents and my 2 year-old niece. The room wasn't ready until 2:30 p.m., but grateful that we were given one room to rest while waiting. Thank you for the connecting rooms and attention to details like baby bed and birthday cake are very much appreciated.

"Great service plus lovely atmosphere"
As soon as I reached the hotel, a kettle of tea, complemented by fresh fruits, was brought to my room. The room was very spacious, and during my stay, housekeepers, who cleaned the room twice a day, also ensured that I had sufficient bottled water to hydrate myself. As for hotel buffet I hope to see more choices for the vegetarians as I myself wasn't satisfied with the limited range of vegetarian choices. However, overall I would rate it as a 5 star hotel! I would also like to commend Bernadette, the Guest Relations manager who has provided us with great service and of course the housekeeper, Wendy, who has allowed our stay here in Shangri-La a pleasant and enjoyable one, Keep it Up!

Pass the hotel and take the opportunity to enter. The lobby of the hotel is well decorated and the service staff has an excellent attitude. The location is located in the city center, there is a large shopping mall downstairs, but the platform environment is quiet, next to the Hong Kong Park, the quiet and prosperous.

When I go on a business trip to Hong Kong, I use it several times because the location is good and the quality is high, but it seems that the accommodation fee is getting higher year by year, and I am sorry that I can not feel free to use with my subordinates.

The bathroom was not cleaned with the dirt in the bath, so it was possible to have a shower without storing hot water in the bath.

I did not take breakfast during my stay, and I did not answer this question because I had not had a problem in particular.

I have been coming to Shangri La hotels since 1980. Obviously I like them. My first room was a bit weak. Big red stain on the carpet not very appealing. Conceirge staff seemed not well trained and stuggling with English. Other than that gym great. Eight floor buffet among the best. Will be back.

The Shangri La hotel on Hong Kong Island was definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The service was impeccable and the hotel just stunning and wonderful. I was really amazed at how professional every staff member was, and the service was phenomenal!

I recently stayed at the Island Shangri La Hong Kong with my children and all the staff were so professional, friendly and caring.
In particular I would like to mention Rain Ho, Jasmine, Jocelyn in the club and restaurant and in particular our driver who collected and dropped us to the airport. First impressions are always important to me and all these staff members made us feel very welcome and important.

Always a home away from home.
We missed Bern.
Porsche, Nicole and Nana helped made our stay such a rested one.
I suggest that since renovation is going to begin, please include charge ports and convenience outlets on both sides of beds instead of only one side of the room. Provide more outlets as well along other areas of the room.

Totally angered by this visit! Dim sum totally off...

Totally angered by this visit! Dim sum totally off! Service was shockingly unpleasant. We were harassed by the waiter to finish our meal (after 1 hour 20 minutes) so the table can be cleared in case it is needed for customers. This was conveyed to us 3 times, when there were many empty seats around due to the wet weather. I argued that people may not show up because it was pouring outside, and why rush us when there are at least 10 tables not occupied! Finally I have to make a deal with him by saying after dessert and some hot tea, we will leave. When we were pouring our 2nd cup of tea, the bill came without us asking for it! This is really unacceptable.

I have been disappointed with recent last few experience with shangri la, started with Shangri La Jakarta, then Golden Sands and now Island Shang in HK. For my ISland Shang trip this time, the room has been booked 1 mth in advance. Yet when I checked in around 730pm, it took the reception 10min to check me in and almost made me accept a smoking room. When I checked into the room (4115), the bath tub has uncleaned hair (!!). Very disappointed

There were long waits for the lift because one of them was under maintenance works.
My room was on the 39th floor where events were hosted and near to the female toilets. There were occasional bursts of noise from people attending the events.
The housekeeping staff were very conscientious in keeping my room clean and replenishing drinks and fruits.
The variety at the breakfast buffet was good with different fresh fruits on offer over the 4 days breakfast I had.
Location is very good as it s linked to Pacific Place.

The only improvment is in terms of staff training and knowledge around the use of Golden Circle vouchers. We were told contradictory instructions by Poolside Terrace staff and front desk. Staff need to take ownership of this part of the experience and make it seamless for the guest.

As expected, I had a fantastic experience at the Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms are lovely. The request for a high floor was fulfilled, allowing for a wonderful view over HK island. The location is very convenient with direct access to pacific place mall and the admiralty MTR station.
