I have visited hongkong for few times already but ...

I have visited hongkong for few times already but this was my first time visiting hongkong with my family for celebrating my dad's 60th birthday. The first thing I was amazed by was that there was a Korean employee 'Juna Yu' from guest relations department who welcomed me and my dad while processing check-in. She came to us for saying hi and expressed us how she knows about our purpose of stay and what she prepared for us! and even during our stay, she kept making us feel that we are deeply cared by the hotel by leaving some messages and sweets in our room! We have stayed 5 star hotels in other cities but it was the first time we felt that we would definitely come back for the same hotel when we travel this city again! We would love to recommend this hotel to our relatives and friends if they ask us where is a good place to stay in hongkong. In addition to above, we would like to send regards again to Juna Yu for her special hospitality as she made us feel like we are home though we are travelling! :)

Too Cafe at the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong is a very elegant place. From the
moment I stepped out of the taxi to when I left the Island Shangri-La , I felt like I was in another era.

I was invited to have dinner at the Too Cafe with my mother by my cousins. The food was plenty and the choices vast.

The decor is what always sets the mood for me at dinner in a restaurant. When my mood is upbeat and relaxed, I tend to eat more.

The seafood and sushi was plentiful and quite tempting to the eyes. Lobsters, shrimps, salmon, tuna etc...

A Chinese soup of the day and a western soup of the day, which was cream of mushroom soup ( a favorite of mine ) and a Chinese specialty soup that is made of this and made of that, very expensive and very good for you.

Desserts upon desserts. The made to ordered crepes are excellent.

Amazing! Highly recommended.
We spent here 2 nights and 2 more to go.
We love it here! The food is great is the service is great the rooms are great.
We are going to spend time at the location in shanghai and we are super excited about it.
I love the gym and spa here.

Service is good .

In the F&B outlets on a few occasions we had - fly in our soup , hair in our veg (summer palace) , plastic piece in our porridge which happened over a span of 3 days. We also gave our feedback to the restaurant manager. This is surprising as Shangs is known to be 5 stars.

We had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Hayden and Nicole greeted us at check in. It was our 41st anniversary and Nicole presented me with a beautiful bouquet of roses. She then proceeded to bring us up to our room which was decorated with some lovely balloons wishing us a happy anniversary. Hayden was always professional but so kind and friendly. He was very attentive to us during the Happy Hour. Hayden, Joyce and Nicole were so helpful with our check out and giving us extra time in our room. An all around fabulous experience - thank you!

had a wonderful annivesary break in island shangrila. all the staff were very helpful and courteous. form the surprise flowers with personalized handmade card from Karley Man. the staff in the horizon lounge was very helpful with all our queries. also before arriving the conciege team made restaurant reservations for us too. even the staff who call the cab was very helpful also and gave recommendations too.

We spent the best New Year holidays here.

We spent the best New Year holidays here.
We could get a full-fledged Chinese food at the summer palace dining area, and thanks to the Japanese Concierge, I was able to change the room into a room with countdown fireworks.
We recommend upgrading to the Horizon floor, even if you spend a little money. You can enjoy snacks and drinks.

Magnificent hotel, superb staff. Staying there during a Super typhoon was a little disconcerting, but everybody was doing their best to keep the show on the road.
All the staff in the Horizon Club were excellent, not least when our flight home was cancelled and we had an extra 4 nights in Hong Kong. Theresa Chong dealt with our problem without fuss, told us not to worry, just keep her informed as the picture became clearer and ensured our room was still available. Joe in recreation by the pool was a credit to the hotel.
We will definitely be staying there on any future visits to Hong Kong.

Everyone was very friendly, helpful and proactive to my needs with a nice smile on their faces. Keep it up Shangrila hotel team! They made the room and kept refilling the toiletries which was great!

Amazing place. Just what you expect from a top tie...

Amazing place. Just what you expect from a top tier hotel. Some in our group didn't really want a more expensive hotel, but soon saw the value when ok ne realized they lost their passport. The hotel jumped into action, located the passport on the train, and had a driver return it in just 2 hours. Great place!

The staff throughout the hotel were and are outstanding. I would like to give special mention to Nicole, who greeted us, and Umi, whose service in the restaurant, and care shown towards our daughter, were beyond outstanding. All of your staff are a credit to Shangri-La.

The situation with the pool was a bit of a disappointment. The alternative at The Conrad, lost sun by around midday, and was an unsatisfactory option. To carry out pool maintenance around the busy new year period seems like a poor decision.

However, the quality of service from the staff went far in off-setting this disappointment.

I felt that the hotel was a well-established hotel...

I felt that the hotel was a well-established hotel. The staff were well trained and were able to spend comfortably. The accommodation was accompanied by an elderly mother, but kindly supported it became a good memory of our Hong Kong trip. The breakfast menu is plentiful and there is a lot of fun to choose. Next time I will travel to Hong Kong, I will try to stay.

What a wonderful experience, polite helpful staff, excellent food,
good facilities. Enjoyed the poolside dining. Great location.
Unfortunately our room smelt of damp so we were offered several others the following morning, sadly it was a case of opting for the least smelly. I appreciate it is a humid country but there was a leak being repaired in the corridor outside our club room on level55, possibly a contributing factor to the smell.
However once highlighted the staff were more than happy to help us chose another room. So i still rate 5
On a more upbeat note we loved the whole breakfast experience in the club lounge, the harbour view from our room was ever changing, my son was allowed to join us to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary breakfast with complimentary Champagne. Thank you to everyone on your team.

I had a 12-day trip to Hong Kong, so comfort was the most important criteria when looking for a hotel.

As a regular customer with this hotel group, Island Shangri-La does not disappoint. Nice, huge, quiet and comfortable room with a great view. All the staff in the hotel including restaurants were responsive, helpful and pleasant. The Guest Relations personnel Nicole, Hailey and Rain, they made a great team. Even when one of them was not around, the others were aware of the situation and offered help right away.

I felt very much at home.

After visiting Shangrli-La in Toronto, i head of this one in Hong Kong so i finally went. 10000% incredible hotel with best views of the area, and just minutes away from Lennon Wall, Central Plaza and Tai Chi Gardens. They treated us Canadians incredibly well.

Very high quality hotel and I expect top service. Everything was perfect except that breakfast was beeing served until 11.00. We arrived 10.25 and was almost not let in. They told us we could pick our food for 5 minutes but we could eat until 11.00. They removed all the food and drinks at 10.30. We could hardly get anything, everytjing was empty and they had no plan to get more because they were closing. Drinks was empty and when I asked for orange juice they just pointed to their watch and said "closed". In my world serving brefast until 11.00 is exactly that. I pointed out that the info said that brekfast was until 11.00 and their reply was that I was allowed to eat until 11.00, but I had no food. Terrible experience after paying extra for brekfast. I would give 5 stars if not for the brekfast issue but it was terrible customer service. We had to go out and buy brekfast one more time. I asked for a refund but it, in their opinion, was my fault since I didn't come for brekfast earlier.

As someone who works in the field of customer serv...

As someone who works in the field of customer service, I have to tell you how impressed I am at the level at which the staff perform. Everything is done seamlessly and deliberately, while keeping the guests at ease. Two employees in particular stood out to me. The first was Karen, who was so welcoming during check-in, and was kind enough to follow-up with me later in the stay and provided some sweets as well! All her communication with me was tailored, and she remembered that I had not been back to Hong Kong in a long time and that I was visiting family. The personal touches mean a lot! The second, I regret to say I forgot her name, was the incredibly helpful staff member who assisted me at the airport when I was leaving Hong Kong. I arrived at the airport around 10:40AM. She escorted me and my luggage from the car to the American Airlines ticket desk, which was not to open for another hour and a half (completely my mistake for not double-checking that). She was then kind enough to escort me to a couple of lounges in the arrivals hall to see if i could gain access there until check-in opened (I could not). All the while, she had my luggage in tow! Finally, I decided that I would just do some shopping until check-in opened. Instead of leaving me for good, she offered to house my luggage so I wouldn t have to drag it around with me, and told me she would meet me back at the American Airlines counter at 12:15PM when check-in opened. At 12:10PM, she arrived with my bags and waited patiently with me in line, even though I said she had done more than enough to help and was free to leave if she liked! She helped me unload my bags from the cart to the baggage scales and gave me directions on how to get through security before wishing me pleasant travels and excusing herself. I truly can not commend her enough! It was a fabulous lasting impression of Shangri-La service, and it wasn t even AT the hotel! I am sure that the entire staff would have been more than keen to do all this for anyone, but it speaks volumes about the level of service they are committed to delivering. What seems like going above and beyond to a guest is simply the norm for the staff, which is something to be proud of. I plan on sharing these examples with my staff as well, to truly emphasize how much of a difference these types of interactions can make. Thank you very much for a memorable stay.

There was only one incredibly small issue I encountered that was not rectified, and I think it was just because of how challenging it was to describe. I called the service centre on my first morning to make note of the shower curtain in the bathroom. When the main shower head is on with hot water running, it creates a pressure difference. This causes the curtain to blow inwards to the tub, which results to it clinging to the occupant and getting in the way (there was a lot of swatting at the curtain to try and keep it away from me). After reporting it, the agent on the phone said she d send someone to look into it, but nothing was done nor any follow-up communicated. I found that using the hand-held shower head reduced the billowing shower curtain issue, so I did not find it worth bringing up again. In the interest of any other guests that may experience this issue as well, I find having a shower curtain liner with weights along the bottom helps alleviate this problem. Thank you for considering this option, and for an otherwise flawless stay.

Our experience during our stay was first class and extremely enjoyable.
All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful and special mention must go to the staff in the Horizon Club especially Shirley Sham and her colleague Charis. Both young ladies are a credit to the Island Shangri-La.Hotel along with all staff.

A beautiful and classy hotel with excellent service from professional staff. All the decorations are just brilliant and the Horizon Club Lounge is awesome. The arrangement of the complimentary breakfast at The Petrus is one of the best experience throughout my stay. The only thing need to improve is the bathroom. It would be perfect if handheld shower head can be provided in the shower. Overall speaking, I am very satisfied with my two night stay at the harbour view suit. Sure to come back.

As always, the Island Shangri-La lives very much up to the standard I truly enjoy in a Shangri-La Hotel. I also want to express appreciation to the Horizon Club personnel and Restaurant Petrus (breakfast team). Charis is a staff person every CEO wishes to hire and keep. She is truly an asset for Shangri-La and the Club Operations. There are a number of staff there and in Petrus who make me and my guests feel welcome and remembered each stay. The gentleman who was taking care of the 34/F on the day of my arrival and at least one subsequent day also is a credit to Shangri-La s training program. Knowing the name of the occupant and saying it at every encounter. It is not necessary, but it does make guests realize, they are not just another lodger in the many that staff see every year.

Hotel excellence location at Pacific Place and Admiralty MTR. Direct airport express from Airport to Hong Kong Station. Free shuttle bus to the hotel from Hong Kong Station.

Spacious 44 square metres Victoria Harbourview rooms on or above 50th floor offer excellence view of the harbour. Stayed at 5005, the view was fantastic. Day & night views were equally good.

Huge marble bathroom with bath tub separated from standing shower.

stayed here a couple times, very nice loacation with a high end mall near by, rooms are in tip top excellent condition, however I did spotted dusts at some blind spots everytime. over all it's a very pleasant hotel and would definitely return

Another wonderful stay in a Shangri-La hotel. The facilities, menu options and location were first class and all the staff from the resident manager Julian, Guest Relations Officer Hailey, to the charming room butlers Kier and Soniya went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. We made good use of the Horizon Club and would like to say a special thank you to the staff who worked there as they were all courteous, attentive and helpful. To sum up, we had a most relaxing and laid back break in luxurious surroundings and wish we could have spared the time to stay longer!

The buffet is a little seven o'clock in the evening. There are a lot of big yellow flags and swallowed fresh sushi. The entrance has more than one hundred Boston lobsters open for you to eat, there are snacks, dozens of dishes are available, lobster soup is super positive, like BAXTER soup is improved. There are hand-cut ham ten pig spleen, roast beef, all kinds of meatball soup powder, Master's real teppanyaki Japanese beef fillet, there are three kinds of Indian curry and pancakes. There are a variety of fish raw sushi, Hokkaido crab feet, large fine green mouth ( ) ordinary lettuce salad, several kinds of Thai food. Desserts are invincible after dinner, more than one hundred kinds of cockroaches, all kinds of candy all over the world, even Jia Yingzi! All kinds of handmade sweet crepes, hands-on cream, hand-made jade cinnamon cones and more than 20 kinds of self-made handmade ferrets, full food to see the second square feet of dessert files must regret. This is the first time I stayed in a Shangri-La Hotel, for sure this is a great experience for me and my friends. staffs are friendly, the room is spacious and luxurious. worth paying to stay here!

the only thing i would like to raise is about TV. it would be much better if now sports and premier league channels are provided in HD version. also, Shangri-La can think about upgrading the TV into a smart TV that allows AirPlay and Android phone mirroring. that will definitely enhance customer's experience!

It was a very enjoyable stay. Really appreciate the hot tea served in the room. Was pleasantly surprised that my room was cleaned up even though I left for dinner for a short while. I wanted to check in early actually because I reached HK earlier than expected but unfortunately I was only able to check in around 12+pm. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Staffs were very polite and helpful.

Noticed that there was a bath tub. Will appreciate if a bath bomb is provided in the future as I had to get one myself from Body Shop.

Very tempted to order in the breakfast to have it on the bed but hesitated because of the price.

Great personnel at the Island Shangri-La. Always ...

Great personnel at the Island Shangri-La. Always enjoy my stays there. Well trained and not just a job, but a corporate culture. The property itself is generally well kept. There may be some consideration given to updating the interior decor, but leaving it as it exists is just fine, too.
